SNIDER, KATHLEEN L.

Kathleen L. Snider, 76, of Pine View Nursing Home, Harris-ville, formerly of Brohard, died Sunday, Jan. 14, 1996, at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital, following an extended illness. She was born in Brohard, a daughter of the late Chloe Edith Wilson. She was a life long homemaker and a member of Hartley Church of Christ, Brohard. Surviving are an aunt, Ada Wilson of Munday; an uncle, Kenneth Kerns of Beverly, Ohio; and 12 cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dallas Eugene Snider, in 1957; one sister, Betty Ann Arnold, in 1976; and an infant brother, John Wilson, in 1921. Services were scheduled Wednesday, 2 p.m., at Busch Funeral Home, Elizabeth, with Evangelist Eugene L. Conger officiating, and burial in Hartley cemetery, Brohard.

SNIDER, MILDRED G.

Mildred G. Snider, 78, of Walker, died Saturday, April 6, 1996, at Charleston Area Medical Center, General Division. She was born in Pine Grove, a daughter of the late Carl and Annie Keller Eagle. She was a member of Hoy Chapel. Surviving are two sons, William W. Snider of Walker and Adrian E. Snider of Williamstown; four sisters, Ruth Dye of Big Springs, Madlyn Bednar of Grantsville, Oma Gean Williams of Big Root and Wanda Miller of Cleveland; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Icel Snider; one brother; and three sisters. Services were held at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, Parkersburg. Burial was in Gainer cemetery, Grantsville.

SPENCER, CECIL W.

Cecil W. Spencer, 74, of Parkersburg, died Saturday, Aug. 10, 1996, at his residence. He was born in Calhoun County, a son of the late Clem and Cora Smith Spencer. He was retired from A.B. Chance Co., Parkersburg, after 39 years of service. He was a member of Mount Olivet Lodge No. 3, AF&AM, Parkersburg, and Scottish Rite Bodies of Parkersburg. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Belpre. Surviving are his wife, Ruth Price Spencer; three stepsons, Louie Dotson, Randy Fluharty and Rodney Fluharty, all of Parkers-burg; two stepdaughters, Pam Cooper of Mineral Wells and Diane Bennett of Davisville; one brother, Harley D. Spencer of Parkers-burg; and one sister, Clarabell Cottrill of Parkersburg. He was preceded in death by one sister, Ester Woodford. Services were held at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, Parkersburg, with Rev. Bill Angel officiating. Burial was in Sunset Memory Gardens.

SPRINGSTON, ELIZABETH

Elizabeth Springston, 76, of Gallatin, Tenn., died Tuesday, Aug. 13, 1996, at Gallatin Memorial Hospital. She was born in Kanawha County, a daughter of the late Lawrence and Ivy Anderson Spencer. She was a resident of West Virginia for 40 years and of Gallatin the past 29 years. She was a member of Hendersonville Missionary Baptist Church, and was a past member of Two Runs Baptist Church, Wirt County. Surviving are one daughter, Robin Lynn Beavers of Hendersonville; two stepbrothers, Donnie Springston and Larry Springston, both of Grantsville; four stepsisters, Carol Reynolds of Grantsville, Debbie Springston of Gallatin, Kathy Springston of San Diego, Calif., and Carol O'Brien of Jacksonville, Fla. Services were held at Two Runs Baptist Church, with Donald Spencer officiating.

STALNAKER, ROXIE M.

Roxie M. Spicer Stalnaker, 88, of Rockville, Md., formerly of Millstone, died Saturday, Dec. 14, 1996, at Shady Grove Adventist Hospital, Gaithersburg, Md., following a brief illness. She was born in Wetzel County, a daughter of Curtis and Gertrude McHenry Butler. She was a homemaker, school cafeteria worker, and sales clerk. She taught Sunday School for over 30 years, most of them at Hepzibah Baptist Church, Gilmer County. She was a member of Tri- County Baptist Church, Damascas, Md. Surviving are one daughter, Margaret Elizabeth Spicer Peters of Rockville; one sister, Gertrude Amos of Gallatin, Tenn.; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Orval Spicer; her second husband, Rev. J. Walter Stalnaker; and three sisters. Services were held at Sand Fork Baptist Church, with Rev. Bob Rich and Rev. Robert Nicholas officiating. Burial was in Sand Fork cemetery.

