Lund, Belinde O.
EDGERTON - Belinde O. Lund, age 92, formally of Edgerton, died on Monday, February 14, 2000 at the Long Term Care Unit in the Edgerton Hospital. She was born on September 8, 1907 in the Town of Christiana, Dane County, the daughter of Carl and Lena (Nordeng) Christianson. She married
Jorgen Lund on October 9, 1926. She lived her whole life in the Edgerton area. She was a member of Central Lutheran Church and the Martha Circle. Belinde was a wonderful mother and grandmother. She loved to babysit, and was known by everyone as Nana. She is survived by five sons, Arnold (Hazel), Wesley (Mary Ann), Carroll (Lin), Wayne (Cindy), and Richard (Sheila), all of Edgerton; five daughters, Irene Johnson, Shirley (Dick) Halverson, Judy (Bob) Snell, Leone (Michael) Reynolds, and Linda Lund, all of Edgerton; 35 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Kilbourne Nelson of Edgerton, and Leona Ehle of Stoughton; and a daughter-in-law, Betty Lund of Edgerton. She was preceded in death by her parents; three sons, Harlan, Willard, and Robert; and two brothers, Melvin, and Clifford. Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 18, 2000 at 11:00 a.m. at CENTRAL LUTHERAN CHURCH with Pastor James Johnson officiating. Burial will be in the Jenson cemetery. Friends may call on Thursday, February 17, 2000 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the ALBRECHT FUNERAL HOME, Edgerton. To my children Be not sorrowful that I am gone And my earthly life is done. Martin, Timothy K.
MINERAL POINT - Timothy K. Martin, age 46 of Mineral Point died unexpectedly on Monday, February 14, 2000 at St. Marys Hospital Medical Center in Madison. He was born on October 28, 1953, the son of Richards and Ermadine (Reinke) Martin in Dodgeville. He graduated from Mineral Point High School in 1971. After graduating he entered the Air Force. He graduated from the UW-Platteville in accounting. He married
Marla Hanson on December 29, 1973 at the United Church of Christ in Mineral Point. He worked for Virchon-Krause and Company in Dodgeville under mentorship of Don Tredinnick. In 1983 he formed T.K. Martin & Company in which he owned and operated. He was a charter member of the Mineral Point Lions Club. He was a member of the United Church of Christ where he served as past president and was a member of the choir. He was also a member of the Mineral Point Chamber of Commerce. He is survived by his wife, Marla; a daughter, Leslie of Chicago, Illinois; two sons, Owen and Ethan at home; four brothers, Richards Martin, Jr. of Prairie du Sac, Thayne (Beverly) Martin of McHenry, Illinois, Robert (Carol) Martin of New Luthrop, Michigan; his mother- and father-in-law, Marvin and Phyllis Hanson of Mineral Point; a sister-in-law, Lisa (Warren) Howard of New Glarus; a brother-in-law, DuWayne (Sarah) Hanson of Mineral Point; and a godchild, Cole Howard. He is preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Michael. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 17, 2000 from the UNITED CHURCH OF CHRIST in Mineral Point. Rev. Scott OConnor will officiate. Interment will be in Graceland cemetery at a later date. Masbruch, William D.
MONTFORT - William D. Masbruch, age 80, of Montfort, died on Monday evening February 14, 2000, at Bloomfield Manor in Dodgeville surrounded by his family. He was born on October 30, 1919 on a farm in Belmont, Wisconsin to Frederick and Alma (Hill) Masbruch. He was united in marriage to Madeline Kreul at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Highland on October 30, 1941. She preceded him in death on February 3, 1989. He was a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather and will be missed by his family and friends. Bill and Madeline farmed from 1941 until moving to Montfort in 1954. Bill sold Moorman Feeds, worked at the Montfort Feed Mill, Bowden and Alexander Hardware Store and worked for many area farmers. Survived by a son, Fred (Jackie) Masbruch of McFarland; three daughters, Donna (Neil) Bisbach, Carol (Bill) Matthews both of Montfort, Margaret (Larry) Olson of Stoughton; a son-in-law, David Leslie Sr. of Milton; 14 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and sister, Marie (Paul) Wunderlin of Platteville. preceded in death also by his parents; a daughter, Mary Leslie; a granddaughter, Jackie Matthews; and two sisters, Louise and Leona. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 17, 2000 at ST. JOHNS CATHOLIC CHURCH in Castle Rock with burial in St. Thomas Catholic Church cemetery in Montfort. Schoechert, Clarence V.
