Lorna R. Loss

Waupaca, WI

Age 95 – died on Monday, January 7, 2008 at
Bethany Pines in Waupaca, WI. She was born on
October 22, 1912 in the Township of Amherst,
Portage County, WI, a daughter of Henry and
Caroline (Bestul) Quinn. She married George J.
Loss on June 17, 1950 in Nelsonville, WI. He
preceded her in death on June 6, 2003.

Lorna is survived by a son: Dean (Kathy) Loss of
Evans, GA, two daughters: Gail (Tom) Stout of
Stevens Point, WI, and Kay Dickison of Inver Grove
Heights, MN, seven grandchildren: Matt Loss, April
(Alan) Rogers, Caroline Loss, Shari Stout, Ryan
Stout, Kyle Dickison, and Ben Dickison. She is
further survived by many nieces, nephews, other
relatives, and friends. She was preceded in death
by her parents: Henry and Caroline Loss, three
brothers: Clay, Reuben, and Harry Quinn, and four
sisters: Stella Stoltenberg, Ella Johnson, Gleora
Salter, and Bernice Quinn.

Lorna had been a teacher for 20 years and had
taught in rural schools in both Portage and
Waupaca Counties. She had also taught school in
the Village of Amherst. She was a member of the
Trinity Lutheran Church in New London and had been
a Sunday school teacher for many years. She had
also been a member of the Rebecca Circle. Prior to
moving to the New London area, she had been an
active member of the Peace Lutheran Church in
Amherst. She had also been a caregiver for three
very fortunate children, her husband, her mother,
her mother-in-law, and many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at the Trinity
Lutheran Church in New London, WI on Wednesday,
January 9, 2008 at 11:00 AM, with the Reverend
William Sutlief, officiating. Interment will be in
the Ostrander cemetery, Township of Mukwa, Waupaca
County, WI. Friends may call at the Holly Funeral
Home in Waupaca, WI on Tuesday evening from 5:00 –
7:00 PM, and at the church in New London on
Wednesday morning from 10:00 AM until the time of
the service. In lieu of flowers memorials can be
directed to the Trinity Lutheran Church of New
London, or to Bethany Home of Waupaca in memory of
Lorna R. Loss. The Holly Funeral Home of Waupaca,
WI is assisting the family with arrangements.

Daniel L. Swenson

Residence: Manawa

January 19, 1954 - January 7, 2008
Services:

It was Dan's wishes that cremation take place and
there be a Graveside service on Friday at 1 PM at
St. James Catholic cemetery in Amherst. A memorial
gathering will take place following the cemetery
service.

Daniel L. Swenson, age 53, of Manawa, WI, passed
away Monday, January 7, 2008 at his residence.
Daniel was born in Iola, WI on January 19, 1954,
the son of John and Mary (Thompson) Swenson. On
October 20, 1995, Daniel married Ruth Fischer in
Chicago and she preceded him in death on Feb. 28,
2005.

Dan is survived by his daughters: Cynthia
Swenson; Alanna Swenson & Dianna Swenson all of
Chicago; six grandchildren, Cody, Emily, Kashe,
Daevion, Desire and Isaiah; his mother: Mary
Swenson of Waupaca; his brothers: Charles (Connie)
Westphal of New London; Tom (Ann Marie)
Trzebiatowski of Palatine, IL; David (Gina)
Trzebiatowski of Waupaca and John (Jenni) Swenson
Jr. of New London and his sisters: Mary Jane
(Rollie) Ritchie of Appleton; Debra Swenson of
Scandinavia and Darlene Dohm of Weyauwega. Dan
was also preceded in death by his father, John.

Irene J. Davidson

Home-Wild Rose at 12 Noon on Wednesday June 11th,
with RoseMary Salzman officiating. Visitation will
be held from 11-12 P.M. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Irene J. Davidson, age 71, of Wild Rose,
Wisconsin, passed away Thursday, June 5th, 2008 at
her residence. Mrs. Davidson was born in
Milwaukee on August 24, 1936, she was the
daughter of the late John and Eleanor (Wheir)
Fuchs.

On Sept 24, 1955, she married Daniel R. Davidson
in Milwaukee. Irene enjoyed baking and sewing and
spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by Husband: Dan Davidson, Wild
Rose, WI; Son: Jeffrey Davidson, Big Flats, WI;
Daughter: Linda Lone, Wild Rose; Grandson:
Nicholas Davidson; Granddaughters: Melissa &
Amanda Lone; Great Grandson: Nicholas Davidson
Jr. She was preceded in death by her Parents John
& Eleanor Fuchs, Brothers: Fred, Al and Bill
and Sisters: Rosetta, Lillian, Harriet,
Clementine and Grandson: Benjamin Davidson.

Funeral Service will be held at Holly Funeral
Home-Wild Rose at 12 Noon on Wednesday June 11th,
with RoseMary Salzman officiating. Visitation
will be held from 11-12 P.M. at the funeral home.

