Ruth M. Beske
HORICON - Ruth M. Beske, 75, of Horicon, died on Tuesday, Aug. 21, 2001, at University Hospital, Madison.
A private family service will be held at the Murray Community Funeral Home, Horicon. The Rev. Daniel Seehafer will officiate. Burial will be in Stone cemetery, Burnett.
Mrs. Beske was born on July 11, 1926, in the town of Oak Grove, the daughter of Emil and Helen (Weiler) Pufahl. She was married
on Jan. 29, 1944, to Harvey R. Beske at St. Stephen Ev. Lutheran Church, Horicon.
Mrs. Beske farmed with her husband for many years, and then was a longtime resident of Horicon. She was a member of St. Stephen Ev. Lutheran Church, Horicon.
Survivors include two daughters, Kathleen (Raymond) Kreuziger, and Shirley (Donald) Kreuziger, both of Horicon; one son, Robert (Christina) Beske, Horicon; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one sister, Evelyn (Jim) Leetch, Horicon; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, Harvey, on March 9, 1999.
There will be a private family visitation.

Gerda C. Leenders
RANDOLPH - Gerda Charlotte Leenders, 79, formerly of Fox Lake, died on Tuesday, Aug. 21, 2001, at Continental Manor, Randolph.
A private service will be held on Friday, Aug. 24. Burial will be in Riverside Memorial Park, Fox Lake.
Gerda was born on May 26, 1922, in Koenigsberg, East Prussia, the twin daughter of Emilie Schulz, the mother of 17 children. She grew up in Graf von Lendorf Orphanage in Rastenburg, East Prussia, was a prisoner of war in Poland from 1943 to 1945, then moved to Marburg/Lahn Hessen, Germany, where she worked as a manager of a paint store. She later worked as a dry cleaning manager and retired from the University Dry Cleaners in 1987. She came to the United States in 1990 and lived with her daughter and son-in-law, Margarete (Jerry) Hollnagel, in Fox Lake. She had been a resident of Continental Manor in Randolph for the past four years.
She will be sadly missed and mourned by her daughter, Margarete nee Dirkes (Jerry) Hollnagel, Princeton; one granddaughter, Gerda Peetruschka (Robert) Hollnagel, Ripon; one grandson, Randy Lee Hollnagel, Chippewa Falls; three great-grandsons, Anthony, Sean and Zachary Scheuers; her orphanage sister and friend Gertrude "Tuta" Albrecht; three step-grandsons, James (Sandy) Hollnagel, Oshkosh, Jay (Theresa) Hollnagel, Knob Noster, Mo., and Joseph Hollnagel, Oshkosh; seven step-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Gerhard Schulz, and Werner Schulz, both of Germany; two sisters, Herta Bohn and Ursala Schulz, both of Germany; relatives and friends.
The Kratz-Smedema Funeral Home, Fox Lake, is serving the family.
Vernon E. Opel
COLUMBUS - Vernon E. Opel, 89, of Columbus, died on Thursday, Aug. 23, 2001, at Columbus Community Hospital.
The funeral will be held on Monday, Aug. 27, at 2 p.m., at Faith Lutheran Church, Columbus. The Rev. Robert Moberg will officiate. Burial will be in Hillside cemetery, Columbus.
Mr. Opel was born on Nov. 11, 1911, in the town of Elba, the son of Werner and Elizabeth (Weihert) Opel. He was married
on Oct. 13, 1937, to Marguerite Karl,
Mr. Opel was a lifelong area resident. He drove truck for the former Hiney Oil Co., Columbus, for 40 years. He was a member of the Columbus Fire Department for 25 years. He had pitched for the former Astico Red Sox baseball team for many years. He was an avid card player with the Columbus Fire Department.
Survivors include his wife, Marguerite Opel, Columbus; one sister-in-law, Mae Opel, Columbus; relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by five brothers, Emil, Ed, Roy, Bill and Erwin.
Friends may call on Sunday, Aug. 26, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Zeidler Funeral Home, Columbus, and on Monday, Aug. 27, from 1 p.m. until the time of service at Faith Lutheran Church, Columbus.
Memorials may be made to Faith Lutheran Church, Columbus.
Alice L. Neuenschwander
HUSTISFORD - Alice L. Neuenschwander, 82, of Hustisford, died on Friday, Aug. 24, 2001, at Marquardt Memorial Manor, Watertown.
A private family service will be held at the Murray Community Funeral Home, Reeseville. The Rev. Daniel Torkelson will officiate. Burial will be in Hustisford cemetery.
Mrs. Neuenschwander was born on Dec. 24, 1918, in Reeseville, the daughter of Herbert and Hattie (Klentz) Luckow. She was married
on May 10, 1970, to Herbert Neuenschwander in Reeseville.
Mrs. Neuenschwander was a resident of the Reeseville area until 1955. She was a nurses aide at Beaver Dam Community Hospital for many years. She then moved to the Hustisford area in 1970. She was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church, Clyman.
Survivors include her husband, Herbert Neuenschwander, Hustisford, three children by her previous marriage, William (Eileen) Borth, Reeseville, Joanne (Kenneth) Rabehl, Fox Lake, and Beverly (Dennis) Hutto, Clyman; three sisters, Helen Westphal, Lowell, Clarice Kintopp, and Carol Garcia, both of Juneau; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Gertrude
There will be no visitation.
Memorials may be made to Marquardt Memorial Manor or Zion Lutheran Church.

