Services: Thursday, June 17, 2 p.m., graveside service in Dungeness cemetery. The Rev. Bob Rhoads will officiate. Sequim Valley Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Anthony Pearson Cary
May 18, 2004 -- May 18, 2004
Anthony Pearson Cary was stillborn in Seattle.
Anthony was the son of Ronald C. Cary Jr. and Cheryl V. Pearson of Port Angeles.
Other survivors include grandparents Ronald Cary Sr. and Cynthia Pearson.
Services: Graveside committal was held Friday, May 21, at 1 p.m. in Mount Angeles Memorial Park, U.S. Highway 101 and Monroe Road, Port Angeles, with Chaplain Dennis Niva officiating. Harper-Ridgeview Funeral Chapel, Port Angeles, was in charge of arrangements.

William C. `Bill' Craven
May 22, 1930 -- May 22, 2004
Port Angeles resident William C. ``Bill" Craven died of respiratory failure on his 74th birthday.
He was born in Rochester, Pa., to Chester W. and Dorothy E. (Bruehl) Craven.
He served with the Army from 1949 to 1952, including the Korean War. He earned the Korean Service Medal with five bronze stars and Meritorious Unit Commendation.
Mr. Craven married
Donna M. Wilson on Sept. 7, 1953, in Westview, Pa.
The Cravens came to Washington state in 1955, and he worked as a building administrator at the Hanford nuclear site until his retirement in 1989.
They then moved to the North Olympic Peninsula.
One week after receiving his license as a private pilot, Mr. Craven flew cross-country with his son.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing bridge, and was a member of the Sequim Duplicate Bridge Club.
Survivors include his wife; son and daughter-in-law William D. and Sheri Craven of Richland; daughter and son-in-law Leslie G. and Neil Aiello of Pasco; brother and sister-in-law Robert and Carolyn Craven of Ellwood City, Pa.; sister Beverly Cole of New Brighton, Pa.; and five grandchildren.
Services: At his request, none. Olympic Cremation Association, Port Angeles, is in charge of arrangements.
Memorials: Charity of choice.
Gordon O. Edwards
Feb. 28, 1939 -- May 20, 2004
Gordon O. Edwards died in Port Angeles at age 65 following a long battle with cancer.
He was born in Kirbyville, Mo., to Edgar Loyd and Ruby A. (Hampton) Edwards.
While on active duty with the Army National Guard in 1957-1964, Mr. Edwards was an expert marksman who won many awards for his division.
He married
Billie E. (Hoff) Davidson in Port Angeles on April 15, 1977.
Mr. Edwards worked in Seattle for several years before making his home in Port Angeles. Until his death, he was a working partner with Aldergrove Construction.
In addition to being a member of the Port Angeles Builders Association, Mr. Edwards belonged to Port Angeles Chess Club and Grace Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife; son and daughter-in-law Daniel K. and Mari Davidson; daughters Kim (Edwards) Olson and Randi (Davidson) McDougall; daughters and sons-in-law Kelli (Edwards) and Dwayne Young and Kristi (Davidson) and Tim Lusk; parents Edgar and Ruby Edwards of Port Angeles; sister Oleta Roderick; sisters and brothers-in-law Gloria and Jim Fogelburg and Lola and Donald ``Don" Anderson; 16 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services: Saturday, May 29, 1 p.m., memorial and reception in Grace Baptist Church, 4221 Mount Angeles Road, Port Angeles. The Rev. David Stevenson will officiate.
Burial will be in Mount Angeles cemetery, U.S. Highway 101 and Monroe Road, Port Angeles. Harper-Ridgeview Funeral Chapel, Port Angeles, is in charge of arrangements.

PEGGY LOU McCARTY
Peggy Lou McCarty of Port Angeles died May 18, 2004, at the age of 45.
She was born September 8, 1958, to Bob and Thelma Long in Ohio.
She was married
October 30, 1998, to Dennis E. McCarty. They have lived in Port Angeles for the last four years.
She was a homemaker, seamstress and master cook. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting and writing letters. She loved sharing time with friends, rock hunting, shooting pool and playing Yahtzee.
She will be missed by all who knew her. She is working with God now.
Peggy always had a helping hand out and a smile on her face. A person like her only comes around every 100 years. Muddy, you were the best.
Peggy is survived by her husband, Dennis McCarty, stepson Sean McCarty, daughter Rachel Long, sisters Pam Sola, Sheila Ekstrum and Diana Wallace, nieces Mindy, Bess and Torri, nephews Ryan and Travis, brothers Bob Long and Jack Long, and grandchildren Alexis Cierra and Chase Daniels.

