Warrene G. Ganske
BURNETT - Warrene G. Ganske, 95, of N7743 Butternut Road, Burnett, formerly of N6421 Highway AI, Juneau, died on Sunday, Oct. 8, 2000, at her daughters home in Burnett, surrounded by her family.
The funeral will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 11, at 11 a.m., at the Grace Presbyterian Church, Beaver Dam. The Rev. Jack Harrison will officiate. Burial will be in Oakwood cemetery, Beaver Dam.
Mrs. Ganske was born on April 15, 1905, in Wyocena, the daughter of Charles L. and Mollie (Wallick) Spear. She was married
on Dec. 15, 1934, to Stanley Ganske, in Columbus, at her mothers and fathers home.
Mrs. Ganske graduated from Columbia County Normal and taught in a rural Columbia County school for three years. She also graduated from Whitewater State Teacher's College with her twin and older sisters. After graduating, she taught in Waukesha until she was married
. She was a charter member of the High Point Homemakers Club. She was a general leader for the Highland Prairie 4-H Club for many years and was a Sunday school teacher at Grace Presbyterian Church in Beaver Dam. She was also a member of Grace Presbyterian Church. She loved crocheting and loved her five great-grandchildren immensely.
Survivors include one daughter, Joan (Calvin) Goodrich, Burnett; one son, Charles (Virginia) Ganske, Beaver Dam; three grandchildren, Michael (Lisa) Ganske, Minneapolis, Minn.; Julie (David) Woodward, Sun Prairie, and Craig (Heather) Ganske, Juneau; five great-grandchildren, Shelby and Hailey Woodward, Sun Prairie, Lauren and Rachel Ganske, Minneapolis, Minn., and Craig Ganske Jr., Juneau; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Stanley, in 1990; her twin sister, Aileen Kennedy; and an older sister, Doris Brown.
Friends may call on Wednesday Oct. 11, from 9 a.m. until the time of service at Grace Presbyterian Church, Beaver Dam.

Albert Heuer
FOX LAKE - Albert "Al" Heuer 83, of Fox Lake, died on Thursday, Oct. 5, 2000, at Beaver Dam Community Hospital.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 10, at 11 a.m., at Annunciation Parish Catholic Church, Fox Lake. The Rev. Michael Wild will officiate. Burial will be in Oakwood cemetery, Beaver Dam.
Mr. Heuer was born on July 30, 1917, on the family farm in the town of Trenton, the son of Frank and Tillie (Bauer) Heuer. He was married
on June 14, 1944, to Norma Derge at St. Peter's Catholic Church, Beaver Dam.
Mr. Heuer attended a local country school and worked on the family farm. Following his marriage, he took over the family farm, where he lived for 79 years of his life, until moving to the city of Fox Lake in 1996. Besides farming, he enjoyed traveling, playing cards, dancing and bowling. He was a member of the Fox Lake Kiwanis Club for over 30 years, a member of the Dodge County Farm Bureau, a delivery person for Meals on Wheels in Fox Lake and an active bowler with the Old Timers Bowling League in Beaver Dam. He was a dedicated member of the Annunciation Parish Catholic Church, Fox Lake.
Survivors include two sons, James (Jeanne) Heuer, Beaver Dam, and Richard (Marsha) Heuer, Two Rivers; two daughters, Mary Lynn (James) Ebert, Greendale, and Pam (Eric) Aoys, Mukwonago seven grandchildren, Nathan and Cassandra Heuer, Mitchell, John and Bradley Ebert, and Clare and Daniel Aoys; one brother, Henry (Erylnne) Heuer, Beaver Dam; one sister, Agnes (Paul) Meyer, Burnett; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife on Jan. 16, 1995, and one son, Craig on July 11, 1997.
Friends may call on Monday, Oct. 9, from 4 to 7 p.m., with a parish vigil to be held at 6:45 p.m., at the Kratz-Smedema Funeral Home, Fox Lake.
Herbert Schwantes
JUNEAU - Herbert "Happy" Schwantes, 89, of W5078 Club Ground Road, Juneau, died on Thursday, Oct. 5, 2000, at Clearview Nursing Home, Juneau.
The funeral will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 10, at 2 p.m., at Zion Lutheran Church Horicon. The Rev. Samuel A. Jackson will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Hill cemetery, Horicon.
Mr. Schwantes was born on Sept. 24, 1911, in the town of Hubbard, the son of August and Henrietta (Schmidt) Schwantes. He was married
on June 20, 1934, to Viola Franke in Horicon.
Mr. Schwantes was a life long farmer in the town of Oak Grove area, retiring in 1975. He was a former member of the church council and an usher.
Survivors include his wife, Viola Schwantes, Juneau; one brother, Harold (Darlene) Schwantes, Juneau; four sisters, Erna Nagel and Delores Dahnert, both of Hustisford, Amanda Kurtz, Menomonee Falls, and Hazel (Louis) Benter, Mayville; nieces, nephews; relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Leora Bischoff and Elsie Goecks; and two brothers, Erwin Schwantes and Arnold Schwantes.
Friends may call on Tuesday, Oct. 10, from noon until the time of service, at Zion Lutheran Church, Horicon.

