Barbara A. Auberry
RANDOLPH - Barbara A. Auberry, 48, of Randolph, died on Thursday, Aug. 2, 2001, at Clearview South, Juneau.
The funeral will be held on Sunday, Aug. 5, at 2 p.m., at Randolph Community Funeral Home. The Rev. Larry Webb will officiate. Burial will be in Cambria cemetery.
Mrs. Auberry was born on July 1, 1953, in Pensacola, Fla., the daughter of James and Dorothy (Craig) Webb Sr. She was married
to Terry Auberry.
Survivors include three children, Ric Benson, Portage, James Benson, Ohio, and Deborah Auberry, Michigan; her mother, Dorothy Webb, Randolph; three grandchildren; three brothers, William (Judy) Webb, Florida, James Webb Jr., Randolph, and Larry (Holly) Webb, Watertown; nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father; her husband; one son, Danny, and one sister, Theresa Webb.
Friends may call on Sunday, Aug. 5, from 1 p.m. until the time of service at Randolph Community Funeral Home.
Dean A. Slinger
SAN DIEGO, Calif./RANDOLPH - Dean A. Slinger, 53, of San Diego, Calif., and Randolph, died on Thursday, Aug. 2, 2001, at Hospice Home of Hope, Fond du Lac.
A family graveside service will be held on Saturday, Aug. 18, at 10 a.m., at Cambria cemetery. The Rev. Julie Water Du will officiate.
Mr. Slinger was born on March 31, 1948, in Beaver Dam, the son of Delburne and Doris (Tiffany) Slinger.
Survivors include his mother, Doris Patzlsberger; step-father, Richard Patzlsberger I; three sisters, Darlyn (Harold) DeYoung, Doreen (Jim) Bos, and Patti (Guy) Alvin; three brothers, Richard Patzlsberger II, Michael (Rhonda) Patzlsberger, and Jon (Laura) Patzlsberger; 19 nieces and nephews; aunts, uncles, cousins, relatives and friends,
He was preceded in death by his father, Delburne Slinger, in 1954; one brother, Dale Slinger, in 1972; paternal grandparents, John and Loretta Slinger, and maternal grandparents, John and Thelma Tiffany.
There will be no visitation.
Walter Boese
COLUMBUS - Walter Boese, 95, of Columbus, died on Friday, Aug. 3, 2001, at the Columbus Center.
The funeral will be held on Monday, Aug. 6, at 10:30 a.m., at Zion Ev. Lutheran Church, Columbus. The Rev. G. F. Cares will officiate. Burial will be in Hillside cemetery, Columbus.
Mr. Boese was born on Nov. 22, 1905, the son of Julius and Johanna (Wienke) Boese, in the town of Elba, Dodge County. He was married
to Hildegard Kusrow on Sept. 24, 1929, at Zion Ev. Lutheran Church, Columbus.
Mr. Boese farmed in his younger years, then worked for the former Columbus Mills, Columbus; the former Borden Co., Columbus, and the Gardner Baker Co. for nine years before retiring. He was a lifelong member of Zion Lutheran Church, Columbus. He and his wife celebrated 71 years together before her death.
Survivors include one daughter, Lorraine (Darrell) Blank, Madison; one son, Roger (Janice), Sun Prairie; 11 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren; two step-great-great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Hildegard, in November 2000; three sisters; three brothers; two granddaughters, and one daughter, Shirley Foster.
Friends may call on Monday, Aug. 6, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service, at Zion Ev. Lutheran Church, Columbus.
Memorials may be made to Zion Ev. Lutheran Church, Columbus.

Suzanne J. Thiel
Suzanne "Sue" June Thiel, 41, of Beaver Dam, died on Aug. 2, 2001, as a result of a car accident.
The funeral was held on Monday, Aug. 6, at 11 a.m., at St. Stephen's Ev. Lutheran Church, Beaver Dam. The Rev. Mark Lindner officiated. Burial was in St. Patrick's Catholic cemetery, Beaver Dam.
Mrs. Thiel was born on Dec. 7, 1959, in Beaver Dam, the daughter of Donald and Audrey (White) Buettner. She was married
on April 19, 1986, to Daniel J. Thiel at St. Stephen's Ev. Lutheran Church, Beaver Dam.
Mrs. Thiel was a 1978 graduate of Beaver Dam High school. She was employed at the Eagle's Nest Gallery for many years. She was a lifetime resident of Beaver Dam. She was confirmed at St. Stephen's Ev. Lutheran Church, Beaver Dam, and has been a lifetime member of the church. She was a loving wife and mother.
