Dec. 3, 1963 -- Nov. 26, 2005
Forks resident Daniel Pervan Savov died following an illness at age 41.
He was born in Tacoma to Terry and Betty (Snodgrass) Savov.
Services: None at this time. Mount Olympus Funeral Home, Forks, is in charge of cremation.

Norma Jean Anderson
Dec. 13, 1927 -- Nov. 27, 2005
Norma Jean Anderson died in Olympic Care and Rehabilitation Center in Sequim of cancer. She was 77.
She was born in Kulm, N.D., to Edward and Alice Bertha Edith (Shuldiesz) Wolf.
She married David E. Anderson in 1963, in Minneapolis, where she was a legal secretary most of her life before retiring to Sequim.
Mrs. Anderson belonged to the Red Hat Society and Sequim Community Church. She enjoyed line dancing.
She is survived by sister Shirley A. Beasley of Des Moines.
Her husband died Dec. 23, 1998.
Services: To be announced. Drennan-Ford Funeral Home, Port Angeles, is in charge of arrangements.
Memorials: Sequim Community Church, 950 N. Fifth Ave., Sequim, WA 98382.

James Benton Campbell
May 30, 1937 -- Nov. 24, 2005
Sequim resident James Benton Campbell, former president of Forks Sand and Gravel, died in Bremerton of heart failure at age 68.
He was born in Sheridan, Wyo., to George Levon and Catherine Cora (Carey) Campbell, and graduated from Forks High School.
He was stationed in Marquette, Mich., while an airman first class in the Air Force.
Mr. Campbell was president of Forks Sand and Gravel until his retirement in 1993, after which he moved to Longview in 1994 and to Sequim in 1998.
He belonged to the American Bowling Association and was a charter member of the Forks Timber Museum.
Mr. Campbell's survivors include his wife, the former Mary Anne Stubbs, whom he married in Reno, Nev., on March 14, 1964.
He is also survived by son and daughter-in-law William J. and Crystal Campbell of Port Angeles; daughter Karen Marie Hoscher of Forks; father-in-law Carl E. Stubbs of Sequim; sisters Jean B. Klahn of Sequim, Mary E. Wallace of Langley and Goldie E. Southwood of Fairbanks, Alaska; and five grandchildren.
Services: Saturday, Dec. 3, celebration of life in First Congregational Church, 280 Spartan Ave., Forks. Sequim Valley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Memorials: Forks Timber Museum, P.O. Box 873 Forks, WA 98331; or Forks Little League.

Marjorie Louise DeWitt
Aug. 23, 1935 -- Nov. 27, 2005
Marjorie Louise DeWitt died of cancer in her Port Angeles home at age 70.
Born in Port Angeles, she was the daughter of William Stoval.
She married Robert J. Bird Sr., in Seattle on Nov. 30, 1955; they divorced in 1983.
She was a bookkeeper in Watsonville, Calif., most of her life, then retired to Port Angeles in 1990.
She married L.C. DeWitt in Port Angeles on May 2, 1991.
She lived for a short time on a ranch in Welty, Okla.
Mrs. DeWitt, who was a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, had personal interests that included reading her Bible, sightseeing on drives throughout the country, choosing health food and interior decorating.
In addition to her husband, survivors include son Ronald Bird of Port Angeles; stepson George DeWitt of Mill Creek; daughter and son-in-law Lynette and Billy Sumpter of Colcord, Okla.; daughter-in-law Tonia Bird of Port Angeles; stepdaughters Sue Moyer of Snohomish and Terri Sornsen of Milpitas, Calif.; brothers Jim Stoval of Friendship, Wis., and Glenn Stoval of Port Angeles; sisters Carol Keys of Port Angeles and Patty Quackenbush of Ferndale; and four grandchildren.
Mrs. DeWitt was preceded in death by son Robert Bird Jr.
Services: Saturday, Dec. 3, 2 p.m., memorial in Kingdom Hall, 1714 S. N St., Port Angeles. The eulogy will be given by Jim Hines.
Drennan-Ford Funeral Home, Port Angeles, is in charge of arrangements.
Memorials: Charity of choice. The family requests no flowers.

Frances Lillian Nelson
June 24, 1914 -- Nov. 22, 2005
Sequim homemaker Frances Lillian Nelson died in Olympic Medical Center of an intracerebral hemorrhage. She was 91.
She was born to John Rickles and Harriet Olive (Croxford) Hight in Seattle, where she studied at Cornish College of the Arts.
She married Robert Arthur Nelson on May 29, 1937, in Seattle.
Mrs. Nelson -- who lived in West Seattle, Port Angeles and Sequim -- was an accomplished artist, professional seamstress and master gardener.
She served as Clallam County Fair manager, florist and National Flower Show judge as well as a member of Port Angeles Garden Club, Sequim Valley Garden Club and Sequim Prairie Grange.
Mrs. Nelson's activities also included Sequim-Dungeness Valley Historical Society, Rainbow for Girls, Eastern Star, Tirzah Club and Daughters of the Nile.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law Robert and Donna Nelson; daughters and sons-in-law Susan J. and Richard Murakami, Judy A. and Roy Lidstrom-Carlson and Catherine and William Armacost; brother John Croxford Hight; 12 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Her husband died March 13, 1990.
Services: Sunday, Dec. 4, 2 p.m., memorial in Sequim Prairie Grange, 290 Macleay Road, Sequim. Robert Clark will officiate.
Sequim Valley Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Memorials: Sequim Prairie Grange Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 201, Sequim, WA 98382.

