Rachel Jane Wilcoxen Giddings, 92, of Little Hocking, Ohio, died Monday, May 30, 2005, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Parkersburg, WV.
She was born April 21, 1913, in Torch, Ohio, a daughter of the late Anne Ater McDonald.
Rachel was a housekeeper for many families in the area and was an active farmer on her farm for 60 years. She was a Roman Catholic by faith.
She is survived by a sister-in-law, Leona McDonald of Parkersburg, WV; seven grandchildren, David Wilcoxen and his wife, Jackie, of Little Hocking, OH, with whom she made her home; Elizabeth White, of Mineral Wells, WV, Paul Wilcoxen of Little Hocking, OH, Rodney Wilcoxen, Kevin Wilcoxen and Derek Wilcoxen, all of Jacksonville, Fla., and Nathan Wilcoxen of Little Hocking, OH; several great-grandchildren; and a daughter-in-law, Rhonda Wilcoxen of Little Hocking, OH.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Delmond Wilcoxen; her second husband, Willis Giddings; two sons, William and Dana Wilcoxen; one brother, William McDonald; and one sister, Kate McDonald.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 3, 2005 at Tatman Funeral Home, 220 Main St. Belpre, Ohio, with Father David Huffman officiating. Burial will be in Rockland Cemetery in Belpre. Friends may call from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, June 2, 2005 and until time of services Friday at the funeral home.
A. Laco McCoy
Almond Laco 'Mac' McCoy, 77, of Parkersburg, WV passed away Sunday, May 29, 2005 at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital.
He was born March 23, 1928 in Wirt County, WV, a son of the late Clarence and Lula Burdette McCoy. Almond was previously employed for 25 years at the O'Ames Company in Parkersburg and retired after 40 years of service from the U.S. Postal Service. He was a member of Blennerhassett Church of the Nazarene, formerly Marrtown Nazarene.
Surviving is his wife of 56 years, Edna Mae Nutter McCoy; two sons and their wives, Roger L. and Lois McCoy of Guysville, OH and Randy L. and Loretta McCoy of Davisville, WV; one daughter and her husband, Ruth A. and Harold McNemar of Parkersburg, WV; one sister, Wanda Eileen Wolfe of Parkersburg, WV; eleven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers; two sisters; and one great-granddaughter.
Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 1, 2005 at the Blennerhassett Church of the Nazarene with the Reverend Bob Kniley officiating. Interment will follow at the Coolville Cemetery in Coolville, Ohio. Visitation will be from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 p.m. at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike Street, south Parkersburg, WV and one hour prior to time of services Wednesday at the church.
Melinda D. Patterson
Melinda Davis Patterson, 52, of Vienna, WV passed away Friday, May 27, 2005 at St. Joseph's Hospital.
She was the valedictorian of her 1970 Parkersburg High School class and a National Merit finalist. She graduated with honors from Fairmont State University in 1973 with a degree in mathematics. She first taught math at VanDevender Junior High School and spent the majority of her 30 year career teaching math at Parkersburg High School. Melinda enjoyed gardening, sewing, traveling and she loved her flowers and fish ponds. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends.
Surviving is her husband, Paul L. Patterson of Vienna, WV; her mother, Dorotha Davis Pritchard of Beaver, PA; and her sister, Beth Davis Prendergast of Beaver, PA.
She was preceded in death by her father, Clarence A. Davis; and her stepfather, Howard C. Pritchard, Sr.
Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 31, 2005 at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 3005 Grand Central Avenue, Vienna, WV with Pastor Chuck Ferrell officiating. Interment will follow at the Evergreen North Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 - 4 and 6 - 9 p.m. Monday and from 9 a.m. until time of services Tuesday at the funeral home.

Jean Ault
Jean Ault, 79, formerly of Lubeck and the Unity Plaza of south Parkersburg, WV passed away Friday, May 27, 2005 at Sunbridge Care and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born September 13, 1925 in Wood County, WV, a daughter of the late Frank and Agnes Allman Cale. She had worked at the American Viscose Co. and the Ohio Valley Nursing Home. She enjoyed crocheting and had attended the South Parkersburg Baptist Church.
Jean is survived by two daughters, Brenda Wigal and her husband, Gary, of Parkersburg, WV and Cindy Currey and her husband, Larry, of Washington, WV; five grandchildren, Holly, Nicole and Hilary Currey and Mary Beth and Bob Ault; two sisters, Laura Freise of Parkersburg, WV and Betty Hutson of Florida; and a daughter-in-law, Vicky Ault of Washington, WV.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. Ault; one son, Allen Ault; three brothers; and six sisters.
Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 31, 2005 at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike Street, south Parkersburg, WV with the Reverend Don Whiteman officiating. Entombment will follow in the Sunset Memory Gardens Mausoleum. Visitation will be from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Carolyn Lee Peterman
Carolyn Lee Peterman, 52, of Parkersburg, WV died Wednesday May 25, 2005, at Eagle Pointe.
She was born January 22, 1953, in Wood County, WV a daughter of Connie Wentzel Wright of Parkersburg, WV and the late Earl D. Wright, Jr. She formerly worked at Nancarrow's Drug Store and was a Baptist by faith.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, James V. Peterman; and three sisters, Patricia Lushbaugh of York, Pennsylvania, Dotty Miracle of Mineral Wells, WV and Tina Haines of Casper, Wyoming.
She was preceded in death by her father; and one brother, Kenny Wright.
Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 1, 2005 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 400 Green St. Parkersburg, WV. Burial will be in Evergreen South Cemetery. Friends may call from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Cecil Forest Morris
Cecil Forest 'Pete' Morris, 90, of Parkersburg, WV died Thursday May 26, 2005, at St. Joseph's Hospital.
He was born March 3, 1915, in Mineral Wells, a son of the late Charles Wells and Gertrude Viola Deem Morris. He was formerly employed by the FMC Corporation and retired from Smith Hardware as a warehouse manager. He was a member of the Hopewell Church of Christ and a former elder for the Lubeck Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Vada Lemon Morris; a son, Larry Russell Morris of Kodak, Tennessee; a daughter, Linda Carol Thompson of Parkersburg, WV; six grandchildren, Clint Morris, Craig Morris, Cris Morris, Kelli Morris Coleman, Matthew Cleavenger and Chad Cleavenger; and seven great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Chester Morris and Carl Morris.
Services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 28, 2005 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike St. Parkersburg, WV with Andy Robison officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen South Cemetery, Parkersburg. Loretta W. Headley
Loretta W. Headley, 89, of Vienna, WV, died Sunday, May 22, 2005 at Selby General Hospital.
She was born in Wood County, WV, daughter of the late Arlington E. and Cordellia Johnson Wile. She was formerly employed by S.S. Kresge's Department Store, Dils Brothers Department Store and the Parkersburg Silk Mill; she is a charter member of St. John United Methodist Church in Vienna, WV where she was a former church secretary. She graduated from Williamstown High School class of 1935. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Survivors include her husband of 63 years, James E. Headley; a son, Ben E. Headley of Vienna, WV; two grandchildren, Jason E. Headley of Vienna, WV and Stacy A. Booth of Belpre, Ohio; and three great-grandchildren, Zack, Jayson and Alexander.
Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 26, 2005 at St. John United Methodist Church, Vienna, WV with Rev. Earle H. Arthur, Jr. officiating. Burial will be in the Parkersburg Memorial Garden. Orpha S. Wilcox
Orpha Sarah Wilocx, 93, of Parkersburg, WV was called home to be with her Lord on Sunday, May 22, 2005, at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital in Parkersburg. She was surrounded by her loved ones in her passing.
Orphan was born March 17, 1912, in Graysville, Ohio, a daughter of the late Harry F. and Mae King Jackson. She grew up in Middlebourne/Tyler County, WV. She was a member of the Calvary Memorial Church. She enjoyed hosting and attending many of her clubs; Garden Club, Homemakers, sewing, canasta and the Rebecca's. Orpha also enjoyed working at Misty Manufacturing on Saturdays.
She is survived by her only son, Ottis F. Wilcox and his wife, Marge, of Parkersburg, WV, with whom she made her home; two granddaughters and their husbands, Pamela and Pete Myers and Becky and Ron Cheuvront, all of Parkersburg, WV; five great-grandchildren, Matthew, Samantha and Ryan Cheuvront, Adam Myers and wife, Allys, and Rebecca Myers, all of Parkersburg, WV; several nieces and nephews; and her loving pet of many years, Gretchen.
On Jan. 3, 1932, Orpha was united in marriage to Paul Newman Wilcox, who died in 1979. In addition to Paul, she was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Janice Wilcox; her two brothers, Dean T. Jackson and Robert Jackson; and one sister, Ruth Jackson Farrell.
Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 25, 2005 at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 400 Green St. Parkersburg, WV with Pastor Rob Collins officiating. Orpha will be laid to rest beside her husband, daughter and other family members at the Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Parkersburg. The family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 24, 2005 at the funeral home.
Orpha was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and will be sadly missed. Perhaps she will always be known as a dedicated mother and caregiver to her late daughter, Janice, for 60 years.
The family would like to extend special thanks to Dr. James Spychalski, Hospice, and the third floor staff at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital for their thoughtfulness, hospitality and for making Orpha's last five days as peaceful and comfortable as possible.
Dorothy A. Murray
Dorothy A. Murray, 63, of Washington, WV, passed away Saturday, May 21, 2005, at Pine View Continuous Care in Harrisville, WV.
She was born January 8, 1942, in Roane County, WV, a daughter of the late Delbert and Isabelle Davis Watson. She was a homemaker and a Methodist by faith.
Dorothy is survived by her husband, Jimmy Murray; two sons, Ricky Murray of Lumber Port, WV and James 'Ed' Murray of Parkersburg, WV; one brother, Dorsey Watson of Ripley, WV; two sisters, Jane Conley and Sue Hickman, both of Spencer, WV; and two grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister Ella Faye Watson; and one daughter, Janice Ann Murray.

Mildred M. Kreaps
Mildred M. Henderson Kreaps, age 95, of Perrysville, Ohio, formerly of Parkersburg, WV passes away Thursday, May 19, 2005 at the Colonial Manor Health Care Center in Loudonville, OH following a brief illness.
She was born November 6, 1909, in Portage County, OH, a daughter of the late Charles and Belle Roberts Henderson. Mildred was a member of the Northend Church of Christ, Ashland, OH. Before moving to Ohio in 1985, she was a member of the Marrtown Road Church of Christ, Parkersburg, WV. Mildred enjoyed quilting and craft making. She made many beautiful quilts to share with her family and friends.
She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Norman and Eleanor Kreaps of Williamstown, WV; one daughter and son-in-law, Sheila and Darwin Hardin of Perrysville, Ohio; nine grandchildren, Jacqueline Collier of Parkersburg, WV, Linda Blackwood of North Canton, OH, Kathy Greene of Lake Park, GA, Kenneth Kreaps of Carlisle, PA, Suzanne Thaler of Newville, PA, Kelly Kreaps, Bowling Springs, PA, Dawn Barton of Parkersburg, WV, Brian Hardin of Ashland, OH, and Amy Book of Perrysville, OH; nineteen great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Augustus 'Gus' Kreaps on March 13, 1972; her son, Donald Kreaps on August 30, 1989; and three brothers and seven sisters.
Services will 2:00 p.m. Monday, May 23, 2005 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike St. Parkersburg, WV with Randy Yerby, Mark Hatfield, Ted Blackwood, and Marvin Greene officiating. Clarence A. Davis
Clarence A. Davis, 74, of Belpre, Ohio passed away Wednesday, May 18, 2005 at the Marietta Memorial Hospital.
He was born December 3, 1920, in Creston, WV, a son of the late Lon and Minnie Shimer Davis. Clarence was retired from the local 189 Plumbers and Pipefitters in Columbus, Ohio. He was a member of the South Parkersburg Baptist Church; a member of the Grand Chapter of Royal Arch Masons of Ohio and De Molay Knights Templar; both of Tiffin, Ohio; a member of the Zenobia Shriners of Toledo, Ohio; a member of the Grand Council Royal and Select Masons of Ohio; a lifetime member of the DAV; and a U.S. Army veteran.
Surviving is his wife of 55 years, Delores Mulinex Davis of Belpre, Ohio; two daughters, Marilyn Craft and her husband, Jerry of Mansfield, Ohio, and Maureen Ramirez of Belpre, Ohio; his sister, Ethel Kirby of Mineral Wells, WV; four grandsons, Aaron Mezger of Columbus, Ohio, Jason Mezger and his wife, Dara, of Mansfield, Ohio, and Sergeant Levi Ramirez and his wife, Natiasha, of Camp Lejeune, NC, and Nathan Ramirez of Parkersburg, WV; one granddaughter, Rozalind Segoviano and her husband, Juan, of Virginia Beach, Va.; seven great-grandsons; four great-granddaughters; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Charles A. Davis and Joseph H. Davis and an infant brother, Wayne Davis.