Survivors include her husband, Dan Thiel, Beaver Dam; three children, Nicole (Josiah Risinger) Thiel, Dannielle Thiel and Mackenzie Thiel, all of Beaver Dam; her parents, Don and Audrey Buettner, Beaver Dam; one sister, Colleen (Russ) Foster, Beaver Dam; mother-in-law, Jan Thiel, Beaver Dam; brother-in-law, Michael (Kerri) Thiel, Oak Creek; sister-in-law, Laura (James) Drake, West Salem; nieces and nephews, Abby Foster, Aaron Foster, Aaron Thiel, Andrea Thiel, Ryan Mullins, Erica Drake and Jordan Drake; aunts, uncles, cousins and friends; and special friends, Madeline and Bob.
She was preceded in death by her father-in-law, Ray Thiel; maternal and paternal grandparents; five uncles; three aunts, and one cousin.
Friends called on Sunday, Aug. 5, from 5 to 7 p.m., at the Koepsell Funeral Home, Beaver Dam, and on Monday, Aug. 6, from 10 a.m. until the time of service at St. Stephen's Ev. Lutheran Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials would be appreciated to a trust fund to be established for her children.
The Koepsell Funeral Home, Beaver Dam, served the family.
June M. Hanson
RIO - June Marion Hanson, 75, of Rio, died on Sunday, Aug. 5, 2001, at Beaver Dam Community Hospital.
The funeral will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 7, at 7 p.m., at the Vangen Funeral Home, Rio. The Rev. Teri Forbes will officiate. Burial will be on Wednesday, Aug. 8, at 10 a.m., in the Bonnet Prairie cemetery.
Mrs. Hanson was born on June 19, 1926, in Portage, the daughter of Emil and Mayme (Pugh) Bublitz. She was married
on Aug. 9, 1967, to Philip Hanson at the courthouse in Portage.
Mrs. Hanson attended Portage High School. She worked for Weyenberg Shoe Factory, Portage, for many years. She was also a waitress at the Badger Restaurant, Portage. She was a member of Bonnet Prairie Lutheran Church, Rio.
Survivors include her husband, Philip Hanson, Rio; one son, Kevin (Marianne Corso) Hanson, Pardeeville; two daughters, Linda (Greg) Smithback, DeForest, and Lisa (Don Bednarik) Charmley, Pardeeville; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Franklin and Bernard Bublitz, and four sisters, Alma Colias, Eleanor Stabenaw, Inez Price, and Ruth Burgess.
Friends may call on Tuesday, Aug. 7, from 5 p.m. until the time of service at the Vangen Funeral Home, Rio.
Memorials may be made to the family, or the American Cancer Society.
William E. Christensen
ELKTON, Tenn. - William Elwood Christensen, 71, of Elkton, Tenn., died on Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2001 at Hillside Hospital, Pulaski, Tenn.
The funeral will be held on Thursday, Aug. 9, at 3 p.m., at the Carr and Erwin Chapel, Pulaski, Tenn. Burial will be in Dunnavant cemetery.
Mr. Christensen was born on July 23, 1930, in Wisconsin, the son of William and Clara (Madison) Christensen
Mr. Christensen was a veteran of the Korean War and was retired from the U.S. Army.
Survivors include his wife, Doris Christensen, Elkton, Tenn., one son, Pete Whitt, Cold Water, Tenn.; one daughter, Tina Carlton, Elkton, Tenn.; four grandchildren; nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

Doris M. Rowe
RIO/WYOCENA - Doris M. Rowe, 84, formerly of Rio, died on Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2001, at the Columbia Health Care Center, Wyocena.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, Aug. 11, 2001, at 11 a.m., at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Rio. The Rev. Donald Wiecki will officiate. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Catholic cemetery.
Mrs. Rowe was born on Dec. 10, 1916, in the township of Lowville, the daughter of George and Josephine (Traut) Dowdell. She was married
on June 13, 1942, to John G. Rowe at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Rio.
Mrs. Rowe graduated from Rio High School and went on to graduate from Columbia County Teachers College, Columbus. She taught for a number of years before getting married
. She was a longtime member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Rio, serving as its organist for over 50 years. She was also active in the Altar Society and served on many parish activities and functions. She and her husband helped in establishing a mission in Cambra. She was active in helping in 4-H. She did babysitting for many years in Rio at her home. She was a member of the Retired Teachers Association. She also helped at the Rio Nutritional Site.
Survivors include four sons, Donald (Kay) Rowe, Rio, Dan (Joan) Rowe, DeForest, Dave (Cindy) Rowe, Poynette, and Ralph (Pat) Rowe, Fort Atkinson, three daughters, Rita (Ralph) Pulver, and Joanne (Jay) Eggleston, both of Rio, and Barbara Widen, McFarland; 17 grandchildren; nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John G. Rowe, on Aug. 26, 1975, and one brother, Donald Dowdell.
