Beatrice Turner
MAYVILLE - Beatrice "Bea" Turner, 77, of 1345 Dayton St., Mayville, died on Saturday, Nov. 18, 2000, at St. Luke's Hospital, Milwaukee.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 21, at 11 a.m., at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Mayville. The Rev. Charles Wester will officiate. Burial will be in St. Mary's cemetery, Mayville. Graveside military rites will be conducted by the Mayville American Legion Post No. 69.
Mrs. Turner was born on Aug. 14, 1923, in Syracuse, N.Y., the daughter of Stanley and Helen (Lange) Gladziszewski. She was married
on June 21, 1947, to Gerald Turner in Syracuse, N.Y.
Mrs. Turner was a 1941 graduate of St. Vincent De Paul High School, Syracuse, N.Y. She was employed by the city of Mayville water department for 13 years. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Mayville, a member of the Mayville Senior Citizens, a member of the Mayville Golf Course and a member of the Mayville American Legion Post No. 69. She was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Navy in Hawaii.
Survivors include her children, Terrie Turner, Waukesha, Patricia Collins, Weatherford, Texas, Timothy (Amy) Turner, Madison, Dr. Michael (Mary) Turner, Indianapolis, Ind.; two sisters, Bernadine (Norris) Schick, Dewitt, N.Y., and Leonette Dunn, Syracuse, N.Y.; one brother, Richard (Eleanor) Gladziszewski, Sun City, Fla.; six grandchildren; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Gerald, in 1992; and one brother, Eugene.
Friends may call on Tuesday, Nov. 21, from 9 a.m. until the time of service, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Mayville.

Viola L. Vangen
RIO - Viola L. Vangen, 81, of rural Rio, died on Sunday, Nov. 19, 2000, at Columbus Community Hospital.
The funeral will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 22, at 11 a.m., at Redeemer Lutheran Church, Rio. The Rev. Richard Dowling will officiate. Burial will be in Bonnet Prairie cemetery, near Rio.
Mrs. Vangen was born on April 15, 1919, in the township of Hampden, the daughter of Otto and Ella (Behncke) Lange. She was married
on May 19, 1942, to Lawrence A. Vangen in Doylestown.
Mrs. Vangen was a 1937 graduate of Columbus High School and a 1939 graduate of Columbia County Teachers College, Columbus. She received her B.E. degree in elementary education in 1967 from UW-Whitewater. She taught in surrounding rural schools for 10 years and later taught in Rio Elementary School for 22 years. She was a member of the Columbia County Retired Teachers Association, a member of the Redeemer Lutheran Church, Rio, where she served as president of the WOC, and a member of the Mary Circle. She also served on the Outreach Committee and the Sunshine Committee.
Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Lawrence Vangen, Rio; two sons, Larry Vangen, Louisville, Ky., and Alan (Faith) Vangen, Rio; one brother, Adelbert (Mae) Lange, Watertown; two granddaughters; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Edward Lange; and two sisters, Armilla Hendrickson, and Mildred Mae Lange, in infancy.

Ruth E. Melcher
Ruth E. Melcher, 84, of 803 S. University Ave., Beaver Dam, died on Tuesday, Nov. 21, 2000, at Hillside Manor Nursing Home, Beaver Dam.
A private family service will be held at the Koepsell Funeral Home, Beaver Dam. The Rev. Mark Lindner will officiate. Burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens, town of Trenton.
Mrs. Melcher was born on May 17, 1916, in Beaver Dam, the daughter of Robert and Myrtle (Brower) Dorn. She was married
on May 5, 1942, to Erwin Yuds. She was married
on June 23, 1947, to Marvin Melcher.
Mrs. Melcher was a member of St. Stephen's Ev. Lutheran Church, Beaver Dam.
Survivors include one daughter, Carol Ruenger, Beaver Dam; two brothers, Earl Dorn, Chattanooga, Tenn., and Glenn (Elaine) Dorn, Beaver Dam; one sister-in-law, Alberta Falbe, Beaver Dam; two grandsons, Bradly (fiance, Penny Bentz) Straseske, and Douglas (fiance, Lisa Herrick) Straseske, both of Beaver Dam; one great-granddaughter, Breanna Carol Straseske, Beaver Dam; one niece, Beverly (Merlin) Gentz, Appleton; two nephews, Randy (Teresa) Dorn, Tennessee, and Michael Melcher, Gastonia, N.C.; relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Erwin, on Dec. 8, 1943, in Italy, during World War II; and her second husband, Marvin, in 1998.
There will be no visitation.

