Iris Lemoyne Simmons
Iris Lemoyne Simmons, age 79, of French Creek, WV died Friday, April 6, 2007 at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, WV. She was born July 16, 1927 in Buckhannon, WV, a daughter of th late Orville and Sarah Hinzman DeBarr. On December 13, 1947 she married Dorsey Simmons who survives. Also surviving are one daughter, Terri Channell and husband Ron of Clarksburg, WV; two grandsons, Shawn Channell and wife Maria of Leominster, MA and Christopher Channell and wife Angela of Morgantown; three great-grandsons, Andrew, Matthew and Benjamin Channell; one brother, Edwin DeBarr of St. Albans, WV; a nephew, Jim Halterman and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Clell, Web and Jerry DeBarr and one sister, Mildred Halterman. Mrs. Simmons was a receptionist for Dr. Courtney and was a Methodist by faith. As per her request, she will be cremated. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

James Stanley 'Stan' Shoulders
James Stanley 'Stan' Shoulders, age 57, of Buckhannon, WV died Monday, May 7, 2007 at St. Joseph's Hospital. He was born March 1, 1950 in Richwood, WV, a son of the late Gwenda Mae Hearn. In addition to his mother he was preceded in death by one daughter, Tiffiany Nicole Shoulders. On November 26, 1977 he married Mary Gaudet of Buckhannon who survives. Also surviving are two sons, James Brandon Shoulders and fiance Jamie Davis of Buckhannon and Ian Matthew Shoulders of Buckhannon; two brothers, Robert Shoulders and wife Linda of Mannington, WV and Steve Shoulders and wife Libby of Morgantown, WV; one sister, Carole Shoulders of Rockville, MD; several nieces and nephews and his trusty dog, Sable. Mr. Shoulders worked for Wal-Mart as a Loss Prevention Supervisor. He was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church. He served in Vietnam where he was awarded the Bronze Star, was a member of the Corvette Club of America, and was an avid sports fan. In life there is suffering, in death there is peace. Friends will be received Friday May 11, 2007 from 12 Noon until 2 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A Prayer Service will be held 2 PM Friday at the funeral home with Father Ron as celebrant. Buckhannon VFW Post # 3663, Frank B. Bartlett Post # 7 American Legion, DAV Chapters # 5 & 36 will conduct Military Honors. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Assoc. Mr. Shoulders will be cremated at his request. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Fonzo Vincent, Jr.
Fonzo Vincent, Jr., age 85, of Buckhannon, WV died Sunday, May 26, 2013 at his home. He was born February 26, 1928 in Mt. Gay, WV, a son of the late Fonzo Edward and Virgie Allen Vincent. On April 12, 1947 he married Pearl Smith who survives. Also surviving are one son, K. David Vincent and wife Vicki of Buckhannon; three daughters, Sandra Grubbs and husband Jack and Sonja Lynn Carlson both of Knoxville, TN and Nancy Sanders and husband Jim of Mt. Clare, WV; seven grandsons, Brandon Vincent and wife Aimee of Ashburn, VA, Mitchell Vincent and wife Rebecca of Hurricane, WV, Jay Poling and wife Teresa of Sutton, WV, Marc Poling and wife Dianna and Adam Grubbs both of Knoxville, Ben Carlson of Atlanta, GA and Bryan Sanders and wife Christie of Anmoore, WV; two granddaughters, Lora McCarter and husband Jason of Knoxville and Jennifer Geibel and husband Greg of Pittsburgh, PA; thirteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Robert Edward Vincent and three sisters, Margie McNeely, Mollie Lorain Trent and Virginia Fern Bragg. Mr. Vincent was a Supervisor for Upshur Coals Corp. He served in the US Army during WW II and was an Ordained Deacon and Attended the Christian Fellowship Church. Friends will be received Wednesday, May 29, 2013 from 5-8 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 11 AM Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. J. Edward McDaniels, the Rev. Donald Butcher and Frank Williams officiating. Burial will follow in the Buckhannon Memorial Park in Buckhannon. The Buckhannon VFW post # 3663, Frank B. Bartlett Post # 7 American Legion and DAV Chapters # 5 & # 36 will conduct Military Honors at the graveside. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Arthur H. Smith
Arthur H. Smith, age 79, of Rt. 1 Buckhannon, WV died Thursday, May 10, 2007 at Holbrooks Nursing Home. He was born December 20, 1927 in Calhoun Falls, SC, a son of the late James McDowell and Willie Pauline Cannon Smith. He is survived by his companion, Johanna Plisko Pearson of Buckhannon; one son Michael Allen of Topeka, KS; one daughter Robin of Olathe, KS; one step son, Ken Pearson & wife Sarah of Buckhannon; two step granddaughters, Amy Pearson of Buckhannon and Jessy Pearson of Winchester, VA; two step grandsons, Austin and Dylan Metz both of Buckhannon. Mr. Smith was a brick mason, a member of Buckhannon Moose Lodge # 598, Buckhannon VFW Post # 3663 and the Buckhannon Eagles Club. Mr. Smith will be cremated and there will be no services here in Buckhannon. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Genevieve P. Shipman
