A Memorial Service will be held at the Holly Funeral
Home in Wild Rose on Monday, August 18, 2008 at 2:00
PM.
Visitation will be held on Monday, from 1 PM
until the time of service at the funeral home.
Kathleen Ann Husmann ( Kempf ) age 30, passed away
unexpectedly in a tragic car accident on August
2nd 2008 in Laramie, Wy.
She is survived by her 3
wonderful children Jesse Kempf, Amber Palmer &
David Husmann Jr., her parents JR Peterson & Judy
Kempf, 2 sisters Christa Clark (Kempf), Kim
Doemel, 2 brothers Chris Doemel & Tony Doemel, 4
nieces & 6 nephews, her loving boyfriend Michael
Glass & numerous family & friends. She enjoyed
fishing, arts & crafts, country music, cartoons,
and running her own business.
She was a very
dedicated, loving, responsible, forgiving,
understanding & tolerant person.
She enjoyed designing her own crafts for her children.
Her favorite designs involved Tinkerbell or roses &
could make you smile at the drop of a dime and
when you were having a bad day she would have you
laughing in no time.
Her favorite phrase was (Even
tho today might be hard, always smile & keep your
chin up because it will only get better!) She will
be in our hearts forever & missed deeply.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Holly Funeral
Home in Wild Rose on Monday, August 18, 2008 at
2:00 PM.
Visitation will be held on Monday, from
1 PM until the time of service at the funeral
home.
Philip H. Voights

Funeral Service will be held at First Assembly of
God Church in Waupaca at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday,
August 16th, with Reverend Bob Bohn officiating.
Interment with full Military Honors will be in the
Spencer Lake Memorial Park in the Town Lind, Waupaca
County, Wisconsin. Visitation will be held Saturday
9-11 A.M. at First Assembly of God Church.
Mr. Philip H. Voights, age 85, of King, Wisconsin,
formerly of Kaukauna, passed away Tuesday, August
12th, 2008 at the Wisconsin Veterans
Home-MacArthur Hall, King, Wisconsin. Mr. Voights
was born in Baraboo, Wisconsin on December 12,
1922, he was the son of the late August and Flora
Mae (Reichard) Voights. On Feb 1st, 1947, he
married
Kathryn J. Land in Kaukauna. He was a
member of First Assembly of God Church in Kaukauna
and Appleton. Phil served in the United States
Army
during World War II. He worked as a Lab
Technician for Combined Locks Pulp and Paper Mill
for over 38 years. Phil served as Union President
for USW Local 2-0144 for 10 years. He enjoyed,
fishing and camping trips with his family to
California, New Mexico, Florida, Pennsylvania and
Washington DC.
He is survived by his Wife of 61 years; Kathryn
Voights, Kaukauna; Daughters: Mary (Dick)
Forseth, Waupaca; Linda (Keith) Riehl, Waupaca;
Janette (Darnel) Laabs, Hortonville; Sons:
Philip (Marysue) Voights Jr., Waupaca; Conrad
Voights, Cloveis, New Mexico; David (Wendy)
Voights, Kaukauna; Daniel (Betty) Voights, Austin,
Texas; Sister: Leota Maisch, West Hills,
California. He is also survived by Twenty One
Grandchildren and Nine Great Grandchildren.
Philip was preceded in death by a Daughter:
Barbara Kirce, Brothers: Herman & Paul Voights.
He is further survived by nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service will be held at First Assembly of
God Church in Waupaca at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday,
August 16th, with Reverend Bob Bohn officiating.

Waupaca County, WI, on Friday, August 15, 2008 at
11:00 AM, with the Reverend Dean Wheeler,
officiating. The Jungers-Holly Funeral Home of
Amherst, WI is assisting the family with
arrangements.
Richard Wayne McConnell
Stevens Point, WI
Age 68 – died on Monday, August 11, 2008 at his
residence. He was born on February 11, 1940 in
Chicago, IL, a son of the late William and Effie
(Lawrence) McConnell.
Richard is survived by his brothers; Russell (
Donna) McConnell of Marshfield, and Rev. Robert J.
(Susan) McConnell of Newark, DE.
Richard had been honorably discharged from the
U.S. Air Force.
A private graveside service will be held at the

Brian Belongia, celebrant. Interment will be in the
St. Mary Magdalene Catholic cemetery in Waupaca.
Friends may call at the Holly Funeral Home in
Waupaca on Wednesday evening from 4:00 – 7:00 PM,
and at the church on Thursday morning from 10:00 –
11:00 AM. A Rosary Service will be held on Wednesday
evening at 7:00 PM at the Holly Funeral Home. The
Holly Funeral Home of Waupaca, WI is assisting the
family with arrangements.
Elizabeth “Betty” Bemis
Waupaca, WI
Elizabeth “Betty” Bemis (nee Knaapen), 82, passed
away on August
17, 2008 due to complications from a stroke.
Betty was born on January 18, 1926 in Algoma, WI, the daughter of Joseph
and Johanna (Gloudemann) Knaapen. She married
Floyd C. Bemis on January 2, 1950 in Sturgeon Bay,
WI. He preceded her in death on February 24,
2004.
Surviving relatives include her eight children:
Patricia (John) Ross, Margaret (Douglas) DeMond,
Michael (Shauna) Bemis, Jeffrey (Diane) Bemis,
Peter (Deborah) Bemis, Janet (Mitchell) Bergen,
John (Christie) Bemis, and Timothy Jill) Bemis.
Betty doted on her 32 grandchildren and 14 great
grandchildren: Michael (Denise) DeMond, Jonathon
(Jamie) DeMond, Bethany (Ross) Hacker, Maggie
(Mark) VanderLee, Scott Ross,
Jeffrey (Patty) Ross, Tony Ross, Katy Ross,
Marcie (Dan) Rauls, Ben (Lauren) Bemis, Joe Bemis,
Tom Bemis, Callie Bemis, Kate Bemis, Leah Bemis,
Kayla Bemis, Megan Bemis, Jenna (Tom) Ziemer, Kyle
Bemis, Michelle Bergen, Danielle Bergen, Aaron
(Mindy) Pankow, Max Bergen, Emma Bemis, Johanna
Bemis, Seth Bemis, Lucas Gause, Maya Bemis, Paul
Bemis, Jolyn Bemis, Jamie Bemis, Matthew Bemis,
Kyle Ross, Alexa Ross, Aubrey Ross, Brandon Ross,
Jacob Rauls, Tyler Rauls, Violet Hacker, Annabelle
Hacker, Joe DeMond, Jack DeMond, Jamie Drake,
Matthew Olk, Caleb DeMond and most recently,
Elizabeth VanderLee. Betty is also survived by two
sisters; Pal (Mike) Scahill of South Carolina and
Marie (Glenn) Ehnert of Milwaukee, WI. She was
preceded in death by her devoted husband; Floyd,
her parents, two brothers; Jim and Bill Knaapen,
and two sisters; Kate Hurd and Rica Antoine.
Betty lived in Sturgeon Bay for many years. She
loved Lake Michigan and entertained her
grandchildren with the stories of her youth there.
An artist, Betty’s favorite subject was nature,
and she created beautiful scenes of water, sky,
rocks, and trees. Betty appreciated the beauty in
all things and in all people. She lived her life
in color, and was happy to spend hours laughing
with her children. Betty had a quick wit and an
open heart. She treated everyone she encountered
as a friend and charmed everyone in her path. She
will be remembered dearly and sorely missed.
A funeral mass will be held at the St. Mary
Magdalene Catholic Church in Waupaca, WI on
Thursday, August 21, 2008 at 11:00 AM, with Father
