Hyacinth Juanita Blankenship Mathers, 82, of
Archdale, N.C., formerly of Parkersburg, passed
away at the Graybrier Nursing Home on Feb. 7,
2011, what would have been her and her late
husband's 42nd wedding anniversary.
She was born Oct. 13, 1928, in Parkersburg, a
daughter of the late John H. and Margaret H.
Corbitt Blankenship. She was a graduate of
Parkersburg High School and was employed with
The Guard Cleaners for 25 years.
Juanita was a member of the Gospel Baptist
Church at Archdale and a former member of
Trinity United Methodist Church in Parkersburg
where she was a member of the Margaret Hill
Circle of the United Methodist Women.
Surviving is one daughter, Terri Garretson
Moore (Ray) of Archdale, where she had made her
home for the past seven years; one son, Gary
Garretson (Michele) of Little Hocking, Ohio;
three grandchildren; two stepgrandsons; three
stepgreat-grandchildren; three sisters, Polly
Runion of Boaz, Dottie (Charles) Miracle of
Vienna, and Nancy Davis of Melbourne, Fla.; and
several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in
death by her husband, Edwin Mathers; a sister,
Mary Leota Reed; and a brother, Bryan Delmont
Blankenship Sr.
The funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Friday
at Kimes Funeral Home, 521 Fifth Street,
Parkersburg. Pastor Dave Stilgenbauer will
officiate and burial will follow at Evergreen
North Cemetery. The visitation will be from 2-4
and 6-8 p.m. today.

James Edwin Beymer
Marietta, OH
James Edwin Beymer, 97, of Marietta, passed
away Feb. 7, 2011, at his son Douglas's home
where he had been residing since 2005.
He was born April 6, 1913 in Sandyville,
W.Va., a son of the late James Garfield and
Jeanette Blair Beymer.
James graduated in 1932 from Gilmore High
School at Sandyville where he was senior class
valedictorian.
He was employed by the Civilian Conservation
Corps from 1934-36 and then attended Mountain
State Business College. He then went to work
for the Wood County Bank and later went to
Baltimore, Md. where he worked at the Maryland
Trust Co. James then joined the U.S. Army Air
Corps having served 25 months in England where
he met his wife to be, Eva Bullock whom he
married in Parkersburg in 1946.
Returning to Parkersburg, he once again was
employed with Wood County Bank, having retired
in 1978. He had lived in various cities in
Florida following his retirement.
Mr. Beymer was a member of Christ UM Church in
Marietta, had been a member of Roseland UM
Church at Sabastian, Fla. and had been a
longtime member of Stout Memorial UM Church in
Parkersburg.
He was a lifetime member of the Independent
Order of Odd Fellows Lodge #7 of Parkersburg
and the Rebekah Lodge.
Surviving are two sons, Douglas James Beymer
(Elizabeth) with whom he resided and Charles
Edwin Beymer of Jacksonville, Fla.; four
grandchildren, Becky Carder, Kris Fleming
(Thomas Sr.) of Chesapeake, Va., Jeffrey
Beymer of Marietta and Eric Beymer (Cortney)
of Athens; five great-grandchildren, Thomas
Fleming Jr., Briana Fleming, Christopher
Fleming, Damien Carter and Maxwell Beymer; two
sisters, Margaret Evelyn Houchen and Virginia
Stanley, both in Jackson County, and a number
of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in
death by his wife, Eva Bullock Beymer in 1988;
brothers, Russell and Richard Beymer; sister,
Freda Hopkins and stepdaughter, Una Carder.
A memorial service will be held later this
month and will be announced. Inurnment will be
at Evergreen North Cemetery.

Belleville, WV
Harley Junior "George" Waggoner, 69, of
Belleville, passed away Feb. 1, 2011, at St.
Joseph's Hospital.
He was born Aug. 21, 1941 at McFarland, a son
of the late Harley L. and Esther Davis
Waggoner.
He was a member of the International
Brotherhood of Electrical Workers and had
served in the United States Army during the
Vietnam War time.
Surviving is his former wife and mother of his
children, Grace L. Small Waggoner; sons,
Harley B. Waggoner (Shelly Shaffer) of
Parkersburg; Harvey E. Waggoner (Connie) of
Parkersburg and Anthony J. Waggoner of
Belleville; daughters, Regina J. L. Sams (Mike
Chadock) of Belleville and Selina G. Waggoner
(Tom Duley) of Parkersburg; 12 grandchildren;
and 19 great-grandchildren; brothers, Fred
Waggoner of Valley Mills, Francis Waggoner of
Parkersburg, Kenneth Waggoner of Mineral
Wells, and Gene Waggoner of Harrisville;
sister, Karen Yeater of Parkersburg and
several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in
death by a great-grandson, Devin R. Sams.
The funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Friday
at Kimes Funeral Home, 521 Fifth Street,
Parkersburg. Pastor Scott Morehead will
officiate and burial will follow at the
Wadesville Cemetery. The visitation will be
from 5-8 p.m. today.
Mary Ann Hall Bolen
Parkersburg, WV
Mary Ann Hall Bolen, 60, of Parkersburg,
passed away Jan. 26, 2011, at Camden-Clark
Memorial Hospital.
She was born Dec. 8, 1950 in Parkersburg, a
daughter of the late Virgil and Ila Belle
Gregory Hall.
Mary Ann had worked as a dietary aide at the
Eagle Pointe Nursing Facility.
Surviving is her daughter, Miranda Dawn Bolen
of Parkersburg; a grandson, Cammer Franklin
Gayle Bolen; two brothers, Frank Hall (Geneva)
and Virgil Hall all of Parkersburg; three
sisters, Mildred Morgan (Cecil), Brenda Hall
(Wayne) and Norma Green all of Parkersburg; a
sister-in-law, Beverly Hall of Parkersburg;
best friends, Connie Brown, Charlene Weaver
and Chris Raney all of Parkersburg; several
nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded
in death by three brothers, Harlan Hall,
Charles Hall and Norman "Ponch" Hall.
The family will have a private memorial
service at a later date.

Mary Ruth Lemon
Windy Ridge Community, Wv
Mary Ruth Lockhart Lemon, 79, of the Windy
Ridge Community, passed away Jan. 22, 2011, at
Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital.
She was born March 31, 1931, at Sandyville in
Jackson County, a daughter of the late Noel
Hubert and Ida May Brotton Lockhart.
Mary has worked as a cook at Seddon's
Restaurant.
Surviving are four sons, Robert "Bob" Lemon of
Parkersburg, Larry Lemon of Bluefield, W.Va.,
Tom Lemon (Denise) of Snellville, Ga., and
Dale Lockhart (Darlene) of Rutledge, Ga.; four
daughters, Nancy Allen of Parkersburg, Tammie
Gayheart of Tallassee, Ala., Linda (Terry)
Williams of Parkersburg and Beverly (Rex)
Kinney of Parkersburg; several grandchildren,
great-grandchildren and great-great-

officiate and burial will follow at Sunset