Ronald Albert Soderlind
Oct. 22, 1923 -- Nov. 21, 2005
Ronald Albert Soderlind died in Beaver of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. He was 82.
He was born in Twin Falls, Minn., to John and Myrtle (Green) Soderlind.
His marriage to Ellen Lasley ended with her death Aug. 4, 1982.
Janice Ethyl Babbit, whom he married in Beaver in August 1988, died in August 2004.
During World War II, Mr. Soderlind served in the Pacific Theater with the Navy and rose to petty officer second class
He attended trade school for diesel mechanics.
In addition to being a mechanic, Mr. Soderlind owned a construction company in Beaver and the Corner Store in Forks.
His hobbies included vintage warplanes and aircraft, and traveling throughout the country.
Survivors include son and daughter-in-law Ronald and Cheri Soderlind of Beaver; daughters and sons-in-law Virginia and Jay Pearson of Forks and Diana and Jayson Anderson of Joyce; and four grandchildren.
Services: None. Drennan-Ford Funeral Home, Port Angeles, is in charge.

Leonard M. Wright
March 12, 1920 -- Nov. 24, 2005
Port Angeles resident Leonard M. Wright died of heart failure at age 85.
He was born in Beloit, Wis., to Merrill and Winnie (Hamilton) Wright and attended Beloit Junior College.
He served with the Army in 1940-45 as a sergeant major of Company L, 128th Infantry Division, during World War II.
Mr. Wright married Virgie Leone Bessire on Oct. 19, 1946, in Rockton, Ill. She died April 5, 1989.
Before coming to the Peninsula, where he was a hotel owner/manager, Mr. Wright worked in the aerospace industry in Los Angeles, Sacramento, Calif., and Seattle.
He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, AMVETS, Elks and St. Matthew Lutheran Church.
Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law Robert M. and Alma Wright of Mount Air, Va., and Michael L. and Patti Wright of Choctaw, Okla.; daughter and son-in-law Suzan M. and Jef Powell III of Mechanicsville, Va.; and seven grandchildren.
Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by brothers Harvey, Howard and Leland Wright and sister Genieve Hilton.
Services: Today, Nov. 29, 2 p.m., memorial, with the Rev. P. Ritter officiating, at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 13th and Lincoln streets, Port Angeles.
Reception follows at 6:30 p.m. at Laurel Park Assisted Living, 1133 E. Park Ave., Port Angeles. Burial will be in Ocean View cemetery, 3127 W. 18th St., Port Angeles.
Harper-Ridgeview Funeral Chapel, Port Angeles, is in charge of arrangements.
Memorials: Port Angeles Senior Center, 328 E. Seventh St., Port Angeles, WA 98362. The family requests no flowers.

Charles Towslee
July 28, 1914 -- Nov. 26, 2005
Sequim resident Charles Towslee, who was born in Sedro-Woolley, died in Port Angeles at age 91.
Services: None. Harper-Ridgeview Funeral Chapel, Port Angeles, is in charge of arrangements.

Cadian Colbert `Ken' Hendricks Jr.
April 21, 1949 -- Nov. 22, 2005
Port Townsend resident Cadian Colbert ``Ken" Hendricks Jr., 56, died of injuries received in vehicle collision in Port Townsend.
Kosec Funeral Home, Port Townsend, coordinated cremation arrangements.

Erling Howard Halvorson
May 28, 1913 -- Nov. 19, 2005
Erling Howard Halvorson, 92, died in Port Angeles of age-related causes.
He was born in Wildrose, N.D., to Marius and Karen (Nielson) Halvorson.
He married Arlene Sabina Kettel on Nov. 10, 1936, in Plentywood, Mont.
Mr. Halvorson, a carpenter, made furniture and clocks in North Dakota and Arizona before moving to Port Angeles in 1945.
He was a member of Independent Bible Church and Sons of Norway.
Survivors include his wife of 69 years; son Darold Halvorson of Scottsdale, Ariz.; daughter Donna Halvorson of Port Angeles; sister Lenora Pederson of Wildrose, N.D.; three grandchildren five great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by brothers Conrad Halvorson and Leif Halvorson.
Services: Private memorial will be held at the family home with Anthony Saekor presiding. Burial of cremated remains will be in Mount Angeles Memorial Park, U.S. Highway 101 and Monroe Road, Port Angeles.
