Irene Parnitzke
Mrs. Irene Parnitzke, age 79, of Center Street in Fredonia, passed away Wednesday evening at Columbia-St. Mary’s Ozaukee Campus in Mequon. Irene was born December 9, 1923 in Milwaukee, daughter of Arno and Ella Scharf Tippner. On September 30, 1961, she married
William Parnitzke in Milwaukee. Mrs, Parnitzke was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Fredonia and belonged to the Association for Developmental Disabilities. She is survived by her husband, William, of Fredonia, their son Albert of Port Washington, 1 sister, Viola Jankiewicz of Waubeka, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, August 2, 2003 2 PM at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Fredonia. Pastor Robert Zick will officiate. Burial will be in St. John’s Lutheran cemetery. The family will receive visitors Saturday form 12 noon until 2PM at the church. Memorials are suggested to Portal Industries or St. John’s Lutheran Church. MS. ELNORE O. STRAUSS
Ms. Elnore Strauss, formerly of the Village of Belgium, passed away peacefully at the New Perspectives Group Home, 3111 W. Mequon Rd, Mequon, where she had been a resident for the last 17 months. Ms. Strauss was born in the Town of Belgium on March 2, 1921, daughter of John and Agnes Schueller Strauss. Elnore went to work at Allen Edmonds Shoe Factory, and was employed there for more than 50 years. She was a lifelong member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Lake Church, and was very active in her faith, attending church nearly every day. She was a 50 year member of the Catholic Foresters, and also enjoyed traveling. Ms. Strauss is survived by 1 sister, Mrs. Rose Lallensack of Port Washington, 2 sisters-in-law, Mrs. Agnes Strauss of Cedar Grove and Mrs. Eleanore Strauss of Belgium. She is further survived by 36 nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by 7 brothers and 2 sisters. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 6PM on Tuesday, August 26, 2003 at St. Mary Catholic Church, Lake Church. Father James Vojtik will officiate. Interment will follow the next day in the parish cemetery. The family will receive visitors at the CHURCH Tuesday, August 26, 2003 from 4-6 PM. Memorials are suggested to St. Mary, Lake Church.
ADAM J. SCHRANK
Adam Schrank, age 25 years of 113 Prospect St., Kewaskum died Saturday, August 23, 2003 as the result of an accidental fall while vacationing at the family cottage in Montello, WI. He was born January 26, 1978 in Milwaukee, son of Andrew and Connie Mertin Schrank. He was a 1996 graduate of Ozaukee High School in Fredonia and was employed as a manager of McDonald’s Restaurant in Kewaskum. On July 28, 2001 he married
Bridget Giese in Kewaskum. He enjoyed playing basketball, fishing, and playing in the annual McDonald’s baseball tournament. He is survived by his wife Bridget, his unborn daughter Madison Rose, his parents Andrew and Connie Schrank of Belgium, his brother and best friend Alec, his grandparents Roland Mertin of Glendale, Heinz Schrank and Richard Kiedrowski both of Milwaukee, his mother and father in law Ronald Giese of Campbellsport and Grace Giese of Grafton. He is the nephew of Russell Mertin, Dennis Schrank, Sandy (Greg) Kampschroer, Michael Mertin and Lisa Mertin. He was preceded in death by his grandmothers Delores Kiedrowski and Ann Schrank. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday evening, August 27, 7 pm at the Eernisse Funeral Home, 1600 W. Grand Ave., Port Washington with Rev. Timothy Henning officiating. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 4-7 pm. In lieu of flowers memorials to the family appreciated.
PETER N. PAULUS SR.
