Helen Wellman Larkey, 82, passed away Thursday, November 11, 2004, in Mary Rutan Hospital, Bellefountaine, Ohio. He was a resident of Cambell House, Bellefontained, Ohio and a former resident of Hartiville, Ohio.
Born in Dingess, W. Va., November 12, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Hugh and Della Fuller Wellman.
Surviving locally are her three brothers Hugh (Annamae) Wellman of Kermit, W. Va., Gary L. Wellman of Dingess, W. Va. and Phillip R. Bob (Mary) Wellman of Dingess, W. Va.
Gravesite services were held November 14, 2004 at the Wellman Family cemetery, Dingess, W. Va.
Helen Browning
Helen M. Browning, 77, of Oceana, W. Va., passed away Sunday, November 14, 2004, at Raleigh General Hospital, Beckley, W. Va.
She was born February 25, 1927, in Elk Creek, W. Va. to the late Bert and Martha Walls Morgan.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 17, 2004, 1 p.m., at Mounts Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Herman Cook and Evangelist/grandson Brad Hatfield officiating. Burial will follow at Browning cemetery, Verner, W. Va.

William Clay
William "Bill" Clay, 86, of Kermit, W. Va., passed away Saturday, November 20, 2004, at Williamson Memorial Hospital.
Born February 28, 1918 in Kirk, W. Va., to the late B.J. Clay and Mary Gilman Clay, he was a retired coal miner. He was a member of the Masonic Blue Lodge, Kermit, W. Va. and served in the U.S. Army as a master sergeant.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Juanita Lois Howard Clay.
Surviving are his children, William Edward Clay of Kermit, W. Va. and Juanita Clay Hensley of Kermit, W. Va.; six grandchildren and several great grandchildren; and special friend for many years, Mrs. Marthy May Collins.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 27, 2004, 11 a.m., at Richmond-Callaham Funeral Home, Warfield Chapel with prayer by Gary Hensley. Burial will follow at Family cemetery.

Ray Maynard
Ray Maynard, 78, of Breeden, W. Va., passed away Wednesday, Nov. 24, 2004, at his residence.
He was born Sept. 13, 1926, in West Virginia, the son of the late Albert and Peggie Taylor Maynard.
Mr. Maynard was also preceded in death by two brothers, Roland Maynard and Ken Maynard.
He was a member of the Mt. Zion Church.
Survivors include three brothers, John B. Maynard of Dingess, W. Va., Willie (Ursula) Maynard of Mt. Washington, Ky., and Ernie (Emma Jean) Maynard of Breeden, W. Va.; four sisters, Hazel Williamson of Bishop, Va., Blanch (Enoch) Shepard of Chesapeake, Va., Martha May Collins of Kermit, W. Va., and Frankie Williamson of Breeden, W. Va.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 28, 2004, at the Mt. Zion Church at Breeden, W. Va., with the Rev. Haskel Fields officiating. Burial will follow in the Maynard Family cemetery at Breeden.

Carlos Williams
Carlos Williams, 70, of Kermit, W. Va., passed away Tuesday, November 23, 2004, at Williamson Memorial Hospital.
Born January 11, 1934, to the late Harlan Williams and Pearlie Williams, he served with the 82nd Airborne in the Korean War.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Ralph Williams and wife, Connie Davis Williams.
Surviving are his son, Kenneth Williams of Ashville, Ohio; daughter, Connie Williams of Kermit, W. Va.; brothers, Clifton of Columbus, Ohio, Hubert of Alberta, Ala. and Albert of Kermit, W. Va.; sisters, Mabel Williams of Kermit, W. Va., Lorene Rummel of Columbus, Ohio and Myrtle Economy of Columbus, Ohio; and three grandchildren, Victoria Howerton, Fancy Farmer and Brittany Williams.
Funeral services will be held Friday, November 26, 2004, 11 a.m., at Phelps & Son Funeral Home, Warfield Chapel with Ken Allen officiating. Burial will follow at the Marcum cemetery.
Visitation will be held Thursday, November 25, 2004, 5 - 10 p.m. at the Warfield Chapel.

He was born April 20, 1944, in Man, W. Va., to Berthel H. Kennedy of Amherstdale, W. Va. and the late Mable Lorraine Altizer Kennedy.

Donnie Harrison, 50, passed away Wednesday, November 24, 2004, at his residence.
He was an employee of DFS Distribution. Donnie was preceded in death by his parents, Donnie and Lois Harrison; sister, Michael Harrison; brother, Chester Harrison; and son, Michael Charles.
Surviving are his fiance Judy Carsey; sisters, Lois Jean (Charlie) Crumine of New Hampshire and Debbie Harrison of Virginia; children, Delina (Jimmy) Spires and Tommy (Christina) Brizendine; and nine grandchildren.

