Donald Ganz
WAUPUN - Donald "Yogi" Ganz, 72, of Waupun, died peacefully at his home, with his family by his side, on Friday, Oct. 20, 2000, after a long battle with cancer.
A memorial funeral service will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 24, at 1 a.m., at United Methodist Church, Waupun. The Rev. Doris Hanson will officiate. Burial will be in Forest Mound cemetery, Waupun.
Mr. Ganz was born on Jan. 29, 1928, in Waupun, the son of William and Lora (Graves) Ganz. He was married
on March 5, 1949, to Cleo Dell Chapman.
Mr. Ganz served in the U.S. Army Occupational Forces in Japan during World War II with the 533 Rocket Battalion. He was a member of the National Association of Letter Carriers Branch No. 507, where he delivered mail in Waupun for over 40 years; a member of the United Methodist Church, Waupun; a lifetime member and past commander of VFW Post No. 6709; a 27 year member of the American Legion Post No. 210, Waupun; a 14 year member of the Dodge County 40/8 Post No. 856, and was very active in American Legion baseball.
Survivors include one son, Stephen Ganz, Hemet, Calif.; two daughters, Susan (Dennis) Veleke, Montello, and Lorrie (Roger) Kreuziger, Waupun; eight grandchildren, Dean (Kelly) Kreuziger, Aime (Bob) Hartgerink, Sara Long, Melissa (John) Rosenthal, Jessie Veleke, Matthew Ganz, Andy Kreuziger and Michael Ganz; five great-grandchildren, Megan, Alyssa, Amber, Kersten and Nicholas; two brothers, Douglas (Delores) Ganz, and Jerry "Baldy" (Sally) Ganz, both of Waupun; one sister-in-law, Mary (Chuck) Ondrejka, Markesan; mother-in-law, Marie Chapman, Tucson, Ariz.; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one infant daughter, Patricia Ganz; and one son, Robert Ganz.
Friends may call on Tuesday, Oct. 24, from 9 a.m. until the time of service, at United Methodist Church, Waupun.
Memorials may be made to United Methodist Church, Waupun, or Hospice Hope, Fond du Lac.

Cheryl A. Wilken
COLUMBUS/MADISON - Cheryl A. Wilken, 42, died on Monday, Oct. 23, 2000, at Columbus Community Hospital.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, Oct. 26, at 11:30 a.m., at St. Jerome Catholic Church, Columbus. The Rev. Bruce Hennington will officiate. Burial will be in St. Jerome cemetery, Columbus.
Ms. Wilken was born on Aug. 3, 1958, in Madison, the daughter of Donald and Shirley (Keichinger) Wilken.
Ms. Wilken was a 1977 graduate of Columbus High School and a member of St. Jerome Catholic Church, Columbus. She was a Madison resident and was employed by Create-Abilities, Madison, for 12 years.
Survivors include her parents, Don and Shirley Wilken, Fall River; four sisters, Carol Donner, Otsego, Christine (Greg) Miller, Marshall, Debra (Rick) Baerwolf, and Diane Wilken, both of Fall River; five brothers, Donald (E.J.) Wilken, Uncasville, Conn., Dan (Jeanie) Wilken, and Craig Wilken, both of Fall River, Douglas Wilken, Sun Prairie, David (Amy) Wilken, Marshall; paternal grandmother, Annie Wilken, Otsego; relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Donald Wilken; paternal grandfather, John Wilken; maternal grandparents, Harold and Clarice Keichinger; and one nephew, Aaron Miller.
Friends may call on Wednesday, Oct. 25, from 5 to 8 p.m., with a rosary service held at 7:45 p.m., at the Jones-Jensen Funeral Home, Columbus, and on Thursday, Oct. 26, from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service, at St. Jerome Catholic Church, Columbus.
Thelma E. Voss
Thelma E. Voss, 80, of Beaver Dam, died on Sunday, Oct. 22, 2000, at Hillside Manor Nursing Home, where she lived since June 1, 1989.
The funeral will be held on Monday, Oct. 30, at 1 p.m., at the First Ev. Lutheran Church, Beaver Dam. The Rev. Julie Krahn will officiate. Burial will be at 4 p.m., on Monday, in Oak Hill cemetery, North Freedom.
Mrs. Voss was born on Dec. 12, 1919, in Boscobel, the daughter of Otto and Myrtle Lillian (Champion) Rounds. She was married
on her birthday, Dec. 12, 1941, to Rollin H. Voss, of Clinton, in Boscobel.
