Margaret Simon
Margaret Simon, 81, of Kewaskum, passed away on Saturday, Dec. 9, 2000, at Cedar Lake Health Care Center, West Bend.
She was born June 16, 1919, in Campbellsport, to the late Frank and Josephine (Brill) Bach, and on May 6, 1944, married Claver Simon at St. Martin's Catholic Church in the town of Ashford. He passed away on Sept. 18, 1977.
Mrs. Simon was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Kewaskum.
Survivors include three sons, Joseph Simon of Kewaskum, Tony (Barbara) Simon of Milwaukee and James (Cindy) Simon of Port Washington; five daughters, Bernadette (Robert) Thorn of Kewaskum, Kathleen (Ronald) Yogerst and Mary McWilliams, both of West Bend, Carol (Jeff) Daly of Fond du Lac and Sherry (Ken) Taylor of Kewaskum; two brothers, Tony Bach of Pennsylvania and William Bach of Mayville; a stepsister, Marian (Jerry) Burger of Brownsville; 14 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
Preceding her in death were three brothers.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 12, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Kewaskum.
Father Mark Jones will officiate, and burial will be at 10 a.m. on Wednesday in the parish cemetery.
Friends may call at the church on Tuesday from 4 p.m. until the time of services.
The Miller Funeral Home, Kewaskum, is serving the family.
Frederick E. Klein
Frederick E. Klein, 84, of Kewaskum, passed away on Friday, Dec. 8, 2000, at Mapledale Manor in Kewaskum.
He was born July 29, 1916, in the town of Kewaskum, to the late Fred and Ida (Seefeld) Klein, and on May 10, 1941, married Floreda Hintz at United Church of Christ, Campbellsport.
His wife passed away on Aug. 21, 1990.
Mr. Klein was a lifelong member of St. Lucas Evangelical Lutheran Church, Kewaskum, a member of the XYZ Club of Kewaskum and was affiliated with AMPI for 35 years.
Survivors include two children, Jerome (Darlene) Klein of Winona, Minn. and Sharon (Richard) Kuehl of Kewaskum; two grandchildren, Dinita (Daniel) Bruemmer of West Salem and Jamie (Julie) Klein of St. Mary's, Ga.; three great-gandsons, Michael, Nathan and Caleb Bruemmer; other relatives and many friends.
Preceding him in death was a sister, Sylvia Schultz.
Funeral services will be held at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 12, at St. Lucas Evangelical Lutheran Church, Kewaskum.
Rev. Edwin Fredrich will officiate, and burial will be at 10 a.m. on Wednesday in Lutheran Memorial Park, Kewaskum.
Friends may call at the church on Tuesday from 3 p.m. until the time of services.
Memorials to St. Lucas Lutheran Church Remodeling Fund are appreciated.

Marie M. Henke
Marie M. Henke, nee Plier, 79, of West Bend, died Friday, Dec. 8, 2000, at her residence.
She was born Dec. 14, 1920, in Sheboygan County, to the late John and Elizabeth (Reis) Plier, and married Walter F. Henke on May 7, 1938, at St. Cecelia Church, Thiensville.
Her husband passed away in 1970.
Marie was a very kind person, who was loved by all and will be dearly missed.
She was the world's greatest cook. She always had time to give her companionship and love to all.
Her voice, when she sang, was a beautiful reminder of what a wonderful person she was.
She was a member of St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church of West Bend.
She was the dear mother of Janice (Ed) Dietrich of Grafton, Ron (Pat) Henke of Cedarburg, Roger (Marlene) Henke of Colgate, Kathy (Jim) Gardipee and Marilyn (Jim) Bria, both of West Bend.
Also surviving are grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends. A special companion was "Moon," the family dog.
Preceding her in death were a sister and a brother.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Dec. 12, at 11 a.m. at The Phillip Funeral Home, West Bend.
Father Jeffrey Haines will officiate, and interment will follow in Resurrection Catholic Cemetery of Mequon.
Visitation at the funeral home will be Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of services.
Memorials are appreciated to the Journey House Learning Center, 1900 W. Washington St., Milwaukee.
David J. Conway
David J. Conway, 90, of Slinger, formerly of Milwaukee, died Saturday, Dec. 12, 2000, at the Hartford Care Center, Hartford.
He was born April 14, 1910, in Milwaukee, to the late Michael and Mathilda (Lux) Conway, and married Bertha A. Walz at St. Mathew's Lutheran Church, Milwaukee.
He served with the U.S. Navy during World War II, and worked for Pabst Brewery for over 24 years as a carpenter, retiring in 1973.
