Ringhand, Cleo L.

OREGON - Cleo L. Ringhand, age 78, of Oregon, died on Thursday, Oct. 27, 2005, at the Don and Marilyn Anderson HospiceCare Center. She was born on July 15, 1927, in Oregon, to Percy and H. Fern (DeJean) Neath. Cleo married Charles "Bob" Ringhand on June 8, 1946, in Dubuque, Iowa. She worked for General Casualty Insurance Company for 21 years, retiring in 1987. Cleo was a lifetime member of First Presbyterian Church, Eastern Star, Oregon Area Senior Center, and RSVP Program. She is survived by a daughter, Barbara (Joe) Rueth of Madison; daughter-in-law, Terry Ringhand of Green Bay; grandson, Michael (Collette) Ringhand of Green Bay; two great-grandchildren, Cole and Alexis; brother-in-law and companion, Dan Ringhand of New Glarus; two sisters-in-law, Elsie Neath and Glorene Ringhand, both of Madison; and several nieces and nephews. Cleo was preceded in death by her husband, Charles "Bob"; a son, Maurice; and brother, Eldon Neath. Funeral services will be held at FIRST PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH, 172 North Main Street, Oregon, at 11 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 31, 2005, with the Rev. Clara Thompson presiding. Burial will be at Prairie Mound cemetery. Visitation will be at the GUNDERSON OREGON FUNERAL HOME, 431 Soden Drive from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 30, 2005, and at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Monday. Sutter, Ralph H.

MOUNT HOREB - Ralph "Slim" H. Sutter, age 79, of Mount Horeb, died on Friday, Oct. 28, 2005, at Ingleside Nursing Home. He was born on June 7, 1926, in the Mount Horeb area. He married Alice M. Moe on March 27, 1967. Alice preceded him in death on Oct. 1, 1984. He worked at the Village of Mount Horeb Public Works before he retired. He was a life long member of St. Ignatius Catholic Church in Mount Horeb. He is survived by two step-daughters, Patricia A. Boustany of Madison and Jacqueline (Ronnie) Barton of Joliet, Ill.; four grandchildren, Damon, Shane and Shannon Boustany and Robbie Barton; three great-grandchildren, Shannon and Kaitlyn Boustany and Karlee Barton; his brother, August Sutter of Milwaukee; and many nieces, nephews; cousins; and friends. He was preceded in death by his his wife; parents; and a brother, Jim Sutter. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 31, 2005, at ST. Zimmerman, Marian E.

MONTICELLO - Marian E. Zimmerman, age 85, of Monticello, died Thursday, Oct. 27, 2005, at Pleasant View Nursing Home, Monroe. Marian was born July 21, 1920, in Green County, the daughter of Henry and Edna (Melvin) Elmer. She graduated from Monroe High School in 1937 and Browns College of Commerce, Freeport, Ill., in 1939. Marian and John D. Zimmerman were united in marriage on March 15, 1941, in Monroe. Marian worked for 45 years at the J.S. Hoffman Co. of Monroe until retiring in 1984. She was a member of Zwingli United Church of Christ, Monticello, where she was a charter member of the Ruth Circle. She was a Charter member of the Amstutz Marty American Legion Auxiliary in Monticello, Ladies Auxiliary to V.F.W. Post No. 2312 in Monroe, Order of the Eastern Star St. Omar Chapter No. 90 in Monroe, serving two years as Past Worthy Matron, and also belonged to the White Shrine Jerusalem No. 6 of Madison. Marian loved bowling, was an avid reader, and enjoyed playing cards. Survivors include a sister, Dorothy M. Jensen of Monroe; a brother, Don (Donna) Elmer of Davis, Ill.; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John on July 8, 1985; a brother, Henry C. Elmer on April 3, 2003; a special niece, Susan Disch Reiss on August 28, 2004; two sisters-in-law, Rose Elmer and Anna Frick Durst; four brothers-in-law; a great-nephew; and two greatnieces. Funeral services will be held on Monday, Oct. 31, 2005, at 11 a.m. at ZWINGLI UNITED CHURCH OF CHRIST, Monticello, with the Rev. Lawrence Balleine officiating. Interment will follow in Swiss Church cemetery, New Glarus. Friends may call at the church on Sunday, Oct. 30 from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. with an Eastern Star service to be held at 7 p.m. A memorial fund will be established in Marian's name. Allen, Veda A.

