Dwight “Ike” Coombs, age 56 of Hildebrand Lock and Dam Road, Morgantown passed away Monday, September 28, 2009 at Ruby Memorial Hospital. He was born May 29, 1953 in Morgantown a son of the late Jesse Dale and Hazel Irene Coombs.
Ike was a retired coal mine foreman after thirty years of service with Consolidation Coal Company. He was a longtime member of the Monongalia County Farm Bureau and after retirement his two greatest joys were his grandchildren and farming.
Ike is survived by his wife of thirty five years, Patricia Moran-Price Coombs; one daughter Jessica Coombs–Stockett and husband Jason of Morgantown; two sons David Coombs and wife Tabitha of Morgantown and Kevin Mike Coombs and wife Kendra of Morgantown; two brothers, Herschel D. Coombs and wife Marlene of Stanley, NC and John L. Coombs and wife Debbie of Morgantown; and six grandchildren, Emily, Audrey, Kobi, Jace, Jacob, and Jaylynn.

Ernest S. Copeland, 90 of West Jefferson Street, Westover passed away Thursday, November 19, 2009 at Monongalia General Hospital. He was born March 17, 1919 in Morgantown a son of the late Ernest E. and Nellie A. Henry Copeland.
Ernest had been employed at Morgantown Printing and Binding and served with the United States Air Force during World War II. He was a retired and devoted member of the Westover Volunteer Fire Department and attended the Westover United Methodist Church.
Ernest is survived by one daughter, Sandra Ryan and husband Pat of Westover, one grandson Scott Ryan and wife Delilah one great grandson Patrick and one brother, Warren A. Copeland of Lima, OH
Ernest was preceded in death by his wife Alma Irene Copeland, two brothers, Orville and Lloyd Copeland and two sisters Agnus Moore and Willabell Weaver.

Helen Joan Copeland, age 76 of Chestnut Ridge Road, Morgantown passed away Thursday, April 24, 2008 at Mapleshires Nursing Home. She was born December 6, 1931 in Brave, PA a daughter of the late John S. and Helen S. Snell Kent.
Helen worked in the kitchen of Friendship Manor and enjoyed reading. She was a giving and generous person, who found that the greatest joy in life, was in helping and serving others.
Helen is survived by one daughter and spouse, Joy and Pat Cipolloni of Sidney OH, two sisters, Mary Kent of Morgantown and Grace Sweeney of Waynesburg, PA, two brothers, Wes Kent of Spraggs, PA and Scott Kent of Beaver, PA and one granddaughter, Carla Cipolloni.
McCulla Funeral Home provided cremation services and any memorial services will be announced at a later date.
Mary A. Bilotto Corallino age 91 of Troy, MI formerly of Westover entered Heaven January 18, 2009 after a courageous and lengthy battle with Alzheimer to join her husband of 59 years, Natale “Criss” Corallino Sr.
Mary is survived by her loving family, including sons Natale (Criss) and wife Carole of Troy, MI and Robert (Bob) and wife Kathy of Hooksett, NH, granddaughters, Natalie Seesholtz and husband Ken, Mary Emanuele and husband Joe, Danielle Bender and husband Steve, Christine and Katrina Corallino, and 9 great grandchildren. Mary is also survived by two sisters, Theresa Hillier and Pate’ Seastedt, and a brother, Louie Bilotto. Mary and Criss also had an adopted family, Tony, Brenda, Michelle, Andrea and Lauren Cantwell.
In addition to her husband, Mary was also preceded in death by a sister, Rose Bitonti, and two brothers, William Billotti and John Billotti.
Everyone Mary touched benefited from her loving and generous heart. Mary was always seen with a smile on her face, a twinkle in her eyes, kindness on her lips, a friendly wave and a basket of homemade foods. She dedicated her life to support her husband, raise her two sons, stand by her siblings, live by God’s teachings and volunteer her services in the community and church. Family and friends always knew she had an open door with a seat available at her kitchen table. Mary always enjoyed cooking, baking, children, dolls, stuffed animals, weekly bowling leagues, and card games with her girlfriends. Mary looked forward to her volunteer work at Monongalia General Hospital. She was a member of the Columbian Federated Ladies Auxiliary # 42, Sons of Italy #914, Catholic Daughters, and St. Elizabeth Ann Seton and St. Theresa Catholic Churches.
The family will receive friends at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 1 Guthrie Lane on Saturday, January 24 from 10:00 AM until 11:30 AM. with a Mass of Christian Burial immediately following with Father Dan Pisano as celebrant. Private burial will be held at East Oak Grove Cemetery. Robert Jackson Carrico, 78 of the Golden Living Center, Morgantown, formerly of Westover, passed away Tuesday, October 20, 2009 at the Golden Living Center. He was born July 16, 1931 in Erwin, Preston County a son of the late Charles and Sarah Lipscomb Carrico.
Robert had been employed by the Morgantown Utility Board and was a United States Army Veteran.
Robert is survived by his wife Carolyn S. Murray Carrico, one daughter, Jackie Winters of Morgantown, two step-sons, Carl W. McDonald and wife Debbie of Morgantown and Eddie D. Austin Sr. of Morgantown, grandchildren, Amber Sanders and husband Michael of Kingwood, Brandi Maxwell of Morgantown, Courtney Winters of Morgantown, Justin W. McDonald of Morgantown, Carl M. McDonald of Morgantown, Eddie Austin Jr. of Morgantown and Joshua Austin of Morgantown, great grandchildren, Ethan McDonald, Colton Maxwell, and Autumn Sanders, one brother, Dale Carrico of Vero Beach, FL, two sisters, JoAnn Carrico of Rowlesburg and Carol Lorusso of Westover.

