William H. "Bill" Gorrell, 84, of Parkersburg
passed away April 23, 2009, at Camden-Clark
Memorial Hospital.
He was born Aug. 20, 1924, at Ravenswood,
W.Va., the son of the late Holbert and Blanche
Mills Gorrell.
Bill retired from Krogers Grocery as a manager
with 47-plus years of service. He was a U.S.
Army veteran of World War II, attaining the
rank of Corporal and was a recipient of the
Purple Heart Medal. He bowled on the mixed
leagues at Ren Dor Lanes and enjoyed NASCAR,
hunting, especially rabbit hunting, and loved
to raise roses in his flower gardens.
Surviving are four sons, Jon Gorrell (Joanne),
Kim Gorrell (Lisa), Whit Gorrell and Todd
Gorrell (Janice), all of Parkersburg; a
daughter, Misty Lewis (Bob) of Parkersburg;
grandchildren, Abby Johnson, Cody Gorrell,
Anna Gorrell, Trevor Gorrell, Sidney Lewis and
Chad Sloan; great-granddaughters, Paige
Johnson and Taylor Sloan; two sisters, Ruth
Rhodes of Ravenswood and Maralee Cogar of
Milton, W.Va.; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in
death by his wife, Yvonne "Bonnie" Gorrell;
and a sister, Emma Fern Gentry.
The funeral service will be 11 a.m. Monday at
Kimes Funeral Home, 521 Fifth St.,
Parkersburg, with Pastor Roger Benson
officiating. Entombment will follow at the
Court of Ten Commandments of Sunset Memory
Gardens with military rites conducted by the
American Legion Post 15. The visitation will
be from 2-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Norma Jean Nesselrotte
Parkersburg, WV
Norma Jean Nesselrotte, 76, of Parkersburg,
passed away April 23, 2009, at Camden-Clark
Memorial Hospital.
She was born Sept. 28, 1932, in Parkersburg, a
daughter of the late Clarence E. and Minnie
Bell Uhl Anderson.
Norma had worked in the Meat Department of
Harold's IGA as a meat wrapper and she enjoyed
bowling and crochet.
Surviving is her daughter, Lillian K. Roush of
Parkersburg; her granddaughter, Emily Jean
Roush of Parkersburg; one brother, Clarence
Anderson (Charlotte) of Parkersburg; three
sisters, Pauline Adkinson of Phoenix, Ariz.,
Betty Scott and Shirley Schuler, both of
Parkersburg; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband,
Carriel Nesselrotte; a son, Roger E.
Nesselrotte; an infant son; one grandson,
Joshua L. Roush; two brothers, Everett
Anderson and Harold Anderson; and four
sisters, Beulah Anderson, Kathleen Burdette,
Edna Gildow and Virgie Nesselrotte.
The funeral service will be 2 p.m. Sunday at
Kimes Funeral Home, 521 Fifth Street,
Parkersburg, with Pastor Ralph Tisdale
officiating. Burial will follow at Mount
Olivet Cemetery. The visitation will be from 2-
4 and 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Edna Pearl Miihlbach
Parkersburg, WV
Edna Pearl Miihlbach, 77, of Parkersburg,
passed away April 22, 2009, at home.
She was born April 22, 1932, at Parkersburg, a
daughter of the late Everett and Elsie
(Keller) Seebaugh.
Pearl was a 1952 graduate of PHS, had been
employed at CCMH and the Parkersburg Holiday
Inn, and was a member of Grace Gospel Church
and had attended Pleasant View Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband of 47 years,
Clay; two sons, James (Teresa) and Ron
(Penny), both of Parkersburg; two sisters,
Barb Bargeloh (Wayne) and Myrtle Deems, both
of Mineral Wells; three brothers, Tom Seebaugh
(Iona) and Bob Seebaugh (Linda), both of
Parkersburg, and Jim Seebaugh (Elaine) of
Maine; seven grandchildren; and several nieces
and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded
in death by one daughter, Cindy Miihlbach; and
one son, David Miihlbach.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at
Kimes Funeral Home, 521 Fifth St.,
Parkersburg, with Pastor Roger Benson
officiating. Burial will follow at the Mt.
