Junior Muncy
Junior Muncy, 73, Gilbert, a superviser of gas wells for Ray Resources, died at 3:00 p.m. Monday, May 17, 2004, at the Logan Regional Medical Center, Logan.
Born Nov. 14, 1930, at Paintsville, Ky., he was a son of the late Thomas and Mona Stumbo Muncy. He was married
to the late Betty Sue Higgins Muncy.
He also was preceded in death by twin children, a son and daughter; one sister, Marie Muncy Parsley, and one brother, Willard Muncy.
Muncy was a member of the Riverview Freewill Baptist Church.
Survivors: to rejoice his return to his heavenly home and loving wife are two daughters, Debbie (Roger) Endicott of Gilbert, and Sue (Steve) Trent of Huntington; three grandchildren, Eric Endicott of Gilbert, and Justin Trent and Jessica Trent, both of Huntington; a great-grandchild, Shaely Marie Trent of Huntington, and four brothers, Bob Muncy of Xenia, Ohio, Bill Muncy of Buckhannon, Ron Muncy of Athens, Greece, and Don Muncy of Kentucky.
Friends may call at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel at Gilbert from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, May 20, 2004.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, May 21, 2004, at Mounts Funeral Home, with the Rev. Clyde Endicott and the Rev. Norman Vance officiating.
Burial will follow in the Forest Lawn cemetery at Pecks Mill.
Pallbearers will include Eric Endicott, Justin Trent, Roger Endicott, Steve Trent, Lee Hedrick and Ricky Hedrick. Honorary pallbearers are the Rev. Norman Vance, Homer Blankenship and the Rev. Homer Jr. Blankenship.

Sheila Harrell
Sheila (Miss Ann) Harrell, 51, of Freeman, W. Va., died on May 15, 2004, after an extended battle with cancer.
Born July 3, 1952 at Matewan, W. Va., she was a daughter of Myrdis L. Allen of Red Jacket and the late Albert Allen, Sr.
She graduated from Marshall University in 1975 with a B.A. in Business. Upon graduating she became employed with Norfolk Southern where she met her future husband, Ronald Aaron Harrell, with whom she was united in marriage on June 25, 1977 in Williamson, W. Va.
She is survived by husband, Ronald Harrell of Freeman; two daughters Sherron and Erin Harrell of Tallahassee, Fla.; mother, Myrdis Allen of Red Jacket; four brothers and a sister, Albert Allen, Jr. of Red Jacket, Jimmy (Mary) Allen of Hercules, Calif., Wilbert Allen of Red Jacket, Connie (Michael) Windbush of Chesapeake, Va., and Bryan Allen of Chesapeake, Va; six nieces and nephews, Jesse Windbush, Marlon (Sharice) Windbush, VA, Kelly, Regina, and James Patrick Allen, Brandy Allen, Jessica Windbush, Shanice Windbush, and Marc Anthony, and a host of friends.
Steve Blevins
Steve A. Blevins, 44, passed away at his residence Friday, May 21, 2004. He was born in Huntington, W. Va., on Oct. 13, 1959. Before becoming disabled, Mr. Blevins worked in plastic factories in Columbus, Ohio, and North Carolina.
Survivors include: wife Linda Dingess Blevins; three daughters, Patricia A. Blevins Hunt, Milessa and Stephnie Blevins; father Robert G. Blevins, Columbus, Ohio; Elva J. Blevins Cottrell, Louisville, Ky.; stepfather Richard L. Cottrell, Louisville, Ky.; twin sons Shannon and Shawn, Columbus, Ohio; two granddaughters, Columbus, Ohio; one grandson, Columbus, Ohio; stepmother Pamala Trexler, Columbus, Ohio; half brother Wayne Adam Blevins, Columbus, Ohio; two brothers, David L. Blevins, Columbus, Ohio, and Bobby G. Blevins Jr., Turkey Creek, Ky.; two step-sisters, Mary and Milinda Trexler, Columbus, Ohio; stepbrother Robert Trexler of Columbus, Ohio; one adopted sister, Dovie Eaton Blevins, Columbus, Ohio; aunts, nephews, nieces and cousins.
Roy Ailiff Sr.
Roy L. Ailiff Sr., 68, of Williamson, died on Friday, May 7, 2004, at the Appalachian Regional Hospital in South Williamson, Ky.
He was born on Nov. 13, 1935, in Mingo County, a son of Melda Layne Ailiff of Williamson and the late James Ailiff. He retired from the N&W and N&S Railroad after 48 years as a crane operator.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Wanda Lou Looney and Emma Joyce Kelly.
Along with his mother, he is survived by his wife, Barbara S. Browning Ailiff; two sons, Roy Lee Ailiff Jr. and James Morris Ailiff, both of Belfry, Ky.; two brothers, Richard (Claudine) Ailiff and Frank (Lilly) Ailiff, both of Williamson; five grandchildren, Moses (Brandy) Ailiff, Shawn Eric Ailiff, Roy L. Ailiff III, Austin Ailiff and Sarah Ailiff; and four great-grandchildren, Aurora Ailiff, Owen Ailiff, Alex Ailiff and Peyton Roberts.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m., Monday, May 10, 2004, at the Rogers Funeral Home in Belfry with Brother Allen Shouse officiating. Burial will follow in the Mountain View Memory Gardens at Huddy, Ky.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation will be after 6 p.m., Sunday, May 9, at the funeral home.

