Myrtle E. (Henderson) Temby

Mt. Horeb - Myrtle E. (Henderson) Temby, age 82 of Mt. Horeb, WI died on Thursday,
September 19, 2002 at Ingleside Nursing Home in Mt. Horeb, WI.

The former Myrtle Elizabeth Henderson was born October 16, 1919 in
Springdale Township, WI to Forest E. & Nora (Inselman) Henderson. After
high school, she graduated from Madison Business College. She worked at the
Ace Hardware Store for 57 years as a bookkeeper and secretary. She was an
avid bowler.

She was married to Donald J. Temby August 17, 1972 at the Nashua Little
Brown Church in Iowa.

Myrtle was a member of the Mt. Horeb United Methodist Church. She was a
former member of the Sweet Adeline Singing Group.

She is survived by her husband: Donald,
her brother: Donald (Gertrude) Henderson of Verona,
her nieces and nephew: Karen (John) Ranum of Mt. Horeb,
Connie Jo (Gary) Zwettler of Blue Mounds,
Tom (Sue) Henderson of Mt. Horeb,
Susan Henderson,
Mary Greene both of the State of Washington,
Judy Geist of Florida,
Nancy Spiedel of Highland,
her sister-in-law: sister-in-law: Lorraine Henderson of Colorado.
and many friends. Myrtle was a wonderful wife, sister, aunt and friend.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother: Norman Henderson.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 AM on Monday, September 23, 2002 at the
Mt. Horeb United Methodist Church with Rev. Jacqueline Sharer Robertson
officiating. Burial will be at the Verona cemetery. Friends may call from
3-6 PM on Sunday, September 22, 2002 at the ELLESTAD FUNERAL HOME, 500 N.
8th. Street, Mt. Horeb. In lieu of flowers memorials preferred to Mt. Horeb
United Methodist Church.

Gerald "Jerry" Tiedeman

Mazomanie - Gerald "Jerry" Tiedeman, age 61, of Mazomanie, WI, died peacefully on Sunday, August 18, 2002 at home surrounded by his family and friends.
Jerry was born March 3, 1941 in Sauk County, WI to Lawrence and Mabel Tiedeman.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran during the Vietnam War.

Survivors include: His son: Todd (Shelley) Tiedeman of rural Mazomanie

2 Grandsons: Dustin and Curtis Tiedeman

And many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and his son: Lee Tiedeman.

A gathering of family and friends will be from 5 to 8 pm, on Wednesday, August 21, 2002, at Todd Tiedeman's house, 10957 Amenda Rd., Mazomanie, WI.
The Ellestad Funeral Home, 1337 Mills St., Black Earth, WI, is serving the family.

Heinz Treu

Mt. Horeb - Heinz Treu, age 77 of Mount Horeb and formerly of Milwaukee and Germany died unexpectedly Sunday Morning, September 8th, 2002 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Madison.

He was born December 28, 1924 in Eastern Germany to Heinrich & Helene (Priebe) Treu. Heinz left Germany in 1953 with his wife Ruth and two sons to start a new life in America. Heinz and Ruth were married October 25, 1945. Heinz was preceded in death by his loving wife of over fifty years on October 1997.

He worked for Jack White Ford in Milwaukee for over twenty years, before opening Treu Ford in Mount Horeb.

He is survived by three sons;

Harry (Lisa), twin daughters Katrina and Karinthia of Madison,

Jim (Ann), daughter Gretchen of Mount Horeb

and Norm of Newport Rhode Island.
He is also survived by his brothers: Willi (Novella) of Omaha Nebraska,

Benno (Hanelore) of Milwaukee,

Siegfried (Erika) of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

and his sister: Betty (Edward) Fuhrman of Milwaukee.

Heinz has many close relatives and friends who dearly loved and admired him. We love you Opa and will miss you very much.

Friends and relatives may call from 4-7 PM on Thursday, September 12, 2002 at the Ellestad Funeral Home, 500 N. 8th. Street in Mount Horeb and also on Friday, September 13, 2002 from 11:00 AM till 2:00 PM at Wisconsin
Memorial Park, 13235 W. Capital Drive in Milwaukee where a funeral service will be at 2:00 PM.

