David F. Reynolds of Sequim died at Olympic Medical Center, Port Angeles, at age 83.
At his request there will be no service. Drennan-Ford Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Rolland Raymond Rogers
May 19, 1918 -- July 9, 2004
Quilcene resident Rolland Raymond Rogers died at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. He was 87.
He was born to George H. and Elsie L. (Addison) Rogers, in Bentley, Iowa, and was raised in Mountain View, Mo.
He was in the Marine Corps from 1937 to 1941.
He married
Toni Albro in San Diego, where he worked as a power plant operator for San Diego Gas & Electric Co. for 44 years.
The couple moved to Washington when he retired in 1983.
Mrs. Rogers died in 2000.
Mr. Rogers enjoyed photography, gardening, travel and politics.
Survivors include sons Charles Rogers of Visalia, Calif., Vin Johnsen of Gig Harbor and David Johnsen of Bainbridge Island; daughters Michele Rogers of Los Angeles, Becky Rogers of Spring Valley, Calif., and Pam Johnsen of Quilcene; 11 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and more than 20 great-great-grandchildren.
Services: Today, July 13, 3 p.m., graveside service at Quilcene cemetery, followed by a potluck at First Presbyterian Church, 294433 Highway 101, Quilcene. Kosec Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Emma Pearl Soine
Aug. 10, 1908 -- July 9, 2004
Sequim resident Emma Pearl Soine died at age 95.
She was born in Franklin, N.C.

Wilma C. `Billie' Wright
Sept. 22, 1914 -- July 7, 2004
Former Jefferson County resident Wilma C. ``Billie" Wright died in Kent, where she had lived for the past two years. She was 89.
She was born in Burlington, N.D., to Wilbur Henry and Clara (Larson) Hathaway.
The oldest of three daughters, she worked on the farm with her father until the family moved to Irondale in 1929.
She graduated from Chimacum High School in June 1932, and married
to Elwin Mark Wright of Chimacum on June 25 of the same year. They lived on the family farm until moving to Port Townsend, where their son and daughter were born.
The family then lived in Kitsap County until retiring to a cabin on Marrowstone Island, then to the home in Port Townsend in which they lived for more than 20 years.
Mrs. Wright was past regent of Daughters of the American Revolution, Admiralty Inlet Chapter, and was active in the genealogical society. She volunteered for the museum in Port Townsend and chaired tours of the Commanding Officer's House at Fort Warden State Park.
She belonged to First Presbyterian Church, which she was married
in 1932.
Survivors include son and daughter-in-law Wayne and Karen Wright of Lakeside, Calif.; daughter Elaine Renegar of Kent; four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Her husband died in January 1993, and two sisters, Jeanne Meacham Frye and Ruth Beryl Hall, are also deceased.
Services: Saturday, July 24, at noon, memorial in Greenwood cemetery, Chimacum. Wendell Ankeny will officiate. An open house at the cabin on Marrowstone Island, 398 Merry Road, will follow. Kosec Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Memorials: Charity of choice. The family requests no flowers.
Edgar `Bud' C. Hoffman
June 30, 1925 -- July 5, 2004
Edgar ``Bud" C. Hoffman died in Forks of lung cancer at the age of 79.
Mr. Hoffman was born in Port Angeles to Charles and Bertha (Liljedahl) Hoffman.
He married
Bonny J. Fuller in Centralia in 1978. She died Oct. 10, 1992. He had previously been married
to Edith J. Fuller, from whom he was divorced in 1976.
Mr. Hoffman served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, and later worked as a logger and shovel operator on the Olympic Peninsula.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, cutting firewood, feeding wild birds, and giving neighborhood children ice cream and after school snacks. He was known as ``Papa Bud" by the children he knew.
He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Survivors include son and daughter-in-law David Charles and Paulette Hoffman of Bremerton; daughter and son-in-law Terri and Dave Demorest of Forks; brother Donald Hoffman of Joyce; sisters Virginia Brown and Patricia Hoffman, both of Port Angeles; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by brother Wayne Hoffman and sister Rachel Gragg.

Irving L. Jensen
July 2, 1917 -- July 9, 2004
Irving ``Irv" L. Jensen of Port Angeles died at the age of 87.
He was born to John and Emma (Christiansen) Jensen in Chicago.

