Denicola, Sharon L.
REWEY - Sharon Lynn Denicola, age 51 of Rewey, passed away on Saturday, July 12, 2008, at Finely Hospital in Dubuque, Iowa after an extended illness. She was born in Milwaukee on Jan. 28, 1957. She married
Kerry Denicola in Baraboo on Aug. 11, 1989. They lived in Rewey for the past six years. Sharon is survived by her husband, Kerry of Rewey; five children, Michelle (Scott) Gerl, Ann Cassidy, Kevin Ostroski, Jonathon Denicola and Amanda Denicola; several grandchildren; and a sister, Sally (Jeff) Upright of Mifflin. She was preceded in death by her parents. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 16, 2008, at 11 a.m. at the GORGEN FUNERAL HOME in Mineral Point. Burial will be in Graceland cemetery. Friends may call on Tuesday, July 15, 2008, from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. and on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.

Deppeler, Albert H.
MONROE - Albert H. Deppeler, well known Green County Cheesemaker and Forester, age 84, died July 12, 2008, at Pleasant View Nursing Home. He was born Sept. 17, 1923 in Green County, the son of Fred and Alice Ingold Deppeler. He married
Marion Marty, on Feb. 2, 1947 at St. John's United Church of Christ and they celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary in February 2008. Albert grew up at the Pine Bluff Cheese Factory in Brodhead, graduated from Brodhead High School and attended Colorado School of Mines and UW-Platteville. Albert was 16 when he went to work at the Wyss Cheese Factory, now the Chalet Cheese Co-op located between Monroe and Monticello. During World War II, Albert served in the Army Infantry in Europe until his discharge in 1946. He spent 50 years at the Chalet Cheese Factory, which is the only factory today making Limburger cheese. He was also known as a Master Cheesemaker in the development of Baby Swiss. Albert owned and operated the Deppeler Cheese Factory in Clarno Township and was the manager at the Chalet Factory. He retired from cheese making in 1997 and devoted his energies in timber management and development. He was an outstanding tree farmer and sawmill operator. Albert established the Green County Forestry Education Center and donated 20 acres of woods to the center. He had a passion for helping and teaching young people, especially 4-H groups. He believed in hard work and education. Albert served on the Green County Fair Board, judged wood-working for many years, was active in the Monticello Historical Society and was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ. Albert is survived by his wife, Marion of Monroe; a sister, Wilhelmina Rabe of Clarno Township; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by brothers, Fred and Lloyd; a brother and sister in infancy; and a foster son, Ronald Ginner. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 15, 2008, at 11 a.m. at ST. JOHN'S UNITED CHURCH OF CHRIST with the Rev. Gretchen Sylvester officiating. Interment will be in Greenwood cemetery, Monroe. A visitation will be held on Monday, July 14, 2008, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, Monroe. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Albert's name.

Hill, Eric Zambrano
LONE ROCK - Eric Zambrano Hill, age 25 of Lone Rock, died suddenly on Friday July 11, 2008. Eric was born to Ofelia Zambrano Gonzales and Manuel Rubiano Gonzales in Neiva, Colombia, and was adopted in 1987 by Mike and Bonnie. Eric enjoyed basketball, chess, and camping, and will be remembered for his great sense of humor. He devoted the last three years of his life to the work of God. Eric is survived by his mother, Bonnie(Mark) Strozinsky of Lone Rock; his father, Mike(Lori) Hill of Cross Plains; his sisters, Melisa Trejo(Jose) of North Freedom and Jackeline Hill of Lone Rock; his brother, Julio Jenson of Copenhagen, Denmark; his grandmother, Tharon Lee Bailey of Mount Sterling, Ohio; and his nephew, Julian Zambrano of Lone Rock. A memorial service will be held at the RICHARDSON-STAFFORD FUNERAL HOME in Spring Green on Wednesday July 16, 2008, at 1 p.m. Pastor Regi Licht will officiate. A visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday from 11 a.m. until time of the service at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.