Pleasant Cemetery, Mineral Wells. The family
will receive visitors from 2-8 p.m. Friday at
the funeral home.
Catherine Laverne Piggott Steele
Pettyville, WV
Catherine Laverne Piggott Steele, 86, of
Pettyville passed away Saturday morning, April
18, 2009, at St. Joseph's Hospital.
She was born June 30, 1922, at Belleville, a
daughter of the late Reuben L. and Nellie
Whipkey Piggott. Laverne attended Grace Gospel
Church, retired from the West Virginia
Department of Health and Human Services and
was a former employee of American Viscose. She
was also a member of the Helping Hands
Quilting Guild.
Surviving are three sons, David D. Steele
(Connie) of Belleville and twins, Mark S.
Steele (Cynthia) of Mineral Wells and Michael
W. Steele (Tammy) of Williamstown; two
daughters, Sharon Boone (Terry) of
Williamstown and Connie Radcliff of
Charleston; eight grandchildren, Jami Whicker,
Megan Steele, Stacy Boone (fiance, Peter
Filozof), Hannah Steele, Matthew Steele
(Jennifer), Logan Steele, Alicia Perry (Shane)
and Cody Steele; three great-grandchildren,
Gracie and Dillon Perry and Joshua Steele; her
twin sister, Ferne Anderson of Parkersburg;
and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded
in death by her husband, John Edgar (Ted)
Steele on April 3, 1991; a sister,
Regina "Jean" Smith, wife of Lawrence Smith;
and a son-in-law, David L. Radcliff.
The funeral service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at
Kimes Funeral Home, 521 Fifth St.,
Parkersburg, with Pastor Richard Eaton
officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset
Memory Gardens. The family will receive
friends and relatives from 4-8 p.m. Monday at
the funeral home.

John Kenneth Nestor
Parkersburg, WV
John Kenneth Nestor, 86, of Parkersburg passed
away early Thursday morning, April 16, 2009,
at his home.
He was born Jan. 17, 1923, at Belington,
W.Va., a son of Willie T. and Goldie Thorne
Nestor.
John retired from Monongahela Power Co. with
22 years of service, was a service technician
in the refrigeration and air conditioning
business and he and his wife together owned
and operated Nestor Realty for many years. He
had served in the United States Army during
World War II and was a member of the New Hope
Baptist Church. He was a 50 plus year member
of the Parkersburg Masonic Lodge A.F.&A.M. and
the Ben Bay Grotto. He golfed with the Men's
Senior golf league at Worthington Golf Course
and he enjoyed bluegrass music, was an avid
WVU Mountaineer fan and enjoyed hunting when
he was younger.
Surviving is his loving wife, Hanna Ware
Nestor; two sons, Jerry W. Nestor (Charlotte)
of Vienna and W. Tom Nestor of Elkins; two
daughters, Patty Smith (Joe) of Parkersburg
and Kathy Marchal (Ted) of Parkersburg; 15
grandchildren, Krista Nestor, Melissa Nestor,
James Nestor (Chrissy), Tami Svacina (Brian),
Sarah Hoosier (Dennis), Jason Nestor (Alicia),
Blair Updike, Corie Updike, Tyler Nestor, Tate
Summerfield (Ryan), Sam Smith (Holly), Andy
Smith, V.J. Smith, Zane Marchal and Addie
Marchal; 15 great-grandchildren; one brother,
Alva B. Nestor in Maryland; and several nieces
and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in
death by a son, John K. Nestor Jr. "Tack";
three grandchildren, Matthew Smith, Jack
Nestor and John Nestor III; two sisters, Lila
McCartney and Wanda Fuller; an infant brother;
and two infant sisters.
The funeral service will be 1 p.m. Monday at
Kimes Funeral Home, 521 Fifth St.,
Parkersburg, with the Rev. David Easter
officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet
Cemetery. Six of his grandsons will serve as
pallbearers. The family will receive friends
and relatives from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday at
the funeral home.
