Rogers, John Tuesday, 22 Apr 2003
John Thomas Rogers, 75, a resident of Port Orchard, died April 22, 2003, at Ridgemont Terrace.
He was born on July 14, 1927 in Belmont, N.C. to Ada (Connell) Rogers.
He married
Louise (Johnson) Rogers on January 15, 1952, in Las Vegas, Nev.
He graduated from Berry Hill High School in Belmont and from North Carolina State University in Raleigh.
He worked as an aeronautics engineer for Boeing Co., for 31 years, retiring in 1989. He enjoyed golfing, fishing and gardening. He was a Presbyterian.
He is survived by his wife Louise Rogers; son Dale E. Rogers and his wife Marci of Puyallup; daughter Carol Overland and her husband Larry of Sumner; brother Robert Rogers and his wife Peggy of Charlotte, N.C.; and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his brothers Harry, Eddy, Cloyce and Walter Rogers.
A private funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on April 28 at Rill Chapel’s Life Tribute Center followed by interment at Tahoma National cemetery at 12:30 p.m.
Cruz, Mary Anna Sunday, 20 Apr 2003
Mary Anna Pungtod Cruz, 30, a resident of Port Orchard, died April 20, 2003, at Harrison Memorial Hospital.
She was born on Feb. 16, 1973, in Angeles City in the Philippines.
She graduated from Bremerton High School in 1993 and was an entrepreneur.
She enjoyed bowling, billiards, shopping, karaoke, traveling, football and basketball. She was a Catholic.
Rosary location will be every night at 8 p.m. until Sunday, April 27 at 3976 SE Conifer Park Dr. in Port Orchard.
A memorial service will be held Sunday at 4 p.m. at Rill Chapel’s Life Tribute Center.

Rood, Celia Sunday, 20 Apr 2003
Celia Ione (Hutchins) Rood, 81, a resident of Port Orchard, died April 20, 2003. She was born on June 18, 1921 in Ford, Wash. to Oliver and Iona (Derringer) Hutchins.
She married
Ivar Rood in June 1962 in Seattle. He preceded her in death in 1962. Her first husband, Ewald Stucky, preceded her in death in 1953.
She graduated from Monroe High School in Monroe in 1939 and worked as a booker for 22 years.
She retired in 1984.
She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and reading.
She was a pianist and church organist and also played organ for Purdy-Kerr Funeral Home in Monroe.
She was a Free Methodist.
She is survived by her son Theodore “Ted” Stucky and his wife Cheryl of Port Orchard; daughter Karen Stucky of Port Orchard; and her grandchild Charmaine Arredondo.
Arrangements were made by Rill Chapel’s Life Tribute Center.

Park, Dixie Friday, 18 Apr 2003
Dixie R. Park, 84, a resident of Port Orchard, died April 18, 2003. She was born on July 7, 1918 in Chehalis, Wash., to Fred and Annie (Sowards) Richard. She married
George Park in Portland, Ore. in 1967.
He preceded her in death in 1993.
She graduated from Chehalis High School in 1933.
She is survived by her son Jim Heay of Port Orchard; brother Tom Richard of Fairbanks, Alaska; sisters Doll Holtman of Centralia, and Marge Greer of Mossyrock; and three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her son Douglas Heay; sisters Katherine Smith, Wanda Jean Barrick and Mary Chipman; and brothers George Richard and Dick Richard.
A memorial service was held on Friday, April 25, at Rill Chapel’s Life Tribute Center. Arrangements were handled by Rill Chapel.
Winkler, Robert Friday, 18 Apr 2003
Robert Harold Winkler, 65, a resident of Port Orchard, died April 18, 2003, at Harrison Hospital in Bremerton. He was born on June 2, 1937, in Portland, Ore., to Harold and Lillian (Persna) Winkler.
He married
Judith Ann (Ernst) Winkler on Nov. 14, 1964.
He graduated from Roosevelt High School in Portland in 1955 and Highline Community College in Burien with an associates degree.
He served in the Air Force from 1955 to 1959. He worked for Lorillard for 15 years and was a sales and business executive at Brown & Williamson Tobacco Co. for 17 years. He retired in 1994.
He enjoyed golf, travel and woodworking. He was a member of St. Gabriel’s Catholic Church in Port Orchard.
He is survived by his wife Judith Winkler; mother Lillian Winkler of Portland, Ore.; daughters Lisa Elzig and husband Ron of Port Orchard and Jill Skitton and husband Stuart of Waterford, Mich.; and granddaughter Hanna Elzig.
A memorial service was held on Friday, April 25, at Rill Chapel’s Life Tribute Center.
Arrangements were made by Rill Chapel.

