Carolyn Sue Montgomery, 70, of Parkersburg,
went home to be with her Lord Monday morning,
Aug. 3, 2009. She was a patient at St. Frances
Hospital in Charleston.
She was born July 6, 1939, in Parkersburg,
only daughter of the late Scott L. and
Ernestine Bennett Brown. Sue was a graduate of
Parkersburg High School and had been an
employee of the W.T. Grant Department Store
and Brodia's Stone & Thomas as a buyer. She
was a homemaker and member of Trinity United
Methodist Church.
Surviving is her husband, John R. Montgomery;
one son, Rick Montgomery and his wife, Kelli;
one daughter, Terri Demeter and her husband,
Bart, all of Huntington; two grandchildren,
Andrew Scott Demeter and Stephanie Renee
Demeter; two brothers, Robert (June) Brown of
Little Hocking and David (Shirby) Brown of
Myrtle Beach, S.C.; a brother-in-law, David
(Diane) Montgomery of Vienna; a sister-in-law,
Pat Montgomery of Parkersburg; and several
nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded
in death by a nephew, Michael Brown.
The funeral service will be 1 p.m. Thursday at
Kimes Funeral Home, 521 Fifth Street,
Parkersburg, with Pastor Dave Stilgenbauer
officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen
South Cemetery. The visitation will be from 2-
4 and 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Melody Marie Cross Weekley
Parkersburg, WV
Melody Marie Cross Weekley, 53, of Parkersburg
went home to be with the Lord July 31, 2009,
at her home.
She was born March 13, 1956, in Wood County, a
daughter of the late Ernest C. Cross and Donna
Platt Cross Harris.
Melody was employed with Rubi's Italian Pizza
and Restaurant on Seventh Street.
Surviving are two brothers, Karl L. Church Jr.
(Christina) of Parkersburg and Brian Harris
and his fiancee, Courtney Hoard, of
Parkersburg; one sister, Kim Cross; and a
nephew and two nieces that she dearly loved,
Karl Church III, Haley Church and Hanah
Broadwater.
She was preceded in death by an infant
brother, Roger Kevin Harris.
There will be no funeral service, however,
there will be a gathering of friends and
relatives from 5-7 p.m. Thursday at Kimes
Funeral Home, 521 Fifth St., Parkersburg.
Burial of her ashes will be at a later date at
Evergreen South Cemetery.
Joseph Junior "Joe" Belcher
Parkersburg, WV
Joseph Junior "Joe" Belcher, 86, of
Parkersburg passed away July 23, 2009, at
Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital.
He was born June 12, 1923, at Ovapa, Clay
County, W.Va., a son of the late Joseph and
Julia Igo Belcher.
Joe was a graduate of Clay High School and
attended the Broadway Baptist Church in
Parkersburg. He retired from E.I. DuPont
Washington Works with 39 years of service. He
had served in First Army during World War II.
He served at the Normandy Landing and had
served in Paris, France, after the Paris
Liberation and was a lifetime member of the
VFW.
Surviving is his sister, Hattie Garrett of
Vienna; five persons that he considered as his
grandchildren, David Martin, Joe Martin,
Kriston Hubler, Cathy Hart and Becky Leap;
several great-grandchildren; nieces and
nephews, Thelma Mull, Bill Henderson, JoAnn
Morrison, Harlan Hensley, Kay Large, George
Belcher Jr., Rondell Belcher, Joan Smith,
Patsy Garrett, Wanda Wamsley and Glenda
Diller; several great-nieces and nephews; and
several cousins, including Kaye Jett (and
friend, Jerry Plougher) and Jill Jett.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in
death by his life companion of 44 years, Wana
Martin; six brothers, William "Billy" Belcher,
Eddie Belcher, Ira Belcher, George Belcher,
Charles Belcher and Virgil Belcher; and five
sisters, Joda Butcher, Bessie Henderson,
Blanche Porter, Violet Markle and Zelma Irene
Parks.
The funeral service will be 1:30 p.m. Monday
at Kimes Funeral Home, 521 Fifth St.,
Parkersburg, with the Rev. Don Yeager
officiating. The visitation will be from 2-4
and 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Burial will be at the Belcher Family Cemetery in Clay
County with graveside service at approximately
4:30 p.m. Monday with military rites.
Mary Gwendolyn Mollohan
Parkersburg, WV
Mary Gwendolyn Mollohan, 82, of Parkersburg,
passed away Thursday evening, July 23, 2009,
at the Arbors of Marietta.
She was born Oct. 21, 1926 at Danese, W.Va., a
daughter of the late John and Jessie Webster
Hanshew.
Mary was a homemaker and enjoyed working
puzzle books as a pasttime.
Surviving is her husband, Perry Orden Mollohan
of Parkersburg and current resident of the
Arbors; two sons, Perry Mollohan (Jennifer)
and Michael Mollohan (Patricia), both of
Parkersburg; two daughters, Carol Johnson
(David) of Flower Mount, Texas, and Beverly
Full (Paul) of Parkersburg; 12 grandchildren;
seven great-grandchildren; two brothers, Opie
Hanshew and Gerald Hanshew, both of Danese,
W.Va. ; and a sister, Vera Hanshew of Florida.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Edward
Hanshew; and a sister, Glenna.
The funeral service will be 11 a.m. Monday at
Kimes Funeral Home, 521 Fifth Street,
Parkersburg, with Pastor Tim Burch
officiating. Entombment will follow at
Evergreen Memorial Cemetery on Route 339 near
Belpre. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m.
Sunday at the funeral home.

Jackie Wayne Crites
Belpre, OH
Jackie Wayne "Jack" Crites Sr., 61, of Belpre
passed away Sunday, July 19, 2009, in Kanawha
County.
He was born Feb. 3, 1948, at Little Birch,
W.Va., a son of the late Elmer and Audra Frame
Crites. He worked construction as a carpenter
and enjoyed playing pool and fishing. Jack
lived his life in his own way, enjoying life
to its fullest and loved spending time with
his kids, grandkids and family.
Surviving is his wife of 40 years, Karen
Riggins Crites; one son, Jackie Wayne Crites
Jr. (Anna) of Belpre; one daughter, Carrie
Crites McCoy of Belpre; five grandchildren,
Anna Adams (Randy), Ian Blair, Joshua Crites,
Jacob Harman and Lucas McCoy; two great-
grandchildren, Hunter and Gracie Adams; seven
brothers, Caroll Crites of Cincinnati, Larry
Crites of Hockingport, Alan Crites of
Portland, Leon Crites of Belpre, Denver Crites
of Canton, Robert Crites of Belpre and Donald
Crites of Little Hocking; eight sisters, Levon
Hall of Florida, Virginia Renner of New
Martinsville, Charlotte Hall of Parkersburg,
Barb Crites of Tuppers Plains, Rose Causey of

death by a sister, Loretta "Juney" Crites.

Memorial Cemetery on Route 339 near Belpre.
