Hugh S. Crotty

MUKWONAGO - Hugh S. Crotty of Mukwonago went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, Dec. 16, 2000, at the age of 23.

Hugh was born in Rhinelander on March 6, 1977, to Patrick and Glenda (nee Hagen) Crotty.

Hugh was a 1996 graduate of Altoona High School and was an employee of Seaquist Closures in Mukwonago.

He loved working with computers and enjoyed snowboarding.

Survivors include his parents, Patrick and Glenda of Mukwonago; a brother, Eric of Eau Claire; his grandmother, Betty Hagen of Rhinelander; other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Charles and Grace Crotty and Gordon Hagen.

Friends may call from 4 p.m. until the time of the memorial service at 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 21, at the Schmidt & Bartelt-Van Valin Funeral Home, 315 Main St., Mukwonago.

The Rev. Robert J. Drutowski will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family for the purchase of a computer for the Mukwonago Public Library in Hugh’s name.

Harriet Cruver

BROOKFIELD - Harriet Cruver, 96, died Sunday, Dec. 17, 2000, at Woodland Health Care Center in Brookfield.

She was born Oct. 7, 1904, in Eagle to Charles and Carrie (nee Burton) Cruver.

Harriet graduated from Waukesha High School in 1922 as valedictorian and attended college at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, Carroll College, Marquette University and Northwestern University.

She was a school teacher in the Waukesha area for 39 years and served as a supervisor for six years in the Waukesha County Public School System.

She was a member of the local and state of Wisconsin Teachers Association, the Waukesha Business Women, Eastern Star, Southeast Wisconsin Supervising Teachers Association and the Baha’i faith.

She is survived by her brother, Myron Cruver of Menomonee Falls; a sister, Bette Munger of Walworth; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her four brothers and one sister.

Baha’i faith services will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 20, at Mealy’s Funeral Home, 103 Eagle St., Eagle.

Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until time of services on Wednesday at the funeral home.

Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 21, at Jericho cemetery (Highway E), Eagle; please meet at the cemetery.

Memorials to the Jericho cemetery Association are appreciated.

Mealy’s Funeral Home in Eagle, (262) 594-2442, is serving the family.

Mary F. Schieble

PEWAUKEE - Mary F. Schieble (nee Conrad), of Pewaukee, was born to eternal life Friday, Dec. 15, 2000, at age 83.

She was the beloved wife for 57 years of John, and loving mother of Patricia Witthun of Morgan Hills, Calif., Margaret (Rob) Retz of Portland, Ore., John (Eileen) Schieble of Sussex and David (Judith) Schieble of Franklin.

She is further survived by 11 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.

Mary was a member of Queen of Apostles Christian Mothers, St. Mary’s Senior Citizens and a past member of Women’s American Legion Auxiliary.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 20, at Queen of Apostles Catholic Church, N35-W23360 W. Capitol Drive, Pewaukee, with visitation from 9 a.m. until the time of the Mass.

The Rev. Michael Grellinger will officiate.

Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today, Dec. 19, at Yonke & Son Funeral Home in Pewaukee.

Interment will be at St. Mary’s cemetery in Pewaukee.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Mary’s name to Queen of Apostles Building Fund would be greatly appreciated by the family.

David Szeflinski

WAUKESHA - David Szeflinski of Waukesha died Monday, Dec. 18, 2000, at Waukesha Memorial Hospital at age 58.

Funeral arrangements are pending with the Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home on Moreland Boulevard.

George P. Zimmerman

WAUKESHA - Longtime Waukesha resident George P. Zimmerman died Saturday, Dec. 16, 2000, at the Virginia Health Care Center at age 89.

He was born April 25, 1911, in Rudolph, the son of William and Catherine (nee Schwartz) Zimmerman.

George was a longtime member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Waukesha and was retired from the Waukesha Roofing Company after 51 years of service.

He is the beloved father of William (Sara) Zimmerman of Palm Harbor, Fla., Catherine (William) Lundy of Big Bend, Arlene (David) Lynch of Cameron, Debra (Robert) Keierleber of Henning, Minn., and Sandra Zimmerman of Waukesha.

He will also be missed by 19 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, two brothers and six sisters, as well as other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Lorraine (nee Reimer) Zimmerman, in 1982.

Friends may call after 4 p.m. today at the Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home on Moreland Boulevard.

Funeral services will begin at 9:15 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 20, at Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home with a procession to St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 822 N. East Ave., for a 10 a.m. Mass; the Rev. Michael Michalski will officiate.

Entombment will be in St. Joseph’s Catholic cemetery.

Mary Lynn Gilliland Keenan

KERRVILLE, Texas - Mary Lynn Gilliland Keenan, known to many as "Mickey," died at her Kerrville residence Saturday, Dec. 2, 2000, at the age of 76.

Mickey was born Nov. 22, 1924, to V. Rawlins and Edna Coker Gilliland of Coleman, Texas, both now deceased.

She lived most of her adult life in Waukesha before accomplishing her longtime goal of returning to Texas for retirement.

Mickey was an enthusiastic poet, artist and an avid animal lover.

