Madeline King
Madeline King, 75, of Williamson, died Tuesday, Aug. 10, 2004, in the Appalachian Regional Hospital Skilled Nursing Facility in South Williamson, Ky.
Born Oct. 17, 1928, at Williamson, she was a daughter of the late Robert and Eliza Jane Charles Gannon.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, John King Jr.; daughters, Bobbie Jean and Sharon King; brothers, Thomas E., Donovan, Glenn W. Jennings O., Aldon Gannon and two other brothers; and sister, Martha Swain.
She was a homemaker and of the Pentecostal faith.
Her survivors include son, Wilburn E. King of Williamson; daughters, Carolyn Sue (Robert) Hensley of Williamson; Martha Jane (Jack) Stacy of Stone, Ky.; Karen Adkins of Williamson; brothers, Golden (Inez) Gannon of Columbus, Ohio; Olin D Gannon of Williamson; sisters, Ruth Sesco of South Williamson; Marvella (Carl) Stollings and Mary Lou (James) Young, both of Sevierville, Tenn.; Ida Marie Hardin of Stirrat; eight grandchildren, Bobbie Sue (Randy) Zornes, Kristy (Joey) Carey, Jack Clinton Stacy, John C. Adkins, Brian (Sarah) Hensley, Jamie (Melissa) Stacy, Rebecca K. Adkins and Rachel (Patrick) Coleman and 13 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, Aug. 13, 2004, at the Hatfield Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Delbert McCoy officiating. Burial will follow in the Thompson-Moore cemetery at Burnwell, Ky.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation will be held after 6 p.m., Wednesday and anytime Thursday at the funeral home with services at 7 p.m., Thursday.
Hatfield Funeral Chapel of Toler, Ky., is in charge of arrangements.
Drexil Lawson
Special memorial services for Drexil Lawson, 85, will be held at 1 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 15, 2004, at the Regional Church of God, Delbarton, with Pastor Mitchell Bias officiating.
Mr. Lawson of Chapin, S.C., formerly of Delbarton, died April 1, 2004.
Estel Hill
Estel Hill, 60, of Cincinnati, Ohio, passed away July 7, 2004, at his residence.
Born November 7, 1943, at Beech Creek, W. Va. to the late Dennie Hill and Allie Mahon Hill, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Cora Hill and Myrtle Dingess.
Surviving are his son, Donald Eldon Hill of New Richmond, Ohio; brothers, Freeman Hill of Red Jacket, W. Va., Hansford Hill of Beech Creek, W. Va., Ray Hill of Florence, Ky., Roosevelt Hill of Cincinnati, Ohio, Harold hill of Frederick, Md. and Bill Hill of Parkersburg, W. Va.; sisters, Shirley Klamecki of Attica, Mich., Ramona Halley of Ridgeview, W. Va. and Wanda Sue Fitch of Merrimac, W. Va.; two grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
All services were held in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Elbie Jarvis
Elbie Jarvis, 66, of Maher, W. Va., passed away Monday, August 2, 2004, at Williamson Memorial Hospital.
Born November 21, 1937, in Maher, W. Va., to the late Henry Jarvis and Gertrude Johnson Jarvis, he was a retired dock worker. Mr. Jarvis was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Henry Jarvis, Jr., Ronnie and Charles Jarvis; and sister, Brenda King.
Surviving are his son, Rick (Melissa) Jarvis of Port Ritchie, Fla.; brothers, Willard (Linda) Jarvis of Maher, W. Va. and Bobby Jarvis of Lebanon, Ohio; sisters, Julia Jarvis of Maher, W. Va., Mary (Ted) Schwartz of Roanoke, Va. and Debbie (Bruce) Sturgill of Maher, W. Va.; and three grandchildren, Kara, Michael and Haley Jarvis.
Funeral services will be held Friday, August 6, 2004, 11 a.m., at Pilgrim Home Church, Maher, W. Va., with Revs. Chris Hensley, Matthew Martin and Earl White officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. View Memory Gardens, Maher, W. Va. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation will be held anytime after 5 p.m. Thursday, August 5, 2004, at the church. Special services will be held at 7 p.m.

Michael Tanyhill
Michael Tanyhill, 54, of Williamson, W. Va., died Monday, August 2, 2004 in the emergency room of Williamson Memorial Hospital.

Denny Lester
Denny C. "Screech" Lester, 51, of Baisden, W. Va., passed away Sunday, August 1, 2004, at Logan Regional Medical Center, Logan, W. Va.
Born June 23, 1953, in Iaeger, W. Va., to the late Lawson and Pearl J. Lester, he was a United States Army veteran having served in Vietnam. Mr. Lester was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers, Garrison Lester, Elliott Lester, Marshall Lester, Bart Lester and Norrison Lester; one sister, Minnie Sheppard; four nephews, Kenny Lester, Eddie Mangus, Robert Trent and Timmy Lester; and one great nephew, Brian Robinette.

