Sarbacker, Marilyn C.
VERONA - Marilyn C. Sarbacker, age 78, was born into eternal life on Sunday, July 13, 2008, at Four Winds Manor, Verona. She was born on April 18, 1930, in Verona, the daughter of George and Laura (Davidson) Sarbacker. A life-long resident of Verona, she was the daughter of a trucking firm operator and Verona ice delivery man and her Town of Primrose raised mother. Marilyn had an uncanny remembrance of community life, recalling a variety of details of the developing area. She would tell of sharing the ice shavings from her Dad's truck with other children, as well as, who lived where, when, and a chronology of events and relationships that could never be recorded. An inveterate pinochle player, friendly games during family gatherings would seem much more competitive and participative as new and additional players were introduced to the game, through instructional comments made at the expense of other veteran players. She moved from living in the center of Verona only for a short period, to living in downtown Madison. She was a long time employee of Oscar Mayer, working on computers in the 1960s and early 70s, leaving work to care for her father and then mother. Always independent, she then held a variety of jobs in the Verona area. Marilyn is survived by a large number of cousins and friends. She was a member of St. Andrew's Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her parents and infant sister. Burial will be held at St. Andrew's Catholic cemetery on Wednesday, July 16, 2008, at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Andrew's Catholic Church, 301 N. Main St., Verona, WI 53593. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Four Winds Manor and HospiceCare for their loving care and concern.