STARCHER, BUSTER Buster Starcher, 65, died Thursday, April 18, 1996. He was born at Richardsonville, a son of the late Harley Pete and Ruth Duskey Starcher. He was a resident of Barberton, Ohio, for 45 years and retired from Rockwell after 36 years of service. Surviving are his wife of 41 years, Dessel Richards Starcher of Barberton; a son, Michael Starcher; daughters and son-in-laws, Loretta and Jim Gainer of Barberton, Terrie and Mitch Shafer of Enid, Okla.; grandchildren, Timothy and Jason Gainer, Samantha Shafer; brothers, J.T. Starcher and Robert Wayne Starcher of Parkersburg, Golden Starcher of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, Charles Starcher of Grantsville; and sisters, Freeda McCune of Barberton, Fae Kerby of Mt. Zion and Joyce Bouvia of Madison, Ohio. He was preceded in death by a brother, Bill Starcher. Services were held at Campfield-Hickman-Collier Funeral Home. Burial was in Greenlawn cemetery.

STARCHER, CHESTER D.

Chester D. Starcher, 73, of Spencer, died Wednesday, Oct. 2, 1996, at Roane General Hospital. He was born in Calhoun County, a son of the late Fred and Eva Bethel Hall Starcher. He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran of World War II. He was retired from Spencer State Hospital. He attended Full Gospel Lighthouse Church, Big Bend. Surviving are his wife, Alma M. Greathouse Starcher of Spencer; four daughters, Janet Leek of Belpre, Shirley Gainer and Eva Chapman, both of Spencer, and Emma Walker of Big Bend; two sisters, Ada Webb of Spencer and Opal Mace of Arnoldsburg; one brother, Fred Starcher, Jr., of Arnoldsburg; and six grand-children. He was preceded in death by one brother, Kenneth Starcher. Services were held at Stump Funeral Home, Arnoldsburg, with Rev. David Carpenter officiating. Burial was in Eventide cemetery, Spencer.

STARCHER, DENVER R.

Denver R. Starcher, 77, of Mud Fork, died Thursday, Aug. 22, 1996, at his residence. He was born in Clay County, a son of the late John G. and Elizabeth Tanner Starcher. He was a retired combustion engineer for Ford Motor Co., Brookpark, Ohio. He was a member of Seville Masonic Lodge No. 74 AF&AM. Surviving are his wife, Dora E. Shafer Starcher; four daughters, Betty Cowger of Sutton, Cathy Ruckman of Yadkinville, N.C., Becky Lance of Creston, Ohio, and Bobbi McLuch of Seville, Ohio; four sisters, Ivy Drake of Ivydale, Madge Lamb of St. Albans, Gladys Dague of Orlando, Fla., and Hilda Douglas of Westfield Center, Ohio; seven brothers, Andy Starcher of Clay, Orville Starcher of Ivydale, James Starcher of Chloe, Shirley Starcher of Nebo, Corbett Starcher of Creston, Ohio, Roscoe Starcher of Seville, and Dennis Starcher of North Ridgeville, Ohio; 11 grandchildren; and six great- grandchildren. Graveside services were held at Shafer cemetery, Chloe.

STARCHER, LENNA M.

Lenna Maxine Starcher, 70, of Parkview Healthcare, died Friday, Sept. 27, 1996, at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital. She was born in Calhoun County, a daughter of the late Casper and Gertie Frederick Whipkey. She was a retired nursing assistant at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital. She was a Baptist. Surviving are four sons, Willis "Dale" Starcher of Washing-ton, George "Bill" Starcher of Columbus, Denver Starcher of Park-ersburg and Myron "Butch" Starcher of Reedy; three daughters, Barbara Davis of Slate, Hilda Tanner of Waterford and Pamela Reed of Parkersburg; four brothers, Ted Whipkey of Pettyville, Hayward Whipkey of Burning Springs, Leonard Whipkey of Arkansas and Richard Whipkey of Georgia; one sister, Oma Siers of Roanoke, Va.; 18 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son, Roger Starcher, and two brothers. Services were held at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg. Burial was in Nobe cemetery.

