Clondell L. Porreca, 75, of Parkersburg, died Friday, Aug. 30, 1996, at her residence. She was born in Calhoun County, a daughter of the late Edward P. and Nellie Snider Ferrell. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Xavier Catholic Church. Surviving are one daughter, Phyllis Bleigh of Parkersburg; two sisters, Mildred Johnson of Elyria, Ohio, and Margaret Wiseman of Parkersburg; one brother, Edward Udell Ferrell of Mt. Zion; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters. Services were held at Vaughan Funeral Home, Parkersburg, with Rev. Michael P. O'Reilly officiating. Burial was in Evergreen South cemetery.

Bernard Postalwait, 75, of Rosedale, died Tuesday, April 2, 1996, at his residence. He was born in Gilmer County, a son of the late Frank and Tida Wright Postalwait. He was a retired tool dresser in the oil field industry. Carl J. Postalwait, 78, of Rosedale, died Tuesday, June 18, 1996, at his residence. He was born in Braxton County, a son of the late Frank and Tida Wright Postalwait. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II serving in the European Theatre. He was a retired oil and gas field worker and was a member of Rosedale United Methodist Church. Surviving are two sons, James M. Postalwait of Rosedale and Dwight R. Postalwait of Arnoldsburg; two daughters, Brenda Mollohan and Treza Norman, both of Rosedale; two sisters, Cleo Hancock of Rosedale and Arlou Laws of St. Albans; two brothers, Donald 'Jim' Postalwait of Spencer and Jack Postalwait of San Antonio, Tex.; and six grandchildren. Mary Hays Powell, 84, of Arnoldsburg, died Tuesday, Aug. 20, 1996, at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital. She was born in Arnoldsburg, a daughter of the late E. L. And Agnes Meadows Hays. She was a former Calhoun County elementary school teacher having taught at Beech, Leatherbark, and Union elementary schools. She was a retired assistant postmaster at Arnoldsburg. She was a member of the Arnoldsburg United Methodist Church. Surviving are her husband of 64 years, Rue Powell; two sons, James Hays Powell of Parkersburg and William R. Powell of Chillicothe, Ohio; three brothers, Richard Hays of Marietta, Ohio, Sam Hays of Roanoke, Va., and Perry Hays of Colorado Springs, Colo.; one sister, Betty Kellar of Lexington, Ky.; six grandchildren, Tammy Nichols, Robin Powell, April Haught, William R. Powell, Jeffry Powell and Jennifer Diley, and four great-grandchildren, Breeann Nichols, Dustyn Nichols, Paige Haught and Brian Powell; two daughters-in-law, Barbara Powell of Parkersburg and Iolene Powell of Chillicothe, Ohio. She was preceded in death by one sister, Kathryn Louise Curtis; and two brothers, Edwin S. Hays and George J. Hays. Services were held at Stump Funeral Home, Arnoldsburg with the Revs. Glendon McKee, Harold Duskey and John S. Stump officiating. Burial was in Hays cemetery, Arnoldsburg.

Oleta F. Pritt, 72, of Grafton, Ohio, died Saturday, April 6, 1996, at EMH Regional Medical Center, Elyria, after a long illness. She was born in Stumptown, a daughter of the late Isaac and Lilly Vannoy Harris. She had lived in Grafton since 1952. She was a member of Grafton Baptist Church. She enjoyed quilting, flowers, word puzzles, and rummage sales. She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Charles E. Pritt; two daughters, Linda Purcel of Grafton and Carol Miller of Elyria; one son, Doug of Elyria; seven grandchildren; and one brother, John Harris of Akron. She was preceded in death by brothers, Rube Harris and Charles Harris; sisters, Nellie McCune and Stella Collins; and two grandchildren, Services were held at Blackburn Funeral Home, Grafton, with Rev. Willis Donaldson officiating. Burial was in Butternut Ridge cemetery, Eaton Township, Ohio.

