Frederick Carl Cosner
Frederick Carl Cosner, 86, of Burnsville, WV, departed this life on Friday, March 4, 2016 at 3:35pm at home after an extended illness. He was born on May 5, 1929, the last surviving child of George Adam and Margaret Naomi Watson Cosner of Long Shoal, Braxton County.
Mr. Cosner served his country as a U.S. Marine during the Korean Conflict. He was a self-employed Timberman, Production Manager for Koppers Company and a Timber Buyer for Appalachian Timber Services.
He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Marie Allen Cosner, whom he married on December 5, 1953. He is also survived by five daughters, Wilma Cosner and Norma Nettles of Burnsville, Jan Crutchfield (Tim) of Burnsville, Annie James (Bobby) of Gassaway, Karen Brown (Joe) of Burnsville, and one son, Frederick Daniel Cosner (Priscilla) of Burnsville. Also surviving are seven grandchildren, Staci Gerwig (Brian), Caleb James (Kayla) all of Gassaway, Dustin and Cortney Crutchfield and Allison, Adam and Kenrick Cosner, all of Burnsville; two great-grandchildren, Paisley Grace James and Bentley Gerwig; many nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents, Fred was preceded in death by four brothers, George, John, William and Alva Cosner and five sisters, Jessie Carson, Anna Dyer, Mary Shaver, Viola Thayer, and Ruth Cosner. He is also preceded by his son in law, Calvert Lynn Nettles.

Family will receive friends on Monday, March 7, 2016 at the Stockert-Paletti Funeral Home, 378 Flatwoods Corner Road in Flatwoods, WV 26621 from 11:00am to 1:00pm with the funeral service following at 1:00pm with Pastor George Christopher Cosner officiating. Robert E. Stanley
Robert E. Stanley, 90, of Parkersburg, passed away April 19, 2016, at his residence under the loving care of his family and Amedisys Hospice.
He was born on January 7, 1926, in Gassaway, W.Va., one of six children of the late Wayne B. and Macel Burrows Stanley.
Robert enlisted in the US Navy at 17 and served in the Philippines aboard LST 730, 547 and 900 from 1943-1945, and then served in the US Army from 1947-1948.
He worked as a Brakeman and Conductor for the B&O/Chessie System/CSX Railroad until his retirement in 1989. Bob was a member of New Hope Baptist Church.
Robert is survived by four children, Robert Jr. “Burr” Stanley (Beth) and Wayne Stanley (Heather) of Parkersburg, Joan Brum (Tom) of Hamilton, Ohio and Christopher Stanley (Cindy) of Newport News, Virginia. Eleven grandchildren, Chevis Stanley (Kim), Cheyanne Crislip (Bryan), Zachary Stanley (Kristen), Jessica Likes (Aaron), Jared Brum (Julie), Kaisha, Sarah, Maria, Mason, Robert “Clayton” and Coleman Stanley. Two stepgrandchildren, Matt and Marlee Sexton. Ten great-grandchildren, Parker, Sutton, Landon, Cooper, Bronwyn, Emerson, Griffin, Scarlet, Judah, Conner; and two stepgreat-grandchildren, Cody and Tyler.
In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his wife of fifty-six years, Ramona Bolin in 2010; two brothers, Everett Stanley and Billy Stanley; and three sisters, Delores Hoover, Imogene Moore and Greynell Duckworth.
The funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg with Rev. Tom Stevens officiating. Burial will be at Evergreen North Cemetery with full military rites by the Navy Reserves. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today and for one hour prior to the service on Friday.

Cherrie Dale Dean
Cherrie Dale Dean, 61, of Bragg Run Rd. Burnsville passed away at 11:50 am on Friday, June 3, 2016 at her residence following a battle with cancer.
She was born in Clarksburg on March 17, 1955 a daughter of the late James Edward Demastus and Leargean Sue Jamison Demastus Rowh.
On March 17, 1973 she married her childhood sweetheart, Wm. Howard Dean, who loved her beyond words and will miss her beyond measure after 43 years of marriage.
Her generous, giving nature will be carried on by her son, Kelly Wade Dean of Burnsville; one sister, Christine Lake and husband, George, of Burnsville; five stepsiblings: John Rowh, Mary Kelly, Mike Rowh and wife, Linda, Cindy Carter and husband Clark, and Kim Heater and husband, John; several nieces and nephews; and her loyal companions and beloved dogs: Kady and Mary.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, James Demastus; one stepbrother, Joseph Rowh; and stepfather, John Rowh.
Cherrie enjoyed working as an Office Manager for Charleston Sleep Solutions for the past 17 years. She was a faithful member of the Christ United Methodist Church in Sutton where she taught Sunday School. In her free time, she loved camping with her husband, and curling up with a good book to read. She had a special relationship with children and she treasured time spent with her nieces and nephews.
Cherrie’s request for cremation has been honored and her family will have a Celebration of Life Service, to be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations and expressions of sympathy may be sent directly to Howard Dean 798 Bragg Run Rd. Burnsville, WV 26335 to assist with final expenses.

