Earl McDonald Hayes Jr., 60, of Parkersburg,
passed away Monday evening, April 12, 2010, at
St. Joseph's Hospital.
He was born April 6, 1950 in Wood County, a
son of the late Earl M. Hayes Sr. and Juanita
Grace Allen Wright and he was a stepson to
Wilbert D. Wright of Parkersburg.
Earl was a member of the South Parkersburg
Baptist Church, was a United States Air Force
Veteran and had retired from Cloverdale Meat
Packing Company with 17 years of service.
In addition to his stepfather, he is survived
by his wife, Judith K. "Judy" Cox Hayes; one
son, John E. (Alisha) Hayes of Belleville; one
daughter, Cathy L. (Wesley) Prunty of
Parkersburg; two grandchildren, Hope Prunty
and Tessa Prunty of Parkersburg; two brothers,
Matthew (Jennifer) Wright of Parkersburg and
Ted (Sarah) Wright of Washington State and
several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in
death by a sister, Hope Hayes Dame.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m.
Friday at Kimes Funeral Home, 521 Fifth
Street, Parkersburg. Pastor Joe Busch and
Pastor Randy Cox will officiate and burial will follow at Evergreen South Cemetery.
The visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m.
Thursday.
Geraldine R. Himelright
Parkersburg, WV
Geraldine R. Himelright, 91, of Parkersburg,
passed away April 11, 2010, at Worthington
Manor Nursing Care Center. She was born Nov.
1, 1918, at Spencer, a daughter of the late
James G. and Lilly Mae Barnes Roberts.
She was a graduate of Spencer High School and
retired as manager of the Gift Shop of the
Fontana Dam Resort, Fontana, N.C. She was a
member of the Stephenson Memorial United
Methodist Church and the Ruth-Esther Circle of
the United Methodist Women.
Surviving are two sisters, Helen (Ken) Lucas
of Parkersburg, and Anna Garrity of Tarrance,
Calif., and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded
in death by her husband, George Himelright;
two brothers, Homer and Harold Roberts; and an
infant sister, Ruth.
There will be a memorial service at 2 p.m.,
Thursday at Kimes Funeral Home, 521 Fifth St.,
Parkersburg.
The Rev. Terry Alvarez will officiate and her
ashes will later be inurned at the Eventide
Cemetery at Spencer. The family will receive
friends at the funeral home beginning one hour
prior to the service time.

Gladys Irene Hale
Parkersburg, WV
Gladys Irene Hale, 94, formerly of Hemlock
Street and later a resident of Parkland Place
in Parkersburg, passed away April 5, 2010, at
Worthington Manor Nursing Facility.
She was born Jan. 15, 1916 at Belleville, a
daughter of the late Joseph R. (Cap) Hale and
Chloe Flinn Hale.
Irene was a longtime member of the North
Parkersburg Baptist Church and former member
of the Pond Creek Baptist Church. She retired
from Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital as a
Nurse's Aide and she was a member of the CCMH
Ladies Auxiliary.
Surviving is her brother, Rev. Ernest C. Hale
and his wife, Gladys Sloan Hale of Vienna; one
nephew, Roger Hale of Vienna; one niece, Linda
Myer (Joe) of Canton, Ohio.
The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m.
Thursday at Kimes Funeral Home, 521 Fifth
Street, Parkersburg. Rev. Clay Sloan will
officiate and burial will follow at the Pond
Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. The visitation
will be from noon until service time on

Lawrence Delbert Fleak
Parkersburg, WV
Lawrence Delbert Fleak, 93, of Parkersburg,
passed away Saturday morning, March 27, 2010,
at the Arcadia Nursing Center at Coolville.
He was born Oct. 27, 1916, in Wood County, a
son of the late John and Hulda Marlow Fleak.
He was a member of the Lubeck Church of
Christ, was a retired carpenter and farmer,
and was a Christmas tree grower, having sold
trees from his home for many years. He was a
member of the Wood County Farm Bureau and the
West Virginia Christmas Tree Growers
Association.
Surviving are two sons, Larry D. (Carol) Fleak
of Washington, W.Va., and Ronald L. (Cindy)
Fleak of Parkersburg; one daughter, Barbara
Fleak Cramlet of Parkersburg; nine
grandchildren, Mark Fleak, Mike Fleak, Matt
Fleak, Warren Fleak, Bill Fleak, Brad Cramlet,
Brian Cramlet, Laura Hopkins and Julie
Harrington; 10 great-grandchildren; and
several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in
death by his wife, Kathryn Sams Fleak; a
grandson, Brent Cramlet; three brothers,
Clifford Fleak, Harold Fleak and Pearl Fleak;
and a sister, Inez Grady.
The funeral service will be 1 p.m. Monday at
Kimes Funeral Home, 521 Fifth St.,
Parkersburg. Evangelists David Newberry and
Steve Fuchs will officiate and entombment will
follow at Sunset Memory Gardens. Visitation
will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. today and from noon
until time of services Monday.
Catherine Ann Wilson
Elizabeth, WV
Catherine Ann Wilson, 57, of Elizabeth, W.Va.,
went home to be with the Lord on March 23,
2010, after an extended illness.
She passed away at home surrounded by loved
ones; she had been residing with her daughter.
She was born Dec. 8, 1952, in Queens, N.Y., a
daughter of the late Byron Paul and Frances
Marie Langer Nesselroad.
Surviving is her husband, Oren Charles Wilson;
one son, Richard Lee Dillon (Monica Leigh) of
Mineral Wells; one daughter, Rebecca Teresa
Ann "Becky" Smith of Washington, W.Va.; four
grandchildren, Cody Lee Smith, Thomas Edward
Allen Smith, Forrest Ryan Barr, and Tyler
Daniel Barr; and a sister, Mary Ellen Rhodes
(Donnie) of Parkersburg.
She will be cremated and a memorial service
will be at a later date at the convenience of
the family.

assisting the family with the cremation.
Richard Samuel (Sam) Kittle
Washington, WV
Richard Samuel "Sam" Kittle, 67, of Washington
Heights, passed away March 22, 2010, at his
home.
He was born Dec. 17, 1942, in Parkersburg, a
son of the late Loren B. Kittle and Velma K.
Childers Kittle.
He was a graduate of Parkersburg High School,
was a member of the Fairlawn Baptist Church
and he retired from DuPont with 29 years of
service. He was a member of the Rebel-Rouser
Car Club and enjoyed restoring cars and trucks.
Surviving is his wife, Marjorie "Margie" Kimes
Kittle; one son, Alan D. (Eva) Kittle of
Washington; one grandson, Shane Richard
Kittle; one brother, Loren B. Kittle (Beverly)
of Little Hocking; his mother-in-law, Lottie
Lucas Kimes; brother-in-law, Tom Kimes
(Pamela); brother-in-law, David Keener; one
niece; and one nephew.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in
death by a sister, Sandra Keener.
The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday
at Kimes Funeral Home, 521 Fifth St.,
Parkersburg, Pastor Greg Varndell and his
cousin, Bob Farrar, will officiate and burial will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens. The
visitation will be Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8
p.m. and on Thursday from noon until service
time.