Japheth A. Justman
WAUSAU - Japheth A. Justman, 17, died Sunday, Nov. 19, 2000, as the result of an automobile accident.
Japheth was born March 19, 1983, in Wausau, the son on Roger and Dorothy (Bublitz) Justman.
He graduated from St. Peter's Lutheran Grade School and was a Senior at Northland Lutheran High School. He was a member of the Northland Northwinds Choir, and was active in soccer, track and basketball and was on the yearbook staff. He was an avid race fan and was a member of the pit crew for Wayne Breintenfeldt. He was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, Weston.
He is survived by one brother, Jared Justman, Milwaukee; two sisters, Jodi Justman, Tacoma, Wash., and Rebecca Justman, Wausau; paternal grandparents, Arthur and Verona Justman, Iron Ridge; maternal grandparents, Alfred and Fern Bublitz, Hartford; aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Fridends may call on Friday at Northland Lutheran High School, Wausau, from 3 to 7 p.m., with a service at 7 p.m., and on Saturday a funeral service will be held at Peace Ev. Lutheran Church in Hartford at 3 p.m. with visitation from 1 p.m. until the time of service, at the church.

Roger A. Justman
WAUSAU - Roger A. Justman, 50, died Sunday, Nov. 19, 2000, as the result of an automobile accident.
Roger was born Jan. 20, 1950, in Beaver Dam, the son of Arthur and Verona (Keller) Justman. He married
Dorothy Bublitz on July 22, 1972 at Peace Lutheran Church in Hartford.
Roger graduated St. Matthew's Lutheran Grade School, Iron Ridge and Hartford Union High School in 1968. He attended Carthage College in Kenosha and was employed at the Wausau Insurance Company for over 20 years. He was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Weston, past president of the Northland Lutheran High School Board of Directors, and served on numerous church boards at Our Saviors and Redeemer Churches. He played summer league softball in Wausau and volunteered at the Dime and Dollar Store. Roger was very involved and active with his children, and a loving husband and father.
He is survived by one son, Jared Justman, Milwaukee; two daughters, Jodi Justman, Tacoma, Wash., and Rebecca Justman, Wausau; his parents, Arthur and Verona Justman, Iron Ridge; seven brothers and sisters, Merlin Justman, Mayville, Beverly (Harney) Freitag, McFarland, Marvin Justman, Horicon, Roy (Bonnie) Justman, West Bend, Barbara (Gary) Beck, Green Bay, Ralph (Melissa) Justman, Iron Ridge, and Dori (Dan) Vollmer, Mayville; nieces, nephews, and relatives and friends.

Barbara L. Brcik
NECEDAH - Barbara Lynn Brcik, 53, of Necedah, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2000.
The funeral will be held on Monday, Nov. 27, at 1 p.m., at the Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home, Waupun. The Rev. Michael Bausch will officiate. Burial will be in Forest Mound cemetery, Waupun.
Mrs. Brcik was born on Nov. 23, 1947, the daughter of Bernard and Grace (Molter) Redeker. She was married
on July 13, 1968, to Milo Brcik in Claridon Hills, Ill.
Mrs. Brcik was a 1965 graduate of Hinsdale High School in Hinsdale, Ill. In 1975 the couple moved to Necedah, where they established a restaurant called the Woodbine Inn, which they owned and operated along with their partner for the past 25 years. She loved to sit by the lake at night and listen to loons talk. She also loved her football, especially the Green Bay Packers.
She was a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt and friend who is survived by her husband, Milo Brcik, Necedah; one son, Robert Brcik, Necedah; one daughter, Candace (Mike) Beranek, Necedah; one brother, Ronald (Marilyn) Redeker, Woodridge, Ill.; one niece, Sherry (Ron) Stella, Darien, Ill.; her father, Bernard Redeker, Necedah; relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Grace, in 1993.

Edward J. Van Gent
WAUPUN - Edward J. Van Gent, 71, of Waupun, died on Thursday, Nov. 23, 2000, at the home of his daughter in Waupun.
The funeral will be held on Monday, Nov. 27, at 10:30 a.m., at Ebenezer Reformed Church, Leighton, Iowa. The Rev. Andy Kamphuis will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery, town of Black Oak.
Mr. Van Gent was born on April 19, 1929, in Otley, Iowa, the son of Peter and Dorothy (Verwers) Van Gent. He was married
on June 16, 1955, to Eleanor Hasselman in Leighton, Iowa.
Mr. Van Gent and his wife were missionaries to the American Indians through the Reformed Church in America in Macy, Neb., from 1956 to 1962, and from 1962 to 1968 in Winnebago, Neb. The family then moved to Zeeland, Mich, where he was employed by Bethany Christian Services in Grand Rapids, Mich., from 1970 to 1984, and was an active member of Community Reformed Church. They then moved to Mountain Home, Ark., where he owned a Magnetite Inside Storm Window dealership, retiring in 1992. He was an active member of First Baptist Church in Mountain Home, Ark. In July of 2000, they moved to Waupun.
Survivors include his wife, Eleanor Van Gent, Waupun; one son, Elliot (Diana) Van Gent, Zeeland, Mich.; two daughters, Elissa (Nevin) Webster, Waupun, and Elona (husband, Gregg Harrison) Van Gent, Grand Rapids, Mich.; 11 grandchildren; two sisters, Esther Van Wyk, Lynnville, Iowa, and Janice Henning, Kilduff, Iowa; one brother, Kenneth (Esther) Van Gent, Pella, Iowa; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by an infant brother and sister; and his parents.

