Torrence, Martin Friday, 17 Jan 2003
Rev. Martin Torrence, 91, a resident of Port Orchard, died Jan. 17, 2003, at Ridgemont Terrace Conva-lescent Center.
He was born on June 18, 1911 at Dryden, Wash. to George and Mary Luella Peters Torrence. He married
Leone Canfield in 1946.
He attended schools in Puyallup and Oroville and Gridley, Calif. where he graduated from High School. He served in the Civilian Conservation Corps and also work-ed as a professional actor.
He graduated from Northwest Christian College in Eugene, Ore., in 1954 and became a minister.
He was pastor to churches in Payette and Kimberly, Idaho, and then at Port Orchard First Christ-ian Church until he retired in 1977.
He also served as interim pastor at Westpark Christian Church and First Christian Church in Brem-erton, retiring for the last time at age 81.
He was a past member of the board of trustees of Northwest Christian College, served as youth chairman of South Idaho Christian Churches, belonged to South Kitsap Ministerial Association and Bremerton Ministerial Association, was a former secretary of Port Orchard Kiwanis; and served on the Election Board. He was an avid fly fisherman and hunter and enjoyed hiking with church youth groups and singing.
He is survived by his wife Leone; son Steve of Port Orchard; daughters Teri Emmons and her husband Gene of Port Orchard and Paula Willems and her husband Greg of Bainbridge Island; and 3 grandchildren.

Brust, John Tuesday, 14 Jan 2003
John Francis Brust, 60, a resident of Port Orchard, died Jan. 14, 2003.
He was born on Sept. 25, 1942 in LaSalle, Ill. to John and Lucille (Kmetz) Brust.
He married
Mary (Beck) Brust in San Mateo, Calif. on Feb. 29, 1964.
He graduated from Gib-son High School in Gibson City in 1962 and served three years in the U.S. Navy.
He was an electrician at Hunters Point Naval Shipyard in San Mateo, Calif. He retired in 1997 as sa planner/estimator at PSNS after 33 years.
He enjoyed golf, bowling, snow skiing, fishing, gardening, camping and hunting and was involved in many bowling leagues.
He was a member of St. Gabriel Catholic Church.
He is survived by his wife Mary Brust; step-mother Helen JoAnne Brust of Brandenton, Fla.; sons John Eugene Brust and Christopher Scott Brust, both of Port Orchard; daughter Ruth Hunt of Port Orchard; brother Roger Brust of Lovington, Ill.; and four grandchildren.
Visitation will be at 12:30 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 20, 2003 at St. Gabriel, followed by a funeral service at 1:30 and interment at Sunset Lane cemetery.
Arrangements were handled by Pendleton-Gilchrist at Rill Chapel.
Robbings, Cecelia Friday, 10 Jan 2003
Cecelia “Cis” Robbings, 80, a resident of Port Orchard, died Jan. 10, 2003, at Bel-mont Terrace in Bremerton.
She was born in Har-row, England on April 10, 1922.
She had been married
to Basil Rob-bings for 61 years.
She was a wife and mother, loved knitting and sewing.
She is survived by her husband Basil Robbings; sons Roy Robbings of Tacoma, Derrick Robbings of Vancouver, Wash. and Brian Robbings of Anderson, Calif.; daughters Janet Clode of Soquel, Calif. and Linda Gregg of Port Orchard; and 14 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her son Allen and grandson Rob.
A private service will be held at the residence of Phill and Linda Gregg. Arrangements were handled by Pendleton-Gilchrist at Rill Chapel.
Dildine, Dorothy Friday, 10 Jan 2003
Dorothy M. Dildine, 89, a resident of Port Orchard, died Jan. 10, 2003 at Ridgemont Terrace Nursing Home. She was born Sept. 11, 1913 in Hampton, Neb. to Lloyd and Bertha (Collinson) Dory. She married
Elwin Dildine on July 19, 1947 in Shelton, Wash. He preceded her in death in 1992.
She graduated from Hampton, High School in Hampton, Neb. and from Beauty College in Grand Island, Neb.
She worked as a beautician in Port Orchard since 1943. She loved golf, traveling, yardwork, and was a member of Soroptimist, Lady Elks, VFW, Eagles and Daughters of the Nile.
She is survived by her brothers Allan Dory of Moses Lake and Donald Dory of Overland Park, Kan.
She was preceded in death by her brother Maurice and sisters Alice, Esther and Gladys.
Inurnment will be held at Sunset Lane cemetery.

