Lorraine M. Goerke
WAUWATOSA - Lorraine M. Goerke, born in Waukesha on Dec. 16, 1928, to the family who established Goerke’s Corners, died peacefully November 6, 2000.

She was the loving aunt of Dick (Deb) Laumer, Jim (Carol) Laumer, Dave (Michele) Laumer, Steve (Shar) Laumer and Cathy (Steve) Kuklinski. She is also lovingly remembered by seven grandnieces, four grandnephews, many near and dear friends and her faithful dog, Gus. She was preceded in death by her sister, Eileen K.; her brother-in-law, Ralph Laumer; her father, Reuben W. Goerke; and her mother, Lucille C. Goerke (nee Koehler).

Lorraine taught for two years in Oakfield, and for 38 years at Menomonee Falls High School, retiring in 1990.

Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., with a vigil service at 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 10, at the Becker Ritter Funeral Home, 14075 W. North Ave., Brookfield. Relatives and friends may join the family Saturday, Nov. 11, at St. Joseph’s Church, 122nd and W. Center Street, Wauwatosa, for the Mass of Christian Burial at noon. Private family graveside services will be held at St. Joseph’s cemetery in Waukesha.

Memorials to St. Joseph’s Church in Wauwatosa or the Menomonee Falls Scholarship Fund are appreciated.

Donald J. Howard
WAUKESHA - Donald J. Howard, of Waukesha, born March 27, 1927, the son of Joseph and Marian (nee Clark) Howard, died Sunday, Nov. 5, 2000, at the age of 73. He was a member of the YMCA and St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by his parents.

He will be sadly missed by his wife, Joanne, whom he married on June 26, 1946; his sister, Marion (Joseph) Kutschenreuter of Waukesha; sister-in-laws, Diane (Michael) O’Mara and Becky DePersio; his brother-in-law, Parry (Karen) Soder; and his nieces and nephews, Diane Fath, Michelle (William) Webster, Neil (Christine) O’Mara, Timothy O’Mara and Paul O’Mara.

The funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 9, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church; Father Michael Michalski will officiate. Friends may call at the church on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Interment will follow at Prairie Home cemetery.

Memorials to the YMCA or St. Joseph’s Catholic Church are appreciated.

Harold Arnold Rasmussen
RIO RANCHO, N. M. - Harold Arnold Rasmussen, 74, a resident of Rio Rancho, N.M., for the past 30 years, passed away Monday, Oct. 16, 2000. Harold was born on July 3, 1926, the son of Carl S. and Aurora Nielson in Delafield. He had been a sales manager for the W. W. Steel Co. and a general manager for Wilbanks Steel for 20 years before retiring. He was also a partner in the Spring City Radio Lab and owned Harold’s Coins. He was preceded in death by his son, Harold Rasmussen Jr.

Harold is survived by his wife, Phyllis of Rio Rancho; four children, Sandy Back of Rio Rancho, Rita Heindel and Allan of Hurst, Texas, David Rasmussen and Sandy of Rio Rancho, Debbie Housey of Rio Rancho and Rick of Bernalillo; two sisters, Margaret Mehling of Waukesha and Jane Ruenger and Gene of Whitewater; one brother, Carl Rasmussen and Marie of Waukesha; five grandchildren, Krys Lewis, Erik Rasmussen, Jerod Rasmussen, Keri Heindel and Scott Housey; and two great-grandchildren, Haegan and Delaney Lewis.

A memorial service was held on Wednesday, Oct. 18, at the Rio Rancho Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Robert Clary officiating. Memorial contributions have been suggested to the Presbyterian Hospice or the Rio Rancho Presbyterian Church.

John M. Bruder
WAUKESHA - John M. Bruder of Waukesha, died Saturday, Nov. 4, 2000, at The Waters of Westmoreland at the age of 64. He was born the son of John and Eleanore (Balsewicz) Bruder on Nov. 20, 1935, in Milwaukee. John was a member of St. William’s Catholic Church and proudly served his country as a U.S. Air Corps veteran.

He will be sadly missed by his wife, Lorraine, whom he married May 26, 1962; his daughters, Linda (Dennis) Jones of Rockford, Ill., and Lisa (Troy) Viegut of Waukesha; his brother, Robert Bruder of Milwaukee; and his sister, Jeanne (Frank) Yokosh of Hartland. He is further survived by his five grandchildren, Travis, Taylor, Trenton, Troy Jr. and Trevor. He is preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, Terri and Marion; and his granddaughter, Faith.

The funeral Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 9, at St. William’s Catholic Church; the Rev. Leonard Barbian officiating. Friends may call at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of the Mass at 11 a.m. Thursday. Burial will be at St. Joseph’s Catholic cemetery in Waukesha.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Ronald McDonald House are appreciated.