Virgil Mounts
Virgil Mounts, 76, of Freeburn, Ky., passed away on Sunday, May 9, 2004, at the Skilled Nursing Facility at the Appalachian Regional Hospital in South Williamson, Ky.
Funeral arrangements were incomplete as of presstime and will be announced at a later date by the R.S. Jones and Sons Funeral Home of Phelps, Ky.
Donald Spaulding
Donald Spaulding, 65, of Kermit, died at his residence, Friday, May 28, 2004.
He was born April 11, 1939, in Wayne County, a son of the late Dewey and Gracie Aldridge Spaulding.
Mr. Spaulding was employed by Sartin Trucking as a truck driver and was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include one daughter, Dovena Spaulding Sams of Wyoming; three sons, D.J. Spaulding of Las Vegas, Nev., Christopher Spaulding of Kermit and Joshua Spaulding of Mount Gilead, Ohio; one stepdaughter, Jennie Pack of Maurango, Ohio; two brothers, James "Happy" Spaulding and Paul Spaulding, both of Kermit; two sisters, Lois Knotts of Columbus, Ohio and Florence "Flo" Adkins of Inez, Ky.; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He is also survived by his aunt and uncle, Flora and Herb Parsley and a special person, Billy Hyatt of Stonecoal.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday, May 31, 2004, at the Golden Springs Freewill Baptist Church in Stonecoal with minister Eddie Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Damron cemetery at Stonecoal.
Friends may call after 3 p.m. Sunday, May 30, 2004, at the church.

Mack Williams
Mack Elliot Williams, 25, of Kermit, died last week at Stonecoal.
Born Aug. 18, 1978, in Columbus, Ohio, Mr. Williams was the son of Jessie Messer of Kermit and Laura Williams of Kermit.
He was employed by Interstate Gas Company.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by: two sons, Mack Elliot Steven Williams and Timothy Eli Williams, both of Kermit; a daughter, Jeneva Williams of Kermit and a brother, Jessie Eli Messer of Kermit.
Funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m., Monday, July 12, 2004, at the Crum Church of Christ with Rev. Paul Messer officiating.
Visitation will be held Saturday, July 10, 2004, at the Crum Church of Christ and at 5 p.m., Sunday, July 11, 2004, at the Silver Creek United Baptist Church.

Dianna Caldwell
Dianna Caldwell, 41, of Madison, W. Va., died Thursday, July 8, 2004, at Boone Rehabilitation Center.
Born March 8, 1963, at Man, she was a daughter of the late Willie and Earnesteen Browning Walker.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Caldwell was preceded in death by a great-niece, Emily New.
She was a homemaker, gospel singer and a member of Pathway Church of God, Christian, W. Va.
Survivors include: her husband, Archie (Cary) Caldwell Jr. of Cyclone; a son, Jeremy Caldwell of Cyclone; two daughters, Ashlee Caldwell and LeeAnna Caldwell, both of Cyclone; three sisters, Daphene (Douglas) Browning of Whitemills, Ky.; Darlene (Timothy) Davis of Abingdon, Va.; and Claudette (Rev. Michael) VanNatter of Christian; two nephews, Brian Hatfield and Michael VanNatter Jr.; a nephew who was like a son, Private First Class Daniel VanNatter; six nieces, Miranda Davis, Jessica (J.P.) Blankenship; Hope Feamster; Kelly Hatfield; Brittany Walker and Amber New; two great-nieces; two great-nephews and a host of friends and relatives.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m., Monday, July 12, 2004, at Pathway Church of God with Rev. Michael VanNatter Sr. and Rev. Harrison Williamson officiating.
Burial will follow in the Christian Community cemetery at Christian.