Friends may call on Friday, Aug. 10, from 4 to 8 p.m. with a prayer service at 8 p.m., at the Vangen Funeral Home, Rio.
Clyde M. Towne
WAUPUN - Clyde M. Towne, 89, of Waupun, died on Monday, Aug. 6, 2001, at the Christian Home, Waupun.
The funeral will be held on Friday, Aug. 10, at 10:30 a.m., at Emmanuel Reformed Church, Waupun. The Rev. Rick Boon will officiate. Burial will be in Alto cemetery. Graveside military rites will be conducted by American Legion Post No. 210.
Mr. Towne was born on June 22, 1912, in Lamartine, the son of Frank and Clara (Wells) Towne. He was married
on Aug. 28, 1947, to Josie Boerson at the Alto Reformed Church.
Mr. Towne served at the Aleutian Islands during World War II, completing five years of military service in the U.S. Army. He farmed in the Waupun area for a few years then worked for Mercury Marine, Fond du Lac, where he retired in 1977 after 25 years. He and his wife were members of Emmanuel Reformed Church, Waupun, most of their married
life. He spent most of his spare time with family, as he was a devoted and loving husband, father, and grandfather.
Survivors include his wife, Josie Towne, Waupun; two sons, Daniel C. Towne, and Steven B. (Claudia) Towne, both of Waupun; two grandsons, Aaron and Paul Towne, Waupun; two sisters, Retta Lemiesz, and Evelyn Randall, both of Fond du Lac; one sister-in-law, Maude Towne, Fond du Lac; nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
He was preceded in death by five brothers, Frank "Leslie", Clifford, Lyle, Claude, and Robert, and one sister, Vivian Buntruck.

Marilyn M. Neitzel
WATERTOWN - Marilyn M. Neitzel, 70, of 1203 Ochs Court, Watertown, died on Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2001, at Oconomowoc Memorial Hospital.
The funeral will be held on Saturday, Aug. 11, at 11 a.m., at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Watertown. The Rev. Karl Walter will officiate. Burial will be in Pilgrim's Rest cemetery, Lebanon.
Mrs. Neitzel was born on Nov. 30, 1930, in White River, S.D., the daughter of the Rev. Alwin T. and Lydia (Zempel) Degner. She was married
on May 30, 1951, to Lawrence Helmke. She was later married
on May 19, 1973, to Elmer Neitzel in the town of Oak Grove.
Mrs. Neitzel was a retired business manager of Medical Associates of Watertown. She was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Watertown, and a member of the Rock River Chorus and Village Variations.
Survivors include her husband, Elmer Neitzel, Watertown; four children, Laurel (Don) Bartow, Aurora, Colo., Mark Helmke, San Antonio, Texas, Paul Helmke, Aurora, Colo., and Donn (Beth) Helmke, Watertown; four step-children, Lorinda (the Rev. Jeffrey) Suhr, Appleton, James Neitzel, Watertown, Timothy (Roberta) Neitzel, Ixonia, and Marilyn (the Rev. Mark) Henke, Oakdale, Minn.; three sisters, Doris (Peter) Westra, Beaver Dam, Alva Degner, Denver, Colo., and Lois (Prof. Jerald) Plitzuweit, New Ulm, Minn.; 15 grandchildren; nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
She was preceded in death by parents, and her first husband, Lawrence Helmke, on Jan. 28, 1970.

Gladys Zabel
PRINCETON - Gladys Zabel, 84, died on Sunday, Aug. 5, 2001, at Sunnyview Health and Rehabilitation Center, Princeton, where she had been a resident.
The funeral is pending with the Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home, Waupun.
Ralph J. Neuman
FALL RIVER - Ralph J. Neuman, 78, of Fall River, died peacefully in his sleep on Friday, Aug. 3, 2001, at his home in Fall River.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 7, at 11 a.m., at St. Peter's Catholic Church, Beaver Dam. The Revs. William Key, Bud Hollfelder, Daniel Finnane, and Gary Wankerl will officiate. Burial will be in Annunciation cemetery, Lost Lake.
Mr. Neuman was born on March 23, 1923, in the town of Calamus, the son of George and Clara (Hepp) Neuman. He was married
on Aug. 19, 1944, to Alice M. Zemp at St. Peter's Catholic Church, Beaver Dam.
Mr. Neuman was devoted to his family. He spent his entire life farming within a mile of his home place. For 56 years, he and his wife raised their children and their crops with care and patience. They were a model of love and respect for all who knew them. He enjoyed a good card game, hunting, keeping older equipment productive and having his children and grandchildren visit. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, and a life long member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Lost Lake. His family takes comfort knowing he is reunited with his beloved Alice.