LIVINGSTON - Veda A. Allen, age 90, died Friday, Dec. 9, 2005, at Orchard Manor Nursing Home in rural Lancaster. She was born July 13, 1915, in Cokerville, Wis., the daughter of Charles and Emma (Draves) Chandler. She marred Burdette J. "Snorkey" Allen in 1948. She is survived by three children, Rodney (LaVon) Allen of Livingston, Beverly (Steve) Jacobus of Boscobel and Christie (Stan) Farrey of Shullsburg; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a sister, Evelyn Dietzman of Livingston. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Burdette, on Dec. 13, 1984; an infant daughter, Jill; and a sister, Verna Hird. Funeral services will be held at LIVINGSTON UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, Livingston, at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2005, with Pastor John Oliver officiating. Burial will be in Rock Church cemetery, Clifton Township, Grant County. Friends may call from 9 a.m. until the time of services at the church Tuesday. Amacher, Daniel R. "Danny"

MADISON - Daniel R. "Danny" Amacher, age 62, passed away on Friday, Dec. 9, 2005. He was born on Feb. 24, 1943, the son of Frederick and Sophie (Evonovich) Amacher. Danny is survived by brothers; sisters; nieces, nephews and other relatives in the Madison area. Funeral services will be held at RYAN FUNERAL HOME, 2418 N. Sherman Ave., on Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2005, at 1 p.m. A visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday from noon until the time of services. Private burial will be held at a later date. Antos, Richard Fred

PRAIRIE DU SAC - Richard Fred Antos, age 73, passed away at his house surrounded by his family on Friday, Dec. 9, 2005. He was born in Chicago Ill., on Dec. 12, 1931, to James and Olga Rose (Pospishel) Antos. He grew up in Naperville and graduated from Naperville Central High School. He joined the National Guard in 1949, and in 1950, he joined the U.S. Army, serving the Special Services. On Oct. 28, 1955, he married Kathleen Arnhold at St. Marys Church in West Chicago. Together they lived in Naperville for 28 years and raised their family. He worked as a carpenter for the Chicago Local Union 1889. Richard and Kathleen moved to Prairie du Sac in 1981. He built the home they lived in. Richard retired in 1993. He was a devoted family man and master craftsmen who enjoyed being outdoors, hunting, fishing, spending time with his dogs, Shadow and Holly, and worked as a animal rehabilitator for the Department of Natural Resources. He loved to travel with his family, and even to Ireland, England, and Wales. He was a true Chicago Bears fan. Survivors include his wife Kathleen, of Prairie du Sac; his children, Robert Antos of Warrenville, Ill., Kolleen (Daniel) Kaul of Prairie du Sac, Dawn (Jeff) Jacobs of Prairie du Sac, Beth (Chuck) Richter of Warrenville, Ill. and Bradley (Yvonne) Weber of Warrenville, Ill.; his grandchildren, Colton and Kyle Antos, Jason, Daniel and Robert Kaul, Jeff Jr., Jessi and Jenni Jacobs, Shania Wagner-Richter, Robert, Megan, Amy, Casey and Matthew Weber; and a brother, Charles (June) Antos of Montana. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an uncle, Charles "Chick" Pospishel. Arndt, Dorothy Ann

MADISON - Dorothy Ann Arndt, age 75, of Madison, passed away unexpectedly from a stroke on Friday, Dec. 9, 2005, at Meriter Hospital, surrounded by her family. She was born on May 26, 1930, in Manitowoc, to Walter and Josephine (Krainik) Wiesner. Dorothy married her high school sweetheart, Lloyd Arndt on July 10, 1954, at St. Paul's Catholic Church. She was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church and enjoyed the senior fun and fitness classes at McFarland and Monona pools. Dorothy loved flowers, crocheting, knitting, traveling, camping, and nature, but the true joy of her life were her children and grandchildren. Family was very important to Dorothy. She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Lloyd; daughters, Susan (David) Madsen, Nancy (Charles) Oldroyd, Judy (Donald) Lesnick and Mary (Jeffery) Schleif; sons, Michael Arndt and Mark (Wendi) Arndt; grandchildren, Katie and Laura Madsen, Nicholas and Nina Oldroyd, Donnie and Jackie Lesnick, and Anna and Carly Schleif; a brother, William (Jean) Wiesner; a sister-in-law, Theresa Wiesner; and several nieces and nephews. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, John Wiesner; and brothers-in-law, Robert Arndt and Ralph Arndt. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at IMMACULATE HEART OF MARY CATHOLIC CHURCH, 5101 Schofield St., Monona, at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2005, with Father John Meinholz presiding. Capacio, Fae E.