She served as a member of the Human Services Board of Waukesha County and was also the vice chair of the Sesquicentennial Committee of the city of Waukesha.

Prior to enjoying a career as a real estate broker and member of the Waukesha County Board of Realtors, Mickey spent many years as an executive secretary to chief executive officers of area businesses and to the presidents of Carroll College in Waukesha.

Mickey was the beloved wife of Paul Keenan and cherished mother of Carolyn (Tony) Kaboord, Kathy Keenan and Paula (Fred) Jones.

She is further survived by her loving granddaughters, Katie, Elizabeth and Annie, as well as by many friends and family members.

A memorial service for Mickey will be held at 6 p.m. Friday, Dec. 22, at Brookfield Congregational Church, 16350 Gebhardt Road, Brookfield, with Dr. Rich Wolf officiating.

A reception will follow at the church.

Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Mary’s name can be made to M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, 1515 Holcombe Blvd., Houston, Texas 77030-9962, or to the Elmbrook Humane Society, 21230 Enterprise Ave., Brookfield, WI 53005.

Frank H. Sartore

OCONOMOWOC - Frank H. Sartore of Oconomowoc died Thursday, Dec. 14, 2000.

He was the beloved husband of Katherine (nee Dobbert), loving father of Jeffrey (Pattie) Sartore and the very loving grandfather of Andrew Wayne Sartore.

Frank was a member of Bricklayers Local #8.

Private services were held. Church and Chapel Funeral Service, 549-0659, assisted the family with arrangements.

Bonnie Rae Stickles

WAUKESHA - Bonnie Rae Stickles, 54, of Waukesha, died Tuesday, Dec. 19, 2000, at home surrounded by her loving family.

The Lord God received one of his strongest spirits.

We have lost our matriarch, someone who has made a difference in everyone she met.

She had a warm, giving heart that will be with us always.

Bonnie was born April 12, 1946, to Robert and Esther Gardinier.

She graduated from Pewaukee High School in 1964 and Waukesha Technical College in 1965.

Bonnie worked for Alloy Products for two years. She married Gordon Stickles on May 21, 1966.

She quit work once Leah was born and only returned to the workforce when Cheryl and Scott were off to school.

She went to work at Northview Elementary, Prairie Elementary and then to Hawthorne Elementary.

Children were her passion, especially those with extra needs.

She had a special insight into people’s strengths and needs and could never say no when a need arised.

Bonnie was a faithful and active member of St. Mark’s Evangelical Lutheran Church.

She and her husband were editors for the newsletter at church for nine years and she was a member of the church council.

Bonnie will be deeply missed by her husband, Gordon; her children, Leah (Michael) Fehling of Elkhorn, Cheryl (John) Jordens of Racine and Scott (Rachel) of Waukesha; her seven grandchildren, Noah, Emily, Evan, Samuel, Kelly, Kristen and Allyson; her very special mother-in-law, Charlotte Stickles of Waukesha; her brother-in-law, Kenneth (Glynda) Stickles of San Diego, Calif.; and her brothers, Dennis (Lois) Omick and James Omick of New Berlin.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her son, Robert Howard; her sister, Joan; and her brother, Richard.

The funeral service for Bonnie will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 22, at St. Mark’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 424 Hyde St., Waukesha; the Rev. James Wilch officiating.

Friends may call Friday from 4 p.m. until the time of the service at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Mark’s Evangelical Lutheran Church or Hawthorne Elementary School are appreciated.

David A. Szeflinski

WAUKESHA - David A. Szeflinski, formerly of Muskego, died Monday, Dec. 18, 2000, at Waukesha Memorial Hospital at the age of 58.

David was born April 28, 1942, in Milwaukee, a son of Anthony and Harriet (nee Nastachowski) Szeflinski.

He is a 1960 graduate of South Division High School.

He worked in the Main Post Office in Milwaukee since 1962 and is a member of the Milwaukee area local AFL-CIO.

On Jan. 18, 1964, he married Dolores Kaminski in Milwaukee.

David is survived by his wife of 37 years, Dolores Szeflinski of Waukesha; his two sons, Paul (Brenda) Szeflinski of Tomah and Greg Szeflinski of Denver.

He is the proud grandpa of his three grandchildren, Mitchell, Mariah and Melissa Szeflinski of Tomah.

David is also survived by his mother, Harriet Szeflinski of Milwaukee; his two brothers, Robert (Diana) Szeflinski of New Berlin and William (Kathy) Szeflinski of South Milwaukee; his sister, Pauline (David) Patrykus of Muskego.

He is further survived by his mother-in-law, Grace Kaminski of Milwaukee; and three brothers-in-law, Don Kaminski of Chicago, Ed Kaminski of Milwaukee and Dick McClain of Minneapolis; along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

David was preceded in death by his father; his sister, Antoinette McClain; and his father-in-law, Barney Kaminski.

A Mass of Christian Burial for David will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 21, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 225 S. Hartwell Ave.

The Rev. Brian Mason will be the celebrant.

Friends may call from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the Mass on Thursday at the church.

Entombment will be in Mt. Olivet cemetery in Milwaukee.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed in David’s name to the American Heart Association.