Charles D. Fain, Jr., 76, husband of Peggy Clemons Fain, died Tuesday, November 23, 2004.
Surviving in addition to his wife are his two sons, Rodney N. (Kelly Becht) Fain of Wildwood, Mo. and Thomas C. Fain of Frankfort, Ky.
Funeral services will be held at noon Saturday, November 27, 2004, W.R. Milward Mortuary-Southland, Lexington, Ky., conducted by Rev. Jason Hutchison. Burial will follow at Blue Grass Memorial Gardens cemetery.

Helen Wellman Laymon Larkey, 82, passed away Thursday, November 11, 2004, in Mary Rutan Hospital, Bellefountaine, Ohio. She was a resident of Cambell House, Bellefontaine, Ohio and a former resident of Hartsville, Ohio.
Born in Dingess, W. Va., November 12, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Hugh and Della Fuller Wellman.
She was a high school graduate of Lenore High School, Lenore, W. Va., attended Glenville College, Glenville, W. Va., and was a graduate of Ohio University. She was a retired teacher and first started her teaching in Mingo County, W. Va. She then moved to Ohio where she taught for approximately 40 years in both Glenmont and Rootstown Ohio Elementary Schools before retirement.
Preceding her in death are her husband; one sister, Ruth Evans of Logan, W. Va.; three brothers, Earsel "Whink" Wellman of Dingess, W. Va.; Delva Wellman of South Point, Ohio and Alfred Wellman of Dingess, W. Va.
Survivors include her son, Allen (Carol) Laymon of Hartsville, Ohio; daughters, Sue (Logan) Chanay of Bellefontaine, Ohio, Katherine (Jack) Nagy of Ohio; six grandchildren; and six great grandchildren; one sister, Lena Newsome of Columbus, Ohio; three brothers, Hugh (Annamae) Wellman of Kermit, W. Va., Gary L. Wellman of Dingess, W. Va. and Phillip R. Bob (Mary) Wellman of Dingess, W. Va.

Denis Staton
Denis Lee Staton, 36, of Vulcan, W. Va., passed away Sunday, November 14, 2004, at Vulcan, W. Va.
He was born October 6, 1968, in South Williamson, Ky. to the late Ralph Staton and Emogene Prater Staton.
Surviving are his brothers, Donald Keith Prater of Edgarton, W. Va. and Samuel Wayne Staton of Bartlick, Ill.; sisters, Barbara Sue Wood of Ashboro, N.C., Rebecca Ann Mounts of Boling Brook, Ill. and Denise Lynn Staton of Ashboro, N.C.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 18, 2004, 12 noon, at Phelps Funeral Services' Chapel with Revs. Doug Maynard and Otis Blankenship officiating. Burial will follow at the Prater cemetery at Vulcan, W. Va. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Eunice Barger
Eunice "Jenny" Allen Barger, 63, went to be with her Lord November 25, 2004, at Grant Medical Center following a long illness. Her family members were by her side.
Born May 3, 1941, at Phelps, Ky., she was a daughter of the late Lige and Katherine Wolford Allen.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lester Barger; a son, Bobby Gene Sinett and a daughter, Patty Sinett.
Survivors include: a son, Lester; two daughters, Sherry and Lisa; a brother, Lige (Mae) Allen; a sister, Patty Shannon; eight grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m., Monday, November 29, 2004, at Cook and Son Pallay Funeral Home with Rev. Elia Harmon officiating.
Visitation will be 5 p.m. 8 p.m. Sunday, November 28, 2004 at the Funeral Home.
She love the Lord and her family and her generous and beautiful singing voice will be missed.
Violet Williams
Violet Williams, 67, of Williamson, died Thursday, Nov. 25, 2004 at Appalachian Regional Hospital, South Williamson, Ky.
Born September 9, 1937, in Mingo County, W. Va., she was a daughter of the late Harvey and Zelphy Cains Porter.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Williams was preceded in death by one brother.
She was a homemaker.
Survivors include: Her husband, Jimmy Williamson, a son, Harold Marcum of Belvidere, Ill.; two stepsons, Bruce Ray Williams of Columbus, Ohio and Nick Williams of Blackberry, Ky.; three stepdaughters, Debra Brown of Wisconsin; Wanda Croford of Arizona and Vida Marie Hudson of Columbus, Ohio; two brothers, W. Porter of Omar, W. Va. and Carlos Porter of Pineville, W. Va.; two sisters, Dorothy Marcum of Borderland, W. Va. and Hazel May of New Camp Road, South Williamson, Ky.; 16 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, November 28, 2004, at the Rogers Funeral Home chapel, Belfry, Ky., with Josh Hall, Buddy Kendrick and Lonnie Francis officiating.
Burial will follow in the Mt. View Memory Gardens, Huddy, Ky.
Visitation will be after 6 p.m. Friday, November 26 and Saturday, November 27, 2004 at the funeral home chapel with special services at 7 p.m. both nights.
