GOLTZ, William A., 74, of De Pere died Wednesday July 3, 2002, at a local nursing home. William was born January 23, 1928 in Oconto Falls, the son of the late Adolph and Eleanor (Nass) Goltz. He honorably served his country in the Army. After enlisting in 1946, he achieved the rank of Technical Sargeant. William worked for many years as a steelworker until his retirement. He was a member of Iron Workers Local #8 for 50 years. William enjoyed scouting and was a former Scout Master. He also enjoyed spending time with family and friends at his trailer in Crivitz.
Survivors include his five children, Janet and Michael Calaway, De Pere, Darlene of St. Louis, Mo., Steven and Sally of Carlisle Bad, Calif., Robert and special friend Dawn of Rockford, Ill., and Lisa and David Blume of Marietta, Ga.; two brothers, Ottis "Tiny" and Myrtle of Abrahms and Dick and Rachel of Stiles; long time special friend and companion Jane Nohr of De Pere; her children Steven and Barb Nohr, De Pere, William and Darlene Nohr, Peshtigo, Kathy and John Byrne, Green Bay and Karen and Butch Schwartz, Green Bay; mother of his children, Gloria, De Pere; and 13 grandchildren.
William was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, David; two sisters, Caroline and Clara "Mickey;" and one nephew, Gary.
Friends may call at Ryan Funeral Home, 305 N. 10th St., De Pere on Monday, July 8, 2002, from 4 to 8 p.m. A prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue Tuesday at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, 210 S. Oneida St. from 10 a.m. to the time of service.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. at the church with Pastor carl Ehrfurth officiating. Burial in the Nicolet Memorial Gardens Cemetary.
William's family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Rennes Nursing Home for all of their compassionate care.
KROPP, Harriet, 88, lifetime resident of Howard, passed away on Thursday, July 4, 2002, at a local nursing home.
The family will receive friends at the Pfotenhauer Funeral Home, 1145 Cardinal Lane, Howard, on Monday, July 8, from 3 p.m. until 8 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 9, St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Howard, with the Rev. Gregory Smith officiating. Burial in the Church cemetery. Harold J. Pfotenhauer, Funeral Director.
In lieu of flowers and other expressions of sympathy, a memorial fund has been established at the funeral home in Harriet's name.
METZNER, Marian G., 71, Ashwaubenon, died Thursday, July 4, 2002, at a local hospital, surrounded by her family. She was born Oct. 16, 1930, in Maplewood to the late Adrian and Ann (Franda) Schmidt. On Sept. 6, 1952, she married Sylvester Metzner Sr. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Maplewood. Marian was a member and volunteer at Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church and a member of the VFW Auxiliary Post #2037.
Survivors include seven children and spouses, Ron and Sue Metzner, Neenah, Sylvester Jr. and Patti Metzner, Green Bay, Dan and Judy Metzner, Green Bay, Colleen and John Apps, Green Bay, Mary and Brian Lambie, Green Bay, Kathy Metzner and fiancé, Dennis Whiting, Green Bay, and Jeff and Rose Metzner, Porterfield; 16 grandchildren, John, Karen and Tom Metzner, Joe and Molly Metzner, Amy and Adam Metzner, Brittany, Alec, Marshall and Marcus Apps, Taycie Lenhart, Chad and Aaron Lambie, and Haley and Kierstin Metzner; one sister and brother-in-law, Annette and Paul Baudhuin, Rockford, Ill.; one brother and sister-in-law, Adrian Jr. and Kay Schmidt, Maplewood; brother-in-law, Bob (Katie) Metzner, Oconto Falls; sisters-in-law, Germaine (Jack) Pieper, Florida, and Veronica Pauzé, Fond du Lac; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Audrey Schmidt.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday (today) at Lyndahl Funeral Home, Lombardi Avenue and Ridge Road, where a parish wake service will be held at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue after 10 a.m. Monday at Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church where the Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:30 a.m. with the Rev. James Hablewitz officiating. Entombment will be in Allouez Chapel Mausoleum.
The family would like to thank the entire staff of Odd Fellows Nursing Home for the loving care that was given to Marian and to Debbie and Yvonne and the staff at St. Vincent Hospital.
WILLIQUETTE, Frances C. (Casper), 85, a lifelong resident of Duck Creek, passed away Tuesday, July 2, 2002.

VERHAGEN, Robert Ervin, 79, Allouez. A private service and interment were held at Woodlawn Cemetery, Green Bay. Survivors include his wife, Beatrice; one daughter, Vickie, Salt Lake City, Utah; one son, Bill (Mari), Rockledge, Fla; two granddaughters; one great-grandson; one sister, Mildred (Melvin) Erdmann. WILLEMS, Gabrielle Catherine, infant daughter of Aaron and Cathy (Schneider) Willems, died suddenly Saturday, June 29, 2002, at an area hospital. Her parents, maternal grandparents John and Marge Schneider of Green Bay and paternal grandparents Mike and Julie Willems of De Pere survive Gabrielle.
She is further survived by her maternal great-grandparents, Frank and Dom Molik, paternal great-grandmother Dorothy Thomson, aunts Diane Schneider and Tami Willems, Uncles David (Janis) Schneider and Brad Willems, and many other family and friends.
Private funeral services were held Monday July 1, 2002, at Our Lady Of Lourdes Parish in De Pere, Burial took place in Mount Calvary Cemetery. RYAN FUNERAL HOME assisted the family with arrangements.