Benjamin Alvarez Diaz
FALL RIVER - Benjamin Alvarez Diaz, 37, of 601 N. Main St., Fall River, died on Sunday, Aug. 26, 2001, as the result of an automobile accident in the town of Calamus.
The funeral will be held in Mexico City, Mexico.
Mr. Alvarez Diaz was born on March 30, 1964, in Mexico City, Mexico, the son of Carlos and Enedina (Diaz Carmona) Alvarez.
Mr. Alvarez Diaz was employed by Didion Milling Co., Cambria.
Survivors include two daughters, Anna Laura Alvarez, Mexico City, Mexico, and Britany Denise Alvarez, Fall River; special friend, Stephanie Nobel, Fall River; his parents, Carlos and Enedina Alvarez, Mexico City, Mexico; three sisters, Maria Elena Alvarez, Lourdes Alvarez, and Janet Alvarez, all of Mexico City, Mexico; four brothers, Paulino (Emelia) and Guillermo (Rosario), both of Beaver Dam, Victor and Carlos, both of Mexico City, Mexico; relatives and friends.

Carlton O. Schley Jr.
FOX LAKE - Carlton "C.J." Oliver Schley Jr., 19, of Fox Lake, died on Thursday, Aug. 23, 2001, as the result of an automobile accident.
The funeral will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 28, at 8 p.m., at the Fox Lake Community Center, 248 E. State St., Fox Lake. The Rev. David Nottling will officiate. Another service will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 29, at 3 p.m., at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, W7922 Ollinger Road, Beaver Dam. Brother Dave Schelter will officiate. Burial will be in Riverside Memorial Park, Fox Lake.
Mr. Schley was born on July 13, 1982, on the family farm in Fox Lake, the son of Carlton and Brenda (Hagen) Schley Sr.
Mr. Schley attended Fox Lake Elementary School and Waupun Middle School. He then decided to self educate himself at home, receiving a GED diploma with high honors on Feb. 5, 2001, from the American School of Lansing, Ill. C.J. farmed along with his father and together they had dreams and set future goals with the family business. C.J. enjoyed living the farm life, whether on a tractor in the field planting the crops, or at harvest time. He was an adventurous person who loved the sport of riding dirt bikes or trail riding on his four-wheeler ATV. He was known as an avid fisherman and hunter, having fished in Ohio, North Dakota, Minnesota, Upper Michigan and Lake Erie, having hunted bear in Ashland, and deer in the local woods. C.J. will always be remember as a person who made friends no matter where he went, who truly appreciated the kindness of friends, and expressed gratitude for their kindness.
This loving and caring young man will be sadly missed and mourned by his parents, Carlton and Brenda Schley, Fox Lake; his sisters and brother, Denise Schley, Beaver Dam, Tonya and Zacharus Schley, both at home; paternal grandfather, Oliver Schley, Fox Lake; maternal grandparents, Brian and Mary Hagen, Beaver Dam; aunts, uncles, cousins, relatives and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Kathryn Lois Schley, on Dec. 24, 1999; one aunt, Carolyn Schley, on April 1, 1950, and one cousin, Christopher.
Friends may call on Tuesday, Aug. 28, from 4 to 8 p.m., at the Fox Lake Community Center.
The family would like to invite everyone to attend both services and participate in a fellowship luncheon that will be held at the Fox Lake Community Center following the burial on Wednesday, Aug. 29.

