PARDEEVILLE - John McQueen, of rural Pardeeville, died on Monday, June 18, 2001, at his home.
The funeral is pending with the Kratz-Smedema Funeral Home, Fox Lake.
Wallace H. Riege
LOWELL - Wallace H. "Ruggles" Riege, 70, of Lowell, died on Sunday, July 15, 2001, at his home.
The funeral will be held on Wednesday, July, 18, at 11 a.m., at Salem Ev. Lutheran Church, Lowell. The Rev. Paul Vander Galien will officiate. Burial will be in Washington cemetery, town of Portland.
Mr. Riege was born on July, 13, 1931, in the town of Portland, the son of August and Edna (Huebner) Riege. He was married
on Feb. 20, 1965, to Bonnie Lou Ayres at the United Church of Christ, Lowell.
Mr. Riege served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He worked for Ptaschinski Construction, Beaver Dam, for over 30 years. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to trap, hunt and fish. In fact, his love of fishing earned him the nickname "Walleye." He was a member of Salem Ev. Lutheran Church, Lowell, and a member of the VFW Post No. 9392 in Lowell.
Survivors include his wife, Bonnie Lou Riege, Lowell; three children, Donna Riege, Sheboygan, James (Candy) Riege, Beaver Dam, and Kelly (Steve) Lepple, Juneau; four grandchildren, Myles Riege, Collin Riege, Tyler Lepple and Morgan Lepple, three sisters, Adeline Kohn, and Bernice (Harvey) Luther, both of Waterloo, and Verna Wilke, Reeseville; two brothers, Alvin Riege, Reeseville, and Melvin (Mary) Riege, Watertown; one sister-in-law, Johanna Riege; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Bernice Weber; two brothers, Leslie and Raymond Riege, and four brothers-in-law, Harold Weber, Leslie Kohn, Roy Wilke and Lawrence Hasslie.
Friends may call on Tuesday, July 17, from 5 to 8 p.m., at the Murray Community Funeral Home, Reeseville, and on Wednesday, July 18, from 10 a.m. until the time of service at Salem Ev. Lutheran Church, Lowell.
Chester G. Greuel
THERESA - Chester G. Greuel, 59, of 110 Ajay Drive, Theresa, died on Sunday, July 15, 2001, at his home.
The funeral will be held on Wednesday, July 18, at 6 p.m., at the Koepsell Funeral Home, Mayville. Cremation will follow.
Mr. Greuel was born on Oct. 1, 1941, in Milwaukee, the son of Elmer and Virginia (Krahn) Greuel. He was married
on Dec. 20, 1962, to Betty Plaskey in the town of Herman.
Mr. Greuel was employed with General Thermodynamics Inc., Iron Ridge. He was a member of the Rock Dam Lake Association.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Greuel, Theresa; four children, Paulette (Frank) Brown, Lomira, Leslie (Rick) Knorr, Beaver Dam, Vincent Greuel, Oshkosh, and Pamela (Andy Bronner) Pankow, Woodland; five brothers and sisters, Roland (Shirley) Greuel, Hustisford, Lawrence (Joanne) Greuel, Hartford, Beverly (Jack) Hoepner, Theresa, Charlaine (Kerry) Kell, West Bend, and Louis (Jayne) Greuel, New Zealand; one sister-in-law, Debbie Greuel, Hartford; seven grandchildren, Joshua, Timothy, Scot, Andrew, Jake, Eric, and Jessie "Iffin"; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Juanita, and one brother, Jeffrey.

John F. Ertl Sr.
WATERTOWN - John F. "Jack" Ertl Sr., 84, of 121 Hospital Drive, Watertown, died on Sunday, July 15, 2001, at Beverly Terrace, Watertown.
The funeral will be held on Friday, July 20, at 11 a.m., at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Watertown. The Rev. Richard Thompson will officiate. Burial will be in North Burnett cemetery, Burnett.
Mr. Ertl was born on Oct. 17, 1916, in Watertown, the son of Henry and Emma (Wuestenberg) Ertl. He was married
on Dec. 15, 1945, to Ruth N. Warber at North Burnett Lutheran Church, Waupun.
Mr. Ertl attended Watertown High School. He was employed with the Watertown Street Department for 25 years. He was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Watertown. He served in the U.S. Army and was a veteran of World War II, being stationed in Africa and Italy. He was a member of the American Legion Post No. 189, the Izaak Walton Conservation League and had served in the National Guard. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth Ertl, Watertown; three sons, John F. (Celeste Lesch) Ertl Jr., Milwaukee, Joseph M. Ertl, Silver Lake, and Jeffrey R. (Sheryl) Ertl, Watertown; five grandchildren; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Esther Pitterle, and one brother, Chester Ertl. He was the last member of his immediate family.
Friends may call on Thursday, July 19, from 4 to 7 p.m., at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Watertown, and on Friday, July 20, from 9 a.m. until the time of service, at the church.
Memorials may be made to Rev. Daniel McMiller Missionary to Panama, or to the charity of one's choice.

