Arthur Bertram Leach

Arthur Bertram Leach, a 25-year resident of Sequim, died in Port Angeles at age 87.
He was born to George Charles and Sarah Ann (Barnard) Leach in Maidstone, England.
He served with the military and worked as a maintenance man for Weyerhaeuser.
Mr. Leach is survived by his wife, Norma.
Services: At his request, none. Olympic Cremation Association, Port Angeles, is in charge.
Gail Joene Ray
May 30, 1945 -- Jan. 13, 2005
Former Port Angeles resident Gail Joene Ray of Longview died of cancer in Hospice Care Center at age 59.
She was born in Salt Lake City to Roy D. and Clair (Inch) Moyer.
She graduated from Port Angeles High School.
Survivors include husband Gene Ray of Longview and sons Robert Christner Ray of Hillsboro, Ore.; Brett Ray of Clackamas, Ore.; and Michael Ray of Tacoma.
Also surviving are daughters Kathryn Cowell of Portland, Ore., and Carrie Harris of Aloha, Ore.; sisters Marsha Winterhouse of El Cajon, Calif., and Lois Crane of Salt Lake City; and 14 grandchildren.
Services: Funeral was held in Longview, with interment in Longview Memorial Park. Columbia Funeral Service, Longview, was in charge of arrangements.

James Maier Winn
Nov. 15, 1921 -- Jan. 18, 2005
Port Angeles resident James Maier Winn died at age 83.

RICHARD L. LOHMAN
May 24, 1926-Dec. 31, 2004
Richard L. Lohman of Sequim died of a heart attack on December 31, 2004.
He was born in Tacoma, Washington, and attended school there and in Bremerton until World War II, when he trained as a machinist at the Keyport Naval Station in Bangor.
He joined the Army in 1944 and sailed to Germany on the Sea Quail with the first of the German war prisoners being returned to their homeland.
He married
Grace Chamness in Everett, Washington, in 1945. They were divorced in 1970.
He married
Sharon Morris in Port Angeles in 1972. They resided in Sequim since 1984.
He studied photography and worked commercially in California for a time. He was employed as manager for the Camera Corner when he first came to Port Angeles, and later at ITT Rayonier for several years.
After retiring from there, he pursued his longtime interest in gems and worked for Diamond Gallery in Port Angeles, and for Al Tuttle at Cole's Jewelers in Sequim. He was still going to the store a few days a month and died while performing his duties there.
He was an avid fisherman, hunter, lover of music and food, gleaner and disburser of information on many subjects. His thirst for knowledge was never satisfied.
His survivors include his wife of 32 years, Sharon; daughters Linda Kaas and Suzanne Adkins, both of Port Angeles, and daughter Kerry Brame of Denver, Colorado.
He is also survived by three stepdaughters, Linda LeVan of Tempe, Arizona; Sandy Mathers of Kodiak, Alaska; and Tina Knight of Port Angeles; and two stepsons, David Morris of Auburn and Danny Morris of Puyallup.
The grandchildren from his first marriage are Dawnelle Craig, Seattle, and Holly Kaas, Port Angeles; Nicole Heu, Highline; Sarah Adkins, Port Angeles; Noelle Sanchez of Colorado; and Tanda of Colorado.
There were several great-grandchildren, also.
There were many grandchildren and great-grandchildren from his second family as well, and they were all a source of great pride and love.
A grandson, Jeremy Knight, died in 1975.
Memorial services were held January 6, 2005, at Calvary Chapel, Sequim.

Nora Marie Kilbourne
May 2, 1926 -- Jan. 5, 2005
Nora Marie Kilbourne died in her Sequim home at age 78.
She was born in Nampa, Idaho, to Donald G. and Clara O. (Hathaway) Hancock.
Mrs. Kilbourne moved to Sequim in 1985.
She was married
to Robert M. Kilbourne, who died Aug. 20, 1999.
Survivors include son Joe Kilbourne of Anchorage, Alaska; daughters Donna Wagoner of Wasilla, Alaska, Fran Rader of Sequim and Jeanne Hancock of Redding, Calif.; brothers Lucky Hancock and Earl Hancock, both of Clinton, Mont.; sister Pauline Goumaz of Spokane; 10 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, one sister and one great-granddaughter.