Joan M. Benedum

The Lakes Church in Waupaca, WI on Thursday, June
12, 2008 at 4:00 PM, with the Rev. David Martin,
officiating. Friends may call at the Holly Funeral
Home in Waupaca, WI on Wednesday evening from 4:00 –
7:00 PM, and at the church on Thursday, one hour
prior to the time of the service. A visitation will
also be held at the Schoenfeld Funeral Home in
Beloit, WI on Friday, June 13, 2008 from 3:30 – 7:00
PM. An Eastern Star service will be held at 7:00 PM
Friday evening at the Schoenfeld Funeral Home. A
committal service will be held on Saturday, June 14,
2008 at 10:00 AM at the Blue River cemetery in Blue
River, WI. A memorial has been established to the
Humane Society of Waupaca County in memory of Joan
Benedum. The Holly Funeral Home of Waupaca, WI is
assisting the family with arrangements.

Joan M. (Logan) Benedum

Waupaca, WI

Age 77 – died on Friday, June 6, 2008 at the
Evergreen Retirement Community in Oshkosh, WI. She
was born on June 19, 1930 in Blue River, WI, the
daughter of Harold A. and Thelma (Godager) Logan.
She married Donald R. Benedum on January 22, 1949
in Waupaca, WI. He preceded her in death earlier
this year on March 16, 2008.

Joan is survived by her daughters; Sandra Sue
(Dan) Karns of Oshkosh, WI, and Cathy Jo (Gary)
Jansen of Waukesha, WI, eight grandchildren;
Virgil Myers, Thalia (Tim) Kloehn, Marsha (Jake)
Schneider, Alex Karns, Staci Karns, Mathew Jansen,
and twins; Marissa and Meghen Jansen, and two
great grandchildren; Autumn Kloehn and Caleb
Schneider. She is further survived by a nephew and
four cousins She was preceded in death by her
husband; Don, her parents,

and a sister; Beth Kantak.

Joan was a graduate of the Waupaca High School,
Class of 1948. Following her graduation, she was
employed by the Waupaca County Highway Dept. for
five years. After her marriage to Don in 1949,
they moved to Beloit, WI. While living in Beloit
they were partners in the Quigley-Smart Company
for 39 years. Joan worked as a Library Aide for
the Beloit Turner School District for 20 years.
She was a past Matron, and 50 year member of the
Order of The Eastern Star Lodge #215 of Beloit.
She was a past mother advisor, and 12 year board
member of the Rainbow Girls. She was also a holder
of the Grand Cross of Colors. Joan was a member of
the Shepherd of The Lakes Church of Waupaca,
WI.

A funeral service will be held at the Shepherd of

12, 2008 at 4:00 PM, with the Rev. David Martin,
officiating. Friends may call at the Holly Funeral
Home in Waupaca, WI on Wednesday evening from 4:00
– 7:00 PM, and at the church on Thursday, one hour
prior to the time of the service. A visitation
will also be held at the Schoenfeld Funeral Home
in Beloit, WI on Friday, June 13, 2008 from 3:30 –

7:00 PM Friday evening at the Schoenfeld Funeral
Home. A committal service will be held on

David Kopitzke

Residence: Oshkosh, WI

December 1, 1931 - June 9, 2008
Services:

Funeral Service will be on Thursday, June 12 at 11
AM at Trinity Lutheran Church in Borth with Rev.
Brian Beardsley, officiating. Burial will be in the
Brushville cemetery, Town of Bloomfield. Visitation
will be on Weds. eve from 4 to 7 PM at Holly Funeral
Home in Poy Sippi and on Thursday morning from 10 AM
until the time of services at the church.

David E. Kopitzke, age 76, of Poy Sippi, WI ,
passed away Monday, June 9, 2008 at Northpoint
Medical & Rehab. Center in Oshkosh. David was
born in Town of Poy Sippi on December 1, 1931, the
son of the late John and Stella (Jensen) Kopitzke.
He worked at Speed Queen in Omro and Ripon for 43
years. He married Donna Chamberlin on Feb. 15,
1958 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Berlin.
David was an outdoors man who enjoyed hunting and
fishing, especially with his family and feeding
and watching birds. Church was very important to
David, he is a member of Trinity Lutheran Church
in Borth and a past president of the congregation.
David is survived by his wife: Donna Kopitzke of
Berlin; his children: Debra (Donald) Clausen of
Ripon; Douglas (Robin) Kopitzke of Berlin and
Diana (Dennis) Hunt of Oshkosh, five grandsons,
John, Jason & David Kopitzke and Chris & Rick
Clausen and three great grandchildren, Nicole,
Austin and Devon.. He was preceded in death by
his parents and a brother, Gordon Kopitzke.
Funeral Service will be on Thursday, June 12 at 11
AM at Trinity Lutheran Church in Borth with Rev.
Brian Beardsley, officiating. Burial will be in
the Brushville cemetery, Town of Bloomfield.
Visitation will be on Weds. eve from 4 to 7 PM at
Holly Funeral Home in Poy Sippi and on Thursday
morning from 10 AM until the time of services at
the church.

The family would like to extend a special Thank
You to Northpoint Medical & Rehab. Center and all
of the employees on Hall 1 for their kind and
compassionate care.

at 11:00 AM at the First Assembly of God Church in
Waupaca, WI. Reverend Bob Bohn will officiate. A
visitation will be held from 9:00 – 11:00 AM at the
church on Saturday. Burial will be at Spencer Lake
Memorial Park in the Town of Lind. The Holly
Funeral Home of Waupaca is assisting the family with
arrangements.