David became a locksmith after retirement, as a hobby.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Bonnie (Mark) Monroe of Slinger; two grandsons, Mark II and Matthew; a granddaughter, Jena Michelle; a sister, June (Everette) Taylor of Grafton; two sisters-in-law, Emma Niesl of Milwaukee and Viola Manning of Jacksonville, Fla.; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
Preceding him in death were three sisters and a brother.
He was a member of the Pabst American Legion Post of Milwaukee, N.C.O.A. of Port Richie, Fla., the VFW Post 3358 of Slinger, the Hartford #120 F&AM Masonic Lodge and St. Luke's Lutheran Church of Slinger.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Dec. 12, at 5 p.m. at St. Luke's Lutheran Church, Slinger.
Pastor Alan Lindberg will officiate, and cremation will take place at Parkview Cremations of Fond du Lac with interment of ashes at Valhalla at a later date.
Visitation at the church only will be Tuesday from 3 p.m. until the time of services.
Memorials are appreciated to St. Luke's Lutheran Church.

Robert H. Claus
Robert H. Claus, 77, of West Bend, died Friday, Nov. 24, 2000, at St. Joseph's Community Hospital. Bob had courageously battled multiple health problems for 10 years.
He was born n West Bend on July 27, 1923, to the late Oswald "O.C." and Hildegarde (nee Braun) Claus, and was united in marriage to Gayle Reuterdahl at Hennepin Avenue Methodist Church in Minneapolis, Minn. on Sept. 24, 1948.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Richard J. Claus II of Eau Claire and David (Gloria) Claus of North Fond du Lac; two grandchildren, Matthew Robert Claus and Kathryn Gayle Claus, both of North Fond du Lac; a sister, Ruth (Dr. John) Morrissey of Bend, Ore.; two brothers, Richard J. (Lois) Claus of Mt. Dora, Fla. and Roger W. (Mary) Claus of New Berlin; an aunt, Meta Chase of West Bend; other relatives and friends.
Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 12, at 12:30 p.m. at the Myrhum-Patten Funeral Home, West Bend.
Co-officiating will be Pastors Rollin Wilson of Eau Claire, Mike Keshan and Dean Oldson.
Following the memorial service the family will greet relatives and friends at the West Bend Country Club.
Private graveside services were held on Nov. 30 at Washington County Memorial Park.
It was Bob's wish that any memorials friends may wish to make in his memory, be directed to the Bob Claus Memorial Scholarship Fund at the Kettle Moraine YMCA or to the Kettle Moraine Bible Church.
Erna M. Pape
Funeral services were held on Friday at Mueller Funeral Home, Cedarburg, for Erna M. Pape, 74, of Cedarburg, who died on Dec. 5, 2000. Interment was at Graceland Cemetery in Milwaukee. Mueller Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
Mrs. Pape was born on Dec. 16, 1925 in Oconto Falls, the daughter of the late Michal and Wanda (nee Ziegenhagen) Schafrik. She married the late Harold E. Pape on Aug. 2, 1947 in Milwaukee. She was a member of First Immanuel Lutheran Church, Cedarburg and also the Cedarburg Senior Citizen’s group.
Survivors include: children Gail (Paul) Olson of Cedarburg, Gary (Nancy) Pape of Jackson; grandchildren: Kimberley Pape of La Crosse and Kristin Pape of Jackson; sisters: Elsie (Lloyd) Glebe of New Lisbon, Dorthea (Clarence) Jaeger of Gillett; brothers: Clarence (Irene) Schafrik of Fond du Lac and Alvin Schafrik of Oconto Falls.
Further survived by nieces, nephew, other relatives and friends.
Edna Wetzel Nicolaus
A funeral service was held on Dec. 3 at Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church in Mequon for Edna Wetzel Nicolaus of Mequon, 89, who died on Nov. 30, 2000. Interment followed the service at Trinity Ev. Lutheran Cemetery. Church and Chapel Funeral Service assisted the family with arrangements.
Mrs. Nicolaus was born June 9, 1911 in Mequon, daughter of Henry and Ella (nee Schreiber) Stern. She married Gerhard Wetzel on Aug. 6, 1933. He died on June 12, 1960. She married Paul Nicolaus on June 12, 1976. He passed away on July 28, 1993.
Survivors include: children Gerhard Jr. (Lorraine) Wetzel, Mildred Smith, Ruth (Donald) Klumb, Raymond (Shirley) Wetzel, Roy (Jeany) Wetzel, Elmer (Charlene) Wetzel.
Further survived by grandchildren, great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