Kleinfeldt, Susan C. (Berry)
WINDSOR - Susan Carol (Berry) Kleinfeldt, age 53, passed away on Saturday, July 12, 2008, from Leukemia. She was born on April 11, 1955, in Hedrick, Iowa, the beloved daughter of Dr. James A. and Marilyn (Carlson) Berry. She was baptized as a child and later witnessed her faith through her confirmation in the Lutheran Church. Susie graduated from Hedrick High School, in Hedrick, Iowa. She received a degree in fashion merchandising from Bauder College, Miami, Fla. and continued her studies at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Susie was united in marriage to Duane Kleinfeldt on Aug. 27, 1977. She was a layout artist for Tony's Insty Prints. Tony helped guide her creative ability and was her mentor. She loved working in retail, beginning her career with Kohl's Department Store, then Old Navy and most recently Allen-Edmonds Shoes as their director of retail, before she retired. Susie loved to decorate her home and work in her flower garden. She was a gracious host and enjoyed entertaining friends and family at her beautiful home. During her illness, Susie worked tirelessly for both the Lymphoma Society and the American Cancer Society, developing many unique and novel fund raisers from selling cookies to theme dinners and garden parties. Susie was a talented musician, artist, designer, gardener and also enjoyed traveling and spent hours planning the itinerary. She is survived by her loving husband of 30 years, Duane Kleinfeldt of Windsor; adoring parents, Dr. James A. and Marilyn Berry of Fall River; and further survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and beloved pets. She was preceded in death by her grandparents. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, July 16, 2008. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Tuesday, July 15, 2008. Memorials may be made to the Columbus Relay for Life or Leukemia Lymphoma Society.

MADISON/JANESVILLE - Shelley A. Krause, age 58, of Madison, formerly of Janesville, died Saturday, July 12, 2008, at the HospiceCare Inc. Inpatient Unit, Fitchburg. She was born in Janesville on June 8, 1950, the daughter of Howard and Verna (Hansen) Larsen and was a 1968 graduate of Janesville High School. Shelley then graduated from Madison Business College and worked lastly as legal secretary and assistant for Michael, Best, and Friedrich Law Office in Madison. She married
Bruce Krause on Jan. 1, 1989, in Janesville. She was a member of First Lutheran Church in Janesville. She and Bruce moved to Madison in 1998. She is survived by her husband, Bruce; two sons, Eric and Chris Eckerman both of Chicago, Ill.; three siblings, Lynn (Denny) McCabe of Palmyra, Mo., Joy (Norm) Barks and Bruce (Sue) Larsen both of Janesville; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Dick Larsen; and a sister, Darlene Larsen. Nybroten, Magnhild "Mugs"
MONROE - Magnhild "Mugs" Nybroten, age 100 of Monroe, went to be with her Lord on Saturday, July 12, 2008, at the New Glarus Nursing Home in New Glarus. She was born on Feb. 10, 1908 in Adams Township, the daughter of Anton and Dorthea (Bratrud) Nybroten. Mugs was baptized and confirmed at Adams Lutheran Church. She graduated from rural Meadow Brook School and in 1928 from Argyle High School. Mugs attended Augsburg College in Minneapolis, Minn. graduating in 1930. Upon her graduation she taught in Belview, Minn. for several years. Later, she attended the Lutheran Bible Institute in Minneapolis. Mugs served as a missionary teacher and taught French and English in Fort Daughin, Madagascar from 1936 to 1966. Her first furlough occurred during World War II and it took her 11 months to get home. During her second furlough in 1956 she studied French at the University of Minnesota and later that same year at the Alliance Francaise in Paris, France. During each furlough she spoke in many churches throughout the Midwest, on behalf of the mission program. Mugs returned to the Midwest in 1966 and spent several years caring for her mother, Dorthea Nybroten, in Argyle. After her mother's death, she taught school in Corona, Calif. from 1973 to 1976. She retired to Minneapolis, Minn. and resided with her sister and brother-in-law, Geneva and Otto Rystad. She was an active member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church. Mugs was the last living relative of a family of 18 children and was very proud of her Norwegian family and upbringing. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Klara Walden, Geneva Rystad, Agnes Foesch, and Borghild Nybroten; her brothers, Casper, Oscar, Victor, Burnette, Carl and Borgfin Nybroten. Orphaned in 1911, nephews and nieces of Dorthea's brother, Oscar, Louis, Bennie, Anna and Hulda Rood, were now included in their family. Five years later with the death of her sister, their family grew again to include Buelah, Orville and Julian Rear. Mugs is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family. At Mugs' request, she has donated her body to science. Memorial services will be held at a later date. The Erickson Funeral Home in Argyle is serving the family. BLACK EARTH - Della D. Parkin, age 68 of Black Earth, died on Friday, July 11, 2008 at her home after a long illness. She was born Jan. 21, 1940, in Madison, to Hjalmer O. and Frances E. (Bakken) Sveum. She married
Raymond D. Parkin, Sr. on June 23, 1958 in Caledonia, Minnesota. Della loved spending time with her family and friends. She also loved the outdoors, especially the birds, flowers and her gardens. Survivors include her husband, Ray; her daughter, Donna Rae Ballweg of Spring Green; her son, Ray (Marcia) Parkin, Jr. of Middleton; six grandchildren, Brandon, Raymond David III, Daniel, Emma, Megan and Molly; two sisters, Ruth Hankel of Mount Horeb and Karen (Al) Graber of Mineral Point; three brothers, Ralph Sveum of Verona, Steve (Donna) Sveum of Arena and Roger (Carol) Bakken of Brooklyn; her best friend, Nonie Parkin; and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Ken and Dean Sveum; and a brother-in-law, Charles Hankel, Sr. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, July 16, 2008, at the ELLESTAD CAMACHO FUNERAL HOME, 1710 Center St., Black Earth, with Pastor Rob Nelson officiating. Pfaff, Charles E.