Nellie M. Propst, 88, of Vienna, died Thursday, Mar. 7, 1996, at her residence. She was born in Wood County, a daughter of the late Johnson M. and Courtney Ferrell Coberly. She attended Wood County schools and was an employee of Marshall Nursing Home, Vienna, and a private housekeeper. She attended Vienna Baptist Church. Surviving are one son, Charles M. Propst of Oxford, Ala.; one daughter, Ella M. Propst of Vienna; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elhanen W. Propst; two sons, Joseph M. Propst and Robert Propst; four brothers; and two sisters. Services were held at Bethlehem cemetery, Grantsville, with Rev. James Pearson officiating.

Oather Otmer "Bud" Pursley, Jr., 64, of Spencer, died Monday, Mar. 18, 1996, at Charleston Area Medical Center's General Division, after a long illness. He was born in Spencer, a son of the late Oather Otmer and Ella Belle Norman Pursley, Sr. He was a psychiatric aide at Spencer State Hospital, a member of First Advent Christian Church, Spencer, and a U.S. Army and U.S. Air Force veteran. He is survived by his wife, Mary L. McEndree Metz Pursley; two step- daughters, Sharon Denise Grogg of Mesa, Ariz., and Robin Sue Pursley of Spencer; one stepson, Vincent Nolan Metz of Bradenton, Fla.; one half-sister, Trixie Elizabeth Lee of Spencer; one half-brother, William Clair Pursley of Livingston, Tex.; one step-granddaughter, Katrina Lawson; and two step-grandsons, Nathan Ray Pursley and Wesley Aaron Metz. He was preceded in death by one brother, Rondell "Mike" Pursley. Services were held at Taylor-Vandale Funeral Home, Spencer, with Rev. Roy Russell officiating. Burial was in Mt. Zion cemetery.

Cora Lee Reed, 67, of Cambridge, Ohio, formerly of Grants-ville, died Sunday, Oct. 20, at South Regional Medical Center, Cambridge, following an extended illness. She was born in Clarksburg, a daughter of the late Olen and Mattie Ervin Heck. She was a homemaker. Surviving are nine daughters, Sharon Burch and Linda Iby, both of Cumberland, Ohio, Gail Steed of Sarahsville, Ohio, Kathy McKinney of Cambridge, Becky Brown of Salesville, Ohio, Mollie Patrick of Quaker City, Ohio, Donna Fluhearty of Mannington, and Sandy Boatright and Carolyn Reed, both of Grantsville; one son, Dale Reed of Zanesville, Ohio; five sisters, Hilda Erlewine of Waco, Tex., Delores Sapp of Carrton, Tex., Barbara Jean Hayes and Helen Hayes, both of Mannington, and Betty Price of Cambridge; one brother, Olen "Buck" Heck of Stonewood; 21 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Woodrow P. Reed; one daughter, Judith Ann Reed; and one son, Woody Wayne Reed. Visitation will be at Stump Funeral Home, Grantsville, 5 to 8 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 24. There will be no funeral services and burial will be at the convenience of the family.

She was born in Belpre, a daughter of Gerald Rexroad of Ritchie County and Linda Krugman of West Liberty, Ken. She was a 1994 graduate of Greenbrier East High School and was employed in the management division of Shoney's, Troutville, Va. Surviving are two brothers, Justin Rexroad of West Liberty and James Sheffer of York, Pa.; maternal grandmother, Betty Krugman of Pennsboro; and maternal great-grandmother, Nona Maze of Munday. She was born in Braxton County, a daughter of the late French and Anna Crihfield McCumbers. She was a homemaker and attended Elmira Baptist Church. Surviving are three daughters, Dolores Brady of Garretsville, Darlene Whistle of Cincinnati and Dorothy Lewis of Williamsburg, Ohio; three sons, Roger Sampson, Lesley Sampson and Rick Sampson, all of Cincinnati; one sister, Cleo Miller of Rosedale; two brothers, Stanley McCumbers of Baltimore, Md., and Dennis McCumbers of Parkersburg; 18 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was retired from the W.Va. Dept. of Highways in Gilmer County and was a former carpenter. Surviving are his wife, Ruby H. Sampson; three sons, Otis Sampson of Sterling, Ohio, Kenneth Sampson of Millstone and Willard Sampson of St. Marys; two daughters, Ellen Coen of Barberton, Ohio, and Mary West of Sand Ridge; 14 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one stepgreat-grandchild.