Carol Ann Jackson, 70, of Little Birch, passed away on Sunday, May 29, 2016 at her residence.
She was born June 22, 1945 in Sutton the daughter of the late Bert & Blanche Rose Rhodes. She is also preceded in death by her grandson; Michael Rowan and great-grandson; Joseph Carroll.
Carol was a owner and operator of C. Jackson Timber Company. She also worked for Brights America and Williams Wood Work and was a Seven Day Adventist.
She is survived by her loving husband of 53 years; Dorsey Jackson, son; Dale Jackson of Wolf Creek, daughters; Doris Rowan (Farrel), and Donna Carroll all of Sutton, brothers; Shirley Rhodes of Little Birch, Chalmer Rhodes of Gassaway, Cam Rhodes of Flatwoods, sisters; Jean Morrison of Cowen and Beulah Riffle of Sutton, grandchildren; John Glen Carroll, Donna Lynn Stout, Ashley Jackson, Sierra Jackson, Emily Jackson, McKayla Jackson and 6 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held 1:00 p.m., Thursday, June 2, 2016 at Greene-Robertson Funeral Home, Sutton with Pastor Jim Buchanan and Elder Larry Boggess officiating. Burial followed at Jackson Family Cemetery, Wolfe Creek. Friends called 6-8 pm Wednesday, June 1, 2016 at the funeral home.

Johnnie Lee Carder
Johnnie Lee Carder, 61, of Sutton, passed away on Monday, May 30, 2016 at Pittsburgh Veterans Hospital, Pittsburgh, PA.
He was born in Sutton on April 4, 1955 the son of the late Ovis Lee Carder and Grace Darlington Spinks. Johnnie was also preceded in death by his brother; Jerry Carder.
Johnnie was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War and a Christian by faith.
He is survived by his sister; June Bragg (Ronnie Miller) of Sutton and half brother; Robert Carder of Baberton, OH.

Lucille B. Berry
Lucille B. Berry, 91, of Frametown, WV went to Heaven on May 31, 2016 after a short illness at Charleston Memorial Hospital with her family around her. She was the daughter of the late Robert and Lucy (Westfall) Simons.
She was a housewife, loving Mother and Grandmother. She loved to sing with a quartet in her younger days and loved attending Church. She would raise a large garden every year and would share it with her neighbors.
She is survived by one brother, Johnny Simons and Julie, three sons, Robert L. (Bruce) Berry, Victor H. Berry and James R. Berry and (Brenda); one daughter, Mary Dennison (Bradley); six grandchildren, two great grandsons and several nieces and nephews.

Stanton Lee “Bud” Redcliff
Stanton Lee “Bud” Redcliff, 80, of Ft. Pierce, passed away at home on May 27, 2016 after a brief illness.
Bud was born in Gilmer County, West Virginia and resided in Ft. Pierce, FL for 21 years after moving from Woodbridge, New Jersey. Bud graduated from Burnsville HS, class of 1953, then enlisted in the U.S. Army, stationed in West Germany. After his military service, he worked for 39 years in the Avionics Industry at various locations in NJ. Upon retirement, he moved to Ft. Pierce and started a machining business making specialty equipment used by scuba divers, big game fishermen, and alligator hunters.
Bud’s hobbies included bowling, fishing, flying airplanes and listening to country music. He enjoyed travel and visited many places throughout the United States and abroad. Among his favorites was a return to Hinzerath, Germany, where he had been stationed while in the Army Signal Corps.
He is survived by his wife of 32 years, B. Ann Redcliff, his brother, Lowell (Red) Swisher, his sister, Lois(Chee) & her husband Audie Kraft, his uncle, Warren Matheny, his aunt, Millie Matheny, and brother-in-law, Terry Kelley. Bud’s children and their spouses are Robert Redcliff (Jacksonville, FL), William & Carolyn Redcliff (Karnak, TX), Julie Redcliff-Freebern & Neil Freebern (Arlington, VT), Robert & Denise Skinner (Marietta, GA), and Donald & Julie Skinner(Fort Pierce, FL). Bud has nine grandchildren, Zachary Redcliff, Brandon Redcliff, William Redcliff, Jr., Heather Redcliff, Anna Freebern, Tynan Rubin, Keith Skinner, Rachel Skinner, Amanda Skinner, and one great grandchild, William Lee(Trey) Redcliff, III.
He was predeceased by his father, Kenneth Wayne Redcliff, his mother, Mary Swisher, his sister, Alma Jane Swisher, his brother, Kenneth Dwayne Redcliff, and his step-sisters Jaquelyn & Joreen Swisher.
Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 2nd at Haisley Funeral Home, 3015 Okeechobee Road in Ft. Pierce. Military Honors and Interment will follow at White City Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to White City United Methodist Church, 810 West Midway Road in Ft. Pierce, or Treasure Coast Hospice.
Janice Louise Brady
Janice Louise Brady, 54, of 393 Hudkins Road, Summersville, WV passed away on June 3, 2015 at Buckhannon, WV following an extended illness. Janice was born on September 16, 1960 at Ivydale, WV. The daughter of Walter Cain and Beatrice (Cottrell) Cain. She was married to James Brady Sr. who preceded her in death.
She is survived by three sons George McGlothlin of Flatwoods, Christopher Brady of Oak Hill, and James (Niffy) Brady of Clay. Also surviving are four daughters Amy Brown of St. Albans, Jennifer Kise of Summersville, Mary McGlothlin of Clay, and Hollie Louise Brady of Oak Hill. In addition to her children, sisters, brothers, and grandchildren she was survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Janice was Baptist by faith and loved going to Church. She loved her children and her greatest love were her grandchildren.
Family will receive friends on Monday, June 6, 2016 at the Stockert-Paletti Funeral Home, 378 Flatwoods Corner Road, Flatwoods, WV 26621 from 11-1 p.m. Following visitation funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. at the Stockert-Paletti Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Wayne Litten and Pastor Kenneth Adkins. Following funeral services interment will follow in the Ramsey Cemetery in Enoch, WV (Dogrun) in Clay County.

