Jessie Elizabeth Kelly, 89, of Parkersburg,
passed away July 19, 2009, at the Worthington
Manor Nursing Home.
She was born May 23, 1920, in Chickamauga,
Ga., a daughter of the late Hence and Loudie
Elizabeth Williams Bell.
Jessie was a member of the Cedar Grove United
Methodist Church and had worked for the Wood
County Board of Education as a secretary.
Surviving is her husband, Haven Dale Kelly;
one son, Gary D. Kelly of Reno, Ohio; two
daughters, Barbara Nonamaker (Don) of Vienna
and Susan "Kathy" Stevens (Mark) of Port
Charlotte, Fla.; six grandchildren, Elizabeth
Kelly, Stephanie Williams, Jennifer Jones,
Beth Knaus, Stacey Nonamaker and Todd
Nonamaker; and three great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m.
Thursday at Kimes Funeral Home, 521 Fifth
Street, Parkersburg. The Rev. Brian Long will
officiate. Private family committal service
will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. The
visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at
the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the
Cedar Grove United Methodist Church or to the
favorite charity of the donor's choice.
Okey H. Blosser
Parkersburg, WV
Okey H. Blosser, 73, of Parkersburg passed
away July 16, 2009, at the Arbors of Marietta.
He was born in Pocahontas County, a son of the
late Ralph and Georgia Bowers Blosser.
Okey retired from Ohio Valley Building Supply
as a truck driver.
Surviving is his son, Okey P. Blosser of
Parkersburg; two stepsons, Denzil Wright
(Earlana) of Parkersburg and Donnie Lott
(Tammy) of Marietta; a stepdaughter, Patricia
Toncray of Parkersburg; several
stepgrandchildren and stepgreat-grandchildren;
one sister, Florence Reynolds of Belpre; and
several nieces and nephews, including a
special niece, Carla Wells (Brian) of
Parkersburg.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lina
Blosser; a brother, Harry Price; and an infant
sister, Goldie Pearl Blosser.
There will be no funeral service. However,
there will be a visitation with viewing from 2-
4 p.m. Sunday at Kimes Funeral Home, 521 Fifth
St., Parkersburg. His body will then be
cremated.
Ronald E "Ron" Noe
Parkersburg, WV
Ronald E. "Ron" Noe, 65, of Parkersburg went
home to be with his Lord, from his home late
Tuesday, July 14, 2009, surrounded by his
loving family.
He was born Sept. 7, 1943, at Welch, W.Va.,
the son of the late Robert L. and Alice V.
Mullins Noe.
Ron was a member of the Fairlawn Baptist
Church and had served in the United States Air
Force during the Vietnam War. He retired with
36 years of service with the Federal Aviation
Administration in Washington, D.C., as manager
of air traffic control. He had served as tower
supervisor at Brownsville, Texas, and Topeka,
Kan., and as tower manager at Grand Forks,
N.D., and Sioux Falls, S.D., and had worked as
an instructor at the Federal Aviation Academy
in Oklahoma City, Okla. Ron was a member of
the Masonic Lodge in Kansas, loved traveling
and spending time with his grandchildren.
Surviving is his wife of 46 years, Maude
A. "Sue" Grimm Noe; two sons, Ronald E. Noe II
(Michelle) of Ft. Worth, Texas, and
Christopher L. Noe (Connie) of Topeka, Kan.;
two daughters, Maude "Gaye" Jarvis (Bill) of
Parkersburg and Alice "Mandy" McHale (John) of
Magnolia, Del.; 11 grandchildren, Brittnie
Noe, Whittnie Noe, Hailie Noe, Christopher
Noe, Max Noe, Robert Noe, Justin Matherly,
Noah McHale, Hunter McHale, Logan Ronald
McHale and Kody McHale; three great-
grandchildren, Alexxias Matherly, Mason Noe
and Kaylea Bryant; several nieces and nephews,
including special nephew, Donnie Jones, and
niece, Liz Hudson; his pet cat, "Miss Kitty";
and his dogs, "Lilly, " "Daisy" and "Brutus."
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in
death by his sister, Pola Bishop.
