Linda Kay Lipscomb, 59, of Parkersburg passed
away Sept. 30, 2007, at her home.
She was born Oct. 2, 1948, in Parkersburg, a
daughter of the late Shirley D. and Frances
Moore Lipscomb. Linda was affiliated with the
Salvation Army and the Streams Church on Sixth
Street.
Surviving are two brothers, Roger Lipscomb of
Belmont and Butch Lipscomb of Parkersburg;
three sisters, Betty Leek, Johnnie Ferrebee
and Mary Louise Hodges, all of Parkersburg;
and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by three infant
siblings.
The funeral service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday
at Kimes Funeral Home, 521 Fifth St.,
Parkersburg, with Major Robert Reckline
officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset
Memory Gardens. The visitation will be from 4-
8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Samuel D. Dotson, 87, of Parkersburg died Sept. 23, 2007, at Camden-Clark Memorial
Hospital.

Carriel Eugene Nesselrote
Parkersburg, WV
Carriel Eugene Nesselrotte, 78, of Parkersburg
passed away Sept. 20, 2007, at Camden-Clark
Memorial Hospital.
He was born Dec. 20, 1928, in Parkersburg, a
son of the late Alfie William and Lucy
McKitrick Nesselrotte. Carriel was affiliated
with Spreading Truth Ministries and retired as
truck driver with Surface Banana Co.
Surviving is his wife, Norma Jean Anderson
Nesselrotte; one daughter, Lillian K. Roush of
Parkersburg; a granddaughter, Emily Jean Roush
of Parkersburg; two brothers, Orville
Nesselrotte of Parkersburg and Daniel
Nesselrotte of Walker; a half-sister, Hazel
Conger of Parkersburg; and several nieces and
nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in
death by a son, Roger E. Nesselrotte; an
infant son; a grandson, Joshua L. Roush; a
brother, Floyd Nesselrotte; two half-brothers,
Alfred Dailey and Gale Dailey; a sister,
Frances Collins; and an infant half-sister.
The funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at
Kimes Funeral Home, 521 Fifth St.,
Parkersburg, with Pastor Lloyd Keith
officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet
Cemetery. The visitation will be from 2-8 p.m.
today and from 10 a.m. until service time
Saturday at the funeral home.
Phillip Neal Waggy

Phillip Neal Waggy Jr., 46, of Parkersburg
passed away Sept. 17, 2007, at home.
He was born in Parkersburg, a son of the late
Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Neal Waggy Sr.
Surviving is his long time companion, Carolyn
Amy; a daughter, Tiffany Waggy; three sisters,
Lynn Shannon, Anna Kay Ferguson and Sue
Bennett; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Kimes
Funeral Home, Parkersburg. Visitation will be
from 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home
Nancy Carol Knopp
Parkersburg, WV
Nancy Carol Knopp, 62, of Parkersburg passed
away Sept. 15, 2007, at her home surrounded by
her family.
She was born March 3, 1945, at Spencer, W.Va.,
a daughter of the late John and Bergie Fox.
Nancy was a homemaker and is survived by her
husband, William Bruce Knopp; three sons,
Kevin, Johnny and Dean Conley, all of
Parkersburg; a stepson, Joshua Knopp; a
stepdaughter, Jenna McClellan, both of
Houston, Texas; seven grandchildren; one great-
grandchild; several nieces and nephews; one
brother, Robert Fox of Parkersburg; eight
sisters, Judy Barker of Florida, Sandy
Westberry of Florida, Linda White of
Massachusetts, Brenda Snider of Vienna, Tammy
McConnell of Parkersburg, Donna Daugherty of
Little Hocking, Tina Tanner of Mineral Wells
and Jackie Tanner of Parkersburg.
There will be a memorial service 7 p.m.
Tuesday at Kimes Funeral Home, 521 Fifth St.,
Parkersburg, with Pastor James Kinsler
officiating. Inurnment will be at Sunset
Memory Gardens. Friends and family may gather
at the funeral home beginning 6 p.m. Tuesday.
Darla D. (Amos) Eaton
Whitesboro, NY
Darla D. (Amos) Eaton, 75, of Whitesboro,
N.Y., passed away on Sept. 14, 2007, at Faxton-
St. Luke’s Health Care with her loving family
by her side.
She was born on Aug. 12, 1932, at Belleville,
W.Va., to the late William B. and Carrie
Burton Amos. Darla graduated from Parkersburg
High School in 1949. After graduation, she
moved to Silver Spring, Md., where she married
her husband, William G. (Buster) Eaton on July
29, 1949.
While living in the metropolitan Washington,
D.C., area, she worked as a dental assistant
at the Walter Reed Army Hospital and as a
fashion model for local clothiers. In 1952,
they moved to Columbus, Ohio, where they lived
for the next 11 years, during which time their
four children were born. In 1963, they moved
to Charlotte, N.C., and then three years
later, to Utica.
A forceful advocate for children with learning
disabilities, Darla helped win adoption of
federal legislation that established
significant educational rights for such
children. In 1967, she helped found the Mohawk
Valley Learning Disability Association and
later was elected its president for two terms.
Darla also served as a trustee of the New York
State Association for Children with Learning
Disabilities.
She was a long standing member of the
Westminster Presbyterian Church in Utica,
serving as a deacon and elder. Darla helped
found and participated in the church’s Our
Daily Bread Program, a weekly soup kitchen and
food pantry for the needy in Utica. Darla also
worked for Cornell Cooperative Extension of
Oneida County as a 4-H representative,
teaching gardening to inner city residents,
among other things. An avid reader and flower
gardener, Darla also loved to tell stories in
the grand southern tradition. She will be very
much missed by her family.
Darla is survived by her husband, William of
Whitesboro; sister, Ava Hale of Belleville;
sons, William G. (Jerry) Eaton Jr. of Atlanta
and Mark E. Eaton of Whitesboro; daughters,
Charlotte L. Eaton of Whitesboro and Elaine H.
Borek and husband, Wayne, of Ballston Spa,
N.Y.; grandchildren, Karesa C. Eaton of
Atlanta and Paul Pefferman of Savannah, Ga.;
great-grandchildren, Johnnie D. and Kieley
Eaton of Atlanta; and numerous nieces and
nephews.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Robert and Heisel Amos; and
her sisters, Olga Hale and Ila Buffington.
The local funeral service will be 1 p.m.
Saturday at the Pond Creek Baptist Church.
Pastor Clay Sloan will officiate and burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation
will be one hour prior to the service Saturday
at the church.
Kimes Funeral Home of Parkersburg is in charge
of local arrangements.