Norma Jean (Swisher) Stoneking
Norma Jean (Swisher) Stoneking, 87, of South Charleston, died peacefully after a long illness on Fri. June 3, 2016, in Thomas Memorial Hospital.
She is survived by her loving husband of 68 years, James Wesley Stoneking; daughters, Janet K. Stoneking (Eric Boyd) of Westerville, Ohio, Brenda S. Sharpe of Reynoldsburg, Ohio, Elizabeth A. Stoneking of South Charleston; sons, Arthur L. (Malinda) Stoneking, of Newport, Tenn., J. Steven Stoneking of Kenai, Alaska; seven grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert Pearre Swisher and Iza May (Ramsburg) Swisher, of Berlin, Lewis County, W.Va.; and sister, Anna Ruth (Edward) Snyder, formerly of Jane Lew, and Ellicott City, Md.
Norma enjoyed singing in various church choirs throughout her life. She was a 1946 graduate of Jane Lew High School, and attended Fairmont College. She participated in 4-H as a youth and, as an adult, was inducted into the W.Va. 4-H All Stars for her service as a club leader in Sutton, Braxton County.
A memorial service will be held at a future date at Rock Lake Presbyterian Church, South Charleston. Interment will be in the I.O.O.F. Friendship Cemetery, near Berlin, Lewis County, where three generations of her ancestors have been laid to rest.

General Ford Green, 82, of Sutton passed away June 1, 2016 at Stonewall Jackson Hospital. He was born May 7, 1934 in Calhoun Co., WV the son of the late Edward and Opal Keffer Green. Also preceding him in death was his loving wife; Dorothy Duffield Green and his sister; Marjorie Fenton. He was a Coal Miner, an Army Veteran, and a Christian by faith.
Surviving him are his 2 sons; Darrell Green of Sutton and Joseph Green (Laura) of Little Birch, his daughters; Debra Shafiei (Mohammad) of Clendenin, Barbara Jarvis of Las Vegas, NV, Melodye Matney (Kevin) of Barberton, OH, Nina Vaughan (Danny) of Flatwoods, sisters; Lula Mae Fletcher (Cecil) of Craigsville, Katherine Mullens (Doug) of Warren, OH, Dorothy Fenton (Kenneth) of Courtland, OH, and Rose Peyatt (Gail), Wanda Fowler and brother; Harvey Green (Sharon) all of Richwood, WV; 19 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 pm Sunday, June 5, 2016 at Greene Robertson Funeral Home in Sutton, WV. Burial followed at McLaughlin Cemetery, Duck, WV. Family received friends one hour prior the service at the funeral home.

Rankin Lee Harless
Rankin Lee Harless, 74, of Hugheston passed away Friday June 30, 2006, at home after a short illness.
Lee lived most of his life in West Virginia and was a member of the Hughes Creek Community Church. Lee worked as a salesman to the Coal Mine Industry and he was a realtor for Commercial Real Estate Services.
He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean War, a member of the Coal Valley Masonic Lodge No. 74, Scottish Rite Bodies of Charleston, Beni Kedem Shrine Temple of Charleston, and The Oriental Band and the Fayette County Shrine Club.
Lee was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Ward Harless.
Surviving are his wife, Carol Francis Harless at home; children, Clark Harless of St. Albans, and Garland Francis of San Angelo, Texas; daughters, Debi Richard of Huntersville, N.C., Catherine Brown, and Nora Knox of Charleston, Mary Halley of New Bloomfield, Pa., and Stephanie Littlecreek of Austin, Texas; brothers, Robert of Douglas, Ga., Steve of Fayetteville, Ga., and Scott of Charlton Heights; special sister, Donna Petry of Cannelton; 12 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