Peter N. Paulus Sr., age 90 years of, formerly of the Town of Fredonia died Tuesday evening, August 26, 2003 at Woodland View Estate assisted living in Fredonia where he been a resident for the past year and a half. He was born March 25, 1913 in Waubeka, son of the late Peter J. and Elizabeth Rieth Paulus. On April 30, 1935 he married
Clara Kultgen at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Port Washington. The couple farmed in the Town of Fredonia until retiring. She preceded him in death in 1991. In addition to farming Mr. Paulus worked as a mason for 45 years. He was a member of Holy Rosary Parish, Catholic Order of Foresters and the Catholic Knights. Mr. Paulus is survived by 9 children Pauline (Henry) Franzen of Sheboygan Falls, Peter A. (Carol) of Belgium, Raymond M. (Sheila) of Council Bluff, Iowa, Daniel A. (Jane) of Fredonia, Gary P. (Marie) of Fredonia, Steven T. (Karen) of Fredonia, Timothy A. (Barbara) of Gleason, Wayne H. (Barbara) of Belgium and Perry R. of Fredonia, 33 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, 1 son Aloys R., 1 granddaughter and 3 sisters. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, August 30, 10 am at Holy Rosary Parish, Holy Cross Chapel, Hwy. B, Town of Belgium. Entombment will be in St. Mary’s Mausoleum, Port Washington. Friends may call at the Eernisse Funeral Home, 171 N. Royal Ave., Belgium Friday from 4-8 pm and on Saturday from 8:30 am until 9:30 am. Helen M. Mittelsteadt
Mrs. Helen M. Mittelsteadt of Cedarburg passed away in the early morning hours of Friday, September 5, 2003 at her residence. She was born on October 10, 1913 in Whitewater, WI, daughter of the late Charles and Mae Howard Pollack. On July 23, 1938 she married
Hilbert Mittelsteadt in Whitewater. He preceded her in death in 1969. Mrs. Mittelsteadt was a charter member of Crossroads Presbyterian Church in Mequon, and also enjoyed knitting, gardening, listening to music and watching movies. She is survived by her children Thomas (Suzanne) of Grand Rapids, MI and Sara (Al) Sadowsky of Fredonia, 1 grandson and best buddy Luke Sadowsky, 1 brother Wilfred (Marion) Pollock, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, 5 brothers, and 1 sister. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday September 9, 2003 at 6:30 PM at Crossroads Presbyterian Church 6031 W. Chapel Hill Road, Mequon with Rev. Barbara Jordan officiating. Interment will be at Immanuel cemetery in Cedarburg. Visitation will be held at the church on Tuesday from 4:30 – 6:30 PM. BETTY M. BARES
Mrs. Betty Bares, age 83, of Wayside Lane in the Town of Belgium, passed away at Sheboygan Progressive Care Center Saturday evening, September 6, 2003. Betty was born on July 31, 1920 in Adell, WI, daughter of Otto and Elizabeth Kampmann Emley. On April 12, 1947 she was united in Holy Matrimony with Edwin Bares at St, Patrick’s Catholic Church in Adell. Betty lovingly raised her ten children and also worked as a cook at the Belgium Community Center for many years. Mrs. Bares was a member of the Holy Rosary Parish and the Ladies Sodality. She enjoyed embroidery, bowling, traveling, gardening, and collecting Hummels. She was also an avid reader and enjoyed her family and grandchildren. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Edwin Bares of the Town of Belgium, 4 daughters: Patricia Bares of Brown Deer, Hedy (Peter) Poull and Ruth (Rick) Kultgen, both of Port Washington, and Annie (Ron) Stadler of Town of Fredonia, 5 sons: Larry (Audrey), Steven (Carol) and Edwin C. (Manejeh), all of Belgium, Charles (Mary) of Elkhart Lake and Anthony (Jill) Bares of Fredonia, 29 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, 1 sister, Cordell (Roger) Brueckbauer of Kohler and 1 brother, Gerald Emley of Sheboygan Falls. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, She is preceded in death by 1 son, Paul, 1 sister, Jureen and 2 brothers, Monroe and Vernon. She will be dearly missed by those who loved and knew her. Mass of Christian Burial will take place Wednesday, September 10, 2003, 7 PM at Holy Rosary Parish, Hwy B, Belgium. ROSE A. MULTERER
Mrs. Rose Multerer, age 91, of Fond du Lac, formerly of Port Washington, passed away at St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac Monday morning, September 22, 2003. Rose was born October 12m 1911 in the Town of Trenton, daughter of John and Margaret Schueller Becker. She was united in marriage to Frank Multerer on June 12, 1937 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Newburg. Rose worked at Power Products as an assembler, retiring in 1974. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Port Washington, the Christian Women and the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers. She enjoyed taking care of her husband, her lawn and house, and loved sports, especially the Brewers and the Packers. She is survived by her 2 children, Harold “Butch” (RoseAnn) Multerer of Port Washington and Margaret (John ) Roeglin Laning of Fond du Lac, 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. She is further survived by 1 sister, Johanna Sanestron of West Bend, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, 2 brothers and 4 sisters. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, September 25, 2003 1PM at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Port Washington, with Fr. Allen Sommer officiating. Interment will be in Holy Trinity cemetery, Newburg. The family will receive visitors at the CHURCH Thursday from 12-1PM.