ROCK SPRINGS - Charles Edward Pfaff, age 66 of Rock Springs, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on Saturday, July 12, 2008, at his home. Charlie was born on Nov. 15, 1941, in Genoa, the son of Marion and Lucille (Breidenstein) Pfaff. Charlie was a 1959 graduate of Reedsburg High School. He then attended the Milwaukee School of Engineering from 1959 to 1961. Following this, he enlisted in the United States Army, where he worked for the Army Security Agency from 1963 to1969. On June 13, 1964, he was united in marriage to Betty Lou Elder at Zion Lutheran Church in Rock Springs. He later married
Linda Giddings on Sept. 19, 1992 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Baraboo. Charlie was a life-long electrician and master plumber working in the family business for over 30 years. He then worked for Perry Printing in electrical maintenance for over 22 years. In addition, Charlie worked on the family farm with his brother Jim. A true passion of his was music; he played with the "Hal Edwards Orchestra" during his high school days, and he and his brother Jim formed "The Mello-Tones" and have been playing together for more than 49 years. In 2007, Charlie became the proud owner of The Barn Restaurant in Baraboo. Other interests included being a member of the B.P.O.E. Baraboo Lodge no. 688, and the Rock Springs Volunteer Fire Department for over 25 years. Charlie also enjoyed hunting, fishing and a good game of Euchre. Charlie is survived by his wife, Linda of Rock Springs; sons, Doug (Fiancée, Michelle Curtis) Pfaff of Murfreesboro, Tenn. and Brian (Trisha) Pfaff of Baraboo; stepdaughters, Amber Giddings of Baraboo, Autumn Giddings of Wisconsin Dells and Sunshine Giddings of Tomah; ten grandchildren, Kayla, Danielle, Brock, Tyler, Spencer, Nicholas, Adeline, Avery, Vaughn, and Taylor; two brothers, Jim (Donna) Pfaff of Rock Springs and John (Cindy) Pfaff of Sheboygan; three nieces, Tammy (John) Deering of Rock Springs, Becky Vorndran of Rock Springs and Robin Pfaff of Maryland; nephew, J.T. MADISON - Edna R. Solberg, age 94, of Madison, passed away on Friday, July 11, 2008 at Karmenta Nursing and Rehabilitation. She was born on Dec. 24, 1914 in Blanchardville, the daughter of John and Beatta (nee Ruud) Hanson. She was married
to Howard Solberg, for 40 years. She worked for the Veterans Administration Hospital in Madison, for 20 years. She was an avid fan of professional wrestling, euchre, and playing bingo. Edna is survived by her husband, Howard Solberg; children, Janette Adler of Madison, Arlene Curtis of Madison, Jeanne Vasen of Blue Mounds, Robert (Christine) Briggs of Beltsville, Md., Alan(Char) Briggs of Chicago, Ill., Spencer (Judy) Briggs of Kilmichael, Miss., Edith (Ron) LaForge of Grantsburg, Wis., Rita Briggs of Madison, and Bonnie (Jim) Briggs of Bellville; 33 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Hazel. DuWayne Springer on Sept. 29, 1951, at Priest Rectory in Jefferson. Dolores was a homemaker and a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic church in Jefferson. She is survived by her husband, DuWayne; two daughters, Deborah Kylmanen of Jefferson and Diane (Terry) Gard of Oconomowoc; two sons, Daniel (Mary Beth) Springer of Jefferson and Dennis (Mary) Springer of McFarland; nine grandchildren, Mackenzie and Kyle Kylmanen, Jessica and Hailey Gard, Mitchell and Nicole Springer, and Karli, Jacob, and Hannah Springer; and one brother, Robert (Patti) Lipski of Watertown. Fred was born on March 8, 1926, in Little Grant Township, the son of Fred Louis and Mae (Devlin) Brendemuehl. BARABOO - Leatrice "Lee" (Stadler) Capps, age 79, went home to her savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, July 12, 2008. Lee was born on Feb. 25, 1929, in Manitowoc. She was a member of Baraboo's Emmanuel United Methodist Church and V.F.W. Post 987 Auxiliary.