Schwab, John Thursday, 09 Jan 2003
John D. Schwab, 63, a resident of Port Orchard, died Jan. 9, 2003.
He was born June 11, 1939, in Sanger, Calif. to John Peter and Hannah (Kelln) Schwab.
He served 20 years in the U.S. Navy. He served an apprentiship at PSNS and worked 20 years as a marine electrician. He retired in 1999.
He loved camping, boating, fishing, gardening and photography. He was a member of South Kitsap Soggy Sams Camping Club and was also known for his pie baking.
He is survived by his wife Mary Schwab; sons mike and wife Pam Schwab, John D., Jr. and wife Wendy Schwab, Eric and wife Teri Schwab, Dale Schwab and Sandy; stepsons David and Schelley Dyess, all of Kitsap County and stepson Chris and Heike Dyess of Virginia; stepdaughter Bobbi and Matt Smith of Kent; 15 grandchildren; and his former wife Joyce Schwab.
He was preceded in death by his sister Ester and brother Walter.
A memorial service will be held at Rill Chapel on Wednesday, Jan. 15 at 2 p.m.

Fugman, Dale Wednesday, 08 Jan 2003
Dale E. Fugman, 54, a resident of Port Orchard, died Jan. 8, 2003. He was born May 31, 1948 in Missoula, Mont. to Herb and Marge Fugman. He married
Tina (Scheberle) Fugman on Jan 12, 1991 in Port Orchard.
He graduated from West High School in Bremerton in 1968 and from Clover Park College in Tacoma, in 1996.
He served in the Air Force and was a laborer and owned his own car bodyshop. He retired in 1989.
He was vice president for underwater search and rescue for Kitsap County and ARC/remote control air plane. He was a member of Christian Life Center in Port Orchard.
He is survived by his wife Tina Fugman; parents Herb and Marge Fugman; sons Darren Fugman and Heath Sutherland, both of Port Orchard; daughters C. Michele Simdar and Jamie D. Sutherland, both of Belfair; brother John Edwards of Three Forks, Mont.; and 8 grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at Christian Life Center in Port Orchard at 1:30 on Jan. 14. Arrangements were handled by Kitsap Cremation & Burial Society.

Blair, Marjorie Monday, 06 Jan 2003
Marjorie Blair, 89, a resident of Bremerton, died Jan. 6, 2003, at Harrison Memorial Hospital.
She was born on April 6, 1913, in LaConnor to William and Pear (Osland) Bell.
She married
Richard S. Blair in Seattle on Jan. 21, 1940. He preceded her in death in 1997.
She graduated from Ballard High School in 1931 and graduated from Washington State University in 1935. She was a service representative for Pacific Northwest Bell Telephone Co. and a homemaker.
She is survived by her nephew and niece William and Susan Bell of Olalla and two great nieces.
She was preceded in death by her daughter Judith Ann Blair.
There will be a private funeral service and interment at Sunset Lane cemetery. Arrangements were handled by Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home at Rill Chapel.

Aldrich, Glen Monday, 06 Jan 2003
Glen Ellsworth Aldrich, 72, a resident of Port Orchard, died Jan. 6, 2003. He was born in Cedar Falls, Iowa on Oct. 13, 1930. He attended Cleveland and Franklin High Schools in Seattle.
He served in the Navy Air Corps and was discharged a veteran of the Korean Conflict.
He became a pattern maker for Morel Foundry in Seattle and managed a pattern shop at Pacific Car and Foundry in Renton, where he retired in 1990 and relocated to Port Orchard.
He was an avid steelhead fisherman and built his own drift boat.
He is survived by his wife Muriel; son Mark of Port Orchard; daughter Debbie Wilbur of Everett; brother Richard of Sea-Tac; stepsons Cory and Kevin Riley; stepdaughter Dee; two nieces; and 5 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
A graveside srvice was held on Jan. 10, 2003, at Laurel Grove cemetery in Port Townsend.
Hutchison, Margaret Tuesday, 22 Apr 2003
Margaret Genevieve Hutchison, 68, a resident of Port Orchard, died on April 22, 2003.
She was born on June 13, 1934, in San Francisco, Calif., to George and Genevieve (King) Rainey.
She married
Glen Hutchison on Aug. 13, 1955, in Berkeley, Calif.
She graduated from Lincoln High School in San Francisco in 1952, attended the University of California at Berkeley and graduated from Sierra Nevada College at Incline Village, Nev., in 1992.
She was a homemaker, instructional aide and a teacher. She enjoyed traveling, cross-stitch, working with children and as a volunteer at church, public schools and the public library.
She was a member of Chapel Hill Presbyterian Church in Gig Harbor.
She is survived by her husband Glen Hutchison; son Andrew Hutchison and his wife Amy of Port Orchard; daughter Laura Christianson and her husband Robert of Snohomish; sister Geri Martin and her husband Bill of Shingletown, Calif.; and four grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 26, at 11 a.m. at Chapel Hill Presbyterian Church.
Arrangements were handled by Rill Chapel’s Life Tribute Center.
