passed away May 23, 2012.
There will be no service or visitation.

Pamela Sue Deems Nichols
Parkersburg, WV
Pamela Sue Deems Nichols, 46, of Parkersburg,
passed away May 19, 2012 at her home.
She was born Feb. 12, 1966 in Parkersburg, a
daughter of Wilbur and Ruth Ann Wilson Deems
of Parkersburg. She was a member of the Narrow
Gate Baptist Church and had owned the Golden
Rays Tanning Salon in Vienna. She was a member
of the American Legion Auxiliary and enjoyed
kayaking, fishing, skiing and especially
cooking.
Surviving is a son, Jared T. (Krystle Earl)
and a daughter, Mikala E. Nichols, both of
Parkersburg; one brother, Mark A. Deems and a
sister, Kelley Deems, both of Parkersburg; her
aunt, Carolyn Virtue of Washington, W.Va.;
some nieces and nephews and cousins; and her
good friend and fishing buddy, Joe Young.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m.
Friday at Kimes Funeral Home, 521 5th Street,
Parkersburg with Pastor Steve States
officiating and burial following at the Shiloh
Cemetery. The visitation will be on Thursday
from 4-8 p.m. and an hour prior to the service
on Friday.
Nada M Norman Steed
Philadelphia, PA
Nada M. Norman Steed of Philadelphia, Pa.,
formerly of the Parkersburg area, passed away May 17, 2012 in Pennsylvania.
She is survived by sons, Larry V. and Jack N.
Steed and daughter, Evelyn J. Acklie; 10
grandchildren; and several great-and great
great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband,
Adnrew C. Steed.
The funeral service will be held 11 a.m.
Saturday at Kimes Funeral Home, 521 Fifth St.,
Parkersburg. Burial will follow at the Bethel
Presbyterian Church Cemetery. The visitation
will be on Friday from 7-9 p.m.
Dale Crites
parkersburg, WV
Raymond Dale Crites, 61, of Parkersburg,
passed away May 14, 2012, at Camden Clark
Medical Center, Memorial Campus.
He was born Aug. 12, 1950 at Greenwood, W.Va.,
a son of the late James R. and Juretha Smith
Crites. Dale had worked for many years at
Vienna Exxon as a mechanic and had most
recently been employed as a driver for Normans
Exterior Maintenance.
Survivors include one brother, Roger D. Smith
(Kathy) of Vienna; one nephew, Adam Smith
(Merritt) of Columbus, Ohio; one niece, Deanna
Kellison (Mike) of Parkersburg; five great-
nieces and nephews; and several cousins.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Thursday
at Kimes Funeral Home, 521 Fifth Street,
Parkersburg with Pastor Jerry Caplinger
officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset
Memory Gardens. Friends may call at the
funeral home from 5-8 p.m. today and one hour
prior to the services on Thursday.
Willard L (Cappy) Caplinger
Williamstown, WV
Willard L. "Cappy" Caplinger 84 of
Williamstwon, passed away May 14, 2012 at his
home.
He was born May 28, 1927 in Wood County a son
of the late Jess J. and Glenna (Stukey)
Caplinger.
He was a member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church
and retired as a machine tender with Johns-
Manville in 1991 with 37 and a half years of
service.
He had served in the United States Army having
first enlisted in 1946 and again in 1950. He
was also a prisoner of War for 32 months and
was a recipient of the Purple Heart.
Surviving are his 3 sons, Michael L Caplinger
and David L. Caplinger both of Williamstown
and Steven M. Caplinger of Parkersburg.
He was a brother to Richard, Alpha, Vernon,
Loretta, Betty, Opal and Irene.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Margie
A. Stilgenbauer Caplinger.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM
Wednesday at Kimes Funeral Home, 521 5th
Street Parkersburg, Reverend David Carpenter
and Pastor Rick Brown will officiate and
burial will follow at Evergreen South Cemetery with military riets conducted by the American
Legion Post # 15.
The visitation will be from 6-8 PM on Tuesday
(today) and an hour prior to the service on
Wednesday.
William A Weekley
Titusville, FL
William A. Weekley, 74, of Titusville, Fla.,
formerly from Parkersburg, died May 5, 2012,
of lung cancer.
Retiring in 1992 after a 35-year career at
Pepsi Cola, he moved to Titusville, Fla.,
where he pursued his woodworking hobby.
He is survived by his wife, Jonna Weekley in
Florida; his daughter, Kimberly Weekley in
Florida; stepson, Michael Williamson in North
Carolina; grandsons, Derian Weekley in Florida
and Conner Williamson in North Carolina;
brother, Robert Weekley in Parkersburg; and
several nieces and nephews.
As per his wishes, he was buried after a
private service at Kanawha Baptist Church
Cemetery at Leachtown, W.Va.
Kimes Funeral Home was in charge of the
arrangements.
Ruth Ann Ewing Cale
Hope Hill, WV
Ruth Ann Ewing Cale, 73, of the Hope Hill
Community, passed away May 3, 2012 at her home.
She was born Jan. 6, 1939 in Wood County, a
daughter of the late Lawrence M. and Leona
Taylor Ewing. Ruth was a former employee of
Tebay Dairy and Betty Brite Cleaners. She had
played in Bowling Leagues and she truly loved
and enjoyed her grandchildren.
Surviving are four daughters, Sandy Jean
(John) Rader of Parkersburg, Bonnie Lou Cale
of Parkersburg, Judy Marie (Jeff) Miller of
Mooresville, N.C. and Kimberly Ann Coplin of
Parkersburg; four grandchildren, Jason Coplin
(Courtney), Ryan Coplin, Monica Rader and
Stephanie Rader; one great-grandchild, Makaila
Coplin; four brothers, Herbert (Arlene) Ewing
of Parkersburg, David (Lil) Ewing of Lubeck,
and George (Viki) Ewing of Lubeck and Steven
Ewing of Washington; five sisters, Mary
Hatfield in Florida, Karen (Bob) Gray of
Parkersburg, Deborah (Bob) Pennell of
Pennsylvania, Madeline Sue Ewing of
Parkersburg and Brenda (Keith) McVey of
Washington, W.Va.; and many nieces and
nephews. In addition to her parents, she was
preceded in death by her husband, Leonard C.
Cale in 1987; an infant daughter, Darlene Sue
Cale; two brothers, Lawrence Ewing Jr. and
Joseph Ewing; and a sister, Edna Rader.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m.
Monday at Kimes Funeral Home, 521 5th Street,
Evangelist David Powers will officiate and
special music will be provided by Stephanie
Robinson and her granddaughter, Stephanie
Rader. Burial will be at Sunset Memory
Gardens. The visitation will be on Sunday from
2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. and an hour prior to the
service on Monday.
