Falcon Rivera Rubio
Falcon Rivera Rubio, 76, of Beaver Dam, died on Sunday, Sept. 10, 2000, at the Beaver Dam Care Center.
The funeral will be held on Friday, Sept. 15, at 11 a.m., at the Faith Community Christian Reformed Church, Beaver Dam. The Rev. Larry Meyer will officiate. Burial will be in Oakwood cemetery, Beaver Dam.
Mr. Rivera Rubio was born on Jan. 5, 1924, in Mexico, the son of Luis and Soledad (Rubio) Rivera.
Mr. Rivera Rubio was a resident of Beaver Dam since 1974. He worked at the Monarch Range Co., Beaver Dam, and Green Valley Enterprises before retiring in 1998. He was a member of Faith Community Christian Reformed Church, Beaver Dam.
Survivors include his wife, Irma Rivera, Homestead, Fla.; his children, Graciela Burger, Beaver Dam, Juanita Martinez, South Carolina, Julia Rivera, Sebring, Fla., Marguerita (Albert) Dane, Sally Rivera, and Falcon Rivera Jr., all of Homestead, Fla.; 13 grandchildren; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and one sister, Lupita Rivera Rubio.
Friends may call on Friday, Sept 15, from 10 a.m. until the time of service, at Faith Community Christian Reformed Church, Beaver Dam.

Janet J. Neilson
CAMBRIA - Janet June Neilson, 91, of Cambria, died peacefully on Wednesday, Sept. 13, 2000, at the Columbus Care Center.
The funeral will be held on Saturday, Sept. 16, at 11 a.m., at First Presbyterian Church, Cambria. The Rev. Julie WaterDu will officiate. Burial will be in Cambria cemetery.
Mrs. Neilson was born on June 2, 1909, in the town of Springvale, the daughter of Jesse and Alice (Hughes) Closs. She was married
on Nov. 11, 1930, to Harold W. Neilson.
Mrs. Neilson was raised on the family farm, attended the Welsh Prairie Country School and graduated from Cambria High School in 1928. She furthered her education by attending a business college and enjoyed working for the Cambria State Bank until her marriage. After raising two daughters, she went back to work in 1953 as a secretary for a local canning company and retired in 1973.
She was active in her community serving as the village treasurer, was treasurer for the Water and Sewer department, treasurer for Royal Neighbors, Women's Club and Board of Deacons for the Presbyterian Church in Cambria. She also served on the board of directors for Parkview Apartments, where she resided in her later years. She was a member of the Woodside Homemakers, the First Presbyterian Church, its Ladies Circle and served two terms as deacon.
She will always be remembered for her famous sugar cookies and homemade apple pies, hre contentment with crossword puzzles and the never ending love that she gave to her family and friends.
Survivors include one daughter, Marilyn (Walter) Otto, DeForest; 11 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; one son-in-law, Robert "Chub" Dolgner, Kingston; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harold, in January 1964; one daughter, Betty Dolgner, in 1995; one sister; one brother; and a dear friend Oscar "Doc", in 1997.
Friends may call on Friday, Sept. 15, from 4 to 8 p.m., at the Kratz-Smedema Funeral Home, Cambria, and on Saturday, Sept. 16, from 10 a.m. until the time of service, at First Presbyterian Church, Cambria.
Dorothy R. Marthaler
Dorothy "Dot" Rose Marthaler, 73, of W9327 Highway D, Beaver Dam, died on Monday, Sept. 18, 2000, at University Hospital, Madison.
The funeral will be held on Thursday, Sept. 21, at 11 a.m., at St. Stephen's Ev. Lutheran Church, Beaver Dam. The Rev. David Bode will officiate. Burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens, township of Trenton.
Mrs. Marthaler was born on June 30, 1927, in Beaver Dam, the daughter of Ray and Adela (Frankenstein) Wendt. She was married
on June 15, 1946, to William Marthaler in Milwaukee.
Mrs. Marthaler was a member of St. Stephen's Ev. Lutheran Church, Beaver Dam, and a member of Dodge County Friends of Animals. Dorothy loved her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and her animals. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
Survivors include her husband, William Marthaler, Beaver Dam; her children, Susan (Larry) Shute, Beaver Dam, Sandra Teichmiller, Bagley, Sheryl (Denis) Budde, Juneau, Shelley Schuett, Beaver Dam, Steven (Gidget) Marthaler, Shiocton, and Stacey (James) Reisetter, Beaver Dam; one brother, Duane (Alice) Wendt, Las Vegas; 12 grandchildren, Dawn Saeger, Heather Draeger, and John Shute, Desiree Teichmiller, Thomas Marthaler, Amanda Ehlenfeldt, Tiffany Ehlenfeldt, April Schuett and Alex Schuett, Richie and Shaun Marthaler, and Chase Reisetter; five great-grandchildren, Zacharey and Levi Draeger, and Aaron, Brandon, and Hunter Saeger; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents.