PATRICIA W. ALLEN
Patricia “Wendy” Allen died after a battle with cancer at Cedar Springs Health and Rehab Center in Cedarburg on Friday evening, September 19, 2003. She was 65 years old. Ms. Allen, of Chateau Court in Grafton, was born in Sheffield, England on March 1, 1938, daughter of Walter S. and Kathleen E. McInnes Humphry. She came with her family to the United States during World War II, and settled in the New York area.
Wendy traveled throughout the world as an US Army officer’s wife, handling all of the responsibilities that come with that position and raising three sons. She and her family eventually settled in the Saukville area around 1979. Ms. Allen then took a position as a receptionist at Mequon City Hall. She enjoyed dancing, taking care of her family and her grandchildren.
Wendy is survived by her 3 sons: Randy (Kim) Allen of Germantown, Scott (Tammy) Allen of Port Washington and Michael (Becky) Allen of Saukville, 7 grandchildren, and 1 sister, Andrea (James) Kiebler of Orlando, FL. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A Memorial Service will be held Monday, September 22, 2003 at the Eernisse Funeral Home in Port Washington at 6PM. Pastor Mark Voll will officiate. Entombment will follow the next day at St. Mary’s Mausoleum in Port Washington. The family will receive visitors at the Funeral Home Monday from 4-6PM. Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society.

Robert “Bob” Huiras, age 39 years of W3727 Belgium Kohler Road, Fredonia died unexpectedly Wednesday, September 24, 2003 at his residence. He was born December 9, 1963 in Sheboygan, son of Harold and Arlene Weiland Huiras. After graduating from Northern Ozaukee High School in 1982 he worked on the family farm and assumed ownership of the farm in 1988.On September 14, 1985 he married
Laura Degaro at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Adell. The couple operated the farm until 2001 when Bob became a carpenter. He was a member of Holy Rosary Parish, the Catholic Knights, the Catholic Order of Foresters, was an assistant coach for the Fredonia girl’s softball team and was active in Holy Cross 4-H. He is survived by his wife Laura, 4 children Bobbie Jo, Jennifer, Josh and Dustin, his parents Harold and Arlene Huiras of Fredonia, his grandmother Martha Huiras of Random Lake, 2 sisters Debbie Braby of Random Lake and Lori (Mike) Baumann of Fredonia, 2 brothers Thomas (Chrissy) Huiras of Random Lake and Joe (Kandy) Huiras of Fredonia, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Sunday evening, September 28, 7 pm at Holy Rosary Parish, St. Rose Chapel, Fredonia with Father Richard Fleischmann officiating. (nee Wood) PORT WASHINGTON September 26, 2003 age 77 years. Loving wife of Fred W. Gilomen. Beloved mother of Mary (Mike) Bansemar and Fredric J. Gilomen. Further survived by 2 grandsons Shawn (special friend Melissa Romauld) and Eric Bansemar, brother-in-law Robert (the late Barbara) Harpke, nephew Mark (Sammie) Harpke, niece Laurie (Chris) Allen, grandnephews Joshua and Andrew Harpke and Matthew, Scott and Brian Allen, cousins Sandra Peterson and Kathy Hayden, many loving friends and her dog Minnie. preceded in death by 2 infant children, and her parents. AMALIA “Mollie” KUSNER
Amalia “Mollie” Kusner, age 88 years, formerly of Saukville died Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2003 at Marion Heights Home, 117 E. Van Buren St., Port Washington where she had been a resident for the past five years. She was born December 30, 1914 in the Town of Port Washington, daughter of Bernard and Amalie Marie Peschong Federspiel. On February 27, 1960 she married
Joseph Kusner at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Saukville. For 25 years she was the Secretary-Treasurer at the Saukville branch of Pantzer Lumber Company and later co-owned it with her husband Joseph and Mr. & Mrs. Ambrose Thill. The couple also operated the Kusner Nursery in Saukville for many years. Mollie was a meme r of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Saukville. She is survived by cousins, her dear friends Eugene and Marilyn Kirmse of Saukville, other relatives and friends. A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated on Saturday, Oct. 4, 12 noon at Immaculate Conception Church with Father Karl Acker officiating. Burial was in St. Mary’s cemetery, Port Washington. Memorials to Immaculate Conception Parish appreciated.