Robert Martin
Robert "RC" Martin, 68, of Williamson, W. Va., passed away Tuesday, July 20, 2004, at Williamson Memorial Hospital.
Born April 15, 1936, in Matewan, W. Va., to the late Robert Martin and Sarah Music Martin, he formerly worked for the Mingo County Courthouse.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Freddie Martin; sister, Viola Rollins; and two granddaughters, D.J. Carter and Chessel Tracy Carter.
Surviving are his wife, Chessel White Martin of Williamson, W. Va.; sons, Troy Carter of Martin County, Ky., Arvil Martin of Borderland, W. Va., Stuard Ray Haugen (Martin) of Logan, W. Va. and Steward Martin of Jenny's Creek, W. Va.; daughters, Margaret Darlene Crabtree of Nolan, W. Va., Elvia Lou Lawson of Delbarton, W. Va. and Teresa Martin of Marrowbone, W. Va.; sisters, Geneva White of Williamson, W. Va. and June Varney of Varney, W. Va.; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services will be held Friday, July 23, 2004, 1 p.m., at Church of Our Lord Jesus Christ at Den's Branch, Naugatuck, W. Va. with Rev. Jimmy Belcher and Rev. Curtis Collins officiating. Burial will follow at the Maynard cemetery at Big Branch, Naugatuck, W. Va. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Shirley Cline
Shirley Jean Cline, 69, of Hanover, W. Va., passed away Wednesday, June 30, 2004, at Logan Regional Medical Center, Logan, W. Va.
She was born February 24, 1935, in Hanover, W. Va. to the late Jennings and Elizabeth Cline Lester.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 3, 2004, 1 p.m., at Hanover Missionary Baptist Church, (Godfrey's Corner) Hanover, W. Va., with Rev. Jackie Lester and Rev. Ronnie Lester officiating. Burial will follow at the Lester Family cemetery, (Joe Point) Hanover, W. Va.

Gregory Perry
Gregory Paul Perry, 44, of Knoxville, Tenn., formerly of Delbarton, W. Va., passed away Thursday, July 1, 2004, at the University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville, Tenn.
Gregg was born July 30, 1959 at Williamson, W. Va. He was the son of Paul and Anna Adkins Perry of Delbarton, W. Va.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Lee and Carrie Perry and maternal grandparents Allen and Grace Adkins.
Gregg was employed by Autonation in Knoxville, Tenn. and was a former graduate of Marshall University and valedictorian of Matewan High School class of 1976. Gregg's faith in God founded and remained through the Varney, W. Va., Church of God.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by brothers, Jeff and wife Cathy Perry of Varney, W. Va. and Rob and wife Ridale Perry of South Point, Ohio. He was cherished by his nephew Elijah, and nieces, Tiffany, Caitlyn and Robi as well as his local dog and friend, "Rocky."
Funeral services will be held at the Chafin Funeral Home Monday, July 5, 2004, at 1 p.m., with the Rev. Gary "Bo" Starr and Rev. Gary Starr officiating. Burial will follow in the Carter-Williamson cemetery at Varney, W. Va.
Visitation will be at the funeral home chapel from 6 - 9 Sunday evening.

William Slater Jr.
William J. Slater Jr., 51, of Delbarton died Sunday, July 11, 2004, at his residence.
He was born on July 24, 1952, in Turkey Creek, Ky., to the late William J. and Verdie Alice Varney Slater Sr. He was a retired railroad dispatcher and a member of the Nolan Freewill Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Michael Ray Slater; and one sister, Margaret Mays.
Mr. Slater is survived by his wife, Janice Blevins Slater of Delbarton; one son Brent Lawson Slater of Delbarton; four daughters, Ashley Marie Hall, Samantha Renee Young and Ruby Rachel Blevins (Slater), all of Delbarton, and Eva Lynn Bartram of North Carolina; four sisters, Nina Varney of Belfry, Ky., Patsey Pennington of Grayson, Ky., Mary Lou Mays of Ohio and Dorothy Stroll of Indiana; and one grandchild, Kaylan Hall.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m., Wednesday, July 14, 2004, at the Nolan Church of God Acts 20:28 at Nolan with Earl White officiating. Burial will follow in the Blevins cemetery at Winco Black, Maher.