Hans D. Christianson Sr.
MUKWONAGO - Hans D. Christianson Sr. of Mukwonago passed away Monday, Nov. 6, 2000, at Waukesha Memorial Hospital at the age of 65. Hans was born in the town of Vernon on April 7, 1935, to Otto and Olive (nee Trefner) Christianson. He was a 1955 graduate of Mukwonago High School.

On May 25, 1968, Hans married Elizabeth A. Perkins at St. John’s Lutheran Church in North Prairie. After 16 years of service, Hans retired as an office worker from Industrial Clutch in Waukesha. Hans was a member of the Mukwonago Lion’s Club for 40 years and a recipient of the Melvin Jones Award. He was also a member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Mukwonago, and an avid bowler.

Survivors include his wife of 32 years, Elizabeth; one son, Hans D. Christianson Jr. of Madison; two daughters, Elizabeth (Daniel) Fox of the town of Vernon and Julie (Christopher) Knaub of Menomonee Falls; one brother, Floyd (Audrey) of Mukwonago; one sister, Irene Schultz of Watsonville, Calif.; four grandchildren, Joshua, Robert and Ashley Fox and Jacob Knaub; other relatives and friends. His parents and five brothers preceded him in death.

Friends may call from 4 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 9, at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 509 Grand Ave., Mukwonago. The Rev. Kieth Kuschel will officiate. Burial will take place privately at Vernon Lutheran cemetery.

Florian E. ‘Mike’ Morse
WIND LAKE - Florian E. "Mike" Morse, 67, of Wind Lake, found peace Monday, Nov. 6, 2000.

He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Theresa. He was the beloved father of Vickie (Ted) Parson, Michael (Joan), Terri (Craig) Bennett and Tom (Sue). He is further survived by a sister, Rose Marie (Richard) Hedrick, nine grandchildren and other relatives and friends.

Mike was a retiree of Amron Corp. in Waukesha.

Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 9, with funeral services at 7:30 p.m. at Hartson Funeral Home, 11111 W. Janesville Road, Hales Corners. Interment will be at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial cemetery in Union Grove.

Laura A. Rainer
WAUKESHA - Laura A. Rainer (nee Hunt), died Sunday, Nov. 5, 2000, at the age of 85.

She was the beloved wife of the late Walter; loving mother of Ann (Ron) Gillette; dear grandmother of Meghan and Jason Gillette; fond sister of Eleanor St. John, June Jordan, the late William F. Hunt and Carolyn Hunt; fond aunt, great-aunt and great-great-aunt of many.

Visitation will be held at 11 a.m. today, Wednesday, Nov. 8, until the time of the funeral service at noon at Peterson Funeral Home, 6938 W. North Ave., Chicago. Interment will be at Forest Home cemetery.

Margaret ‘Peggy’ E. Robinson
WAUKESHA - Margaret "Peggy" E. Robinson, of Waukesha, died peacefully on Monday, Nov. 6, 2000, at her residence. She was born on May 30, 1942, in Guatemala City, Guatemala, to H. William and Margaret (nee Davis) Hays. On May 23, 1978, she married Rev. Richard "Dick" Robinson in Grand Rapids, Mich. Peggy taught at Central, Horning and Butler middle schools. She was a member of Elmbrook Church for the past 25 years.

Grieving, but not without hope, are her husband, Dick, along with their daughter, Melissa B. Robinson of Muncie, Ind. She was the dear sister of Tom (Lois) Hays of Chattanooga, Tenn., Lois Hays of San Diego, Calif., and Martha (Bob) Robinson of Waukesha. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Sam.

Friends may call from 3:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 9, at Elmbrook Church, 777 S. Barker Road, Brookfield. Services will be held at 7 p.m. at the church. Family and friends are invited to the interment at 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 10, at Salem cemetery in Wales; please meet at the cemetery.

Memorials to Elmbrook Church for "Utatlan" School in Guatemala and a college trust fund for Melissa are appreciated.

Frances M. Henninger
WAUKESHA - Frances M. Henninger, 85, passed away Nov., 7, 2000, at Waters of Westmoreland in Waukesha. She was the dear mother of John (Alberta) Henninger of North Carolina and Sue (Daniel) Compana of Iowa. She is further survived by four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends. Cremation will be held at Valhalla Memorial Park in Milwaukee.

Agnes H. Krueger, 84, died Tues. Nov. 7, 2000, at home.

Thomas ‘Mr. Z’ ‘Lefty’ Zaletel
RHINELANDER - The game came to an end Saturday, Nov. 4, 2000, for Thomas "Mr. Z" "Lefty" Zaletel, 56.