William Sither
William M. Sither, 77, of Garden Grove, Calif., died Friday, July 30, 2004, at the Anaheim Health Care, Anahaim, Calif.
He was a retired custodian with Aerospace in Anaheim.
Born Dec. 22, 1926, in Ohio, he was a son of the late Martin Sither and Florence White Sither.
Surviving are two nieces, Judy Reed and Michele Lovely.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, Aug. 11, 2004, at Diamond & Shannon Mortuary, Garden Grove, Calif.
Burial will take place at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 16, 2004, at Mountain View Memory Gardens at Maher under direction of Weaver Mortuary of West Williamson.
Frances Hunter
Frances G. Hunter, 81, of Dillon, S.C., formerly of Delbarton passed away Thursday, Aug. 12, 2004, at her residence.
She was born Jan. 5, 1923, in Logan, W. Va., the daughter of the late Ralph A. and Mattie Godby Thompson Sr. She was a homemaker and a member of the Dillon First Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John C. Hunter; one son, John Scott Hunter; one brother, Ralph A. Thompson Jr.; one sister, Jeanette Rose Maynard; and two grandchildren, Melissa and Ryan Tiller.
Mrs. Hunter is survived by three sons, Gerald (Karol) Thompson of Marysville, Tenn., John David Hunter of Moultrie, Ga., and Charles (Elizabeth) Hunter of Dillon; one daughter, Deborah Ann (Moses) Tiller of New Smyrna Beach, Fla.; 10 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m., Monday, Aug. 16, 2004, at the Chafin Funeral Home, Delbarton, with the Rev. Bill Snodgrass officiating. Burial will follow in the Highland Memory Gardens, Logan.

Frances Akers Taylor, 73, of East Kermit, W. Va., passed away Wednesday, August 4, 2004, at Williamson Memorial Hospital.
Born March 10, 1931, to the late George and Bertie Eastburn Akers, she was a retired businesswoman. She was the owner and operator of Taylors Happy Mart. She was a member of Kermit United Methodist Church and a member of Eastern Star.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, James Akers and Lee Akers of Kermit, W. Va.
Surviving are her husband of 52 years, Buddy Taylor; one sister, Margaret (Drewey) Parsley of East Kermit, W. Va.; one brother, Fred (Pauline) Akers of East Kermit, W. Va.; one nephew, Larry E. Jude of Lexington, Ky.; two nieces, Katherine R. Jude of Flattersburg, Miss. and Bonnie Fullerton of Parkersburg, W. Va.; sister-in-law, Helen Akers of Kermit, W. Va. and caregivers, Susan Hensley, Robin Stacy, Cora Stanley and Rhonda Matnard.

Michael Tanyhill
Michael Clifford Tanyhill, 54, of Williamson, W. Va., passed away Monday, August 2, 2004, at the Williamson Memorial Hospital.
He was born May 25, 1950, at Williamson, W. Va. and the only child of the late Clifford and Aurilla Tanyhill.
Michael took an early retirement due to health complications and lived with his devoted wife, Mildred E. Tanyhill.
He was attending the Christian Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses at the Kingdom Hall in Chattaroy, W. Va., and looked forward to getting baptized in September, 2004.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by 22 children; three stepchildren; one uncle, David Tanyhill; three aunts, Willie Mae Johnson of Chicago, Ill., Lillie Pearl Lee of Columbus, Ohio and Hazel Harris of Williamson, W. Va.; and a host of grandchildren and friends.
Visitation will be at the Rogers Funeral Home Friday, August 6, 2004, from 7 - 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, August 7, 2004, at the Rogers Funeral Home in Belfry, Ky. with David Walston presiding.
Burial will follow at the Mountain View Memory Garden, Maher, W. Va.

Charles "Tom" Miller, 72, of Christian died Thursday, Aug. 12, 2004.

Tammy Pritchard
Tammy L. Booth Pritchard, 31, of Van (Boone County), W. Va., was called to be a special angel on Aug. 4, 2004, following a short illness with family members by her side.
Born Aug. 15, 1972, at the Children's Hospital in Chicago, Tammy was a 1993 graduate of Scott High School in Madison, W. Va., she also attended Shawnee Hills work program and attended the New Hope Baptist Church near Madison.
Tammy was preceded in death by her grandparents, Raymond L Morgan, Clifford L. and Madge M. Pritchard.
She is survived by a very loving family which includes her parents, Rich and Debbie Pritchard of Van; sisters, Sharon Buckner of Madison and Joyce Tyler of Van; one brother Richie and his wife Amanda of Foster; grandmother, Faye Morgan of Robinson; aunts, Melanie Winhoven of Camp Creek, Teresa Moore of Bob White, and Joyce Pierson and Thelma Spinks, both of Burch River; uncles, Randy Morgan of Crest Hill, Ill., Greg Morgan of Alexander, Ky., and Roby "Doug" Morgan and Steven Morgan, both of Robinson; and nieces, Morgan and Alexis Buckner of Madison and Krystal Dawn Marie Tyler of Van.
