Jorge L. Tamez Sr.
Jorge L. Tamez Sr., 65, of West Bend, died Wednesday, Dec. 13, 2000 at his residence.
Born in Mexico City, Mexico to Rafael and Emma (Garcia) Tamez on Dec. 31, 1934, he married Lourdes Lavoignet on April 1, 1956 in Mexico City.
Born and raised in Mexico City, Jorge came to the United States in 1967, moving to West Bend in 1970.
He was employed at Amity Leather Products of West Bend for over seven years, later working for Level Valley Creamery for 17 years, retiring in 1999. He was currently working at Cedar Home Campus doing general maintenance.
He is survived by four children; Jorge (Kelly) Tamez Jr. of West Bend, Gerado (Cassy) Tamez of West Bend, Leticia Tamez and Jaciel Tamez, both of West Bend; nine grandchildren; one sister, Sara Tamez of Cuernavaca, Mexico and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and five brothers.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held at St. Mary’s Immaculate Conception Parish, West Bend, with Father Patrick Wendt officiating. Cremation took place at Parkview Cremetory in Fond du Lac, with interment of ashes at St. Mary’s Cemetery, West Bend.
Memorials are appreciated to the American Diabetes Association.

Barbara A. "Barb" Arnold
Barbara A. "Barb" Arnold, nee Tasch) 54, of West Bend, died on Friday, Dec. 15, 2000 at her residence.
Born to Elwin (Lillian Parsons) Tasch in Chilton, she married David M. Arnold on Aug. 17, 1968 in Jericho, Wis.
Born and raised in Chilton, she was a physical education teacher for St. Kilian’s Catholic School of Hartford for over 12 years.
She is survived by her husband; her parents; two daughters, Amy Arnold of West Bend and Sarah (fiance Peter Winkler) Arnold of Cudahy; very dear friends, Tom Erickson of West Bend, Renee Leiknes of West Bend and her four children, Katie, Brett, Trent and Clarice; one sister, Mary (Terry) Zeller of Brillion, Wis.; five brothers; Michael (Barb) Tasch of Johnsburg, Wis., Kenny Tasch of Chilton, Steve (Diane) Tasch of Malone, Wis., Nick (Dorothy) Tasch of Chilton and Tim (Linda Tasch) of Chilton. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph Tasch.
A member of St. Francis Cabrini Church of West Bend, a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the church on Tuesday, Dec. 19 at 7 p.m., officiated by Father Jeffrey Haines.
Interment of ashes will take place at Parkview Crematory, Fond du Lac with subsequent burial at Holy Angels Cemetery on Thursday, Dec. 21 at 10 a.m. Visitation at St. Frances Cabrini only from 4-7 p.m.
Memorials are appreciated to St. Kilian’s School.

