Bernice E. Schickert, 81
Bernice E. Schickert, nee Theisen, of West Bend, died Friday, Dec. 24, 1999, at St. Joseph's Community Hospital, West Bend, at the age of 81.
She was born July 28, 1918, in St. Michaels to the late Math and Mary (nee Bingen) Theisen, and married George M. Schickert on Nov. 21, 1940, at St. Michael's Church.
After their marriage they settled in West Bend where she worked for The West Bend Co. for many years.
She was a member of The West Bend Co. Retirement Group, The West Bend Co. 25-Year Club, the Legion of Mary at Holy Angels Church in West Bend and the Christian Woman Society at Holy Angels Church.
Survivors include her husband; three children, Joan Schickert of Richfield, Minn., Bill (Ann) of Silver Spring, Md. and Jim (Dee) of Plover; six grandchildren; a great-grandson; a sister, Lucille Petri of West Bend; a brother, Alfonse (Mildred) of St. Michaels; two sisters-in-law, Mildred Theisen of Kewaskum and Clara Theisen of West Bend; nieces; nephews; and other relatives and friends.
Preceding her in death were three brothers and three sisters.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Dec. 28, at 10 a.m. at the Schmidt Funeral Home, West Bend, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Angels Church. Fr. Jerome Repenshek will be the presider, and burial will follow in Holy Angels Cemetery.
Visitation at the funeral home will be Monday from 4 to 8:30 p.m. with a prayer vigil at 7:30 p.m., and also Tuesday until the time of the services.
Robert E. Davis
Robert E. Davis, 88, of West Bend died Saturday, Sept. 11, 1999, at St. Joseph's Community Hospital.
He was born Sept. 4, 1911, in Mauston, to the late Robert and Lonnie (nee Scharfenberg) Davis, and married Loraine Netzow on Oct. 24, 1942, in Wauwatosa.
Robert was employed at the Standard Oil Company warehouse in Milwaukee for many years, retiring in 1976.
The couple moved to Cedar Ridge in West Bend from Wauwatosa in 1989.
His wife passed away Nov. 21, 1993.
Robert was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ, Kohlsville.
Survivors include a son, Robert G. (Ann) of Grafton; a grandson, Bryan N. Davis of Madison; three sisters, Irene (Dave) MacPherson of Shedd, Ore., and Jean Radtke and Alma Davis, both of Corvalis, Ore.; a niece, Joyce (James) Scheer of Hubertus; a nephew, Dr. Thomas (Carol) Gibson of Great Falls, Va.; other relatives and friends.
Preceding him in death were two brothers, Howard and Bernard, and a sister, Helen Edmanson.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, Sept. 17, at 1:30 p.m. at the Myrhum-Patten Funeral Home, West Bend. Rev. Curtis Schowalter of St. John's UCC, Kohlsville, will officiate, and inurmnent will be in Graceland Cemetery, Milwaukee.
The family will greet visitors at the funeral home on Friday from 12:30 p.m. until the time of services.

Fern E. Stokes
Fern E. Stokes, nee Johnson, 97, of West Bend, died Monday, Sept. 13, 1999, at St. Joseph's Community Hospital.
She was born March 24, 1902, in Shenandoah, Iowa, to the late Charles and Ella (nee Boyd) Johnson, and married Alfred E. Stokes on March 2, 1946, in Port Byron, Ill.
Following their marriage, the couple lived in Moline, Ill.
Fern was a school teacher and later was employed as an auditor for the Sears and Roebuck Corp., retiring in 1967. She moved to the West Bend area in 1981.
Her husband passed away Dec. 31, 1974.
Survivors include a daughter, Nona Neese of West Bend; two grandchildren, Holly Cable of Port Washington and George "Tony" Trinka of Newburg; nine great-grandchildren, Steven Cable (Vicki Bruckner), Richard (Marie) Cable, Dawn Cable, Kimberly Cable (Ron Phippen), Kelly (Scott) Dyrcz, James Cable, Loretta (Patrick) Beko, Nona Dee Julian and George Trinka Jr.; nine great-great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Carol Johnson of Fremont, Neb.; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
Preceding her in death were an infant daughter, Ella Lee Watson; two sisters, Nellie Evans and Maye Baugh; and two brothers, Merle and Cecil Johnson.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, Sept. 16, at 3 p.m. at the Phillip Funeral Home, West bend. Inurnment will be in Washington County Memorial Park, West Bend, at a later date.
Visitation at the funeral home will be Thursday from 1 p.m. until the time of services.

W. Thomas Francis, 87
He was born April 14, 1912, in Newark, Ohio, to the Willard Thomas and Gertrude (Weber) Francis, and married helen Leanna Roth on Aug. 30, 1936, in Gibson City.W. Thomas Francis, 87, of Bloomington, Ill., formerly of Gibson City, Ill., died Sunday, Dec. 26, 1999, at St. Joseph Medical Center, Bloomington.
He was born April 14, 1912, in Newark, Ohio, to the late Willard Thomas and Gertrude (Weber) Francis, and married Helen Leanna Roth on Aug. 30, 1936, in Gibson City.
Mr. Francis grew up in Ohio and attended Bluffton College in Bluffton, Ohio, receiving a BA in business. He moved to Gibson City in January, 1936.
He was president and principal owner of Corn Belt Hatcheries of Illinois Inc. and Corn Belt Mills, both in Gibson City. He retired in 1978.
Mr. Francis was instrumental in organizing the student loan fund; helped organize the Gibson Community Chest; was chairman of the Moyer Library Building Committee and president and board member for many years, was a board member and past president of the Lincoln Trails Library Board, was a member for many years and past president of the Lions Club, a Gibson Community Hospital Board member for many years (vice president and president from 1970-'82), in 1988 was appointed emeritus director for life, and was chairman of the fund drive for the Gibson Community Hospital Annex.
Mr. Francis served many years in the Presbyterian Church where he was an elder for nine years, was a Sunday School teacher, superintendent of the Sunday School, was a Stephen minister, and past member of ministerial relations committee of the Bloomington Presbytery.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Willard Thomas Francis of West Bend; a daughter, Jan Noble of Bloomington; four granddaughters, Susan Noble, Christine Noble, Hilary Meese and Holly Francis; two great-granddaughters, Kaylee Janiece and Haley Ann, and other relatives and friends.
Preceding him in death were a sister and a niece.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, Dec. 29 at 11 a.m. at The First Presbyterian Church, Gibson City. Rev. Kathleen Reichmann will officiate, and private burial will be in Drummer Township Cemetery, Gibson City.
Visitation at the Lamb Funeral Home, 303 N. Church St., Gibson City, will be Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m.

