Delores Carrol Tebay, 69, of Parkersburg,
passed away at her home on June 26, 2012.
She was born May 19, 1943, in Parkersburg, a
daughter of the late Dale S. Campbell and Emma
M. Badgett Swope. Delores was of the Baptist
faith, a 1961 graduate of Parkersburg High
School, she had been employed by Union
Insulator of Parkersburg and she was a member
of Job's Daughters.
Surviving are two daughters, Robin (Michael)
Jett of Statesville, N.C. and Dawn Hammer of
Denver, N.C.; eight grandchildren, Olivia
Pratt, Jeffery and Jason Murphy, Schleena
Vargas, Jason and Anthony Hammer and Savannah
and Christopher Jett; 10 great-grandchildren;
one brother, Thomas Campbell of Parkersburg;
two sisters, Carla Buckalew of Rockport and
Tashia (William) Rubart of Rockport; and
several nieces and nephews. She is also
survived by a former son-in-law, Tony Hammer
of Parkersburg. In addition to her parents,
she was preceded in death by a son, Robert
Flannery; and her step-mother, Bernice
Campbell Wagoner.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m.
Friday at Kimes Funeral Home, 521 5th St.,
Parkersburg. Rev. Carl Radcliff will officiate
and burial will follow at Sunset Memory
Gardens. The visitation will be from 6-8 p.m.
today and one hour prior to the service on
Friday.

Melvin Ray Channell Jr.
Parkersburg, WV
Melvin Ray Channell Jr., 64, of Res-Care on
Lakeview Drive, passed away June 26, 2012 at
the Willows Nursing Center.
He was born Feb. 4, 1948 in Parkersburg, a son
of Juanita Hickman Channell of Vienna and the
late Melvin Ray Channell Sr. He was of the
Methodist faith.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by
two brothers, William M. (Penny) Channell and
Robert W. (Judy) Channell, all of Parkersburg;
two sisters, Linda (Michael) "Jim" Bush of
Ripley and Loretta (Donald) Gartman of
Charleston; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m.
Friday at Kimes Funeral Home, 521 5th St.,
Parkersburg. Pastor John Barker will officiate
and burial will follow at the Thorn Cemetery at Palestine in Wirt County. The visitation
will be today from 4-6 p.m. and an hour prior
to the service on Friday.
Betty W Bowser
Belpre, OH
Betty W. Bowser, 85, of Belpre, passed away June 23, 2012, at Muskingum Valley Nursing and
Rehab, Beverly, Ohio.
She was born May 31, 1927, at Parkersburg, a
daughter of the late Thomas and Opal McCrady
Rhodes. Betty had been employed with FMC in
the Coning Division and was a member of the
Elks Auxiliary.
Survivors include one son, Steven Snyder
(Donna) of Little Hocking; one daughter, Teri
(Jeremy) Life of Little Hocking; two
grandchildren, Heather Life and Jason Snyder;
three great-grandchildren, Chante Wilcoxen,
Tyson Wilcoxen and Brendon Snyder. Preceding
her in death is her husband, Warren Bowser;
and two brothers, Garland "Bub" Rhodes and
Otto Rhodes.

Tamara Aleksandrovna Parker
Parkersburg, WV
Tamara Aleksandrovna Parker, 47, of
Parkersburg, passed away June 17, 2012 at
Marietta Memorial Hospital.
She was born July 12, 1964, in Dzerzhinsk,
Belarus, the daughter of Zeoniea Maksimouich
Shinkevich of Belarus and the late Aleksander
Shinkevich.
Tamara was a former beautician and was a
member of the Russian Orthodox Church.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by
her husband, Harold Z. "Hal" Parker, Jr.; one
son, Stanislau Ivash of the home; and a
brother, Genna Shinkevich.
There will be a graveside service held at 1
p.m. Wednesday at the Masonic Cemetery at
Pennsboro. A priest with the Russian Orthodox
Church will officiate. Burial will follow.
There will be no visitation at the funeral
home.

Barbara W. Wilcox
Parkersburg, WV
Barbara W. Wilcox, 69, of Parkersburg, passed
away June 17, 2012, at Marietta Care and
Rehabilitation Center.
She was born Nov. 19, 1942, in Parkersburg,
daughter of the late Robert J. and Mildred N.
Brookover Wright.
Barbara was a graduate of Parkersburg High
School and Glenville State College. She was a
teacher for the Wood County School System and
later became a caseworker with the West
Virginia Department of Health and Human
Services. She enjoyed playing bridge and bingo.
She is survived by her former husband, Dwayne
Wilcox, and a son, Derrick Wilcox, both of
Marlington, W.Va.; one granddaughter, Shanea
Maholic, and her beloved grandson, Cody
Wilcox, both of Parkersburg; two brothers,
Larry (Donna) Wright of Belleville and Robert
Wayne (Norma) Wright of Belpre; and nieces and
nephews Pamela Newell, Wendy Shriver, Jason
Wright, Dustin Wright and Andrew Emerick.
She is also survived by a special friend,
Teresa Maze, and three special friends she
made while a resident of the care center,
Phyliss Romine, Andy Jackson and Cannie
Lemasters.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded
in death by a son, Nicholas G. Wilcox.
The funeral service will be 2:30 p.m. Tuesday
at Kimes Funeral Home, 521 Fifth St.,
Parkersburg, with the Rev. Scott Stewart
officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset
Memory Gardens. Visitation will be Tuesday
from noon until time of service.
Vera Jean Kirk Byrd
Washington, WV
Vera Jean Kirk Byrd, 76, of Washington, W.Va.,
passed away June 15, 2012 at her home.
She was born Nov. 16, 1935, in Wood County, a
daughter of the late George Edward Kirk and
Juanita Faye Deem Kirk Davis. Jean was a
graduate of PHS and had retired from the Ames
Company as a clerk. She enjoyed camping and
boating.
Surviving is her husband, Russell Byrd; one
son, Kirk Garnett Madison of Houston, Texas.;
one step-son, Russell Alan Byrd of
Parkersburg; and a step-daughter, Kimberly
Ruth (Alex) Alexander of Bonnersferry, Idaho;
five grandchildren, Missy (Mark) Waggoner,
Linda Joyce Cutwright, Brian Cutwright, Sarah
(Clay) Yancey and Jennifer Mayo; 13 great-
grandchildren; and three great-great
grandchildren; six brothers, Harold (Margie)
Kirk of Belpre, Romie (Eleanor) Kirk of
Augusta, W.Va., William "Bill" (Lynda) Kirk of
Parkersburg, Richard (Joann) Kirk of
Washington, W.Va., Wayne (Marilyn) Kirk of
Mineral Wells and John Kirk of Washington,
W.Va.; two sisters, Macel (Carroll) McGinnis
of Cairo and Edna Mae (Donald) Dailey of
Parkersburg; and many nieces and nephews. In
addition to her parents, she was preceded in
death by her first husband, George Albert
Madison; two daughters, Brenda Darlene Yocum
and Janet Sue Stone; a granddaughter, Tracy
Crowe; a brother, Jerry Kirk; an infant
brother, David Kirk; and a sister,
Eleanor "Jake" Kirk.
The funeral service will be held 11 a.m.,
Monday at Kimes Funeral Home, 521 Fifth
Street, Parkersburg, Rev. Danny McVey
officiating and burial will follow at
Parkersburg Memorial Gardens. The visitation
will be on Sunday from 2-8 p.m. and an hour
prior to the service on Monday.