John H. Boomsma
RANDOLPH - John H. Boomsma, 74, of N6914 Schilling Road, Randolph, died on Friday, Sept. 15, 2000, at the home of his daughter.
The funeral will be held on Monday, Sept. 18, at 11 a.m., at Randolph United Methodist Church. The Rev. Jason Dickerson will officiate. Burial will be in Randolph cemetery.
Mr. Boomsma was born on May 22, 1926, in Chicago, the son of Harry and Jeannette (Haan) Boomsma.
Mr. Boomsma was a resident of the Randolph area since 1973. He owned and operated a local dairy farm, and was formerly employed with Rockwell of Randolph. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in World War II, in Japan. He was a member of Courtland United Methodist Church, and a former member of the Randolph Kiwanis Club.
Survivors include five children, John Boomsma Jr., Blue Island, Ill, David (Donna) Boomsma, Montello, Ruth (Dan) Geiken, Matteson, Ill., Don (Lori) Boomsma, Ferndale, Wash., and Brenda (Doug) Wells, Randolph; six grandchildren; one sister, Anna (Paul) Alkema, Palos Heights, Ill.; one brother, Melvin (Pearl) Boomsma, Palos Heights, Ill.; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.

Mary Lou McPherson
Mary Lou McPherson, 71, of 408 Stone St., Beaver Dam, died on Thursday, Sept. 14, 2000, at Beaver Dam Community Hospital.
There will be no funeral service.
Mrs. McPherson was born on Dec. 7, 1928, in Madison, the daughter of Stanley and Lillian (Conforti) Kahne. She was married
on Sept. 5, 1947, to Gilbert McPherson in Chicago.
Mrs. McPherson was a resident of Beaver Dam for 10 years. She was employed by Dodge Reports in Chicago, retiring in 1990.
Survivors include one son, Glen (Darlene) McPherson, Green Oaks, Ill.; one daughter, Lynn (Sylvester) Sowinski, Carol Stream, Ill.; one granddaughter; relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by his parents; and her husband, Gilbert.
There will be no visitation.

Frieda L. Sandstrom
JUNEAU - Frieda L. Sandstrom, 88, formerly of Juneau, died on Friday, Sept. 15, 2000, at Clearview, Juneau.
The funeral will be held on Monday, Sept. 18, at 2 p.m., at St. Stephen's United Church of Christ, Juneau. The Rev. Carol Lange will officiate. Burial will be in Lowell cemetery.
Mrs. Sandstrom was born on Aug. 18, 1912, in Lomira, the daughter of Gustav and Augusta (Schultz) Urban. She was married
on May 7, 1938, to Richard Sandstrom in Lowell.
Mrs. Sandstrom was a lifelong resident of the Juneau and Reeseville area. She owned and operated R & F grocery store in Oak Grove for 10 years and worked at Clearview as a nurses aid for several years. She was a member of St. Stephen's United Church of Christ, Juneau, and a member of the Senior Citizens Club of Juneau and Clyman.
Survivors include one son, Melvin Sandstrom, Fond du Lac; one daughter, Belva (Lawrence) Rupnow, Juneau; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two brothers, Daniel Urban, Juneau, and William (Meta) Urban, Watertown; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Richard, in 1988; one son, Calvin Sandstrom; three sisters, Katherine, Selma, and Josephine; five brothers, Albert, Walter, Roland, Fritz, and Gustav.