Robert J. Kleinvehn, 77
Funeral services will be held this evening at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Grafton, for Grafton resident Robert J. Kleinvehn, 77, who died Nov. 18, 1999 at St. Mary Hospital Ozaukee.
Visitation will be at the church from 4 p.m., with the funeral Mass to be held at 7 p.m., with Father Mike Barrett officiating. Burial will be at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Grafton. Arrangements are being handled by Mueller Funeral Home, Grafton.
Mr. Kleinvehn was born in Waterford on Nov. 25, 1921, son of John and Hilda (nee Sodtke) Kleinvehn.
He married former Marie Kempken on June 1, 1953 in Racine. She preceded him in death.
Mr. Kleinvehn worked as a laborer at the Grafton Foundry, and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
Survivors include daughters Arleen (Richard) Anderson of Mequon, Loretta (James) Olszewski of Green Bay and Kathleen (Bob) Tumanic of Brookfield; son-in-law Harvey Lingle; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to his wife Marie, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Marlyn Lingle.
Leland ‘Rex’ Olderman
Leland "Rex" Olderman of Hartford died Tuesday, Nov. 9, 1999 at Columbia Hospital, Milwaukee, at the age of 68 years.
He was born on Dec. 14, 1930 in Oconto to the late Lebrecht and Grace (nee Pellow) Olderman.
He was a graduate and 50-year alumnus of Gillett High School and served in the U.S. Army in Korea. He married Anita Nehls on March 21, 1964 in Milwaukee, and was self-employed as a custom cabinetmaker, owning and operating Rex Cabinets, He also worked at P.J.’s Dental Lab.
He is survived by his wife, Anita; two sons, Donald (Elizabeth) of Green Bay, and Steve of Hartford; a granddaughter Phoebe Olderman of Green Bay; three sisters, Joyce (Arnold) Block of Gillett, Margaret Thomka of Kenosha and Yvonne (Harvey) Kirchenwitz of Pulaski; a sister-in-law, Mavis (Doug) Zimmerman of Lakewood, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Walter "Jack."
Funeral services were held Friday, Nov. 12 at 7 p.m. at the Myrhum-Patten Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Repenshek officiating. Burial was on Saturday at Washington County Memorial Park, West Bend. Visitation was at Myrhum-Patten Funeral Home on Friday from 5 p.m. until the time of services.
Louis A. DeLauche, 93
A memorial service will be held Sunday Nov. 28 at 2 p.m. at Schramka-Gunther Funeral Home, Cedarburg, for Louis A. DeLauche, 93, who died on Nov. 6, 1999. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home from 1 p.m. until time of service, and also after the service. Those who can attend the memorial service are asked to wear Mr. DeLauche’s favorite color, plaid. In lieu of a religious service, both humorous and serious stories will be shared.
Mr. DeLauche, son of Louis A. and Mary Ann (nee Stuart) DeLauche, was born in Trois Rivieres, Quebec, Canada on Jan. 8, 1906. He was raised in Canada by his maternal grandparents. He married Mary Knight of Waupaca on October 7, 1944 in Detroit, Mich.
During World War II, he served as a Sergeant Major in the Canadian Army Reserves Argyle and Sutherland Highlanders Regiment. After moving to Wisconsin with his family in 1948, he became a naturalized U.S. citizen in 1953.
Mr. DeLauche and his family moved to Cedarburg in 1957. He worked for many years as a tool and die maker, both in Canada and Wisconsin. In 1967, he retired from Power Products (now Leeson Electric) in Grafton, where he worked in Quality Control.
He was a Cub Scout and Boy Scout leader for many years. He was a founding member of the Cedarburg Pistol Club. He also formed the Cedarburg Olympic Junior Rifle Team, where he coached hundreds of boys and girls in gun safety and marksmanship. He was proud of developing a championship team and helping young people develop to their full potential. He also taught hunter safety to numerous adults and young people.
Survivors include: daughter, Jean of Milwaukee; son John (Joyce) of Beavercreek, Ohio; grandchildren Denise (Jon) Mullins of Jamestown, Ohio, Deborah DeLauche of Lexington, Ky., Sean DeLauche of Beavercreek, Ohio; great-grandchildren C. Austin and Emily Mullins; brother-in-law Page (Alice) Knight of Kinsale, Va.; sister-in-law Jean Knight Bailey of San Antonio, Texas; other relatives and many good friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary, in 1997.
Memorials in Mr. DeLauche’s name to the Cedarburg Boy Scouts, the U.S. Olympic Shooting Team, or other charitable organizations of the donor’s choice, will be appreciated.