Mrs. Voss was a resident of Beaver Dam since 1979, when she and her husband retired to build a new home. Before that, they had lived in Beloit, and Rockford, Ill. She worked for the Waldorf Bakery, J.D. Stewart Co., the Avon Co., and the Amway Co.
While she lived in Rockford, she was a Girl Scout leader and a vacation Bible school teacher. She belonged to various square dancing clubs with her caller husband Rollin, and they danced for 20 years. She also loved flower and fruit gardening and fishing. She was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Rockford, First Ev. Lutheran Church, Beaver Dam, and the First Lutheran Retirees.
She will be sadly missed and mourned by one son, Dale L. Voss, Indian Rocks Beach, Fla.; one daughter, Julie A. Flemming, Fox Lake; four granddaughters, Cinnamon Mayoh, Wheeling, Ill., Penny Flemming, Boston, Mass., Jill Cramer, Largo, Fla., and Katherine Hunsucker, Indian Rocks Beach, Fla.; three great-grandchildren, Kaileen Mayoh, Jack and Benjamin Voss; one brother, Paul Rounds, Gay Mills; relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Rollin, on July 22, 1996.
Friends may call on Sunday, Oct. 29, from 3 to 7 p.m., at the Kratz-Smedema Funeral Home, Fox Lake, and on Monday, Oct. 30, from 11 a.m. until the time of service, at First Ev. Lutheran Church, Beaver Dam.
Bernice E. Ries
STOUGHTON - Bernice E. Ries, 81, formerly of Beaver Dam, died on Sunday, Oct. 22, 2000, at The Nazareth House, Stoughton.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, Oct. 26, at 11 a.m., at St. Peter's Catholic Church, Beaver Dam. The Rev. William Key will officiate. Burial will be in St. Peter's cemetery, Beaver Dam.
Mrs. Ries was born on June 20, 1919, in New Holstein, the daughter of August and Vera (Prahl) Schmidt. She was married
on June 1, 1946, to Osmund P. Ries in Milwaukee.
Mrs. Ries was a 1938 graduate of Clinton High School and a graduate of Badger Academy of Beauty Culture. She was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church, Beaver Dam, and a volunteer for Meals on Wheels. She was a past member of the Christian Mothers and the Daughters of Isabella, and was a retired beautician.
Survivors include three sons, Thomas Ries, Stoughton, James (Marge) Ries, Oregon, and Steven (Debbie) Ries, Reddlands, Calif.; three grandchildren, Jason Ries, Anna Ries, and Cole Ries; one sister, Audrey (Richard) Kantin, Jacksonville, Fla.; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Osmund, on Jan. 25, 1989.
Friends may call on Wednesday, Oct. 25, from 6 to 8 p.m., at the Murray Community Funeral Home, Beaver Dam.
Walter H. Weishoff
COLUMBUS - Walter H. Weishoff, 81, of Columbus, died on Saturday, Oct. 21, 2000, at Columbus Community Hospital.
The funeral will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 25, at 1 p.m., at the Zeidler Funeral Home, Columbus. The Rev. John Hobbins will officiate. Burial will be in Hillside cemetery, Columbus.
Mr. Weishoff was born on Aug. 12, 1919, in Otsego, the son of Henry and Pearl Edith (Whaples) Weishoff.
Mr. Weishoff was employed as a bulk milk truck driver for Melvin Hermanson for 15 years. He also worked for Carlson's and Duffy Brothers Trucking, not retiring until battling lung cancer.
Survivors include one sister, Norma Schier, Columbus; one brother, Louis (Irene) Weishoff, Columbus; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Wallace, his twin, and David.
Friends may call on Wednesday, Oct. 25, from 11 a.m. until the time of service, at the Zeidler Funeral Home, Columbus.
Elmer A. Schmidt
FOX LAKE - Elmer A. Schmidt, 91, of Barrett House, 209 Forest St., Fox Lake, formerly of Kekoskee, died on Monday, Oct. 23, 2000, in Fox Lake.
The funeral will be held on Thursday, Oct. 26, at 1 p.m., at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Kekoskee. The Rev. Dennis Bratz will officiate. Burial will be in Oakwood cemetery, Beaver Dam.
Mr. Schmidt was born on May 11, 1909, in Beaver Dam, the son of William and Elizabeth Schmidt. He was married
on March 3, 1926, to Evelyn Zweck in Beaver Dam.