Kistner, Jack Thursday, 17 Apr 2003
Port Orchard resident Jack Kistner, 80, died April 17, 2003, at Ridgemont Terrace Nursing Home in Port Orchard.
He was born on Nov. 5, 1922, in Union Gap to Monica and Heronimous Kistner.
He married
Kathleen Blodgett in Vancouver, Wash.
He graduated St. Joseph’s Academy in Yakima in 1939, then worked as an iron and steelworker for 40 years before retiring in 1989.
He enjoyed woodworking and was a member of St. Gabriel’s Church.
He is survived by his wife, a Port Orchard resident; son Michael Kistner, of Antioch, Calif.; daughters Claudia Wilde, of Anchorage, Ak.; Patty Severson, of Bremerton; and Loretta Stuhr, of Woodbine, Iowa; sister Emily Pastro, of Seattle; and eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services at will be held at St. Gabriel’s Church, 1150 Mitchell Ave., Port Orchard, at 11 a.m., April 24. Cremation will be handled by the Kitsap Cremation and Burial Society.

Langlois, Billy Ray Thursday, 17 Apr 2003
Billy Ray Langlois, 86, a resident of Port Orchard, died April 17, 2003 at Port Orchard Care Center.
He was born in St. Maries, Idaho on July 14, 1916.
He is survived by his wife, Helen (Odden) Langlois. They married
in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho in 1993.
He served in the Navy in World War II and worked 12 years as a welder at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard.
He loved bowling and belonged to all three of the Hi-Joy Bowl’s senior leagues.
He is survived by his sons Casey Langlois and Bill Langlois, Jr., both of Lacey, Wash.; his daughters Mollie Kirkendall of Olympia and Mimi Roth of Lacey; also five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers.
Arrangements were handled by Rill Chapel’s Life Tribute Center.
Coffelt, Elaine A. Wednesday, 16 Apr 2003
Elaine A. Coffelt, 75, a resident of Port Orchard, died April 16, 2003, at Ridgemont Terrace.
She was born on April 7, 1928, in Council Bluffs, Iowa.
She enjoyed TOPS of Port Orchard, gardening and crafts, loved to quilt and belonged to the Port Orchard Quilter’s Club.
She is survived by her sons Alfred H. Coffelt and his wife Gloria of Port Orchard, and Charles F. Coffelt and his wife Carol of Hawarden, Iowa.; and five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her daughter Marjorie and sisters Arlene Peters and Sylvia Bailey.
Seamans, Glenna Eloise Monday, 14 Apr 2003
Glenna Eloise Seamans, 61, a resident of Port Orchard, died on April 14, 2003. She was born on Sept. 1, 1941 in Colorado Springs, Colo. to Raymond and Louise (DuFer) Hays.
She attended South Kitsap High School and married
Robert R. Seamans on April 27, 1959 in Belfair, Wash.
She was a supervisor with Kitsap County for 15 years. She enjoyed camping, bingo, crafts and loved her job.
She is survived by her husband Robert Seamans; sons James Seamans and his wife Julie of Port Orchard, Don Seamans also of Port Orchard and Bobby Seamans of Vancouver, Wash.; daughter Debbie Justianio of Port Orchard; brother LeRoy Hays of Colorado Springs, Colo.; sisters Phoebe Hibbard of Port Orchard, Sandy Garringer of Bremerton and Shirly Darling of Yuma, Ariz.; and 13 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 19, 2003, at 11 a.m. at Rill Chapel’s Life Tribute Center. Arrangements were made by Rill Chapel.
Fleck, Steven Tuesday, 24 Jun 2003
Steven H. Fleck Sr., 55, a resident of Port Orchard, died June 24, 2003.
He was born in Altoona, Pa., on July 15, 1947, to Harold and Dorothy (Daringer) Fleck.
He graduated from Altoona High School in 1965 and attended the University of Pennsylvania. He worked as a sheetmetal worker for 28 years.
He enjoyed riding his Harley.
He is survived by his wife Kathy (Cullum) Fleck of Port Orchard; his parents Harold and Dorothy Fleck of Altoona, Pa.; his sons Steven Fleck, Jr. and his wife Janet of Port Orchard, Joshua Fleck of Belfair and Mike Fleck and his wife Stephanie of Bellingham; daughter Shelby Miller and her husband Glenn of Belfair; sisters Molly McMann and her husband Dan, Ruth Yarrow and her husband Dan and Beth Delozier and her husband Matthew, all of Altoona; and grandchildren Taira Fleck, Courtney Fleck, Dakota Fleck, Ava May Fleck, Dean and Gregory Miller and Sophie Fleck.
There will be a private family gathering.