Frederick H. Bandlow
THERESA - Frederick H. Bandlow, 81, of 121 S. Milwaukee St., Theresa, died on Sunday, July 15, 2001, at his home.
The funeral was held on Tuesday, July 17, at 1 p.m., at St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church, Mayville. The Rev. Geoffrey Hoy officiated. Burial was in Union cemetery, Theresa.
Mr. Bandlow was born on Sept. 29, 1919, in Theresa, the son of Frederick A. and Clara (Quandt) Bandlow. He was married
on Oct. 7, 1961, to Helen Hovater Metz in Mayville.
Mr. Bandlow earned a bachelor of science degree from UW-Madison in engineering. He was employed with Chrysler Marine of Milwaukee as an electrical engineer, retiring in 1979. He was a member of St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church, Mayville, was a Theresa historian and avid photographer, and was the former Fire Chief for the village of Theresa. He enjoyed antiques with his wife, Helen.
Survivors include one daughter, Linda "Lynn" Funk, Theresa; one brother, Clyde Bandlow, Pensecola, Fla.; two grandchildren, Curtis Schmidt, Waupun, and Diane (Neal) VanBuren, Fox Lake; four great-grandchildren, Laurie, Karie, Clint and Carley; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Helen, in 1999; one son, David, and one granddaughter, Cindy.
Friends called on Tuesday, July 17, from noon until the time of service at St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church, Mayville.

Ethel M. Loomans
WAUPUN - Ethel M. Loomans, 82, of 707 E. Jefferson St., Waupun, died on Monday, July 16, 2001, at the Christian Home, Waupun, where she had been a resident.
The funeral will be held on Thursday, July 19, at 11 a.m., at Trinity Reformed Church, Waupun. The Rev. Cal Vande Zande will officiate. Burial will be in the Alto cemetery.
Mrs. Loomans was born on Feb. 13, 1919, in Montello, the daughter of Bernard and Louise Preuss. She was married
on Nov. 9, 1943, to John Loomans in Waupun.
Mrs. Loomans and her husband lived in Waupun all their married
life. She was a member of Trinity Reformed Church, Waupun.
Survivors include her husband, John Loomans, Waupun; one daughter, LaVerne (fiancee Randy Wittchow) Rens, Waupun; two sons, Derald (Jan) Loomans, Atlanta, Ga., and David (Sandra) Loomans, Wausau; two grandchildren, Jamie (Cheryl) Rens, Fond du Lac, and Julien (Jeff) Kahn, Ripon; four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Aileen Mathweg, Randolph, and Doris Harney, Milwaukee; one sister-in-law, Bernice Loomans, Waupun; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters.

Marvin G. Vant Hoff
WAUPUN - Marvin G. Vant Hoff, 66, of Waupun, died on Wednesday, July 18, 2001, at St. Mary's Hospital, Madison.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 21, at 10:30 a.m., at Emmanuel Reformed Church, Waupun. The Rev. David Parrish will officiate. Burial will have taken place in Highland Memory Gardens, town of Trenton.
Mr. Vant Hoff was born on Feb. 17, 1935, in Dodge County, the son of Albert and Sadie (Sommers) Vant Hoff. He was married
on March 25, 1954, to Eileen Redeker in Waupun.
Mr. Vant Hoff attended Waupun schools and was a 1953 graduate of Waupun High School. He and his wife resided in Waupun all their married
life. Following high school, he was employed by various grocery stores in the Waupun area as a meat cutter. He was later employed by Dodge Corrections in Waupun for 29 years in food service, retiring in 1996. He was a member of Emmanuel Reformed Church, Waupun, where he held the offices of deacon, elder, taught catechism, Sunday school and sang in the choir. He was a veteran of the Wisconsin National Guard. He enjoyed his grandchildren and family, traveling, golf, antiquing furniture, and serving his Lord.
Survivors include his wife, Eileen Vant Hoff, Waupun; two sons, Rick (Laurie) Vant Hoff, Waupun, and Mitchell (Crystal) Vant Hoff, Phoenix, Ariz.; two grandsons, Christopher and Alex; one granddaughter, Shelli (Don) Joss; two great-grandchildren, Jacob and Madison; one sister, Dorothy (Lloyd) Van Ess, Waupun; two brothers, Alvin (Sally) Vant Hoff, Waupun, and Clayton (Billie) Vant Hoff, Wilmington, Del.; one sister-in-law, Lydia Asmus, Waupun; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and four half-brothers.