Mr. Schmidt was employed at Monarch Range Company as a metalsmith. He was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Kekoskee.
Survivors include two sons, Don (Jeanne) Schmidt, Mustang, Okla., and Dale (Mary) Schmidt, Titusville, Fla.; one daughter, Elizabeth Krause, Bloomer; 11 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn; one daughter, Sandra Schmidt; one son, Gerald Schmidt; five sisters, Hattie, Annie, Frieda, Edith and Martha; and two brothers, August and Fred.
Friends may call on Thursday, Oct. 26, from noon until the time of service, at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Kekoskee.

Thomas E. Johnson
WAUPUN - Thomas E. "T.J." Johnson, 62, of Waupun, died on Monday, Oct. 23, 2000, at his home, following a lengthy battle with cancer.
The funeral will be held on Friday, Oct. 27, at 10:30 a.m. The Rev. Kenneth Spence will officiate.
Mr. Johnson was born on April 11, 1938, in Fond du Lac, the son of Edward O. and Rachel (Klas) Johnson. He was married
on Nov. 17, 1962, to Donna Lehman in Waupun.
Mr. Johnson and his wife resided in Waupun all their married
life. He was employed at Mayville Metal for 21 years. He attended Pella Lutheran Church, Waupun, and was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served as a military policeman.
Survivors include his wife, Donna Johnson, Waupun; two daughters, Lori (Kurt) Miller, Victorville, Calif., and Sue Johnson, Fond du Lac; two grandchildren, Ian and Kyle; his mother, Rachel Johnson, Waupun; two sisters, Barbara Durant, Waupun, and Virginia (William) Hineline, Sierra Vista, Ariz.; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Edward O. Johnson.
Friends may call on Thursday, Oct. 26, from 5 to 8 p.m., at the Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home, Waupun, and on Friday, prior to the time of service, at the funeral home.

Roger V. Novenskie
OTSEGO - Roger V. Novenskie, 67, of Otsego died on Wednesday, Oct. 25, 2000, at Columbus Community Hospital.
The funeral will be held on Saturday, Oct. 28, at 11 a.m., at Vangen Funeral Home, Rio. The Rev. James Bolda will officiate. Burial will be in Otsego cemetery.
Mr. Novenskie was born on Sept. 12, 1933, in Otsego, the son of Vernon and Mabel (Siegert) Novenskie. He was married
on Nov. 30, 1957, to Marlene Harry in Madison.
Mr. Novenskie was a 1951 graduate of Columbus High School. He worked for over 30 years at Oconomowoc Canning Co. and Stokely's, retiring in 1994. He was a member of St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church, Doylestown.
Survivors include his wife, Marlene Novenskie, Otsego; one son, Randy (Sheryl) Novenskie, Rio; one daughter, Rhonda (Jerry) Doherty, Rio; one sister, Jane (John) Evers, Columbus; two granddaughters; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and one grandson, Jeremy Doherty.

Rose M. Steers
FOX LAKE - Rose M. Steers, 82, of Fox Lake, died on Wednesday, Oct. 25, 2000, at Beaver Dam Community Hospital.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, Oct. 27, at 11 a.m., at the Annunciation Parish Catholic Church, Fox Lake. The Rev. Michael Wild will officiate. Burial will be in Riverside Memorial Park, Fox Lake.
Mrs. Steers was born on June 6, 1918, in Phillips, the daughter of Albert and Rose (Drecksler) Schram. She was married
on Oct. 23, 1937, to Wally Steers at the Catholic parsonage in Brandon.
Mrs. Steers was a 1937 graduate of Markesan High School. She and her husband moved to the Fox Lake area in 1948, and moved to the city of Fox Lake in 1988. She was employed at various jobs in the Fox Lake area and worked for many years in the experimental lab at Green Giant in Fox Lake. She enjoyed volunteering her time with the senior citizens of Fox Lake and working at the senior citizens meal site. She loved tending to her flower beds, was an avid card player at the church and with the residents of the Barrett House in Fox Lake. She also enjoyed winning a card game or two at home, with her husband Wally. She was a dedicated member of Annunciation Parish Catholic Church, Fox Lake, and a past member of it's Altar Society.
She will be sadly missed and mourned by her husband, Wally Steers, Fox Lake; two sons, Ron (Pat) Steers, Green Bay, and Gary (Dolores) Steers, Columbus, seven grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; one sister, Betty (John) Munn, of Missouri; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by one son, Gene, in infancy.
