BARBARA JEAN WHITE
January 13, 1935-Nov, 8, 2004
What a wonderful world
I've spent 69½ years enjoying all the beauties of the world with my family and friends.
I've been blessed by wonderful parents who raised me in Longview, Texas.
I can remember my first memories there as a little girl: getting to take my shoes off on the first day of spring and go barefoot, and how the little lilac colored flowers tickled my toes.
I can even remember my favorite little toy, which was a little tin pump; when you pushed the handle up and down water would come out of the spout.
I remember many times on Sundays attending the Church of Christ, where we were all members, and afterwards going home to a big fried chicken dinner.
I remember playing in the open fields with all my cousins, aunts and uncles.
Both my mother and daddy came from a very large and extended family. My mother's side had 11 children and my daddy's side had seven.
I finished my high school years in Texas and California and dabbled in Business and Technology College in Long Beach, California. I never put my education to much use. I was more interested in making teddy bears, baskets and flower arrangements, and loving our beautiful greyhounds.
I got married
and had one daughter, Deborah Sue Rawlings, born in Long Beach, California. She is now living in Sequim. Her husband, Eric, is deceased.
As she grew older, she blessed me with a grandson, Chad H. Rawlings, who later married
Debbie Campbell. They now live in Goodyear, Arizona.
The Lord also blessed me with raising three other children who weren't mine, but I couldn't have loved them anymore if they were.
They were Harold Mansperger of Oregon, Darrell Mansperger of Pennsylvania and Cheryle Ann Stacy of California.
Cheryle Ann and her husband, Larry, have blessed me with two more grandchildren, Christy and David.
The biggest blessing was having my wonderful mother, Rose T. Moore, till the day of my death.
My dear Papa, Mance E. Moore, passed away in 1998.
Then, of course, the very love of my life was my husband, Roger A. White, whom I leave behind.
I want to thank all of my family and friends for the support they have given me this past year during my illness. All my relatives are too numerous to name, but I love them all.
I have had so many beautiful get-well cards, vases of beautiful flowers, hats for my bald head, a beautiful tin parrot from my friend, ``Buttercup, " and much support from my dear friend, Joyce Partain, who lives in Merced, California.
Since I have been sick for almost a year, it has been so terribly hard for my family; therefore I have requested that there be neither funeral nor graveside service. It has all been said and done; everyone has their own memories and I do not want to prolong the hurt.
May God bless each of you and thank you for making my life such a wonderful world.
The family would like you to join them for a ``celebration of life" on Sunday, November 14, 2004, 2:30 p.m., at Port Angeles Church of Christ, 1233 E. Front St., Port Angeles.
In lieu of flowers I would suggest donations be made to Hospice or your favorite charitable organization. I would be honored. Thank you.