Jessie Westra
RANDOLPH - Jessie Westra, 87, a resident of the Continental Manor, Randolph, died on Monday, Oct. 9, 2000, at the manor.
The funeral will be held on Thursday, Oct. 12, at 11 a.m., at First Reformed Church, Randolph. The Rev. Calvin J. Vande Zande will officiate. Burial will be in Randolph cemetery.
Mrs. Westra was born on April 15, 1913, the daughter of Jense Sr. and Gertrude (Kok) Tamminga. She was married
on Sept. 25, 1936, to Ben Westra in Friesland.
Mrs. Westra was a lifelong resident of the Randolph area. She and her husband, Ben, were dairy farmers all of their married
lives, and they enjoyed helping others in the community. She was a member of First Reformed Church, Randolph, serving faithfully for over 60 years, and was a friend to all, and loved by her family.
Survivors include one daughter, Glorene Ringhand, Madison; two sons, Berwyn (Barb) Westra, Beaver Dam, and John (Tuula) Westra, Shalimar, Fla.; six grandchildren, Harlyn and Jeffrey Ringhand, Kathy Hoel, and Bradley, Bret and Brian Westra; 10 great-grandchildren, Michael, Landon and Keaton Ringhand, Cassandra Ringhand, Samantha and Megan Hoel, Breanna and Nicholas Westra, and Ethan and Sawyer Westra; one sister-in-law, Gertie Tamminga; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ben, in 1994; one daughter, Loretta Mae Westra; one son-in-law, Mike Ringhand; one sister, Anna Elgersma; and five brothers, Tom, Henry, Gerrit, Teake and Jense Jr. Tamminga.
Friends may call on Wednesday, Oct. 11, from 5 to 8 p.m., at Randolph Community Funeral Home, and on Thursday, Oct. 12, from 10 a.m. until the time of service at First Reformed Church, Randolph.

Christian L. Vick
COLUMBUS - Christian L. "Christie" Vick, 73, of Columbus, died on Sunday, Oct. 8, 2000, at Willows Nursing Home, Sun Prairie.
The funeral will be held on Thursday, Oct. 12, at 11:30 a.m., at Zeidler Funeral Home, Columbus. The Rev. Robert Moberg will officiate. Inurnment will be on Tuesday, Oct. 17, at 10 a.m., at Hillside cemetery, Columbus.
Mr. Vick was born on May 28, 1927, in Columbus, the son of Martin and Ella (Munzel) Vick.
Mr. Vick had been a custodian for the First National Bank, Columbus, for 19 years, and retired as custodian at the Farmers & Merchants Bank, Columbus, after many years.
Survivors include one sister, Lily Lange, Columbus; one sister-in-law, Marian Vick, Beaver Dam; great-nieces, great-nephews, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Milton Vick and Lawrence Vick.

Janice K. Ptaschinski
WATERTOWN - Janice K. Ptaschinski, 64, of Watertown, died on Tuesday, Oct. 10, 2000, at her home, surrounded by her family, after a brief illness.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, Oct. 12, at 5 p.m., at Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church, Watertown. The Rev. Matthew Dallhausen will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Hill cemetery, Watertown.
Mrs. Ptaschinski was born on Aug. 20, 1936, in Clinton, Iowa, the daughter of Andrew and Marguerite (Ganderup) Rasmussen. She was married
on Aug. 23, 1958, to James Ptaschinski in Clinton, Iowa.
Mrs. Ptaschinski was a member of Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church.
Survivors include her husband, James Ptaschinski; two daughters, Cheryl (Gaddi) Haase, Israel, and Kristi (Steven) Jagler, Cudahy; four grandchildren, Justin and James Jagler, and Jonathon and Danielle Haase; one sister, Gloria (William) Lindsey, Houston, Ark.; one niece, Carole Clement; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Wilbert Giese
WAUPUN - Wilbert "Willie" Giese, 77, of Waupun, died on Monday, Oct. 9, 2000, at his home.
Private funeral services will be held on Thursday, Oct. 12, at 10:30 a.m., at Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home, Waupun. The Rev. Shelly Schultz will officiate. Burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens, the town of Trenton. American Legion Post No. 210 will provide the honor guard.
Mr. Giese was born on March 3, 1923, in the town of Trenton, the son of William and Margaret (Kovalaske) Giese. He was married
on June 20, 1946, to Doris Guse in Beaver Dam.
Mr. Giese resided in Waupun all his married
life. He was employed by Ideal Shoe Factory, Waupun, and owned and operated a bar with his wife Doris, known as Willie & Doris's for seven years. He later worked for National Rivet, Waupun, retiring in 1985. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Waupun, a member of American Legion Post No. 210, of which he was past commander, and a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Bentley-Hull Post No. 6709. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Army in China, India and Burma.
Survivors include his wife, Doris Giese, Waupun; two daughters, Patricia (Frank Van Bever) Holbach, and Beth (Doug Duer) Oppermann, both of Waupun; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one brother, Raymond Giese, Waupun; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by an infant sister; one grandson; one great-granddaughter; and two sons-in-law.