Pearl E. Virnoche
Pearl E. Virnoche, 75, of 906 S. Lincoln Ave., Apt. D2, Beaver Dam, formerly of 1014 MacArthur Drive, Beaver Dam, died on Thursday, Sept. 14, 2000, at her home.
The funeral will be held on Sunday, Sept. 17, at 5 p.m., at the Koepsell Funeral Home, Beaver Dam. The Rev. Charles Scheuerell will officiate. Burial will be held Monday, Sept. 18, at 11 a.m., at the Forest View cemetery, Two Rivers.
Mrs. Virnoche was born on Oct. 5, 1924, in England, the daughter of Alfred and Margaret Townsend. She was married
on Feb. 19, 1944, to Wilton "Willie" Virnoche in England.
Mrs. Virnoche was employed as the store manager at the Hallmark Card Shop in downtown Beaver Dam for many years.
Survivors include one son, Wayne Virnoche, Stockton, Calif.; one daughter, Sandy Owens, Dickeyville; two brothers, Geoffrey (Elsie) Townsend, and Kenneth (Marjorie) Townsend, both of England; one sister, Maude Page, England; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Willie, in 1998; and one sister.
Friends may call on Sunday, Sept. 17, from 3 to 5 p.m., at the Koepsell Funeral Home, Beaver Dam.

Karen N. Peay
Karen N. Peay, 60, died on Saturday, Sept. 16, 2000.
Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 19, at 11 a.m., at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 4419 S. Howell Ave., Milwaukee.
Survivors include her husband, Gerold Peay Sr.; two sons, Michael (Ann) Biley, and Jim (Helen) Biley; two daughters, Lisa (Douglas) Krekling, and Camilla (fiance, Sean Sayrs) Bloomfield; five grandchildren, Nicole, Ben, Hilary, Erika and Connor; her parents, Carla (Nehls) Kaepernick; two brothers, Ken (Kathy) Kaepernick, and Charles (Mary) Kaepernick; one sister, Kathryn Titus; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Merlin H. Koehn
Merlin H. Koehn, 86, of 306 Mary St., Beaver Dam, died on Friday, Sept. 15, 2000, at Beaver Dam Community Hospital.
Private family services will be held at the Koepsell Funeral Home, Beaver Dam. The Rev. Gus Kasten will officiate. Burial will be in Hillside cemetery, Columbus.
Mr. Koehn was born on June 18, 1914, the son of Gustav and Minnie Koehn. He was married
on Aug. 22, 1942, to Grace E. Allen in Columbus.
Mr. Koehn was employed at Monarch Range, Beaver Dam, for 42 years, retiring in 1981. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a medic, during which time, he rode the Queen Mary and the Maripossa.
Survivors include his wife, Grace E. Koehn, Beaver Dam; two daughters, Donna (Richard) Woock, Beloit, and Sherry (Lance) Bump, Baraboo; one brother, Ervin (Arlene) Koehn, Green Lake; five grandchildren; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by one sister; three brothers; and one son-in-law, Albert.
There will be no visitation.

Ervin F. Mann
COLUMBUS - Ervin F. Mann, 77, of 713 N. Dickason Blvd., Columbus, died on Sunday, Sept. 17, 2000, at his home.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, Sept. 21, at 11:30 a.m., at the Zeidler Funeral Home, Columbus. The Rev. Bruce Hennington will officiate. Burial will be in Hillside cemetery, Columbus.
Mr. Mann was born on Jan. 29, 1923, in Columbus, the son of Frank and Esther (Heiden) Mann. He was married
on June 28, 1952, to Viola Tiedt.
Mr. Mann worked for the former Ford, Gunderson, Meister garages in Columbus. He owned and operated Mann's Garage, Columbus, for 25 years.
Survivors include his wife, Viola Mann, Columbus; three sons, Kenneth (Connie) Mann, Columbus, Daniel (Judith) Mann, Fall River, and Ronald (Alijeanne) Mann, Madison; one daughter, Sheila (Allen) Ebert, Fall River; four sisters, Mavis (Noel) Machiocote, Pine Vill, Mo., Pearl (Lynn) Hass, Sun Prairie, Elaine Branschweig, Golden, Mo., and Jeanette Parpart, Columbus; one brother, LaVern (Marge) Mann, Beaver Dam; seven grandchildren; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Darrell, on March 26, 1996; two brothers, Roger and Herbert; three sisters, Dorothy, Margaret and Genevieve; and one niece, Crystal.