WATERTOWN - Clarence V. Schoechert, age 87, of Watertown, Wisconsin, passed away on Monday, February 14, 2000, at his residence. He was born on September 7, 1912 in the Town of Watertown, the son of the late Albert Schoechert and Rose Manning. Clarence was united in marriage on July 7, 1951 to Florence Esther Steckling at St. Johns Lutheran Church in Watertown. She preceded him in death on January 2, 1995. Clarence attended Watertown High School and was at Equity Co-op in Johnson Creek until his retirement. He farmed in the Juneau area most of his life. Clarence was a member of St. Johns Lutheran Church in Watertown and was a member of the Lutheran cemetery Board. Clarence was a veteran of World War II serving in the United States Air Force. Survivors include nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 17, 2000, at ST. JOHNS LUTHERAN CHURCH in Watertown. The Reverend Rodney W. Warnecke will officiate. Burial will be in the Lutheran cemetery in Watertown with graveside military rites by the Watertown Veterans Council. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 16, 2000 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at HAFEMEISTER FUNERAL HOME and from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 17, 2000 at the church. Schultz, Kenneth E. Sr. Bud
REEDSBURG - Kenneth Bud E. Schultz, age 69, of Reedsburg, died on Monday, February 14, 2000, at University Hospital in Madison. He was born on May 20, 1930 in Reedsburg, the son of Emil and Hattie (Gudenschwager) Schultz. On June 23, 1951 he was united in marriage to the former Adeline L. Kennedy. Bud was a well known cattle dealer for many years. He was a lifelong member of St. John Lutheran Church. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, traveling and was a well known story teller. Survivors include his wife, Adeline; two daughters, Brenda (Victor) Spizman of Lake Tahoe, Nevada, and Ruth (Randy) Wolfe of Oceanside, California; three grandchildren, Matthew, Jennifer, and Ryan; his sister, DeLoris Replinger of Madison; nieces and nephews; other relatives, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his son, Butch Schultz on April 6, 1998. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 18, 2000, at ST. JOHN EVANGELICAL LUTHERAN CHURCH in Reedsburg with Dr. James Steinbrecher officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 17, 2000 at the HOOF FUNERAL HOME in Reedsburg. Winter, Robert William Jr.