Amelia S. Core, 91, of Little Indian Creek Road, Core passed away Thursday, March 4, 2010 at Sundale Nursing Home. She was born March 19, 1918 in Rivesville, WV. She was one of ten children born to the late Michael and Mary Cingel Spevock Sr. and was the last surviving member of her family.
Amelia was a homemaker and had been active in the Core Senior Center and the Core Community Association. She was an active person, who loved gardening, canning, quilting, and reading.
Amelia is survived by her daughter Susan Kish and husband Alex of Core, nieces and nephews, Margaret and Ray Collins, Robert Spevock, Deloris and Al Polis, Nicholas Spevock, Judith Riggs, Lauren Riggs, Michael Spevock and Christine and John Fazio, as well as several great-nieces and nephews.
Amelia was also preceded in death by her husband Leland Lemley Core in 1980, nephews, George Spevock, Steve Spevock Jr., Frank Spevock, the family historian, and Lawrence Riggs Jr., and a niece, Julia Clutter.

Presley R. Cosper, 54, of Morgantown died Tuesday, October 19, 2010 at Ruby Memorial Hospital. Presley was born on August 25, 1956 in Tulare, California. He was the son of the late Jim and Emma Cosper Sheppard.
Presley was a Vietnam War veteran and proudly served in the United States Army. During his working career, Presley was employed by Valley Mental Health as a Health Care Aide. He was an avid reader and also enjoyed gambling.
Mr. Cosper is survived by his wife Ruth Cosper; one son Jim Roberts and his wife Mindy of Fairmont; two sisters Wanda Shawn and Claudia Weemes both of California, three grandchildren; one great grandchild; and a long time friend Glennis Ruckle
In addition to his parents, Presley was preceded in death by one sister Exa Morgan and partner Danny Bartlet.

