Rosella M. Klein, 87
Rosella M. Klein, 87, of West Bend passed away on Saturday, Dec. 11, 1999 at the Samaritan Health Center in West Bend.
She was born Dec. 3, 1912 in the town of Scott, the daughter of the late Charles and Amelia (Kuhn) Trapp.
Klein was a member of Peace United Church of Christ in Kewaskum and was employed at Regal Ware from July 9, 1950 until Oct. 1, 1975.
She was a beloved mother. She was proud to be the 100th member inducted into the Regal Ware Inc.’s 25-Year Club and a 25-year pin recipient from the Ladies Auxiliary from West Bend V.F.W. #1393. She took pride in having traveled to all states except Alaska.
She enjoyed the Samaritan Health Center and had recently asked her son to thank all those personnel who were so kind to her during her stay.
Survivors include her son, Harold (Susan) Klein of Dallas; two grandchildren, Christine Michelle Klein and Charles Allen Klein, both of Dallas; other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by five brothers, Arthur, Richard, Marvin, William and Charles Trapp; and two sisters, Frieda Branchini and Alma Hintz.
Funeral services will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday at the Miller Funeral Home in Kewaskum with Rev. Eric Kirkegaard officiating. Interment for the immediate family will be Saturday at Beechwood Union Cemetery.
Friends may call from 3-7 p.m. at the funeral home on Thursday.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Peace United Church of Christ, the American Heart Association or the charity of one’s choice.
Robert J. Kernler, 71
Robert J. Kernler, 71, of West Bend, died Tuesday, Nov. 30, 1999, at St. Luke's Medical Center, Milwaukee.
He was born April 3, 1928, in Glidden, to the late Tony and Florice (Akins) Kernler, and married Roberta J. Majewski on Jan. 29, 1955, in Ashland.
He served with the U.S. Air Force, receiving a World War II Victory Medal in March of 1946, and was a member of the VFW Post 1393 of West Bend.
Robert worked at the Falk Corp. until retiring in 1986.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Robin (Rick) Brown and Rhonda (Michael) Sybeldon; a son, Robert J. Jr.; five grandchildren, Renee, Nicolette, Sami Jo, Byron and Julianne; a great-grandson, Shawn; a brother, E. Donald (Joyce); two nephews, Donald and Daniel; other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be Sunday, Dec. 5, at 2 p.m. at Fifth Avenue United Methodist Church, West Bend, with Pastor William Dushek officiating.
Visitation at the church only will be Sunday from 1 p.m. until the time of services.

Harvey T. Otto, 73
Harvey T. Otto, 73, of Kewaskum, passed away on Monday, Dec. 20, 1999, at the Samaritan Health Center, West Bend.
He was born Oct. 7, 1926, in West Bend, to the late Timothy and Frieda (nee Schmidt) Otto, and on May 17, 1997, married Gloria Hedges at the Samaritan Health Center where the couple made their home.
Mr. Otto was a member of St. Lucas Evangelical Lutheran Church, Kewaskum, and served his country in the U.S. Air Force during World War II.
Survivors include his wife; two sisters, Shirley Stern and Betty Marialke, both of Kewaskum; a stepson, James (Cathy) Hedges of Hartford; two step-granddaughters, Gina and Jennifer Hedges; several nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 23, at the Samaritan Health Center. Rev. Timothy Henning will officiate, and burial will be in Lutheran Memorial Park, Kewaskum.
Friends may call at the Samaritan Health Center only on Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services.

Rose R. Beyer, 85
Rose R. Beyer of West Bend died on Saturday, Sept. 25, 1999, at St. Mary’s Hospital, Ozaukee, at the age of 85.
She was born Sept. 28, 1913, in Milwaukee to the late William and Elizabeth (nee Radichel), and married Victor P. Beyer on Aug. 22, 1936, in Milwaukee.
She was employed as a bakery manager at Kohl’s Food Store in Fox Point until retiring in 1974.
Following her husband’s death on March 12, 1985, she moved to the West Bend area.
Rose was a person who had a smile for everyone she met. Her warm personality and friendly approach are traits she will be remembered for. Rose’s family was the center of her life.
Survivors include two children, Diane (John) Herlinger of West Bend and Kathleen (Tary) Kirsch of Cedarburg; four grandchildren, Christopher (Laure) Herlinger of Saukville, Mark (Kathleen) of Milwaukee, James (LeAnne) Kirsch of Lisle, Ill. and Matthew Kirsch of Tempe, Ariz.; four great-grandchildren; a sister, Marion Schumacher of Antigo; her beloved Pekingese dog, Blondie; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
Preceding her in death were a grandchild and five brothers and sisters.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, Sept. 29 at 10 a.m. at Holy Trinity Church, Newburg. Fr. Robert Sampon will be the presider, and burial will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, Milwaukee.
Visitation at the Schmidt Funeral Home, West Bend, will be Tuesday from 4 p.m. until a prayer vigil at 6:30 p.m. There will be no visitation Wednesday morning.