Donis W. `Tim' Megonigle

Port Townsend resident Donis W. ``Tim" Megonigle died in Port Angeles at age 65.
Mr. Megonigle was born in Independence, Iowa, to Kenneth and Gretchen (Hoaglen) Megonigle.
Mr. Megonigle enjoyed drawing, wood carving, and playing guitar.
Survivors include his wife, Melody, of Port Angeles; his mother; son Shane Megonigle; daughters and sons-in-law Shannon and Adam Campbell, Dawn and John Peters, and Cindy and Jeff Metz; daughters Leanna Megonigle and Terri Megonigle; brother Paul Megonigle; sisters Barbara Pero and Judy Megonigle; and nine grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by brother Byron Megonigle and a granddaughter.
Services: There will be a private ceremony.
Ethel A. Paulson Reavis

Port Angeles resident Ethel A. Paulson Reavis died in Seattle at age 97.

Edith Mildred Parris Reavis

Sequim resident Edith Mildred Parris Reavis died at age 87.
She was born to Ira and Mabel Mae (Macomb) Parris in Shawnee, Okla.
She married
Robert Lee Reavis in Shawnee in 1941.
A lifelong homemaker, Mrs. Reavis lived in Shawnee for 30 years; Ceres and Modesto, Calif., for 52 years; and Sequim for 1½ years.
Mrs. Reavis was a member of Church of God of the Evening Light.
Survivors include sons Bob Reavis of Sequim and Don Reavis of Turlock, Calif.; daughter Marquetta Reavis of San Diego; sisters Irene Belyeau and Lena Mae Parris, both of Oklahoma City, Lucille Lynch of Dallas, Texas; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Her husband died Nov. 18, 1997. She was also preceded in death by daughter Marilyn Ewell, brother Russell Parris and sisters Lorena Magnino and Helen Stiffler.
Services: Wednesday, Jan. 12, visitation from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Salas Bros. Mortuary, Modesto, Calif. Thursday, Jan. 13, funeral at 10:30 a.m., at Salas Bros. Mortuary preceding precede graveside committal in Ceres Memorial Park, 1801 E. Whitmore Road, Ceres, Calif.
A reception will follow at home of Michael and Pat Cousins, 3865 Roeding Road, Ceres, Calif.

William E. Sadler

William E. Sadler died at Olympic Medical Center in Port Angeles at age 89.
Mr. Sadler was born to James and Keary Evangeline (Keith) Sadler in Hopkinsville, Kentucky.
He married
Rosalie Rossin in 1939. She died in 1959.
He married
Edith Holland in Montrose, Colo., on Sept. 23, 1963.
Mr. Sadler was an auto body repairman and owned auto body shops in Michigan and New Mexico. He retired to Sequim in 1985.
Mr. Sadler enjoyed fishing, baseball, jewelry making and flying.
He attended Cornerstone Baptist Church and was a member of the Civil Air Patrol in Arizona and Nevada.
Survivors include his wife of Sequim; son William Sadler and daughter Jenada Goodwin, both of Texas; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by son Roy Sadler in 2000.
Services: Monday, Jan. 10, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., visitation at Sequim Valley Funeral Chapel. Tuesday, Jan. 11, graveside service at Sequim View cemetery.

Johanna Smith
June 12, 1940 -- Jan. 5, 2005
Forks resident Johanna Smith died at age 64.
She was born in Eisenach, Germany, to Joseph and Freida Bieber.
She married
Jim Smith in Germany in 1962.
She immigrated to the United States in 1963 and move to Forks in 1980.
Mrs. Smith enjoyed baby-sitting and crocheting, often giving handmade afghans as gifts.
Survivors include her husband of Forks; son and daughter-in-law Danny and Kristi Smith of Forks; one brother and two sisters, all in Germany; and one granddaughter.