Joseph Koch
Mr. Joseph Koch age 85 years of Grafton, formerly of Belgium, passed away in the early morning hours of Monday September 9, 2003 at St. Mary’s Hospice in Milwaukee. He was born in Random Lake, WI on March 20, 1918 son of the late Frank and Theresa Hagel Koch. On January 14, 1944 he married
Rosa Martinez in Austin, TX. She preceded him in death in 1993. Joe worked as a shipping foreman at Simplicity Manufacturing where he was employed for 30 years. Mr. Koch was a former member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Lake Church and a current member of St. Joseph Catholic Church n Grafton. He enjoyed gardening, puzzles, playing sheepshead on Tuesdays at the Grafton Senior Center, eating spaghetti on Thursdays and traveling with his friends on the Oneida bus He is survived by 4 children; Barbara (Gerald) Tenpenny of Grafton, Carol (Dennis) Esselmann of Grafton, Daniel (Carol) Koch of Round Rock, TX and James (Connie) Koch of O’Fallon, MO. He is further survived by 8 grandchildren; Tracy (Clare) Tenpenny, Kellie Esselmann, Corey (Elizabeth) Esselmann, Krista (Christopher) Wegner, Kimberly Esselmann, Kyle, Todd and Jamie Koch, 10 great-grandchildren, 1 brother Norbert (Elsie) Koch of Phillips, WI, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his son Bobby, 2 grandchildren Brian and Wendy Koch, daughter-in-law MaryAnn Kolbach Koch, and 2 sisters Lorraine Race and Adeline Wertschnig. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday September 11, 2003 6:30 PM at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church 1619 Washington St. Grafton, with Father Michael Barrett officiating. James R. Dressel
Jim Dressel, of Evergreen Drive in Random Lake, passed away at Sheboygan Progressive Care Center early Friday morning, July 18, 2003. He was 54 years old. Jim was born on January 24, 1949 in Milwaukee, son of Donald and Gertrude “Helen” Pinter Dressel. On June 29, 1973 he was united in marriage to Ann Rivard in Milwaukee. Mr. Dressel worked as a truck driver for Harnischfeger for 30 years, starting in 1968. The couple lived in Milwaukee until 1991 before moving to Random Lake. Jim was a member of the Batavia Fire Department, the British Bike Club and United Steelworkers Union, Local 1114. He enjoyed fishing and was very passionate about motorcycles. Mr. Dressel is survived by his wife, Ann, of Random Lake, their two sons, Donald of Sheboygan and Matthew of Random Lake, his mother, Helen (Robert McGill) Dressel of Milwaukee, and 2 sisters, Mary (Chris Dashiell) Dressel of Milwaukee and Julie (Thomas) Thomas of California. He is further survived by his parents-in-law, Kenneth and Sarah Rivard of Daggett, MI, 9 brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. He is preceded in death by his father, Donald Dressel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, July 21, 2003 7 PM at Our Lady of The Lakes Parish, St. Mary’s Chapel, 300 Butler St., Random Lake. Father Richard Cerpich will officiate. FRED E. GALL
Fred “Fritz” Gall, age 83 years of 229 Roger St., Port Washington died Tuesday evening, June 10, 2003 at Lasata Care Center in Cedarburg where he had been a resident for the past several weeks. He was born June 3, 1920 in Port Washington, son of the late Erwin and Clara Stieg Gall. He was a 1938 graduate of Port Washington High School and married