STARCHER, OPAL M.

Opal M. Starcher, 81, of Mt. Zion, died Monday, April 29, 1996, at Roane General Hospital. She was born in Rocksdale, a daughter of the late E.L. and Amy Craddock Roberts. She was a homemaker. Surviving are one son, Helma Starcher, with whom she made her home at Mt. Zion; one daughter, Dolly Mace of Medina, Ohio; two sisters, Violet Husk and Freda Starcher, both of Parkersburg; eight grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Everett Starcher; one son, Eugene Starcher; one brother, Denver Roberts; three sisters, Goldie Starcher, Rita Morgan and Cora Husk; and one grandson. Services were held at Stump Funeral Home, Arnoldsburg. Burial was in Husk cemetery, Arnoldsburg.

STARCHER, ORVILLE W.

Orville W. Starcher, 94, of Ivydale, died Saturday, Aug. 24, 1996, at his residence. He was born in Clay County, a son of the late John G. and Louisa Adkins Starcher. He was a former Clay County commissioner, having served for 12 years, and was a Clay County farmer, timberman and livestock dealer. He was a member of Unity Gospel Tabernacle, Nebo. Surviving are five daughters, Elva May and Mardell Nevans, both of Ivydale, Vesta Arnold of Arnoldsburg, Lydia Gay Ashley of Jonesville, N.C., and Sandy Funk of Tunnelton; two sons, Marlin Starcher and Carol "Kayo" Starcher, both of Ivydale; four sisters, Ivy Drake of Ivydale, Madge Lamb of St. Albans, Gladys Dague of Orlando, Fla., and Hilda Douglas of Westfield Center, Ohio; six brothers, Andy Starcher of Clay, James Starcher of Chloe, Shirley Starcher of Nebo, Corbett Starcher of Creston, Ohio, Roscoe Starcher of Seville, Ohio, and Dennis Starcher of North Ridgeville, Ohio; 33 grandchildren; 71 great-grandchildren; and 41 great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Ruby Metheney. Services were held at Unity Gospel Tabernacle, Nebo, with Rev. Darrell Mollohan and Rev. Kenneth Chapman officiating. Burial was in Coen cemetery, Nebo.

STARKEY, BEULAH B.

Beulah B. Starkey, 84, of Marietta, died Friday, Aug. 2, 1996, at Marietta Center for Health & Rehabilitation. She was born in Grantsville, a daughter of the late Gilbert and Allie Bell Boice. Surviving are one stepson, Leonard Starkey of Marietta; four brothers; two sisters; seven grandchildren;, several great- grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence O. Starkey; one stepson, John Starkey; one step-daughter, Virginia Oliver-, and eight brothers and sisters. Services were held at McClure-Schafer Funeral Home, Marietta, with Rev. Duane Biehl officiating. Burial was in Valley cemetery.

STARKEY, WILLARD L.

Willard L. Starkey, 65, of Grantsville, died Saturday, Sept. 7, 1996, at Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown. He was born in Calhoun County, a son of the late Sawly S. and Gertrude Husk Starkey. He was a U.S. Army veteran and a retired employee of Grantsville. Surviving are his wife, Madiline Blake Starkey; five daughters, Anna Huffman of Big Bend, Jean Starkey of Dunn, N.C., Shirley Starkey, Melissa Starkey and Lisa Starkey, all of Grantsville; two sons, Lewis Starkey of Grantsville and Scott Starkey of Dunn; and 11 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one brother, Eugene Starkey. Services were held at Stump Funeral Home, Grantsville, with Rev. Ron Swiney officiating. Burial was in Clayton Stump cemetery near Grantsville.