Edward T. Beck, 91
Edward T. Beck, 91, of the town of Farmington, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 19, 1999, at Community Memorial Hospital, Menomonee Falls.
He was born Jan. 25, 1908, in the town of Grafton, to the late Alexander and Emma (nee Sudbrink) Beck, and on Oct. 1, 1932, married Helen Sagert at Hope Lutheran Church, Milwaukee.
Mr. beck had been a member of St. Lucas Evangelical Lutheran Church, Kewaskum, since 1943.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, Eugene of Soldier, Kan., Arthur (Mary Ann) of Denver, Colo. and Edward of Waukesha; two daughters, Marjorie Schieble of Cleveland and Esther Beck of Denver, Colo.; four grandchildren, Kimberly (Mike) Gibson, Scott Schieble, Dan Schieble and Diana (Robert) Thompson; two great-grandchildren, Kayla Gibson and Ryan Schieble; other relatives and friends.
Preceding him in death were four brothers, Arnold, Alexander, Phillip and Walter.
Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 23, at St. Lucas Evangelical Lutheran Church, Kewaskum. Rev. Edwin Fredrich will officiate, and burial will be at 11 a.m. on Friday in Lutheran Memorial Park, Kewaskum.
Visitation at the church only will be Thursday from 4 p.m. until the time of services.

Lois Tucek, 64
Lois Tucek, nee Lecher, of West Bend, died Tuesday, Sept. 28, 1999, at her residence, at the age of 64.
She was born Aug. 6, 1935, in Milwaukee, to the late Elmer and Laura (nee Poetzel) Lecher, and married Duane "Budman" Tucek on Jan. 22, 1952, in Milwaukee.
They settled in Milwaukee until moving to the West Bend area in 1967.
Lois had many interests including bowling, bingo, dancing, golf, rock 'n roll, crocheting and sewing. She also collected eagles and Elvis Presley items.
Lois was a member of the W.I.B.A., the 600 Club of West Bend, and a former member of the West Bend Lions Club.
Survivors include her husband; five children, Tom (Lora) and Tim (fiancee Pam Wehrman), both of Cable, Terry (Robert) Peil and Cindy Tucek (friend Mark Biertzer), both of West Bend, and Chris Verbanac of Jackson; 12 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a sister, June Unger of Slinger; two brothers-in-law; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
Preceding her in death were a sister, Shirley Herbst, and a brother-in-law, Bill Unger.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, Sept. 30, at 8 p.m. at the Schmidt Funeral Home, West Bend, with Fr. Gerald Brittain officiating. Burial will be Friday at 10 a.m. in Washington County Memorial Park, West Bend.
Visitation at the funeral home will be Thursday from 6 p.m. until the time of services.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
Nelson B. Schultz, 73
Nelson Benjamin Schultz, 73, of Briggsville, formerly of Jackson, died Sunday, Nov. 7, 1999, at Divine Savior Hospital, Portage.
He was born May 23, 1926, in Milwaukee, to the late Emil and Freida (nee Scharf) Schultz.
He served in the U.S. Navy and was a member of the Jackson VFW Post 7240.
Nelson was a talented bricklayer and a member of Mason Local No. 8. He was also very generous with his talent and helped many people.
On Sept. 20, 1978, he married Eulah Brown.
Survivors include his wife; five daughters, Bonnie (Bob) Kott of Sun Prairie, Jeanine (Terry) Larvick of Fredonia, Linda Schultz of Milwaukee, Rochelle (Charles) Zodrow of Colgate and Debora (Rudy) Vorwerk of West Bend; 15 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother, Harvey (Waynet) of Germantown; a sister, Ella "Babe" (Jules) Beghin of Briggsville; a friend, Jim Leider of Fredonia; three stepchildren, Kendall (Diane) Brown of Milwaukee, Donna (Bill) Miller of Mauston and Curtis (Sandi) Brown of Menomonee Falls; a sister-in-law, Alberta Schultz of Briggsville; and other relatives and friends.
Preceding him in death were a brother, Ehernfried "Ginny" Schultz and a step-granddaughter, Kari Ann Brown.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Nov. 9, at 7 p.m. from Christ Lutheran Church, Jackson. Rev. Bill Gruenstein will officiate, and burial will be Thursday at 10:30 a.m. in Christ Lutheran Cemetery, Jackson.
Visitation at the church only will be Wednesday from 4 p.m. until the time of services.
Memorials can be made to Hospice or to Christ Lutheran Church, Jackson.