Shirley V. Reinhardt
FOND DU LAC - Shirley V. Reinhardt, 73, of 576 E. 11th St., Fond du Lac, died on Sunday, Aug. 26, 2001, at Hospice Home of Hope, Fond du Lac.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 29, at 10 a.m., at St. Louis Church, Fond du Lac. The Rev. Dennis Budka will officiate. Burial will be in St. Charles cemetery, town of Taycheedah.
Mrs. Reinhardt was born on Dec. 25, 1927, in Lowell, the daughter of Charles and Barbara (Kade) Kuhlman. She was married
on Nov. 8, 1952, to Hugh D. Reinhardt at St. Mary's Church, Fond du Lac.
Mrs. Reinhardt was a member of the Trier-Puddy American Legion Auxiliary Unit No. 75, Fond du Lac, and served as president in both local and state offices. She was a member of the Fond du Lac Noon Kiwanis Club where she was a past president and most recently served as Lt. Governor of District 12, the Wisconsin-Upper Michigan District. She was a lifetime member of the Girl Scouts, past president of the Girl Scouts of Wisconsin, and was on the board of directors of Badger Girls State program. She was a member of Holy Family Parish-St. Louis Church, and a member of St. Anne's Society. She worked at Combination Door for 33 years, retiring in December 1995.
She enjoyed bowling, quilting, handcrafts, and the Green Bay Packers.
Survivors include one son, Dennis (Paula) Reinhardt, Appleton; one daughter, Mary (Gene) McEssey, Kimberly; five grandchildren, Chris McEssey, Sean McEssey, Rhiannon Kritzman, Jared Kritzman, and Jonathan Reinhardt; one brother, Roy (Theresa) Kuhlman, Horicon; one sister, Carol (Ken) Graves, Florida; one sister-in-law, Dorothy Kuhlman, Atlanta, Ga; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Hugh, on Dec. 2, 1977; one daughter, Barbara; one grandson, Tony, and one brother, Ray.
Friends may call on Tuesday, Aug. 28, from 4 to 9 p.m., at the Uecker-Witt Funeral Home, 524 N. Park Ave., Fond du Lac. The American Legion Auxiliary will conduct a prayer service at 7 p.m.
Memorials may be made to the Fond du Lac Regional Cancer Center.
The family would like to extend thanks to the Regional Cancer Center and the Hospice Home of Hope staff for their care and concern.
Allen F. Mielke
WAUPUN - Allen F. Mielke, 80, of rural Waupun, died on Monday, Aug. 27, 2001, at Waupun Memorial Hospital, following a two-week illness.
The funeral will be held on Friday, Aug. 31, at 11 a.m., at County Line Lutheran Church, on Highway AW, rural Markesan. The Rev. Gary Stangland will officiate. Burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens, town of Trenton.
Mr. Mielke was born on June 10, 1921, in Mackford township, Green Lake County, the son of Frank and Edna (Schultz) Mielke.
Mr. Mielke resided on the family farm his entire life and he continued to farm the homestead up to the time of his death. He was a lifelong member of the County Line Lutheran Church.
Survivors include, one sister, Betty (Ken) Perry, Fox Lake; one niece, Janet Flagel, Fresno, Calif.; two nephews, Steve (Kim) Perry, Fox Lake, and Tim (Amy Christopherson) Perry, Waupun; two great-nieces, Beth (Jon) Ritzema, Crestwood, Ill., and Rachel Perry, Waupun; four great-nephews, Lex Flagel, Minneapolis, Minn., Dack Flagel, Grand Forks, N.D., Mike and Dan Perry, Fox Lake; relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.

Robert M. Eiche
BROWNSVILLE - Robert Mark Eiche, 33, of Brownsville, died on Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2001, at St. Agnes Hospital, Fond du Lac.
The funeral will be held on Friday, Aug. 31, at 4 p.m., at St. Andrew's Catholic Church, LeRoy. The Rev. Robert J. Berghammer will officiate. Burial will be in St. Andrew's cemetery, LeRoy.
Mr. Eiche was born on Jan. 28, 1968, in Hartford, the son of Robert J. and Mary (Schatz) Eiche. He was married
on Jan. 4, 2000, to Elizabeth Zangl at St. Andrew's Catholic Church, LeRoy.
Mr. Eiche was a 1987 graduate of Mayville High School. He was a self employed dairy farmer in the township of LeRoy. He loved to create and build things.
Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Eiche, Brownsville; one daughter, Abigail Elizabeth Eiche, Brownsville; his parents, Robert and Mary Eiche, Brownsville; maternal grandmother, Marie Schatz, Jackson; one brother, Brian (Joanne) Eiche Sr., Mayville; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, John and LaVern Eiche and Alfred Schatz.
Friends may call on Friday, Aug. 31, from 1 to 4 p.m., at St. Andrew's Catholic Church, LeRoy.
A memorial will be established for his daughter, Abigail.
Dennis L. Bolstad
Dennis L. Bolstad, 56, of 107 1/2 Mary St., Beaver Dam, died on Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2001, at Beaver Dam Community Hospital.
The funeral will be held on Friday, Aug. 31, at 6 p.m., at the Koepsell Funeral Home, Beaver Dam. The Rev. Paul Lindau will officiate. Burial will be on Saturday, Sept. 1, at 10 a.m., in Highland Memory Gardens, township of Trenton.
Mr. Bolstad was born on Dec. 27, 1944, in Kingston, the son of Arnold and Eleanor (Henke) Bolstad.
Mr. Bolstad was a graduate of Beaver Dam High School. He was employed at Fleet Farm for 32 years, since July 1969. He loved to go antiquing and to flea markets. He also enjoyed fishing and hunting. He served in the Army National Guard.
Survivors include two sons, Eric (Edith) Bolstad, Fox Lake, and Chris (Gina) Bolstad, Lomira; his mother, Eleanor Bolstad, Beaver Dam; two granddaughters, Amber and Brittney Bolstad, both of Fox Lake; two brothers, Ronald (Kathy) Bolstad, Milwaukee, and Dale (Pat) Bolstad, DeForest; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Arnold, on Nov. 2, 1991.
