Parkersburg, WV
Warren Obren Pierson, 89, of Parkersburg,
W.Va., peacefully passed away at Parkersburg
Care & Rehabilitation, where he had been a
resident the past three years.
Born April 17, 1924, in Mellin, W.Va., the
eldest of 12 children to Flora E. Cooper
Pierson and Willis Russell Pierson.
Warren is survived by his wife of 29 years,
Grace Beckett Tanner Pierson; two sons, Brian
Pierson and Jeff (Nancy) Pierson; one
daughter, Becky (Jim) Dines; and three step-
daughters, Vickie (Jeff) Hildebrand, Becki
(Kevin) Miller and Debbie (Steve) Mulligan. He
is also survived by three sisters, Ora (Jim)
Yonley, Mary (Tim*) Reynolds and Carolyn
(Steve*) Shafer; two brothers, Everett
(Carolyn) Pierson and Larry (Phyllis) Pierson;
11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one
great-great-granddaughter; and many nieces and
nephews. He is also survived by his good
friend and hunting buddy, Fred Smith. Mr.
Pierson was preceded in death by his parents;
his first wife, Eveleen Laird Pierson; three
brothers, Virgil Pierson, Jessie Pierson and
Russell "Holly" (Lorraine) Pierson; three
sisters, Juanita Berry, Hilda "Cricket" Dulin
and Iwana (George) Priselac; and several
nieces and nephews.
Warren was an Army veteran and a member of
Trinity United Methodist Church. He was a
carpenter by trade for many years and retired
as a lift operator from forging plant Transue
Corp., Alliance, Ohio.
Special thanks to the management and staff of
Parkersburg Care and Rehabilitation and to
Amedisys Hospice.
Warren's passions in life included helping
others, wood working, gardening, hunting and
fishing.
The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m.
Thursday at Kimes Funeral Home, 521 Fifth
Street, Parkersburg. Pastor Dave Stilgenbauer
will officiate and burial will follow at
Sunset Memory Gardens. The visitation will
also be on Thursday from 11 a.m. until time of
the service.
Channing Thomas Duckworth
Mineral Wells, WV
Channing Thomas Duckworth, 68, of Mineral
Wells, W.Va., passed away July 28, 2013, at
Marietta Memorial Hospital.
He was born Feb. 1, 1945, in Parkersburg, a
son of the late Carl and Lucy Dello Duckworth.
Channing was a graduate of PHS, had served in
the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War, and
had retired from DuPont as an industrial
mechanic. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and
traveling.
Surviving is his wife, Dicie Tingler Phillips
Duckworth; one daughter, Tracy (John) Bunner
of Florida; two stepsons, Jeremy L. (Cindy)
Phillips of Minnesota and Jesse L. (Tonya)
Phillips of Coolville; six step-grandchildren;
and three step-great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in
death by his first wife, Tonya Duckworth; an
infant daughter, Christy Duckworth; and
brothers, Marvin, Leslie and Dale Duckworth.
There will be a graveside service at 11:30
a.m. Wednesday at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in
Mineral Wells, with Pastor Randy Kochersperger
officiating. There will be no public
visitation.

away July 25, 2013, at her home.

Wells, passed away July 22, 2013, at Arcadia

Constance Kay (Connie) Jones
Parkersburg, WV
Constance Kay (Connie) Jones, 68, of
Parkersburg, passed away July 18, 2013, at
Camden Clark Medical Center.
She was born Feb. 12, 1945 at Parkersburg, a
daughter of the late French Jackson and Mary
Virginia Pribble Smith. She was a member of
the North Fork Baptist Church and was retired
from the WV DHHR as a social worker.
Survivors include longtime companion Bill
Jones; one son James Matthew Hill (Kimberly);
one daughter Melissa Stackpole (Randy); one
brother Rick Smith and one sister Lynn Hilkey,
as well as 11 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m.
Saturday at Kimes Funeral Home, 521 Fifth St.,
Parkersburg, with Pastors Rick Perrine and
Mark Eaton officiating. Burial will follow at
the Cairo Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call
from 4-7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Ethel B Dye
Parkersburg, WV
Ethel B. Dye, 106, of Parkersburg, passed away July 18, 2013, at Worthington Manor Nursing
and Rehab.
Ethel was born July 3, 1907 in Wood County, a
daughter of the late Thomas and Ella West. She
was a member of the Belleville Church of
Christ and enjoyed and appreciated their many
visits while at Worthington, she was a Wood
County Belle, enjoyed sewing and especially
making doll clothes the last several years.
Survivors include her daughter Eleanor
Wildman; two grandchildren, five great-
grandchildren, six great great-grandchildren
and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death in addition to her
parents is her husband Clarence Dye; one
daughter Zelma Riggins, one granddaughter, two
sisters, and three brothers.
Inurnment will be at the convenience of the
family

Vivian Elena Joy Elliott
Parkersburg, WV
Vivian Elena Joy Elliott, 90, of Parkersburg,
passed away July 13, 2013, at Camden Clark
Medical Center.
She was born June 17, 1923, at Toppins Grove
in Jackson County, a daughter of the late Fred
D. and Grace Kimes Joy.
Vivian was a former member of the Willowdale
Baptist Church and current member of the 14th
Avenue Gospel Mission Church, where she was
previously active in the Ladies Guild. She was
a homemaker.
Surviving is her husband, Lawrence H. Elliott;
one brother, Dorsel D. (Phyllis) Joy of Newton
Falls, Ohio; and many nieces and nephews. In
addition to her parents, she was preceded in
death by a son, Harold Lee Ball, and a
daughter, Charlotte Ball; her second husband,
Denver Congrove; two brothers, Rev. Herndon
Joy and Rev. Leland Joy; and sisters, Delores
Puckett, Laverne King, and an infant sister.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m.

officiate. Burial will follow at the