Lillian Lucille Huggins Cost, age 73 of Goshen Road, Morgantown formerly of Bertha Hill passed away Thursday, May 15, 2008 at Ruby Memorial Hospital. She was born January 12, 1935 in Cascade, WV a daughter of the late Harry Charles Huggins and Olive Etta Huggins Krenosky and Stanley Krenosky.
Lillian had been employed as a nursing assistant at Sundale Nursing Home for thirty years and was non-denominational by faith.
Lillian is survived by four daughters and three spouses, Peggy and Carl Blaney of Morgantown, Sandra and Larry Lowther of Star City, Janice and Carl Straub Sr. of Bertha Hill and Kathy Tracy of Morgantown, three sons and spouses, James and Connie Cost of Morgantown, Herman J. and Angela Cost of Morgantown, and Mark and Patti Cost of Morgantown, four brothers and spouses, Herman and Rosalene Huggins, Edgar and Zeta Huggins, Robert and Lynn Huggins and Gail and Saundra Huggins all of Morgantown, three sisters and two spouses, Delores Lucas, Joyce and Lonnie Taylor and Gloria and Joseph Powroznik all of Morgantown, thirteen grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Dominick Cost in 1982 and one brother, Harlin Huggins.

Robert Lee Covert, 45, of Charlotte, NC, formerly of Morgantown, died unexpectedly on October 4, 2010. He was born on December 20, 1964 to Paula Covert Martin of Kingsbury, CA and raised by his grandmother Freda Covert of Morgantown.
After graduating from Morgantown High School in 1983, Bob attended Fairmont State. He then worked at West Virginia University in the Bursar’s Office for many years before graduating from West Virginia University in 2003 with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. He left Morgantown to pursue a master’s degree in Information Technology from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, where he graduated in 2006. He was currently employed by the University of North Carolina, Charlotte, as the Director of Information Systems, Division of Development and Alumni Affairs.
Bob lived his life to the fullest making many friends along the way. We will all miss his infectious smile and laughter.
In addition to his mother and grandmother, Bob is survived by two brothers James Covert and his wife Darla of Morgantown and Brian Covert and his wife Pam of Morgantown; half brother Eddie Martin of California; half sister Melissa Martin of California; five nieces Heather and Holly Covert, Majanlyn and Myrriah McClurg, and Olivea Covert, all of Morgantown; aunts and uncles Pete and Louise Pritt, of Morgantown, Larry Covert of Jacksonville, FL, Carol and Allen Williams of Crosby, TX, Richie and Susan Covert of Hudson, NC, Linda and Alex “Chick” Martin of Morgantown, Bill Covert of Morgantown, Sandra Lear and David Chisler of Morgantown, Robert and Rosario Covert of Houston, TX; and numerous cousins and friends are also left to mourn the loss of Bob.
Bob was preceded in death by his grandfather, Francis “Dean” Covert and one uncle, Stanley Wayne Pritt.

Steven L. Crawford age 59 of Sugar Grove Road, Morgantown passed away after an extended illness Monday, March 23, 2009 at his home. He was born March 16, 1950 in Mansfield, Ohio, a son of Gerald Crawford of Fort Myers, FL and the late Kathryn McIntire Crawford.
Steven had been employed as a carpenter and was an Army Veteran of the Vietnam War.
In addition to his father, Steven is survived by his wife Carol A. Hamilton Crawford; one daughter, Catherine Crawford at home; three sons, Thomas Richard Crawford and Matthew Christopher Crawford both at home, and Steven Lynn Crawford Jr. of Indiana; and two grandchildren.

Macel Rosalee Crites, 73, of Williams Rd., Morgantown, passed away Friday, May 7, 2010 at home. She was born in Braxton County on May 22, 1936, a daughter of the late Tom Riffle and Catherine Cook Crites.
She had worked as a cashier at the former Mr. Donut in Westover. She was also a homemaker who loved caring for her family.
Macel is survived by three daughters, Nancy Simpkins, and her husband Ronald of Morgantown, Melinda Lawson and her husband John, of Core, and Belinda Stiles and her husband Donnie, of Wadestown; two sons Robert Crites and his wife Debra of Maidsville, and Charles Crites and his companion Cathy McDonald of Granville; two sisters, Juanita Kemp and Carol Lightcap; three brothers, Walter Morris, Okey Riffle, and Leon Riffle; eleven grandchildren, and seventeen great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Macel was preceded in death by her husband Walter Crites, one daughter, Diann Kisner, three sisters, Lena Brady, Christine Riffle, and Audrey McCormick, and one brother Watson Brady.