MCFARLAND/ MADISON - Fae E. Capacio, age 81, of McFarland, passed away on Saturday, Dec. 3, 2005. Fae was born on March 11, 1924, in Okee, the daughter of William and Ellura (Long) Wells. Fae was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church. She enjoyed dancing, playing euchre and solitaire, doing crossword puzzles, and playing the piano and harmonica. Fae also enjoyed going to the theater, especially on her trips with her family to the Fireside Theater. But most of all, Fae enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Survivors include three children, Paulette Klein of Madison, Dennis (Paula) Capacio of Cambridge and John Capacio of Madison (Lenore Capacio); five grandchildren, William (Rebecca) Klein of St. Louis, Mo., Michael (Melissa) Klein of Hustisford, Shelby Capacio of St. Paul, Minn., Adam Capacio of Cambridge and Lindsay Capacio of Boston, Mass.; seven great-grandchildren, William Klein Jr., Wyatt Klein, Weston Klein, Whitney Klein, Willow Klein, Daniel Klein and Devin Klein; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; nine siblings; ex-husband, George Joseph Capacio in 1968; a grandson, Daniel John Gebauer; and former son-in-law, Richard Klein. Funeral services will take place at the DIVINE SAVIOR UNITED METHODIST CHURCH on Wednesday, Dec. 14, 2005, at 1 p.m. A visitation will take place at the RYAN FUNERAL HOME, 2418 N. Sherman Ave., on Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2005, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m., and also at the church from noon until the time of services. Christianson, Elnora Lillian

VIROQUA - Elnora Lillian Christianson, age 93, passed away on Friday, Dec. 9, 2005, at the Vernon Manor Nursing Home in Viroqua, where she had been a resident since Dec. 2, 2005. She was born on June 20, 1912, to Martin and Tina (Lee) Holte, in rural Westby. She married Hilmer Christianson on Aug. 26, 1933, in Waukon, Iowa. They farmed their entire married life at rural Viroqua. Hilmer died on March 22, 2001. She continued to live at her home until Nov. 11, 2005, when she moved to the Fair Haven Assisted Living Facility in Viroqua. She was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church and an active member of the Rebecca Circle. "Grandma, " as everyone called her, loved to bake cookies and have family and friends come for coffee. Elnora is survived by two sons, Conrad (Mary) Christianson of Liberty Pole, rural Viroqua and Tilman (Dorothy) Christianson of Madison; two daughters, Joanne (Gordon) Dach of Viroqua and Judy (Eldon) Gardner of rural Viroqua; eight grandchildren, Tammy (Eric) Sherry and Christian of Viroqua, Tim Christianson of Madison, Cindy (Paul) Rescorl of New Jersey and Jessica Rescorl and Helena (Mitch) Yerby, Lauria (Ray) Johnston of Mondovi and Jeremy (Krissy) Johnston and Kurtis, Justin, Kevin and Kelsey Johnston, Dwight (Wanda) Dach and Alyssa, Samantha and Max of Viroqua, Diane (Dave) Schultz and Andy Stenslien and Kayla Schultz of Viroqua, Debra (Eric) Deaver and Brent, Brynn and Britany of Viroqua; a sister, Lydia Melvin of New Lisbon; other relatives and many friends. She was also preceded in death by her parents; a son, Marvin Christianson, in 1954; a grandson, Todd Christianson, in 1991; a brother, Alf Holte; and eight sisters, Nora Wang, Alida Nelson, Myrtle Mickelson, Thelma Gorsline, Borghild Stalsberg, Gladys Hanson, Helen Evenstad, and an infant sister. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2005, at GOOD SHEPHERD LUTHERAN CHURCH, Viroqua, with Pastor Jeff Reutten officiating. Burial will be in the Viroqua cemetery. Deakman, Elizabeth T.