Marlene Steinke on October 3, 1962 at Friedens Evangelical Church in Port Washington. She preceded him in death October 24, 2000. Mr. Gall was retired after over 30 years at Bolens, working in research and development. He was a member of Friedens Evangelical Church in Port Washington where he was a past president of the congregation, was a 55 year member of the church choir and served as choir director for over 50 years. Mr. Gall was a trombone player with the Port Washington City Band, joining in 1935. He formerly played with the Gene Merrill Orchestra and the Harry Rothman Orchestra from 1940 until 1968. He was a member of the Lakeshore Symphonic Band, the Dockside Ramblers, directed the Port Washington Senior Center Chorus for the past 20 years, served on the Port Washington Police and Fire Commission for 25 years and was a former member of the Knights of Pythias. Mr. Gall is survived by 1 son Craig of Appleton and is the brother of Carl (Elizabeth) Gall of Darmstadt, Germany, Dorothy Yurske and Betty (Julius) Bendt both of Port Washington and Gerald (Melvina) Gall of Oostburg. He is further survived by 2 brothers-in-law Charles Spear and Henry Steinke Jr. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Marlene, 1 daughter and 1 sister. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 14, 1:30 pm at Friedens Evangelical Church, 454 N. Milwaukee St., Port Washington with Pastor Mark Voll officiating. Burial will be in Union cemetery, Port Washington. Visitation at the CHURCH Saturday from 11:30 until time of services. Norma Kammers
Norma M. Kammers, age 95 years, of 425 W. Walters Street, Port Washington, died Friday, April 4, 2003 at Harbor Club. She was born November 10, 1907, in Milwaukee, daughter of Albert and Matilde Pagel Rades. On February 14, 1948 she married
Gordon Kammers in Milwaukee. He preceded her in death in August of 1993. Mrs. Kammers was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Port Washington. She was also a member of the Lutheran Women Missionary League, the St. John’s Ladies Guild, the Bethesda Auxillary, the Century Club of Concordia University, the Lutheran Laymans Guild, the People of Leisure at St. John’s Lutheran Church and the Port Washington Senior Citizens Center. She enjoyed playing cards and was an avid traveler. She is survived by nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, 2 infant daughters, 2 brothers and 5 sisters. Funeral Services will be Monday, April7, 2003 4 PM at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 403 W. Walters St., Port Washington. She will be laid to rest next to her husband at Valhalla Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Monday, April 7, 2-4 PM at the church. (nee Halloran) of CEDARBURG passed away Sunday, June 15, 2003 after a courageous battle with leukemia. Ruth D. Schwendener
Ruth D. Schwendener age 85 years of 963 W. Whitefish Rd., formerly of Elmhurst, IL passed away January 2, 2003 at her residence after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. She was born in Milwaukee on December 17, 1917 daughter of the late Julius and Martha Seliger Theilacker. In 1940 she graduated from Downer College in Milwaukee. On May 17, 1941 she married
David Dunning at Galena Methodist Church in Milwaukee. David preceded her in death in 1975. In 1987 she married
Paul Schwendener in La Grange, IL. He preceded her in death in 1992. Ruth was known for her art. She enjoyed teaching, selling and showing her art. She also was the owner and operator for a period of time of a maternity shop. She was a member of the Chicago Yacht Club, the Executive Breakfast Club, and the Goldbrick Investment Club. She was very active in Christ Church of Oakbrook, IL, serving as a Deaconess within the church from 1993-1998. She also enjoyed crossword puzzles, bible study, playing bridge, and sketching and painting. She is survived by 3 children Susan Atwell of Seattle, WA, David (Sharon) Dunning of Wayne, IL and Martha (Richard) DeMario of Port Washington, 7 grandchildren 3 great-grandchildren, 1 brother Fred (June) Theilacker of Brookfield, and Grace (Fran) Millen of Bayside, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her two husbands and one grandson John.
A private visitation and service was held at the Eernisse Funeral Home in Port Washington. A memorial service to celebrate her life will take place Thursday January 9, 2002 1PM in the Garden Chapel at Christ Church in Oakbrook, IL. Memorials to Christ Church Oakbrook are suggested.