Lydia L. Hahn
REESEVILLE - Lydia L. Hahn, 75, of W8588 Cowbird Road, Reeseville, died on Tuesday, Nov. 21, 2000, at Beaver Dam Community Hospital.
The funeral will be held on Saturday, Nov. 25, at 10 a.m., at Salem Ev. Lutheran Church, Lowell. The Rev. Paul Vander Galien will officiate. Burial will be in Reeseville cemetery.
Mrs. Hahn was born on Feb. 8, 1925, in the town of Lowell, Dodge County, the daughter of Paul and Celia (Franz) Braatz. She was married
on June 4, 1941, to Reuben R. Hahn. She was married
on May 15, 1960, to Eugene Hahn in Lowell.
Mrs. Hahn was a lifelong resident of the Reeseville area. She farmed with her husbands for many years, was a member of Salem Ev. Lutheran Church, Lowell, the Ladies Aid of the church, and was a former Hiawatha Clippers 4-H leader for many years.
Survivors include her husband, Eugene Hahn, Reeseville; one son, Floyd Hahn, Horicon; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one sister, Verona (Oliver) Wright, Beaver Dam; one brother, Oscar (Cheryl) Braatz, Chicago; her special friends, Art (Dorothy) Nickel, Lake Mills; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Reuben R. Hahn, in October of 1959; one son, Jerome Hahn, in March of 1960; and two brothers, Arthur and Orley Braatz.

Vernon Linchesky
Vernon Linchesky, 69, of Beaver Dam, formerly of Saddle Ridge, Portage, died on Tuesday, Nov. 21, 2000, at Beaver Dam Community Hospital.
The funeral was held on Friday, Nov. 24, at 11 a.m., at Grace Presbyterian Church, Beaver Dam. The Rev. Jack Harrison officiated. Burial was in Kiel City cemetery, Kiel. Military rites were conducted by the VFW Post No. 6707 of Kiel.
Mr. Linchesky was born on Aug. 18, 1931, in Des Moines, Iowa, the son of Max and Eulah (Cunion) Linchesky. He was married
on Dec. 7, 1957, to Mary Jane Rockwell in Madison. He was married
on June 12, 1988, to Carolyn Jaschob Walber in Kiel.
Mr. Linchesky was a Gurnee Illinois High School graduate. He was employed as a railroad engineer. He was a member of Grace Presbyterian Church, Beaver Dam, the American Legion and the DAV. He was in the U.S. Navy from April 1, 1951 to March 31, 1954, serving 26 months in Japan.
Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Linchesky, Beaver Dam; one daughter, Jacqualine (James) Ungrodt, Kiel; grandsons, Christopher (Lisa) Ungrodt, Sheboygan, and Timothy Ungrodt, Dallas, Texas; step-children, Debbie (Troy) Walker, Peggy (Elliot) Meyers, and Jeffrey Walber, all of Beaver Dam, and Steven (Julie) Walber, Kiel; grandchildren, Rebecca, Noelle, Gabrielle and Isabelle Walker, Taylor and Carley Meyers, Samuel and Claire Walber, and Quinton and Jade Anna Walber; one brother, Max (Midge) Linchesky, Chicago; two sisters, Joanne Hernandez, Chicago, and Judy (Robert) Heeman, Darien, Ill.; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his first wife, Mary Jane.

Verla L. Westphal
JUNEAU - Verla L. Westphal, 72, of Juneau, died on Sunday, Nov. 19, 2000, at the Columbus Center.
The funeral will be held on Friday, Nov. 24, at 6 p.m., at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church, Juneau. The Rev. Thomas Biedenbender will officiate. Burial will be in St. John's cemetery, Juneau.
Mrs. Westphal was born on June, 25, 1928, in Hankison N.D., the daughter of Alfred and Gertrude Medenwaldt. She was married
on June 15, 1952, to Dennis Westphal in Hankison N.D.
Mrs. Westphal and her husband moved to Juneau in 1956. She taught Sunday school in North Dakota and attended Bible class in Juneau at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church. She was a long time member of St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church, Juneau, and a Christian woman, true to her faith.
Survivors include her husband, Dennis Westphal, Juneau; three daughters, Sherry (Robert) Koopmans, Randolph, Faith (Jon) Malson, Hartford, and Holly (Douglas) Laitinen, Randolph; seven grandchildren, Heather and Jenna Koopmans, Renee, Sarah and Tyler Malson, and Lacey and Levi Laitinen; her mother, Gertrude Medenwaldt, Juneau; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Alfred Medenwaldt; and two infant sisters.