Earl T. Raabe
TUCSON, ARIZ. - Earl T. Raabe, 54, of Tucson, Ariz., formerly of Madison, died on Wednesday, Sept. 20, 2000.
Survivors include three brothers, Lee (Mary) Raabe, Edina, Minn., Duane (Mary) Raabe, Rhinelander, and Kenny (Nancy) Raabe, Black Creek; two sisters, Ellen Thompson, New Berlin, and Mary (Tony) Markhardt, Fall River; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Ruth E. Weiglein
Ruth E. Weiglein, 57, of 312 1/2 Haskell St., Beaver Dam, died on Friday, Sept. 22, 2000, at her residence.
Funeral services are pending with Koepsell Funeral Home, Beaver Dam.
Arleen Schmidt
MADISON - Arleen Schmidt, 74, Madison, died peacefully on Tuesday, Oct. 10, 2000, at her home after a long illness.
A closed casket funeral will be held on Friday, Oct. 13, at 4 p.m., at East Side Ev. Lutheran Church, 2310 Independance Lane, Madison. The Rev. Glen Schmiege will officiate. Burial will be private.
Mrs. Schmidt was born on May 16, 1926, in Beaver Dam, the daughter of Walter and Ella (Werner) Koehler. She was married
on July 26, 1947, to Leonard Schmidt.
Mrs. Schmidt became an active member of Compassionate Friends, after her son's death in 1985, and she was the president of the Wisconsin Victims Network. She lobbied in Washington D.C. and Wisconsin for victims rights and defective product recall legislation. She worked for many years at the Ramada Inn, was very active in East Side Ev. Lutheran Church, Madison, and made and sold crafts at state and local craft shows.
Survivors include her husband, Leonard Schmidt, Madison, three sons, Jon (Anna) Schmidt, Oak Park, Ill., David (Joanna) Schmidt, Cottage Grove, and Dan (Lynn) Schmidt, McFarland; one daughter, Nancy (Peter) VanSusteren, Mt. Shasta, Calif.; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Irene (Harold) Schumann, Beaver Dam, and Evelyn Schuppenhauer, Houston, Texas; one brother, Walter (Mary) Koehler, Greenville, Texas; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Dorothy; and one son, Tom.

Rodney E. Andler
Rodney E. Andler, 68, of W8031 Highway 33, Beaver Dam, died on Monday, Oct. 9, 2000, at Columbus Community Hospital.
The funeral will be held on Friday, Oct. 13, at 11 a.m., at Koepsell Funeral Home, Beaver Dam. The Rev. Paul Lindau will officiate. Burial will be in Oakwood cemetery, Beaver Dam.
Mr. Andler was born on July 1, 1932, in Columbus, the son of Evelyn Andler. He was married
on Dec. 4, 1954, to Angeline Fischer at St. Stephen's Ev. Lutheran Church.
Mr. Andler was a graduate of Columbus High School. He founded his own company, Beaver Wrecking and Salvage in 1958. His son took over the demolition part of the business in 1990 calling the business Beaver Services Inc. Beaver Wrecking and Salvage Co. is known for razing some of Beaver Dam's landmark buildings; the old fairgrounds, the old Y.M.C.A., the old National Bank, the old Beaver Hotel and Zeigler's Brewery. He and his son Blaine also razed buildings to make way for some of today's landmarks: American National Bank, Beaver Dam Police Department and fire station, the post office and the former Sentry Store.
Survivors include his wife, Angie Andler, Beaver Dam; one son, Blaine Andler, Beaver Dam; his mother, Evelyn Sekel, Beaver Dam; three half brothers, Larry (Louann) Sekel, and Allen Sekel, both of Beaver Dam, and Eugene (Vivian) Sekel, Illinois; three half-sisters, Sandra Sekel, Beaver Dam, Janice (Carl) Wendling, Arizona, and Sharon (Paul) Knack, Illinois; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by two half-brothers, Donald Sekel and Bill Sekel; and one sister-in-law, Roberta Sekel.