Genevieve Genny P. Shipman, age 84, of Belington, WV died peacefully Tuesday, May 29, 2007 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born in Upshur County, WV on October 13, 1922 a daughter of the late George Sherman Phillips and Alvertie Lee Crites Phillips. On October 17, 1946 she married Dr. James Trusler Shipman who survives. Also surviving are three daughters, Sarah Shipman-Kuntz and her husband Jerry of Belington, Susannah Clark and her husband Gerald K. of Clarksburg, WV and Sudie Shipman of Fort Lauderdale, FL; three grandsons, John W. Cruise, III of Boca Raton, FL, William Clark of Clarksburg, and Eric Clark of Clarksburg; one granddaughter, Jennifer Cruise of Monroe, NC; three sisters, Ondelea Norris of Clarksburg, Norma Jean Postlethwait of Bridgeport, WV and Patricia Wolford of Indianapolis, IN and a niece Agnes Sally Shipman of Belington. Mrs. Shipman was a registered nurse in Ohio and West Virginia for 42 years. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Clarksburg and was a member of the Sigma Kappa Sorority. A memorial service will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, June 2, 2007 at Chapel Hill United Methodist Church in Buckhannon, WV with Sudie Shipman officiating. In lieu of flowers a donation in Gennys name may be made to the Alzheimers Association at 22 North Michigan Ave., Floor 17, Chicago, IL 60601-7633 . Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Wilbur 'Pops' R. Snider, Jr.
Wilbur 'Pops' R. Snider, Jr., age 72, of French Creek, Indian Camp Indian Camp, WV died Friday, June 15, 2007 at his home. He was born on May 18, 1935 at Rosemont, WV a son of the late Wilbur Ray Snider, Sr. and Edith Ball Snider. On June 18, 1955 he married Shirley Waddell who survives. Also surviving are two sons; Wilbur Ray Snider, III and wife Lois of Indian Camp, WV and James E. Snider and wife Monica of Indian Camp; four daughters, Loretta Whetzel and husband Robert of Keyser, WV, Deborah Warner and husband Bud of Buckhannon, WV, Barbara McCartney and husband Dwayne of Gould Road, WV, and Pamela Williams and husband Brian of Indian Camp; seventeen grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren; one sister, Shirley Brown of Buckhannon; one step brother, Terry Cain and wife Janice of Indian Camp; one step sister, Mary Bennett and husband Charlie of French Creek and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his stepmother, Nellie (McCann) Snider; one grandson, Nicholas Warner and one sister, Linda Snider. Mr. Snider was a Methodist by faith and attended the Indian Camp United Methodist Church. He worked for Bethlehem Steele, Craig Auto Parts and DLM Coal Company. He loved his family, his farm and enjoyed working in the woods and on the sawmill. Friends will be received 4 9 PM, on Tuesday, June 19, 2007 at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. Mr. Snider will lie in state Wednesday from 1 - 2 PM, the funeral hour at the Indian Camp United Methodist Church with the Rev. Sue Lowther officiating. Burial will follow at the Indian Camp Church Cemetery. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Charles A. Smith
Charles A. Smith, age 78, of Buckhannon, WV, died Saturday, June 16, 2007 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Buckhannon. He was born July 18, 1928 in Detroit, MI a son of the late Charles A. Smith and Carrie Smith Nalle. On June 17, 1967 he married Alicia J. Lomas who survives. Also surviving are several cousins. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one brother, Ernest Smith. Mr. Smith was a member of the Temple Baptist Church in Detroit. He was a laundry worker and was employed by the Palace Quality Laundry in Detroit. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Thursday, June 21, 2007 at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home with the Rev. Gary Stackpole officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the funeral hour. Burial will follow at the Bethel Cemetery at Audra, WV. Poling- St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Thomas Junior Sargent
Thomas Junior Sargent, age 34, of Belington, WV died Friday, September 21, 2007 at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, WV. He was born August 26, 1973 in Upshur County a son of Thomas J. and Linda (Anderson) Sargent. He was preceded in death by his wife Mary Jane Sargent. In addition to his parents he is survived by a sister; Judy Light and husband Willie of Buckhannon, WV; maternal grandfather, Walter Anderson of Alton, WV and a nephew, Patrick Light of Buckhannon. He was a line foreman for Armstrong Flooring. Friends will be received 6-8 PM, Sunday, September 23, 2007 at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 10 AM, Monday at the funeral home with Pastor Rick Cutright. Burial will follow at the Boggs Cemetery at Eden, WV. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Marguerite Lee Sipe