Wayne Carl Miller
Nov. 20, 1923 -- July 6, 2004
Sequim resident Wayne Carl Miller died of congestive heart failure at age 80.
He was born in Port Townsend to Vern Kenneth and Inez Mary (Carl) Miller.
From 1943-46, his duty with the Army Air Corps included the Pacific Theater at Luzon. Mr. Miller, was a sharpshooter with the M-1 and .03 rifles and was awarded five medals for his military contributions.
Mr. Miller then worked for Boeing in Seattle, advancing to flight engineer instructor and writer of many flight manuals during his 42 years with the company.
He enjoyed woodworking and photography.
Mr. Miller married
Betty Marcella Shawver on July 19, 1969. She died June 21, 1995.
Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law David W. and Anita Miller of Sequim and Jimmy and Joannie Weisenbarger of Graham; son Kenny Weisenbarger of Seattle; daughter Sandra Marie Ceronsky of Kent; daughter and son-in-law Nancy Lynn and Roger Phalen of Beaverton, Ore.; sisters Leverne Moch and Clarice Smart; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
His brother, Merlin Miller, preceded him in death.
Services: Today, July 11, noon to 5 p.m., and Monday, July 12, 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., visitation at Bonney Watson/Washington Memorial, 16445 International Boulevard, SeaTac.
Graveside memorial service at Bonney Watson/ Washington Memorial on Monday at 10:30 a.m., with the Rev. Mark Weatherford of Eastern Hills Community Church, Sequim, officiating.
A reception will follow.
Rolland Ray Rogers

Rolland Ray Rogers of Quilcene died in Seattle at age 86.
Mr. Rogers was born in Southern Missouri to George and Elsie (Addison) Rogers.
Services: Graveside services Tuesday, 3 p.m., at Quilcene cemetery. A potluck dinner will follow in the annex of First Presbyterian Church, 294433 Highway 101, Quilcene.
Henry J. Beier
Nov. 4, 1921 -- July 2, 2004
Port Angeles resident Henry J. Beier died of lung cancer at age 82.
He was born in Breslau, Germany, to Paul and Anna (Urban) Beier.
He married
Ursula R. Prehn on Jan. 24, 1948.
Mr. Beier lived in Los Angeles for 49 years, where he was a planner for the Los Angeles Metropolitan Transit District for 30 years.
Port Angeles has been his home the past three years.
Mr. Beier is survived by his wife, son Werner J. Beier, four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Lucyne Gladys Anthony
Dec. 28, 1914 -- July 1, 2004
Lucyne Gladys Anthony died in Sequim from respiratory arrest at age 89.
She was born in Lemoore, Calif., to Milton and Olive (Kurtz) Wright.
She lived in San Jose, Calif., from 1968 to 2001 and retired as a school bus driver for children with developmental disabilities.
Ms. Anthony then moved to Fifth Avenue Independent Living in Sequim before relocating to Dungeness Courte Alzheimer's Community.
Survivors include daughters Peggy L. Pattison of Sequim and Billie R. Durbin of Roseburg, Ore; six grandsons, nine great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Services: Private family services. Drennan-Ford Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Cremains will be buried at her mother's California gravesite.

Robert S. Burritt
Nov. 22, 1924 -- June 29, 2004
Robert S. Burritt died in his Port Angeles home at age 79.
He was born in Bellingham to Harry and Alma (Emerson) Burritt.
He served with the Army Air Corps during World War II.
Mr. Burritt married
Marilyn Lutjens in 1945.
He worked in auto body repair in Anchorage, Alaska, before returning to Washington.
His personal interests included rebuilding vintage aircraft, boating, fishing and gardening.
Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law Bob and Joanne Burritt of Tok, Alaska and Mark and Nancy Burritt of Bellevue; son Scott Burritt of Bellevue; daughter Susan Barnhart of Parker, Colo.; sister Mary Gottstein of Seattle; and three grandchildren.
His wife of 53 years died in 1998.

Harold Arthur Johnson
Oct. 27, 1924 -- July 4, 2004
Harold Arthur Johnson died of cancer in his Sequim home at age 79.
He was born in Hedley, Texas, to Arthur Montgomery and American Anne (Hester) Johnson.
He served in the Navy as a carpenter's mate with duty in San Diego and Gulfport, Miss.
Mr. Johnson worked as a carpenter in Oregon, California and Seattle before moving to Sequim. He was a member of the Carpenter's Union,
Following the death of his first wife, Evelyn, after 52 years of marriage, he wed Ruth Huber on July 13, 1997, in Sequim.
In addition to his wife, survivors include stepsons and stepdaughters-in-law Darwyn and Linda Stubblefield and Darryl and Louise Stubblefield, stepdaughter Cindy Thorstad, brother William Neil Johnson and sister Ruby Erminia Johnson.
