Melva Kathleen Lesondak
Melva Kathleen Lesondak, age 89 of Buckhannon, WV died Wednesday, February 1, 2012 at the home of her daughter in French Creek, WV. She was born September 23, 1922 in Buckhannon, a daughter of the late Lee and Leilah Virginia Dean Miles. On March 31, 1946 she married Stephen Thomas Lesondak who preceded her in death on July 7, 1997. She is survived by two daughters Lesa Guthrie of French Creek, and Joyce Freeman of Buckhannon; three sons, Stephen Lesondak, Jr. and wife Glenna of Hazard, KY, Lawrence Lesondak and wife Patricia and Patrick Lesondak and wife Jeanie all of Buckhannon; eleven grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. Mrs. Lesondak was a homemaker and a member of the Sand Run Baptist Church. Friends will be received Thursday, February 2, 2012 from 6-9 Pm at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 2 PM on Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. Donald Butcher officiating. Burial will follow at Upshur Co. Memorial Park in Tennerton, WV. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

James O. Given
James O. Given, age 81, of Buckhannon, WV died Sunday, January 31, 2010 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Buckhannon. He was born July 1, 1928 in Braxton County, WV, a son of the late Thomas and Mary Dobbins Given. On April 25, 1948 he married Naomi Miller who survives. Also surviving are two sons, Gary Given and wife Sue and Johnny Given and wife Edith all of Buckhannon; one daughter, Mary Given of Buckhannon; three grandsons, John Daniel Given and wife Jennifer, James David Given and wife Kelly and Colby Shane Given all of Buckhannon; three granddaughters, Tonya Grace Eve and husband Rick of Clarksburg, WV, Cheyenne Given and Abigail Suzanne Given both of Buckhannon; three great-grandsons, Matthew Schuyler Eve of Clarksburg, Hunter James Given and Curtis Jack Given both of Buckhannon; four great-granddaughters, Savannah Brooke Eve of Clarksburg, Lindsay Danielle Given, Jasmin Denise Given and Taylor Brooke Given all of Buckhannon and one sister, Maxine Rose of Birch River, WV. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one son, Billy Owen Given; one daughter, Levinda Jo Given; four brothers, Ralph, Wayne, John and Jack Given and three sisters, Ocie Coplin, Allie Rose and Ethel Young. Mr. Given was a coal miner for Consol Energy. He was a member and a Deacon at the Faith Baptist Church. He was also a member of the United Mine Workers Local # 1501, Franklin Lodge # 7 AF & AM and Buckhannon VFW Post # 3663. He served in the US Army. Friends will be received Wednesday, February 3, 2010 from 4-8 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 10 AM Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. Mark Davis officiating. Burial will follow in the Montgomery Memorial Park in London, WV. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Ocie Geraldine (Wright) Sothen Oldaker
Ocie Geraldine (Wright) Sothen Oldaker, age 88, of Buckhannon, WV died Thursday, March 26, 2009 at Holbrook's Nursing Home. She was born May 30, 1920 in Braxton County, WV, a daughter of the late Archie and Fannie Carder Wright. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her 1st husband, Henry Edward Sothen; 2nd husband, Francis Oldaker; three sisters, Pauline Williams, Montana Ball and Josephine Fortney; half brother, Okey Wright and stepmother, Beulah Wright. She is survived by one son, Carl Sothen and wife Carol of Buckhannon; one step daughter, Ruby Armstrong of Monaco, PA; one brother, Aubrey Wright of Philippi, WV; one grandson, Richard Sothen and wife Melissa of Buckhannon; one granddaughter, Deneta Jo Day and husband Russell of Buckhannon; three step grandsons, Roger Armstrong of Texas and David and Randy Armstrong both of Monaca; one step granddaughter, Debbie Cichoski and husband Tommy of Monaca; two great granddaughters, Tiffiny Day and Jenson Sothen both of Buckhannon; two great grandsons, Brandon Day and Caleb Sothen both of Buckhannon; several step great-grandchildren; one step brother, Denver Sothen and wife Margie of Baltimore, MD; two step sisters, Maxine Chipps of Baltimore, MD and Oreta Everson of Belington, WV; three half brothers, Robert, Donnie and David Wright all of Buckhannon; two half sisters, Bonnie Holmes of Buckhannon and Icie Harrison of Wirtz, VA and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Oldaker was a homemaker and a member of the Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church at Rock Spring, WV. Friends will be received Friday, March 27, 2009 from 6-8 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Wease Day officiating. Burial will follow in the Rock Springs Cemetery at Rock Springs, WV. Poling-St.Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Pat Richard Gould
