RUSSELL COLLINS WARREN
Born June 11, 1891, disappeared July 3, 1929, and recovered May 31, 2004
THELMA ALIDA ``BLANCHE" RHONE WARREN
Born January 28, 1896-disappeared July 3, 1929
On July 3, 1929, Russell picked up his wife, Blanche, from a local Port Angeles hospital.
They loaded a new washing machine onto their 1927 Chevy and headed home to the Bogachiel River logging camp near Forks, Washington.
After an extended hospital stay, Blanche was excited about spending the Fourth of July holiday at the Sol Duc Hot Springs with her husband and two young sons, Frank and Charles.
For the next 73-plus years, they were lost to us all.
They left behind two young sons, Frank and Charles.
One of the secrets locked deep in the cold waters of Lake Crescent for more than 73-plus years has been conclusively revealed. Bones collected from the bottom of Lake Crescent in December of 2004 were confirmed through DNA testing by the FBI lab in Virginia to be those of Russell Collins Warren.
It is believed that Blanche is resting near the car, as her dress with a serpent rhinestone pin was brought to the surface by divers.
Russell and Blanche are remembered by their sons, Frank and Charles decedents and friends.