The funeral service will be 1 p.m. Friday at
Kimes Funeral Home, 521 Fifth St.,
Parkersburg, with the Rev. John Sallaz
officiating. Entombment will follow at the
Three Crosses Mausoleum of Sunset Memory
Gardens with military rites provided by the
American Legion Post 15 of Parkersburg. The
visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today and
from noon until service time Friday at the
funeral home.
Juanita Arnott Simmons
Parkersburg, WV
Juanita Arnott Simmons, 90, of Parkersburg,
passed away July 8, 2009, at the Wyngate
Senior Community, following a long illness
associated with diabetes complications.
She was born in Spencer, W.Va., Nov. 24, 1918,
one of 12 children of the late Eustace and
Blanche Gilpin Arnott.
Juanita had been an active member of Stout
Memorial U.M.C. and appreciated the continued
involvement of the church and its members
during her illness. She had been actively
involved in Parkersburg Woman's Club, Valley
Rose Society, and had served in several
leadership capacities in local and state
garden clubs including president of the state
garden club.
Juanita had many interests including oil
painting, quilting and various crafts, but she
is best remembered for the flower gardens that
graced her yard. She gave plants, seedlings,
and bouquets to those who stopped by or took
them to those she visited.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-
law, Karen and Larry Hickman; five
grandchildren and their spouses, Brian and
Michelle Hickman of Parkersburg, Todd and
Melissa Hickman of Upper Arlington, Ohio, John
and Laura Simmons of Chapin, S.C., Jennifer
and Matt Bullard of Lexington, S.C., and
Jeffrey Simmons of Casey, S.C.; 11 great-
grandchildren that she loved dearly including
Hannah, Henry, Claire and Emma Hickman; two
brothers, Kenneth Arnott of Dunbar, W.Va., and
Ralph Arnett of St. Albans, W.Va.; and many
special nieces and nephews. She loved her
extended family and especially enjoyed the
yearly family reunion held in Spencer at the
original Arnott family home.
Juanita was preceded in death by her husband,
Edsel C. Simmons in December 1991; a son, R.
Gary Simmons in March, 2004; three sisters;
and six brothers.
The family would like to thank the staff of
Wyngate Senior Living for the love and care
they bestowed on Juanita while she lived
there, to Carolyn Martino, her faithful
caregiver, Dr. Vickie Cox, and Hospice who
helped during her final weeks.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday,
at the Stout Memorial United Methodist Church
with the Rev. Scott Sears officiating, Burial will follow at Parkersburg Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be held from 6-9 p.m. today at
Kimes Funeral Home, 521 Fifth St.,
Parkersburg, and one hour prior to services at
the church.
Memorial donations should be made to the Stout
Memorial United Methodist church.
Paul Edwin Johnson
Mineral Wells, WV
Paul Edwin Johnson, 83, of Mineral Wells
passed away July 3, 2009, at the Willows
Nursing Center.
He was born April 1, 1926, in Wood County, a
son of the late James Franklin Johnson and
Olive Daugherty Johnson.
Paul was affiliated with the Big Tygart
Baptist Church. He retired from Kaiser
Aluminum with 30 years of service and was a
U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He enjoyed
roller skating, roller hockey and woodworking.
Surviving is his wife, Edna Louise Graham
Johnson; one son, Daniel Alvin Johnson at
home; two daughters, Sharon Weekley Walker and
her husband, Carl, of Parkersburg and Judy
Williams and her husband, Bud, of Mineral
Wells; six grandchildren, Donald Mercer, Scott
Mercer, Christopher Weekley, Patrick Dinnin,
Aaron Dinnin and Amanda Vierling; 12 great-
grandchildren; one brother, Lewis Johnson of
Mineral Wells; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in
death by a brother, the Rev. Herbert Dale
Johnson; and an infant sister, Grace Johnson.
The funeral service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at
Kimes Funeral Home, 521 Fifth St.,
Parkersburg, with Pastor Rufus Hoalcraft
officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset
Memory Gardens with military rites provided by
the American Legion Post 15. The visitation
will be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday at the
funeral home.