He was the loving soulmate and husband of Kaye (nee Galkowski) for 34 years; fun-loving, devoted pops to Greg (David Rohde) Zaletel, Jodi (Greg) Wadge and Andy (fiance, Beth Waicosky) Zaletel; and proud grandpa of Jordan and Tysen Wadge. He will also be missed by his granddogs, Ranger, Casey, Drake and Scout. He was the loving brother of Gail (Tom) Manz of Oregon and the late Sharon Hildenbrand; dear brother-in-law of Alan (Linda) Galkowski; and was loved by other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. Friday, Nov. 10, at the Krause Funeral Home, 9000 W. Capitol Drive, with a vigil service held at 7:30 p.m. Friends are encouraged to join the family at the funeral home from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 11, with a procession to St. Therese Catholic Church at 11 a.m. for the Mass of Christian burial.

Richard Earl Graf
WAUKESHA - Richard Earl Graf, 54, died Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2000, at Waukesha Memorial Hospital. He was born on July 4, 1946, in Waukesha, to Walter and Gertrude (nee Marks) Graf. He attended Blair Elementary School and was a 1965 graduate of Waukesha South High School. He later attended Waukesha County Technical College and received his diploma in data processing in 1975. Richard then worked as a computer operator.

He will be sadly missed by his brother, W. James Graf of Bessimer City, N.C.; and his sisters, Beverly Huebner of Waukesha, Ramona (Chris) Lembke of Stone Bank and Ruby Ann Stevens of Waukesha. He is further survived by his special friend, Cindy Mueller of Waukesha, other relatives and many friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Barry, and his brothers-in-law, Phil Stevens and Raymond Huebner.

Friends may call from 5 p.m. until the 7 p.m. funeral service Sunday, Nov. 12, at Randle-Dable Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Ave. The Rev. Mel Henrichs will be officiating. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 13, at Prairie Home cemetery (please meet at the cemetery office).

Michael ‘Sarg’ R. Preston
WAUKESHA - Michael "Sarg" R. Preston, 65, of Waukesha, died Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2000, at Waukesha Memorial Hospital. He was born on Jan. 25, 1935, to Michael and Mabel (nee Schultz) Rodich. He proudly served his country in the Army during the Korean Conflict.

He will be missed by his friends. No formal services will be held. Burial will take place at Southeastern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial cemetery in Union Grove.

Bernice M. Reupert
WAUKESHA - Bernice M. Reupert, of Waukesha, was born to eternal life Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2000, at the age of 79. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Edward Fischer and Ellsworth Reupert.

She was the loving mother of Edward (Sandy) and Wayne (Barbara) Fischer, and was also loved by her seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 11, at St. William Catholic Church, 440 N. Moreland Blvd., Waukesha. A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. A private burial will be held at Wisconsin Memorial Park.

Hazel H. Schleiss
NASHOTAH - Hazel H. Schleiss (nee Anderson) passed away Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2000, at Froedtert Lutheran Memorial Hospital at the age of 89. Hazel was born in Rice Lake and lived in Milwaukee, Wauwatosa and for many years in Oconomowoc. She was a homemaker. Hazel was preceded in death by her husband, Paul and her son, Ronald.

She is the beloved mother of Jo Ann Rumpf of Nashotah and Rolland (Pat) Schleiss of Paris, Tenn.; dear grandmother of Richard (Susanne) Rumpf, Michele (David) Kittleson and Brian Schleiss; and dear great-grandmother of Arianna Rumpf, Maxwell Kittleson and Brittaney Schleiss.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 11, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Rice Lake. Interment will be in Nora cemetery, Rice Lake.

Aurelia Sosa Gonzalez
WAUKESHA - Waukesha resident Aurelia Sosa Gonzalez, 74, died Thursday, Nov. 9, 2000, at Waukesha Memorial Hospital. She was born Sept. 13, 1926, in San Luis Potosi, Mexico, to Francisco and Micaela (nee Gonzalez) Sosa. In October 1944, she married Abel G. Gonzalez in Mexico. She was a lifelong member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. Mrs. Gonzalez was a devoted mother, grandmother and sister.

She will be sadly missed by her daughters, Maria Guadalupe (Felipe Banuelos) Gonzalez of Oregon, Wis., Emily (Robert) LaBode of Nashotah, Stella (Robert) Lamp of Nashotah, Sarah Gonzalez of Waukesha, Jane (Michael) Roethe of Nashotah and Maria-Luisa (Kevin) West of Waukesha. She was the dear grandmother of Rodney Gonzalez of Waukesha, Ryan and Travis Lamp of Nashotah and Lee and Brittany West of Waukesha. She was the beloved sister of Librada Pe–a of Texas and Teresa and Lecha Sosa, both of Mexico. She is further survived by her half-brothers, Joe (Delia) Mata of Waukesha and Francisco Mata of Texas; her half-sister, Maria Mata of Wisconsin; other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Abel, on Oct. 12, 1977; her son, Abel Jr., on Nov. 16, 1987; and two infant daughters.

Friends may call from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 14, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Waukesha, followed by the Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. with Fr. Aurelio Perez officiating. Graveside services will follow at St. Joseph’s cemetery.