Rick David Johnston
Aug. 31, 1961 -- May 15, 2004
Sequim High School graduate Rick David Johnston of Roy died in Lakewood of a heart attack at age 42.
He was born in Puyallup to Tom Steven and Linda Kay (Martin) Johnston.
The Johnstons moved to Sequim in 1969, and he graduated from Sequim High School in 1981.
He is survived by his wife, the former Colleen Laughery, whom he married
in Tacoma four years ago; sons David and Justin and daughter Jessica Johnston, all of Puyallup; mother of Sequim; brothers Kevin Johnston of Puyallup and Randy and Nick Johnston, both of Sequim; sisters Teresa Schmidt of Haugerstown, Md., Amy Matney of Port Angeles, Jaime Johnston of Olympia and Julie Johnston of Sequim; and grandmother Dorothy Johnston of Tacoma.
His father died in 2003 and brother Tony in 1994. He was also preceded in death by grandparents Tom and Lois I. Martin and John Johnston.
Services: Visitation and memorial services were held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Puyallup with Ken Martin officiating. Funeral Alternatives, Sumner, was in charge of burial.
Robert E. Tucker
Nov. 6, 1951 -- May 21, 2004
Port Angeles resident Robert E. Tucker died of liver failure at age 52.
He was born in Hobbs, N.M., to Tommy Monroe and Johnnie May (Phelps) Tucker.
During the late 1960s and early 1970s, Mr. Tucker served with the Army in Germany.
He graduated from the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque as a respiratory therapist.
Mr. Tucker lived in Texas before coming to the North Olympic Peninsula, where he worked as a respiratory therapist in Port Angeles and, for the past 20 years, as a commercial fisherman out of Neah Bay.
Mr. Tucker also enjoyed sport fishing and other outdoor activities, including flying remote-control airplanes.
Mr. Tucker's survivors include his companion of 16 years, Sandy Downing of Port Angeles; sons Robby Young of Salem, Ore., and Shaun Young of Kent; brother Tommy Tucker of Polvadera, N.M.; and five grandchildren.
Services: At his request, none. Drennan-Ford Funeral Home, Port Angeles, is in charge of burial.

GENEVIEVE A. EDGINGTON
Nov. 17, 1921 - May 18, 2004
Genevieve A. (Jenny) Edgington passed away May 18, 2004, with her son, Jeff, at her side.
She was born in Washington Harbor to George and Minnie Grennan. In 1938, she married
Harold Richard Edgington; they were married
until 1987, when he passed away.
She grew up in Sequim and lived here most of her life.
With her husband, they were in the logging business and had numerous dairy farms. She was very honest and always said what was on her mind, as those who knew her could attest.
She was a great mother and a great cook in her time. She loved movies and watching the Mariners and the ice cream at Dairy Queen.
She will be greatly missed by her son, Jeff, daughter-in-law Karrie and, the apple of her eye, granddaughter Crystal, along with two other sons and two other daughters. She had three sisters and numerous nieces, nephews and grandchildren.
Although gone, she will never be forgotten.
At her request, there will be no services. All cards or letters may be sent to P.O. Box 2995, Sequim, WA 98382.

M. Merietta Bruseth
Nov. 11, 1919 -- May 18, 2004
Mamie Merietta Bruseth died of cancer in her Sequim home at age 84.
She was born in Gadsby, Alberta, to William John and Minnie Christina (French) Tyler and immigrated to the United States as a child.
Her March 1937 marriage to Clifford Raymond Prather was in Arlington. He died May 6, 1940.
She married
Julius Fritjof Bruseth in Arlington on Oct. 5, 1941. He died March 13, 1975.
Mrs. Bruseth, who worked as a beautician, graduated from beauty school in the top of her class.
She was a homemaker who enjoyed preserving and baking foods as well as crocheting and celebrating holidays with her family and friends. Dancing, nature trips and fishing were also among her interests.
Mrs. Bruseth was a member of King's Way Foursquare Church and Sons of Norway.
Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law Lyle and Peggy Prather and Bruce and Grace Bruseth; daughters and sons-in-law Ellen and Melvin Buhr, Jeanne and Larry Petersen, Melva and Charles Walser and Nora and Stan Smith; 18 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by brothers Elary, Oliver, Stanley and Donald; sisters Erma and Ama; and daughter-in-law Irene Prather.
Services: Saturday, May 22, 1 p.m., memorial and graveside service, with the Rev. Lyle Prather officiating, in Anderson cemetery, Stanwood.
A memorial and reception will be held Sunday, May 23, at 3:30 p.m. in King's Way Foursquare Church on Kitchen-Dick Road, Sequim. Shafer-Shipman Funeral Home, Marysville, is in charge of burial.

Lacy Nichole Sturtevant
Feb. 2, 1985 -- May 17, 2004
Port Angeles resident Lacy Nichole Sturtevant, daughter of Nick D. and Cynthia M. Sturtevant, died from asphyxia during a seizure. She was 19.
Services: Friday, May 21, 10 a.m. to noon, visitation in Harper-Ridgeview Funeral Chapel, 105 W. Fourth St., Port Angeles. Funeral at 1 p.m. in the same location. The Rev. Omer Vigoren will officiate. Burial will be in Ocean View cemetery, 3127 W. 18th St., Port Angeles.
PETER JAMES HAHN
Jan. 20, 1971 May 15, 2004
Peter was born in Port Angeles, Washington, to Larry Anthony Hahn of Carlsborg and Dawn O' McClanahan of Port Angeles.
He is survived by his parents, Harold Gallauher, sisters Carry Madison, Sherry Hull and Talitha Chambers, all of Port Angeles, and Melissa Hahn of Forks; and brothers-in-law Michael Madison and Thomas Hull, also of Port Angeles. He has three nieces and five nephews, all of Port Angeles.
Peter loved to make people laugh by telling his own jokes which he had accumulated into a book that he was trying to get published. He was very generous and friendly to all who knew him. He had a passion for reading his Bible and watching his extensive movie collection.
Peter was not a member of any church, but he had a close personal relationship with Christ, our Lord, and was a born-again Christian.
Peter will be missed greatly.
Services will be held Saturday, May 22, 2004, at 2 p.m. at Bethany Pentecostal Church, 508 S. Francis St., Port Angeles, officiated by Omer Vigoren. A potluck celebration of his life will be immediately following the service at Bethany.