Emma Viola Urness

Black Earth - Emma Viola Urness, 98, died Tuesday morning 13 August 2002 at Ingleside Nursing Home in Mt. Horeb, Wisconsin.

She was born 25 May 1904 to Albert and Tonetta (Anderson) Dybdahl in Vermont Township. She was baptized at the Vermont Lutheran church, rural Black Earth 19 June 1904 and was confirmed there in the Lutheran faith 19 May 1918. She received her elementary education at the Helland School, rural Black Earth and graduated from Black Earth high school in 1922.

On 24 June 1925 she was united in marriage to Nels Urness at the Dybdahl home. They made their home at the Urness farm in Vermont Township until 1964 when they retired and moved to the village to Black Earth, where Nels died 8 December 1970. Emma lived at her home in Black Earth until suffering a debilitating stroke in October 2001, and has since then been a resident at Ingleside in Mount Horeb.

Emma will long be remembered for a lifetime of generous and loving service to her family, church and community. She was an active participant in many church and community organizations, as well as a dedicated member of the Sons of Norway. She derived great pleasure form exercising her Norwegian heritage at Vermont Lutheran Church's annual lutefisk dinner as well as through her gracious hospitality in her home.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Nels, a grand daughter: Christina Rae Urness, three brothers and three sisters.

She is survived by one son: Norton (Virginia) Urness of Black Earth, and two daughters: Anna Mae (Dean) Gesme of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Mary (Michael) Webber of Seldovia, Alaska. Also surviving are eleven grandchildren: Jon (Judy) Urness, Edith (Bob) Pondillo, Maria (Scott) Klemme, Melissa (Patrick) Sinner, Dean (Laura) Gesme, Jr., Karen (Kim) Brunssen, Martha (Peter) Nielsen, Scott (Mary Jo) Webber, Susan Webber, Kristen (Timothy) Leininger, and Steven Webber. There are also twenty great grandchildren and one great, great grandson. Three sisters survive: Carrie Austinson of Whitewater, Wisconsin, Alice Olson and Evelyn (Otto) Festge both of Madison, Wisconsin.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, August 17, 2002 at Vermont Lutheran Church. Burial will be at the church cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 7 pm on Friday, August 16, 2002 at the Ellestad Funeral Home, 500 N. 8th St., Mt. Horeb, WI. Memorials preferred to the Vermont Lutheran Church Kitchen fund.

Jeffrey R. Weber

Mt. Horeb, WI - Jeffrey R. Weber, age 48 of San Francisco, CA died on Sunday, August 11, 2002 at his sister's home after battling cancer.

He was born February 28, 1954 in Milwaukee, WI to Robert C. & Audrey (Severson) Weber.

Private memorial services will be held by his family.

Viola (Mrs. Sylvan) Amenda

Darlington - Viola (Mrs. Sylvan) Amenda, age 81 of Darlington, WI died unexpectedly at her home on Tuesday, August 13, 2002 from an apparent heart attack. The former Viola M. Wells was born December 7, 1920 in Waukesha County, WI to Charles & Edith (Shain) Wells. She was married to Sylvan F. Amenda June 26, 1937 in Darlington, WI.

Private family graveside services will be held at a later date.

The STEIL CAMACHO FUNERAL HOME, 206 E. Harriet St., Darlington, is serving the family.

Ercell G. Anderson

Verona - Ercell G. Anderson, age 75 of Rural Verona, WI died suddenly on Saturday,
September 14, 2002 at St. Mary's Hospital in Madison, WI. He was born March
31, 1927 in Blue Mounds Township, WI to Joseph E. & Myrtle V. (Speseth)
Anderson.
He was an Army veteran during World War II.
He married the former Joan Schafer on May 21, 1949.

Survivors include his wife: Joan,
his two sons: Paul of Madison

Glenn of Lombard, Illinois
his mother: Myrtle V. Anderson of Blue Mounds,
his two brothers: Spencer D. (Renee) Anderson
& Douglas E. Anderson both of Blue Mounds,
and many nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, September 17, 2002 at the
ELLESTAD FUNERAL HOME, 500 N. 8th. Street, Mt. Horeb, WI with Rev.
Jonathon Kosec officiating. Burial will be at the Perry Lutheran cemetery.
Friends may call after 10:00 AM on Tuesday at the Ellestad Funeral Home.