Pat R. Gould, age 75, of the Glady Fork community died Friday, May 14, 2010 at his home. Mr. Gould was born January 8, 1935 in Eden, WV a son of the late Ralph and Della Powers Gould. On January 3, 1956 he married Louise J. Lane who survives. In addition to his wife he is survived by one daughter, Patricia A. Perrine and husband Jacky N. of Buckhannon; two sons, Pat Richard Gould, Jr. and companion Sandi House of Port Richey, FL, and Ralph Everett Gould and Companion Lavonna Goodwin of Buckhannon; 13 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; three brothers Max Gould and wife Irene of MD, Ken Gould and Wife Janet of Grafton, WV, and Ted Gould and wife Rhonda of Volga, WV one sister Joan Davis of Oakland, MD; and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Gould served in the US Marine Corps serving two tours of duty during the Vietnam War, also as an airplane mechanic for Air Force One and retired as a Gunnery Sergeant. After retirement he was a union carpenter and a farmer. He was a member of the Buckhannon VFW Post #3663 and the Frank B. Bartlett Post #7 American Legion. Friends will be received Monday, May 17, 2010 from 6-9 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held 11 AM on Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Nancy Killingsworth officiating. Burial will follow at the Buckhannon Veterans Cemetery. Buckhannon VFW Post #3663, Frank B. Bartlett Post #7 American Legion, DAV Chapters #5 and #36 will conduct military honors at the graveside. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Glen Paul Garrison
Glen Paul Garrison, age 65, of Buckhannon, WV died Monday, June 7, 2010 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Buckhannon. He was born January 1, 1945 in Pricetown, WV, a son of the late Joseph Earl and Minnie Victoria Hurst Garrison. On November 12, 1967 he married Betty L. Alexander who survives. Also surviving are three brothers, Denver Garrison of Berlin, WV, Joe Garrison and wife Louise of Buckhannon and Bob Garrison and wife Lois of Weston, WV and one sister, Nancy Rogers of Weston. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, James Bernard and Earl Clyde Garrison and one sister, Betty Louise Garrison. Mr. Garrison was a Physcological Tester for Sharpe Hospital. He was a graduate of WVWC in 2000. He was a member of the Full Gospel Church where he was a trustee and adult Sunday School Teacher. He served in the US Army during Vietnam War and received a Purple Heart. He was also a member of the Frank B. Bartlett Post # 7 American Legion, a Life Member of the French Creek Chapter # 36 DAV and a Gideon. Friends will be received Thursday, June 10, 2010 from 4-9 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. Ralph Miller officiating. Burial will follow in the Heavner Cemetery in Buckhannon. Buckhannon VFW Post # 3663, Frank B. Bartlett Post # 7 American Legion, DAV Chapters # 5 & # 36 will conduct Military Honors at the graveside. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Ralph Goodwin
Ralph Goodwin, age 99, of Buckhannon, WV died Friday, July 16, 2010 at Clarksburg Nursing & Rehab. Center in Clarksburg, WV. He was born October 26, 1910 in Upshur County, WV, a son of the late Herman Otis H.O. and Cornelia "Nelia" Pulliam Goodwin. On November 3, 1936 he married Virginia Jones who preceded him in death on December 3, 2008. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by one grandson, David Goodwin and two brothers, Ray and Ross Goodwin. He is survived by one son, Lowell Goodwin and wife Mary Ann of Clarksburg; one granddaughter, Amber Goodwin of Baton Rouge, LA; two grandsons, Scott Goodwin of Bridgeport, WV and Darren Goodwin and wife Maurine of Clarksburg; one great-grandson, Tyler Scott Goodwin of Bridgeport; one great-granddaughter, Sydney Grace Goodwin of Clarksburg and one sister, LaVoo Hollen of Deland, FL. Mr. Goodwin was a coal miner and a salesman for Electrolux and Dutch Oven. He was a member of the Kingdom Hall Of Jehovahs Witnesses. Friends will be received Tuesday, July 20, 2010 from 3-9 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Wednesday at the funeral home with Gary Pyles officiating. Burial will follow in the Heavner Cemetery in Buckhannon. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Dorothy Jean Lewis
Dorothy Jean Lewis, age 69 of Buckhannon, WV died Thursday, March 27, 2014 at her home. She was born April 16, 1944 in Morgantown, WV, a daughter of the late Edward and Jean Ramey Teets. On March 19, 1963 she married Thomas Lee Lewis who preceded her in death on September 13, 2006. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sons Robert Allen Lewis and Thomas Lee Lewis, Jr. She is survived by two daughters, Drema Mutum of Fairmont, WV and Lisa Thompson and husband Steve of TN; one son, Daniel Ray Lewis and wife Leann of MO; nine grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren and three brothers, Edward Teets, Jr. of KS and George and James Teets both of Fairmont. Mrs. Lewis was a homemaker and Methodist by faith. Friends will be received Wednesday, April 2, 2014 from 5 to 8 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 1 PM Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. Josie Tenney officiating. Burial will follow in the Upshur Co. Memorial Park in Tennerton, WV. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Brian Paul Gay