MONONA - Robert William Winter Jr., age 75 of Monona, died on Monday, February 14, 2000 of complications of Alzheimers. He was born December 29, 1924 in Appleton, Wisconsin, the son of the late Robert and Emma Winter. He was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Lola Mae Winter in 1998. Robert was a 1943 graduate of Appleton High School. He went into the Army and served in Guam during World War II. He married
Lola Marks on June 11, 1949 and completed his accounting degree from the University of Wisconsin in 1950. They settled in the Monona area shortly thereafter. He went to work for the State College System then became a Certified Public Account in 1953. Robert eventually served as Director of the State College System and finally as Vice President of the University of Wisconsin System. Robert was an active member of St. Stephens Lutheran Church. He had been both president and treasurer of the board and he was on the building committee for the new church. In later years he enjoyed many hours of grounds keeping and maintenance work at the church with good friends. He was active in the East Madison Optimist Club and he was a member of the Wisconsin Society of Public Accountants. One of his most satisfying community experiences was his long time membership on the Monona Grove School Board where he completed terms as president and treasurer. He enjoyed golfing, dancing, bowling and playing bridge. He was a hard worker with a great capacity to enjoy himself and laugh. He always felt he was lucky to have had a full and happy life. We are thankful he is now at peace. Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Mary Winter of McFarland; a daughter and son-in-law, Marcia and Douglas Dewane of Willmar, Minnesota; and a son and daughter-in-law, Scott Winter and LeaAnn Miyagawa of Seattle, Washington; his beloved grandchildren, Krista and Meghan Winter, Brian and Tim Dewane and Melissa, Mikaela and Cassandra Winter. Funeral services will be held at ST. STEPHENS LUTHERAN CHURCH, 5700 Pheasant Hill Road at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 18, 2000 with Reverend Bruce Burnside presiding. LIVINGSTON - Keith Allen, age 81, of Livingston, died on Saturday evening, June 17, 2000, at Memorial Hospital of Iowa County, Dodgeville. He was born on December 8, 1918, in Livingston, the son of Mort and Luetta (Burgess) Allen. He married
Doris Hitchcock on November 5, 1938, in Dubuque, Iowa. His wife, Doris, survives him, as do eight children, Sandra (Mervin) Wunderlin, Livingston, Shirley (Tom) Keepers, Port Charlotte, Florida, Patty (Dave) Parrish, Minneapolis, Minnesota, Karen (Dick) Wagner, Plover, Donna (Jack) Jinkins, Montfort, Jackie (Fred) Masbruch, McFarland, Jeff (Becky) Allen, Livingston, and Dan (Jill) Allen, Livingston; 21 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren; a brother, Don (Lenice) Allen, Platteville; three sisters, Emmeline Brun, Livingston, Dorothy (Homer) Harris, La Crosse, and Ruth (Clayton) Weittenhiller, Platteville; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Walt; and a great-grandson. Beglinger, James E.
MADISON - James E. Beglinger, age 79, of Madison, passed away peacefully at Waunakee Manor assisted living home on Monday, June 19, 2000. He was born on July 14, 1920, in Madison where he was a lifelong resident. He was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church. He worked for the University of Wisconsin Mason Department as a supervisor for more than 25 years until his retirement in 1986. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and family was his priority. He is survived by four children, James R. (Linda) Beglinger of Madison, Kathy (Robert) Austin of Greenfield, Cheryl (Glen) Hermanson of Monona, and Steven (Sue) Beglinger of Middleton; a brother, Otto (Rita) Beglinger of Brookfield; a sister, Evelyn Butler of Madison; 10 grandchildren, Robert, Tim (Michelle) and Sara Beglinger, Robert (Kathy) and Craig Austin, Kevin, Tari and Eric Hermanson, and Scott and Stephanie Beglinger; three great-grandchildren, Alex, Kayli and Karisa; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Donna; a brother, Ray; and a sister, Kathryn. Funeral services will be held at ST. PETER CATHOLIC CHURCH, 5001 N. Beirl, Carol Jean (Ring)
ROCKFORD, ILLINOIS/MADISON - Carol Jean (Ring) Beirl, age 70, died at Rockford Memorial Hospital on Friday, June 16, 2000, surrounded by her loving children. She was born in Madison on July 15, 1929, the daughter of Agnes (Ostrander) and Louis Ring. She was a graduate of Madison East High School and Madison Business College. Carol was married
to James Beirl on August 13, 1949, in Madison. Carol is survived by six children, Michael (Diane) of Wisconsin Rapids, Patricia (Russ) Mitchell of Rockford, Illinois, James (Kim) of Beloit, Matthew of Washington, D.C., Mary (Dan) McLaughlin of Clarkston, Washington, and Teresa of Enterprise, Oregon; 11 grandchildren; a brother, Donald (Pat) Ring of McFarland; and a special cousin, Kathleen (Ostrander) Jakel of Madison. Carol was a very creative and loving person. She enjoyed writing music, poetry and prose. She was a free spirit in life and will be deeply missed. Hanson, Edwin H.