Marguerite Lee Sipe, age 74 of Weston, WV died Wednesday, September 26, 2007 at Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital in Weston. She was born on June 6, 1933 at Ten Mile, WV, a daughter of the late George and Claris Harris Tenney. She was married to Creed Winford Sipe who preceded her in death on March 9, 1989. She is survived by four sons; Robert Wayne Sipe and wife Crystal of Weston, Terry Sipe and wife Carolyn of Buckhannon, WV, Ricky Sipe and wife Brenda of Buckhannon, and Ray Sipe of Weston; eight daughters, Patty Landis of Buckhannon, Carolyn Sue Sipe of Weston, Susan Jean Coogle of Mannington, WV, Anita Madison and husband Clay of Statesville, NC, Judy Redding of Harmony, NC, Barbara Jones and husband of Barry of York, SC, Dottie Gilbert and husband Tony of Union Grove, NC, Donna Sprouse of Weston, Betty Sipe and husband Mike Nuzum of Buckhannon, 30 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, one brother Cecil Tenney of Fairmont, WV, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by one son, Dusty Sipe and one sister, Frances Ocheltree. Mrs. Sipe was a homemaker. Friends will be received 10 to 11 AM, Friday, September 28, 2007 at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 11 AM on Friday at the funeral home with the Reverend Wease Day officiating. Burial will follow at the Ten Mile Baptist Cemetery. James Stephen Seidl
James Stephen Seidl, age 27, of Buckhannon, WV died Saturday, October 20, 2007 at his home. He was born January 4, 1980 in Tallmansville, WV, a son of Joseph E. Seidl and Teddi Burr Seidl of Philippi, WV. Also surviving are his biological father, James E. Westfall and wife Wilma Westfall of Buckhannon; one brother, Donnie Thomas of Allentown, PA; five sisters, Alethea Seidl of Gainesville, FL, Terri Snyder of French Creek, WV, Megan Westfall, Rebecca Young and Teresa Summers all of Buckhannon; long time friends, Jonathan, Judy & John Haskins and Bryan Spencer all of Buckhannon and Evan Smith of Morgantown, WV; maternal grandmother, Floy Sis Burr of French Creek; paternal grandparents, Robert and Wilma Durnal of Philippi, WV and paternal grandmother, Madeline Thomas of Buckhannon; paternal grandfather, Joseph M. Seidl of Philippi and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Oney and Rose Westfall and maternal grandfather, Howard Burr. Mr. Seidl was a Roustabout for John Haskins Oil & Gas. He loved hunting and fishing. Friends will be received Tuesday, October 23, 2007 from 4-9 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held 2 PM Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Clifford Shaw and the Rev. J. Edward McDaniels officiating. Burial will follow in the Heavner Cemetery. Mary Avis (Teter) Shreve
Mary Avis (Teter) Shreve, age 82, of Buckhannon, WV died Wednesday, October 31, 2007 at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, WV. She was born January 26, 1925 in Buckhannon, a daughter of the late Claude Wesley and Grace Reeder Teter. On May 3, 1947 she married Calvin Miles Shreve who survives. Also surviving are two sons, Alan L. Shreve and wife Connie of Buckhannon and Dennis M. Shreve and wife Kenette of Clarksburg, WV; four grandsons, Mark Shreve of Bridgeport, WV, Brent Shreve of Ashville, SC, Michael Shreve of Buckhannon and Aaron Shreve of Delaware, OH; one granddaughter, Sarah Boston of Marysville, OH; five great-grandchildren and one sister, Wilda McGough of Columbus, OH. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Brian N. Shreve and one brother, Howard Teter. She was a manager at Moore Business Forms and a member of the Reger Chapel United Methodist Church. She was a 50 year member of the BPW, a member of the Reger Chapel United Methodist Women, American Legion Auxiliary, Church Women United and WVWC Emeritus Club. She was also a former 4-H leader and a volunteer at the Upshur Parish House. Friends will be received from 5-9 PM, Friday, November 2, 2007 at Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 2 PM, Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Richard Ogden officiating. Burial will follow in the Reger Chapel Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Upshur Parish House, 68 College Ave., Buckhannon, WV 26201. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Pamela M. Schneeman
Pamela M. Schneeman, nee West, age 63, of Clayton, NJ, died on Thursday, November 1, 2007 at her home after a long illness. She was born in Elkins, WV, raised in Buckhannon, WV and formerly of Shamong, NJ; she was a resident of Clayton for the past 9 yrs. She was a graduate of Buckhannon-Upshur High School, Class of 1962, and West Virginia Wesleyan College Class of 1966. Pam enjoyed cooking, baking, going to the Casinos, the beach and beach music. She worked at the Pic-A-Lilli Restaurant, Shamong, NJ for over 10 yrs. She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer Franklin Buck and Nell Jayne West. She is survived by her beloved husband for 41 yrs., Jim A. Schneeman, and her devoted children, Jim A. (Jennifer) Schneeman II of Medford Lakes, NJ and Erika (Kenneth) Ressler of Cary, NC. Her loving grandchildren, Drew and Matthew Schneeman, and Olivia Ressler. Her dear sisters, Jenny Lynne West of Lynchburg, VA, Linda Lee Pertz of Weston, WV and Jane Ralston of Greensboro, NC. Graveside services will be held 10 AM Tuesday, November 6, 2007 at the Heavner Cemetery. Contributions may be sent to Samaritan Hospice, 5 Eves Dr., Suite 300, Marlton, NJ 08053.