Brian Paul Gay, age 34, of Buckhannon, WV went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 3, 2011 after a courageous battle with a brain tumor. He was born November 5, 1976 in Buckhannon a son of Charles and Donna Ingram Gay of Buckhannon, whom survive. He is also survived by his wife, Amy Barbina Gay whom he married on March 10, 2007; his only son, Brayden Paul Gay, still at home; two brothers, Jon Gay and wife Cindy of French Creek, WV and Jeff Gay and companion Sheena Yoakum of Buckhannon; two sisters, Kristina Aegan and husband Charles of Buckhannon and Jennifer Crites and husband Justin of Philippi, WV; his father in law, Bill Barbina of Clarksburg, WV; mother in law, Pamela Quickle of Bridgeport, WV; two sisters in law, Debra Radcliff and husband Scott of West Milford, WV and Jennifer Robinson and husband Walter of Nutter Fort, WV; fifteen nieces and nephews and many aunts, uncles and cousins whom he loved dearly. Brian was a member of the Horizons Church of Buckhannon. He loved hunting, fishing, shooting pistols, reloading ammunition and most of all his family and friends. We extend a special thanks to the staff at the Mary Babb Randolph Cancer Center and Dr. Alejandro Torres-Trejo for their continued care and support for Brian and his family. To St. Joseph's Hospice Care for keeping Brian comfortable and making his transition from this earth to heaven as easy as possible for him and his family. To his home health aide Traci Moul for her care, devotion and love for Brian. Friends will be received Monday, March 7, 2011 from 5-9 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held 2 PM Tuesday at the Horizon Church with Pastor Dave Cunningham, a family friend and pastor officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Weldon L. Grove
Weldon L. Grove, age 73, of Buckhannon, WV went to be with his Lord, Tuesday, April 5, 2011 at the St. Joseph's Hospital in Buckhannon. He was born April 27, 1937 in Sand Run, WV a son of Hazel L. Thayer Grove of Buckhannon and the late Basil L. Grove. On June 5, 1960 he married Carolyn Phillips who survives. In addition to his wife and mother he is survived by one daughter Nita Farrar and husband Rusty of Buckhannon; one granddaughter, Shonda Lynch and husband Patrick, of Buckhannon; two great grandsons, Alex and Logan Lynch both of Buckhannon, two great granddaughters, Ava and Taylor Lynch both of Buckhannon; one sister Mona Stoneking of Columbus, GA; one brother Larry Grove of Belington, WV and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Grove was a construction worker and served in the US Air Force. He loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing and watching football. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and was very active in the church. Friends will be received Friday, April 8, 2011 from 6-8 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. Mr. Grove will Lie in State from 1-2 PM where funeral service will begin at 2 PM on Saturday at Gods House of Deliverance on Corridor H, Rt 33 West of Buckhannon with the Rev. Sue Lowther officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Union Church Cemetery in Tallmansville, WV. VFW Post #3663, Frank B. Bartlett Post #7 American Legion, DAV Chapters #5 and #36 will conduct military honors at the graveside. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Goldie Allene Gooden
Goldie Allene Gooden, age 93, of Buckhannon, WV died Wednesday, April 20, 2011 at Holbrook's Nursing Home in Buckhannon. She was born December 22, 1917 in Ivy, WV, a daughter of the late Charles Everett and Gracie Ellen Hiner Hibbs. On September 21, 1936 she married James Clifford Gooden who preceded her in death on May 1, 1997. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one great-grandson, Oliver Quentin Dean; four sisters, Camella Hibbs Haymond, Odessa Hibbs Riggs, Joylet Hibbs Mitchell and Brenice Hibbs Mills and three brothers, Roy, French and Homer Hibbs. She is survived by two daughters, Sandra Joyce Lafferty of Bedford, TX and Marceda Grace Newman of Buckhannon; two granddaughters, Kristina Leggett and husband Tim and Mary Anne Newman all of Buckhannon; two grandsons, James Lafferty and wife Patty of Colleyville, TX and David Lafferty of Bedford; seven great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Gooden was a homemaker and a Baptist by faith. Friends will be received Monday, April 25, 2011 from 6-8 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 10 AM Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Tim Lewis officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Union Church Cemetery in Tallmansville, WV. William Melton Jones
William Melton Jones, age 61, of Buckhannon, WV died Tuesday, February 10, 2015 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Buckhannon. He was born July 19, 1953 in Tulia, TX, a son of Milbern Wayne Jones of Swisher County, TX and the late Joyce Zullen Johnson Jones. Mr. Jones did auto body work and was a Christian by faith. Friends will be received Monday, February 16, 2015 from 12 noon until 1 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 1 PM Monday at the funeral home with the Rev. Rick Wyatt officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Union Church Cemetery at Tallmansville, WV. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to help with funeral expenses.