EDGERTON - Edwin H. Hanson, age 89, of Edgerton, died on Sunday, June 18, 2000, at Skaalen Home in Stoughton. Edwin was born in Christiana Township in Dane County, on May 20, 1911, the son of Ole and Nikolena (Rognstad) Hanson. Edwin was united in marriage to Helen Fuller on May 25, 1935, at First Lutheran Church in Janesville, and Edwin and Helen had celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on May 21, 2000, with a family gathering in Cambridge. Edwin was baptized at the First East Koshkonong Lutheran Church in July 1911, was confirmed there by the Rev. Olaf Borge on August 2, 1925, and had been an active, lifelong member of the church. Edwin had attended Edgerton High School and had farmed on the family farm for 75 years in Albion Township. He loved farming, and when he could no longer drive the tractor and do the field work, his hobby was to mow the big yard and keep things neat on the property. He was a member of the Koshkonong Prairie Historical Society, a former director of the Edgerton Farmers Warehouse, and had served as the president of the Albion Prairie School Board. Edwin's survivors include his wife of 65 years, Helen of Edgerton; his son, Curtis E. (Linda) Hanson of Columbus; his daughter, Carol (Roger) Rohde of Madison; five grandchildren, Scott (Lynn) Rohde, Lisa Rohde, Shelley Rohde, Brian (Erin) Hanson, and Christine Hanson; four great-grandchildren, Brooke and Colton Rohde, Gage DeNure, and Hannah Hanson. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Roger Allen Hanson; and four sisters, Alma Heller, Signe Butler, Nora Olia and Myrtle Amundson. Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, June 22, 2000, at the EAST KOSHKONONG LUTHERAN CHURCH at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow services at the church cemetery. Herson, Richard Joseph
COTTAGE GROVE - Richard Joseph Herson, age 72, was granted eternal peace on Sunday, June 18, 2000, at his home, surrounded by his loving family. He had been in ill health for almost 22 years, with the last two years being a struggle. He was very courageous through it all. He was always in good humor - almost to the end. He was born in Menominee, Michigan, on February 18, 1928, the son of the late Benjamin and Mary (Boehm) Herson. He attended Lincoln, Grant and Evergreen schools in Michigan, graduating from Menominee High School. He sailed the Great Lakes from 1943 until 1945, then joined the United States Navy in May 1945, serving in the South Pacific through May 1948. He was awarded the Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal and World War II Victory Medal. After his discharge, he worked for Menominee County as an ambulance driver. Rich worked for 30 years at Addressograph Multigraph until becoming disabled from a severe heart attack in 1978. He was a charter member of the Deer-Grove EMS and joined the Cottage Grove Lions Club in November 1976, serving as a cabinet secretary. Rich received the Melvin Jones Award and just recently was a recipient of a Lifetime Membership Award. He also served as a clerk of court for judges Darold Murray and Roger Bean. His life was devoted to his family and the community. He is survived by his wife, Georgiana (Jo) Herson; sons, William (Mary) Miller, Rothschild, Wisconsin, Daniel Miller, Wausau, and Rusty (Janice) Miller, Cottage Grove; a daughter, Mary (Randy) Endres, Deerfield; nine grandchildren, Kelli, Peter, Terry, Raechel, Sarah, Emily, Robert, Early and Pace; three brothers, Ray (Glenn), Ken (Nancy) and Don (Sally); and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Floyd. Funeral services will be held at HOPE LUTHERAN CHURCH, 3702 County Road AB, at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 21, 2000, with the Rev. Glenn Zimbelman presiding. Military rites will be conducted by the Madison Area Veterans Firing Squad following the service. Burial will take place later in Riverside cemetery in Menominee, Michigan. Friends may call on Tuesday, June 20, 2000, at GUNDERSON FUNERLA HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday.