Anthony M. Ledworowski
Anthony M. Ledworowski, 90, of Beaver Dam, died on Thursday, July 19, 2001, at Hillside Manor, Beaver Dam.
The funeral will be held on Monday, July 23, at 11 a.m., at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Beaver Dam. The Rev. Charles Scheuerell will officiate. Burial will be in St. Michael cemetery.
Mr. Ledworowski was born on May 25, 1911, in the town of Trenton, the son of Anton and Mary (Pabich) Ledworowski. He was married
on June 17, 1944, to Josephine E. Jachimowicz in Milwaukee.
Mr. Ledworowski received a certificate diploma from Beaver Dam Common School in 1927. He also received a certificate from Beaver Dam Junior Farm School in 1933 and completed UW-Madison College of Agriculture farming courses in 1938. He farmed the family homestead in the town of Trenton. In retirement, he and his wife lived at Stone Terrace for eight years. He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, Beaver Dam, and was a Fourth Degree member of the Beaver Dam Knights of Columbus.
Survivors include nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Josephine, on April 6, 2001, and two brothers, Edwin and Peter Ledworowski.
Friends may call on Monday, July 23, from 10 a.m. until the time of service at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Beaver Dam.
Memorials of choice are suggested.

John E. Challen
ONECO, Fla., - John E. Challen, died on Sunday, July 1, 2001, after a lengthy illness.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Challen; two sons, Randy and Michael Challen; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Betty (Chris) McConochie, Cambria; three sisters-in-law, B.J. (Bob) Braun, Stephanie (Jay) Kiekhaefer, and Alison Bahr, all of Beaver Dam; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Committal services will be held in Wisconsin in September.
Bernhard Voy
HORICON - Bernhard "Ben" Voy, 92, of 819 E. Maple St., Horicon, died on Thursday, July 19, 2001, at Beaver Dam Community Hospital.
The funeral will be held on Saturday, July 21, at 11 a.m., at St. Stephen's Ev. Lutheran Church, Horicon. The Rev. Daniel Seehafer will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Hill cemetery, Horicon.
Mr. Voy was born on July 17, 1909, in the town of Hubbard, the son of William and Selma (Krueger) Voy. He was married
on June 8, 1935, to Cora A. Weber at St. Stephen's Ev. Lutheran Church, Horicon.
Mr. Voy was retired from John Deere Horicon Works. He was a member of St. Stephen's Ev. Lutheran Church, Horicon, and a former deacon of the church.
Survivors include three sons, Dennis (Nancy) Voy, Maquoketta, Iowa, Gerald (Betty) Voy, Horicon, and Charles Voy, Milwaukee; one brother, Carl Voy, Horicon; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Cora, in 2000; two sisters, Henrietta and Ruth, and one brother, Palmer.

Joseph P. DuFour
WAUKESHA - Joseph P. DuFour, 85, of Waukesha, died on Thursday, July 19, 2001.
The funeral will be held on Saturday, July 21, at 11:30 a.m., at Larson Bros. New Berlin Funeral Home, 15250 W. National Ave, New Berlin. Burial will be in Veteran's cemetery, Union Grove.
Mr. DuFour was a retired salesperson of 40 years in the dairy industry. He was a Fourth Degree Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus.
Survivors include his wife, Leola K. (nee Kendall) DuFour; three children, Spencer (Virginia) DuFour, Belgium, Sharon (Jerry) Adelmeyer, Waukesha, and Timothy (Kathy) DuFour, Sheboygan; one sister, Marion Wiideman, Escanaba, Mich.; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Bill and Joey DuFour.