Ruth M. Weyer
Funeral services will be held today at St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church, Cedarburg, for Ruth M. Weyer, 79, of Cedarburg, who died Dec. 14, 2000 at St. Mary’s Hospital Ozaukee.
Visitation will be at the church from 9:30 a.m., with services to follow at 11 a.m. Interment will be at the church cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by Mueller Funeral Home, Cedarburg.
Mrs. Weyer was born in Menomonee Falls on April 23, 1921, the daughter of the late Leonard and Agnes (nee Wick) Senger.
She married F. William "Bill" Weyer on Feb. 6, 1943 in Grafton.
Survivors include her husband Bill Weyer of Cedarburg; daughter Joyce Weyer of Sierra Vista, Ariz.; son Robert (Pam) Weyer of Marshall, Mich.; grandchildren Matthew, Jennifer, Allen and Andrew; great-grandchildren Cayla and Cali; brothers Donald (Gladys) Senger of Cedarburg and James (Dorothy) Senger of Port Washington; sister Bernice Wood of Arvada, Colo.; other relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church would be appreciated.
Samuel Thomas Shaver
Samuel Thomas Shaver, infant son of Thomas and Sara Shaver, died Dec. 14, 2000 at Divine Savior Hospital in Portage.
Funeral services were held Saturday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Portage, with Father Donn Heiar officiating. Burial was at the church cemetery. Arrangements were handled by the Pflanz Mantey Mendrala Funeral Homes, Portage.
Survivors include his parents; paternal grandfather Wally O. Shaver of Fond du Lac; paternal great-grandmother Marguerite Streeter of Fond du Lac; maternal grandparents Robert and Marcia Huber of Cedarburg; aunts and uncles Ken and Rosemary Persons of Rochester, Minn., John and Ann Wirth of Mequon, Glenn and Kristine Huber of Grafton and Brian Shaver of Fond du Lac.
He was preceded in death by grandmother Janet Shaver; great-grandparents Ernest and Ann Huber and Theophil and Lucille Wienczewski.
William Arthur Pagel Sr.
A funeral service was held yesterday at Mueller Funeral Home in Grafton for William Arthur Pagel Sr., 85, of Grafton, who died on Dec. 12, 2000. Rev. Franz Rigert officiated at the ceremony and Mueller Funeral Home, Grafton assisted the family with arrangements. Burial was held at Pinelawn Memorial Park in Milwaukee.
Mr. Pagel was born Sept. 18, 1915 in Milwaukee, son of William and Ida (nee Wilde) Pagel. He married Irene Betz on Sept. 27, 1941 in Milwaukee. He served in the U.S. Army. He attended Pilgrim United Church of Christ and was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose and the Golden Tones.
Survivors include: daughter Barbara (Scott) Orten of Grafton; sons Gerald (Bonita) Orten of Grafton, William (Betty) Pagel Jr. of Panama; sisters-in-law Lorraine Pagel of Grafton, Josephine Landfried of Milwaukee and special friend Mary Zach of Grafton.
Further survived by 9 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
His wife Irene, brothers Milton and Robert and sisters Esther Schwalbe and Alice Paige preceded him in death.
Memorials to the Pilgrim UCC are appreciated.
Marie L. Jaye
On Dec. 11, 2000, Marie L. Jaye (nee Soyka) passed away at the age of 86, just three weeks after her husband.
Mrs. Jaye was born March 15, 1914 in Milwaukee.
She graduated from Holy Angels Academy and worked at The Milwaukee Railroad. She married Tony Jaye in 1942 and helped him start an advertising business in the 1950s.
They moved to Cedarburg in 1959. She held the position of administrative secretary at Westlawn Elementary School until her retirement at age 70. She was awarded the School Bell Award.
Survivors include: daughter Susan (James) Reynolds of Jackson; son Timothy Jaye of Texas; grandchildren James (Sandy) of Madison and Jeff of Syracuse, N.Y.; sister Dorothy (Thomas) Benna of Ironwood, Mich.
Schramka-Densow Funeral Home, Thiensville, assisted the family with arrangements.
Conrad Jahn
Funeral services were held on Friday at First Immanuel Lutheran Church in Cedarburg for Conrad Jahn, 79, of Mequon, who died on Dec. 12, 2000. Burial was held at Zur Ruhe Cemetery in Cedarburg. Mueller Funeral Home of Cedarburg assisted the family.
Mr. Jahn was of German decent being born in Felsonana, Hungary on Aug. 3, 1921. He left his parents and sister at the age of 16 to live with an uncle in Lombard, Ill.
He is a World War II veteran having served from 1942-1946. Mr. Jahn married Anna Koch on July 27, 1946.
He was reunited with his parents in 1948 and his sister in 1961.
Mr. Jahn was a 40-year employee of A.O. Smith Corporation. He was a longtime member of First Immanuel Lutheran Church in Cedarburg where he was active in the Senior Choir for many years.
Survivors include: wife Anna (nee Koch) Jahn of Mequon; children: Conrad (Karla) Jahn of Milwaukee, Ronald (Diane) Jahn of Cedarburg, Diana (Steve) Tetzlaff of Grafton, and Robert Jahn of Saukville; sister Katherine (Henry) Koch of Menomonee Falls; nephews Henry and Conrad Koch of Menomonee Falls.
Further survived by 10 grandchildren other relatives and friends.
Norman F. Radloff
Norman F. Radloff, 69, of West Bend, died Thursday, Dec. 14, 2000, at his residence.
He was born July 5, 1931, in Mt. Morris, to the late Ervin and Emma (nee Beebe) Radloff.
After high school Norman served in the Wisconsin National Guard from 1947 to 1950.
On Aug. 18, 1951, he married Leah Hotchkiss in Berlin, and they made West Bend their home.
Norman worked as a meat cutter for 20 years at Plout's Sentry Store and for 10 years at Prescott's Pick 'N Save, retiring in 1993.
Survivors include his wife; five children, Sandra Cross of Aloha, Ore., Valerie (Edward) Jacobson of Cedarburg, Larry Radloff of Rialto, Calif., Geoff (Laurel) Radloff and Peggy (Bill) Hueltner, both of West Bend; seven grandchildren, Kristan and Matthew Cross, Jim and Tim Jacobson, Corey Moser, Kaitlynn and Spencer Radloff; a sister, Irene Page of Omro; three sisters-in-law, Elaine (Richard) Heeg of Stevens Point, Ione (Jesse) Tomlinson of Plover and Becky Radloff of Sparta; two brothers-in-law, Clifford (Mary) Hotchkiss of Tomahawk and Herbert (Shirley) Hotchkiss of Plover.
Preceding him in death were a son, Danny; a sister, Olive Kaatz; and a brother, Ervin.
At Norman's request, there will be no visitation or memorial service.
Private family inurnment will be in Washington County Memorial Park with Rev. Dan Schwerin of Still Waters Community United Methodist Church, Jackson, officiating.

Irene Kurth
Irene Kurth, nee Sachse, 90, of Mapledale Manor in Kewaskum, died Friday, Dec. 15, 2000, at her residence.
She was born Sept. 29, 1919, in Mequon, to the late Henry and Louise (nee Schoessow) Sachse, and married Wilbert Kurth on Jan. 25, 1936, in Cedarburg.
Her husband passed away on Nov. 8, 1990.
She was a member of David's Star Ev. Lutheran Church, Jackson and the David's Star Ladies Aid.
Survivors include five children, LaNore (Herbert) Klumb of New London, Phyllis Ermer of Kewaskum, Orville (Betty) Kurth of Waukesha, Roger (Sharon) Kurth of East Troy and Karen (Paul) Jacobs of Tomah; 11 grandchildren, Greg Klumb, Sara (Keith) Moore, Kim (Todd) Fink, Tim Kurth, Jeremy Kurth, Jessica Kurth, Joelle Kurth, Troy Jacobs, Ryan Jacobs, Trevor Jacobs and Stacey Jacobs; a great-grandson, Kyle Fink; a sister, Lydia Volk of Maitland, Fla.; other relatives and friends.
Preceding her in death were a son, Marvin Kurth; a son-in-law, Bernie Ermer; sisters; brothers; sisters-in-law; and brothers-in-law.
Funeral services were held Monday, Dec. 18, at 10 a.m. at David's Star Ev. Lutheran Church, Jackson.
Rev. Martin Janke and Rev. Michael Woldt officiated and burial was in David's Star Cemetery.
Visitation was at the Myrhum-Patten Funeral Home, West Bend.