MIDDLETON - Elizabeth T. Deakman, age 84, died Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2005. She was born on June 28, 1921, in St. Louis, Mo., the daughter of Atwood and Florence Tinker. Elizabeth was united in marriage with Charles Deakman on May 24, 1943, in St. Louis. He preceded her in death on April 19, 2001. Elizabeth was a writer, editor and freelance photojournalist. She authored several books and was an avid genealogist. She never retired, enjoying photography and writing her entire life. Elizabeth loved to travel and with Charles and her three children, visited 49 of the 50 states and traveled throughout Europe. By herself, she traveled extensively in Alaska in 1961, as a freelance writer, developing stories that were later published. In addition to her many friends, Elizabeth is survived by a daughter, Carol Deakman of Manassas, Va.; two sons, Kenneth (Jan) Deakman of Centerville, Minn. and Peter (Sue) Deakman of Madison; and three grandchildren, Lauren, Alex and Charlie Deakman. MADISON/ BLACK EARTH - Sixto dela Cruz, age 94, passed away on Friday, Dec. 9, 2005, at Heartland Country Village in Black Earth. Sixto was born on Aug. 6, 1911, in the Philippines, and immigrated to Madison in 1970. Sixto married the love of his life, Elena Viloria, in 1930. Sixto will be missed and mourned by his eight children, Felipe dela Cruz of Baraboo, Rodolfo dela Cruz of Hawaii, Estinely (Norberto) Guillermo of Madison, Renato dela Cruz of Manila, Philippines, Ricardo (Zenaida) dela Cruz of Madison, Victor (Luningning) dela Cruz of Madison, Benjamin dela Cruz of Madison and Benito (Nida) dela Cruz of Madison; 18 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Sixto was preceded in death by his wife, Elena, in 2004. A visitation will be held at CRESS FUNERAL HOME, 3610 Speedway Road, on Monday, Dec. 12, 2005, from 11 a.m. until noon. Dunn, Dorothy Luedke

MADISON - Dorothy Luedke Dunn, age 97, of Madison, died peacefully at the Attic Angel Place Health Center, Middleton, on Saturday, Dec. 10, 2005. She was born on Feb. 12, 1908, in Milwaukee. Her father, Walter John Luedke, died eight months before her birth. Her mother, Louise (Kiekhefer) Luedke was remarried about three years later to Arthur Ernest Meier, and the family moved to Chicago. Dorothy was raised in Chicago, and after graduating from Lakeview High School, she attended Chevy Chase school in Washington, D.C. and the University of Wisconsin. She married Walter Conrad "Connie" Dunn, a Madison clothing merchant, on Feb. 8, 1930. Through her UW sorority, Delta Gamma, she did much volunteer work with programs for children who were deaf and blind. She also worked as a volunteer for the Attic Angel Association for 41 years. This included 25 years participating with the devotions services that she started. Dorothy was active in the St. Catherine Guild of Grace Episcopal Church for many years. There were many other volunteer activities in which she participated in the Village of Shorewood Hills where she raised her family. In 1987, she received a Rotary Club Senior Service Award. She had five children, Robert, John "Joe" (Gwenn) of Evanston, Ill., Julie (Giuseppe) Gavazzi, Thomas "Tad" (Joan) of Madison and Virginia "Ginny" Dunn of Portland, Ore. She had seven grandchildren, Elizabeth "Betsy" of Madison, Julie of Durango, Colo., Susan (Marc) of Palo Alto, Calif., Christopher (Ladee) of New Orleans, La., Abigail "Abby" (Eric) of Fort Collins, Colo., Rodolfo and Lodovico Gavazzi, both of Milan, Italy. There are six great-grandchildren, Paige and Cole in Durango, Luango Aranha in London, England, Hailey in Madison, Aria in Fort Collins and Joaquin Dunn in New Orleans. Dorothy was predeceased by her husband Walter; two children, Robert Dunn and Julie Dunn Gavazzi; and great-granddaughter, Petra Bloedorn. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Attic Angel Association, 8301 Old Sauk Road, Middleton, Wis.
