Gussie Eugene (Guss) (Gene) Kidder, 81, of
Parkersburg, passed away July 9, 2011, at
Camden Clark Medical Center, Memorial Campus.
He was born Feb. 1, 1930, in Wood County, a
son of the late Luther C. and Shadie Lynch
Kidder.
He was a member of the North End Church of
Christ and had formerly attended the Sunrise
Congregation, was retired from O'Ames as a
truck driver, was an Air Force veteran and
enjoyed NASCAR and his church family.
Survivors include one son, Rick (Becky) Kidder
of Waverly; two daughters, Doris Sole of
Murphytown and Sharon Harmison (Denny) of
Ravenswood; two sisters, Anna Townsend of
Murphytown and Louise Jones of Stillwell;
grandchildren, Kristi Sole, Robert Sole, Amy
Hanlon (Chris) and Jon Kidder (Marita); two
step grandchildren, Denny Harmison II and
Sarah Kight (Richie); great-grandchildren,
Kylie Kidder and Elliana Hanlon; and step
great-grandchildren, Lauren Harmison, Levi
Harmison, Drake Kight and Evan Kight.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in
death by his wife, Anna Lucille Kidder in
2009; one brother, William Kidder; one sister,
Jan Barrett; and a son-in-law, Ron Sole.
Funeral services will be 8 p.m. Thursday at
Kimes Funeral Home, 521 Fifth St.,
Parkersburg. The family will receive visitors
from 2-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Virginia Wilhelm Smith
Parkersburg, WV
Virginia Wilhelm Smith, 94, of Parkersburg,
formerly of Nitro, W.Va., passed away July 6,
2011 at the Arbors of Marietta.
She was born June 23, 1917 at Belleville,
daughter of the late John and Verna Sewell
Wilhelm. A protestant by faith, Virginia
retired from Parkersburg Steel and was a
member of the VFW Auxillary. She enjoyed
flowers, bingo and people watching.
Surviving is one son, Carl Smith (Jean) of
South Charleston; one granddaughter, Erica
Smith; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded
in death by her husband, Carl G. Smith in 1986
and a brother, Harold Wilhelm.
Funeral Service will be held 2 p.m. Friday at
Kimes Funeral Home 521 5th Street Parkersburg
with Pastor John Barker officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens. The
family will receive visitors from noon until
service time of Friday.
The family would like to thank Virginia's
caregiver, Tamra Reynolds, for her service.
Mary Catherine Liberati
Parkersburg, WV
Mary Catherine Liberati passed into Heaven on
July 1, 2011. She was carried by the Angels
who constantly watched over her.
She was born April 15, 1945, to Charles E.
Palmer and Frances Buck Palmer in Clarksburg,
W.Va. She was predeceased by both her parents
and her stepmother, Dorothy Palmer.
Mary is survived by her husband of 40 years,
Robert Lee Liberati; two children, Melissa
Renae Campisi with husband, Daniel, and Jason
Keith Liberati, with wife, Angie. She is also
survived by her brother, Charles E. Palmer
with wife, Susan; several cousins, nieces and
nephews; and four beautiful grandchildren whom
she loved, adored and cherished, Amanda and
Stephen Campisi of Garrisonville, W.Va., and
Cody Wandling and Matthew Liberati of
Gallipolis, Ohio.
Mary had a lifelong love for children, animals
and flowers. She lovingly raised her own two
children and cared for many others during her
years as a day care provider. She is still
loved by one and all.
Her yard at home is filled with flowers that
she lovingly tended each and every year. The
only thing prettier than the flowers was
Mary's smile as she watched them bloom.
In her later years, Mary crocheted many
blankets for family and friends. She made each
one beautiful just with her loving touch and
eye for color.
She was loved by all in her family, both young
and old, and worked tirelessly to keep family
ties strong through constant phone calls and
frequent letter writing.
At Mary's request, there will be no services.
A memorial dinner may be announced at a later
date.
Charles Thomas Lemley
Rockport, WV
Charles Thomas Lemley, 75, of Rockport, passed
away June 29, 2011, at his home with his wife
and daughter by his side.
He was born July 24, 1935 in Jackson County, a
son of the late Darrell and Tennie Wells
Lemley. Charles was of the Protestant Faith
having attending various local churches over
the years.
He retired from the A.B. Chance Company and
prior to that was a 23 year employee of Owens-
Illinois. Charles enjoyed farming and loved
deer hunting.
Surviving is his wife of 24 years, Phyllis
Larimore Lemley; one daughter, Judy (Danny)
Knopp of Parkersburg; one stepson, Brent
(Rosemary) Muskin of Kansas City, Mo.; five
grandchildren, Catrina (Jimmy) Cunningham,
Todd (Becca) Knopp, Troy Knopp, Monica Lemley
and Charlie Powell and eight great-
grandchildren; one brother, Phillip (Connie)
Lemley of Rockport and one sister, Evelyn Life
of Rockport. He is also survived by special
friends, The Bonnett Family and his god
daughter, Angel Bonnett.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in
death by his first wife, Regina Marie Lemon
Lemley; one son, Charles Randall Lemley; one
daughter, Shelia Nichols and a brother, Lawson
Lemley.
The funeral service will be held on Saturday,
2 p.m. at Kimes Funeral Home, 521 Fifth
Street, Parkersburg, Pastor Tim Burch will
officiate and burial will follow at the
Rockport Cemetery. The visitation will be from
2-4 and 6-8 p.m. today.
Thomas Edward Seebaugh
Parkersburg, WV
Thomas Edward "Tom" Seebaugh, 81, of
Parkersburg, passed away June 19, 2011, at
Thomas Memorial Hospital in South Charleston.
He was born Aug. 4, 1929, in Parkersburg, a
son of the late Everett and Elsie Keller
Seebaugh.
Tom was a graduate of Parkersburg High School
and a member of Edgelawn United Methodist
Church. He retired from the United States Army
having attained the rank of Staff Sergeant
(E6) and he had served in the Korean War. Tom
also was employed and retired from the Wood
County Board of Education. He was a former
member of both the Blennerhassett and the
Eastwood volunteer fire departments and was an
amateur ham radio operator.
Surviving is his wife, Iona Schreckengost
Seebaugh; two sons, Richard "Rick" (Laura)
Seebaugh of Davisville and Randy (Jo Ellen)
Seebaugh of Vincent, Ohio; one daughter,
Janice (Jim) Boston of Coolville, Ohio; three
grandchildren, Julie Seebaugh of Belpre, Rick
(Candice) Seebaugh of Belpre and Amy (Bob)
Moore of Coolville; two step-grandchildren,
Sean Brady and Richard Brady, both of
Marietta; three great-grandchildren, Kursten
Meadows, Logan Meadows and Memphis Moore; two
brothers, Robert "Bob" (Linda) Seebaugh of
Parkersburg and Jim (Elaine) Seebaugh of
Berwick, Maine; two sisters, Barbara (Wayne)
Bargeloh and Myrtle Deems, both of Mineral
Wells; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in
death by a sister, Pearl Miihlbach; a niece;
and a nephew.
The funeral service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday
at Kimes Funeral Home, 521 Fifth St.,
Parkersburg. Pastor Cindy Eakle will officiate
and burial will follow at Evergreen South
Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4-8
p.m.
